The Rices have continued counseling at a Christian center and say they no longer drink hard liquor. They have continued serious counseling to save their marriage and to save their family. I respect the work this young family put in to correct the wrongs in their relationship. Ray became a father actively involved as a dad and as a loving husband that takes the time to listen to his wife. My best wishes to the both.

I hate that you keep referring to knocking out someone you love as a mistake. Forgetting her birthday is a mistake, denting her car is a mistake. Hitting her so hard she passes out and dragging her out of an elevator like a murder caught on tape is a crime. No way, no way that's the first punch ever, just the first one on tape.
I'm not her & wouldn't wanna be either but no way in hell if after watching that would I dare go back ! I'd accept his apology but they just made domestic violence acceptable! Bec no way that's the first time but hopefully we don't see them on tmz for murder
Exactly.
She married him afterwards so they worked THEIR problem out !! It shoulda stayed THEIR problem ! I SAID WHAT I SAID
@@ygfrankieb37ftb48 using caps makes you look stupid
It's a mistake because he was drunk and not in full control of his faculties. It keeps being left out that she spit in his face before getting on the elevator and she was the aggressor. In the heat of the moment it's not easy to turn instincts off she rushed him and he hit her. The whole situation should have never happened but don't leave her part out. If he is so abusive why did she try to hit him first? Wouldn't she know an abuser would beat her for what she did? She attacked him because she didn't think he was going to hit her back.
Your perspective is well beyond your years!!! Much respect. Keep up the great work.
Just Thank you for telling these stories so honestly while being completely unbiased. Logical and thorough. For me it’s reminiscent of when I was a kid and used to watch NFL football stories. You’re the truth man, ✊🏾
When I make a big mistake it’s, yelling at my wife when I get frustrated or mad. Not knocking her out cold on the elevator floor after spitting on her twice. Typically domestic violence is not a 1 time incident. It’s just amazing how we make excuses for celebrity’s.
I completely agree. The commentary’s message is that we have all had a bad night like this but luckily we had friends or people to stop us or back us. NO I have NEVER had a night like this. Most people haven’t it’s not normal…

FlemLo's explanation of what happened on the elevator left out a very important part, which is that when Ray walked on the elevator, he SPIT in her face and that is why she rushed toward him. That was actually the second time he spit on her with the first time being as she walked past him to get on the elevator. Also, literally NOBODY I know believed their media press run trying to explain the incident. It all felt fake and contrived. They did a horrible job trying to convince everyone that this was their first physical altercation. They literally wanted everyone to believe that they argued incessantly behind closed doors, but no punches were thrown, but yet this behavior happens after some drinks in public.
Just glad they're in a better place
There is no proof he regularly physically abused her. This mans hands are the size of most peoples head. If he regularly hit her there would be proof.
@@PrimeGalvatron If they kept it private like most domestic abuse how would there be proof?
Yes he definitely punched her on a regular basis
@@FtGFA Here we go with the anecdotal responses. There is no way to quantify 'most' domestic abuse is kept private. Battered people may not go to the police, but someone else usually knows unless this person has no social circles besides their relationship.
At any rate, Ray Rice went and told on himself about what happened BEFORE anyone even saw the footage. Most abusive people are not going to do this.
You know it's bad when SVU does "An Episode Ripped Straight From The Headlines" and it's all about you.
Underrated
I saw the Ray Rice episode of SVU. Straight over the top garbage. Just like the Chris Brown episode.
@@qadashchaayah7485 Oc course. The dad in that was over the top evil. It's why the show was re-upped for 3 more years (25 total) though. They'll never run out of material. It's also bad how immediately your mind went to Chris Brown though, as did mine.
I’ve never understood the appeal of S.V.U., to be honest; their episodes have always struck me as watered-down, more exploitative variations of the original (superior) show’s procedural formula, with most of its faults and precious few of its strengths-up to and including its unfortunate tendency to play on people’s ignorance and prejudices towards major stories/incidents outside of what they hear or read in passing, often for the sake of cheap drama, ratings, and seasonal renewals to keep Dick Wolf solvent. :P
If something like this WAS gonna be adapted for television in a police format, I feel like something more morally gray and complicated like “Hill Street Blues,” “Homicide: Life On The Street,” or “The Shield” would have been better suited to handle something like this. :/
@@christmashake8968 I still watch it cuz I'm 22 years in, but I could not agree MORE with that analysis. As mentioned above, the writers (Especially the last few years) have become too reliant on sensationalism. As my late dad told me as a kid, saying something is based on a true story/actual events is usually "a lie in disguise." People have been killed in the woods, but that doesn't make the Friday the 13th movies true stories. The Ray Rice episode did have a similar storyline (Football player KO'd wife on elevator camera), but the writers made the guy a monster to fit the narrative.
A great Hollywood example is the "true story" boxing movie Cinderella Man. It's a GREAT movie about a former boxer who rose from extreme poverty during the Great Depression to the heavyweight title. The movie showed his opponent (Max Baer) as a heartless guy who cracked jokes about a guy he'd previously killed in the ring. The real-life Max was devastated after the fight, and even went on to help his family and pay for his childrens' educations. That didn't fit the narrative of good vs evil, though.
I wish SVU would stop with the headline crap, or at least get it right if they continue. And I watched Hill Street Blues with my dad. THAT was a great show.
I didn't follow this incident when it happened...I think I was a little disgusted or hurt, but also wanted to avoid the media's take on it. I am glad I had a chance to view this video and learn a little about him and his life, and hope he is truly remorseful. Everyone deserves redemption.

