Even though I was gifted this expansion and being 60yo. Having spent aeons grinding Eng/Guardian and Eng Mats (100%) plus mining. I've come to the conclusion, irreverently, that the grind after death is only a little shorter, and less boring, than an Fdev grind.
For some reason , this reminds me of when I was a Dungeon Master for Dungeons , and Dragons . You get players that we call Hobo Murderers . Where the concept of story seems thrown out the window , and players just go on a killing spree looking like sociopaths. The game lacks a human element that is hard to pin down in a fictional setting , that removes the human element of the decision making process. I should create a pvp game called fictional sociopath for money online.
To be fair, do *anything* to draw negative attention in a settlement... and they draw down and start shooting, blow up your ship if they can, and swarm. If they value the player's life that little, the player's driven to value theirs just as little. The total lack of a nonlethal takedown option, also, pushes that. The stealth gameplay can be fun, but it's just so unrewarding compared to what's shown here.
The facility appears to be powered off this week with no guards in sight for anyone that wants to stroll through unbothered. Bring a power reg and clone a clearance from a dead body and it’s a space cheddar cakewalk!
Hawkes, do you approach the rest of your life with such a min-max mindset? I can imagine you as a parent. Changing diapers, cooking meals, helping with homework, test studies. Hawkes steps in to redesign the bus routes to be 10 minutes faster…

Arai's mine no longer contains any significant mat Yields. I'd like to direct your attention at the Settilements run by Duwali Comms Limited and Andlit Co in the Duwali System and Iah Bulu. I have found high yields at their settlements that can exceed Arai's Mine by far. Focus on Industrial Settlements, Military Settlements and Agricultural Settlements of those factions. Notoriety is a small price for what you can get in their Settlements
For example, to unlock a suit engineer you should sell the opinion polls to the barman. Also you can sell all data or keep it to improve suits or weapons
Stealth is your best option. Take them down from the rooftops while they are unshielded. Inside, an intimidator or a tormentor should take out most enemies with a single shot or two as long as they dont have shields. I recommend taking the time to jump around and check out the various weapon stores on the stations for pre-engineered weapons and suits. It takes time but eventually youll come across some good stuff.
I don’t understand what you mean by STO building, I’ve done this over 30 times and I’ve checked every building with a door for data ports and at all the data ports I’ve found I haven’t seen a single opinion pole….
STO is a storage type building. It will have the big letters "STO" on it. He doesn't always clarify these things. Also, you're not alone, I've gotten only 2 opinion polls, I think, after farming this place over a dozen times. It's very possible the drop rates have been adjusted since this video was made.
It is so fuckin sad that you have to grind like this repeating the same run for hours on end just to get decent suits and weapons. Utterly terrible game design.
I farmed this place yesterday and I'm sure, no, I know i collected at least 1 opinion poll, 1 ionised gas, 2 chemical superbase and a lot of other stuff BUT back in my ship I realised most of the stuff was not there. There were no crashes or anything else in between to explain this. I also have some of the collected things multiple times listed in the storage list. Anyone else with the same experience?

Yes although I screwed up one thing that doesnt really help the pistol. My mods are headshot, reload speed, magazine size, and noise suppression on the lvl 5 tormentor. I will make another one that doesnt have head shot on it but has audio masking instead.

if you DON'T have level 5 gear and engineered silencers, you won't be able to do this method. You must START Odyssey as an Expert and fully grade 5, THEN get engineering stuff......go figure?? Odyssey is too frustrating and inverse-balanced to be called "entertainment"

Every settlement that I have been able to survive with my level zero garbage-gear I have ONLY had trash drops spawn for me. I have gotten 1 suit schematic ever and you pick up what, like 3 in just this vid? FFS!! :/ Watching you is like you have godmode on. I get looked at sideways and die. Plus, Im out at Colonia so I cant engineer my gear anyway even if I ever get it upgraded. Dunno why I bother tbh >.

@@HawkesGaming I have. Hopefully the AI behavior gets better, but that's never been my experience. I hope I'm wrong about it, honestly. I think they are really in to something great with the ground missions. I just hope they realize just how much more awesome it can be.
@@steppahouse I have level 5 everything. The only places I can really get into trouble is high security when nps have at least 4x or more shield and hps. That's when it gets challenging cause they dont miss much like lesser npcs do.
@@HawkesGaming That's been the gradient for FPS for a long time. More DPS resistance, more DPS, hit more often. Very rare are the higher NPCsv that use better tactics, better coordination. That's what I'd love to see. Total War, years ago, had a lobby you could join and when someone playing a single-player game went into a battle, the system picked the next human player in that lobby and put them in command of the NPC army. Truly epic, but they abandoned it in subsequent titles. I wonder if there would be any appetite for that here. Just sit in a lobby until some CMDR drops into a settlement and the alarms go off. Boom... instant "AI".
LOL, oh no no no no sir no. I don't know how Hawkes did it, but there ABSOLUTELY is a threat, ESPECIALLY if you are nowhere near lvl5 equipment. For one thing, those one shot kills you see? You won't be making those. Which means more reinforcements will come before you can even kill a single person. Let me tell you my experience: First of all, a little side note, it might get boring but zero threats SIGNIFICANTLY increases your farming efficiency so you can get your better gear faster. Anyway, I walk into this base, I'm grade 4 Mav suite, G4 Tormenor, G4 Shotgun (w/e it's name is). I do my little stroll and quickly one shot somebody that's in my way (just like is demonstrated in this video). Only the reality is that other people WILL hear the gunshot and WILL come running and that WILL happen fast a lot of the time. And even if I have my gun away and I'm not in s a restricted area, they still will start shooting at me. I've been able to kill them for the most part farilyk easily, but even with everything G4, I can die if I'm not careful and it takes me so much longer to farm. I can't just go running like hawkes does until everybody is dead because otherwise (like he points out in the video) they'll call for help and then I'll really be screwed. I dunno, maybe if I just get far enough away that would be enough but I don't feel like that's true. It's frustrating. I'm thinking maybe hawkes has silenced mods on his weapons maybe? *sigh* but anyway, with low grade gear and equipment, you absolutely WILL NOT have an easy time.

He uses engineer modification (it makes the weapon shoot sound quiter)

Go in solo mode. The only thing is that too many cmdrs will be taking regulators and messing with the settlement which will change its state.

To reset the settlement you have to fly a short distance in supercruise, relogging doesnt work anymore.

So I've not seen a single opinion poll here since patch 5 but plenty of smear campaigns...lol. If it's not one it's the other.

This is a low security settlement. You should dip your toe into the military settlement high security then cast judgments.