@@silver4436 and you going to hold that against him forever? He made a mistake... you act like you’re perfect.
He's a woman beater he did not make a mistake he doesn't deserve sympathy. Ray Rice should not get any apologies
@@relaxwithtbj4320 I’m not perfect and every human being has made mistakes. But not mistakes to this caliber. Such violent actions and crimes are inexcusable even if it was a purely emotional action.
@@silver4436 you acting like alcohol dosen't make you do shit like that

First-time comment poster and I actually work with one of your cousins who told me about your channel, yet, I was doing homework today that mentions Ray Rice in the book "The Very Good Gospel" by Lisa Sharon Harper. Nevertheless, your video was the first to come up and near the end of the video, I choked up and that's real-talk. Keep doing your thing and God bless.
First time on your page and it’s great.
The vid don’t start til my boy say “CUE DA WAYNE!”
Whan say ya mean... blood clot, irie boy
I was in a similar situation. I pushed my wife and I paid the price. We worked it out. I sought help and worked on myself.
Good for you. Nice to know you admitted you made a mistake, repented and made things right.
I remember watching him during my freshman year of HS he was awesome wish the best for him and his wife still to this day!
She is a warrior for staying by his side they are soldiers of love shouts out his wife she held the family down isn't always ez but im glad to see them doing good love conquers all
I respect that you try to see another perspective on situations like this. However, I don’t believe this is a equatable to a “dark time in any young couples life “. If my wife and I are going through a hard time, we might have a separation or a verbal altercation but I will not strike her to the point of unconsciousness. Love your channel but feel this was quite a stretch.
The dude is a professional football player he should not have hit her at all but it would not take much from a professional football player who works out all the time to knock an average man out let alone a woman.

Anything can happen in a moment. Don't judge till u walk in someone's shoes.
I hope that he has found peace...and I hope the young lady has found peace as well.
Yo FlemLo awesome commentary like always you always give me a better perspective of the athlete I think I get a little smarter each time I watch you LOL 😂. Hopefully Ray and his wife are doing well the most important thing is family and learn from your mistakes we all make big mistakes but thank God for Grace and mercy I wish Ray and his family the best and they are able to move forward and live in peace ☮️
I like yo stories. I love the way u get to the point you very interested. You not that gossiping type I love it keep up the good work.
Hell if I was an athlete I would wait till my career is over to have a relationship/wife and kids.
Lavar Ball is that you?
Why these guys get married during their careers always baffles me.
@@erichodge567 why they get married and some don’t get prenups is even more baffling
@@erichodge567 I’d love to see the success rate of pro athlete marriages
They can still divorse you and take yo shit
His 2nd chance is better than anything the NFL could provide.
Factsss💯👏🏾👏🏾
Amen to that! Family is everything!
Kareem Hunt can get a second chance then Ray Rice should
AGREED
@@Cuz-Y-Not1942 Family helps accelerate the bad situations a lot of the time..be careful who you deal with..family or not...
