      It will be a non ferrous metal. The lamp is an Explosion Proof Lamp. Designed to use in areas were flammable vapours or explosives are stored. The seal stops fumes, the thick glass and grill means if the bulb bursts no hot fillament is exposed. And non ferrous , no sparks if its hit by something.

    You have a Wiz smartbulb too! That made me so happy! I love those things so much! I have ones that not only adjust the kelvins in the whites, but can also change to any color I want. Feit Electric has smartbulbs as well, but they can't make funky patterns. They're just easier to control when it comes to manipulating the color saturation. Lovely video!

    The green/yellow wire is used for ground.
    There are strictly regulations for that.
    In Romania ( Europe ) we use red for positive, blue for negative and green/yellow for ground.
    The bulb socket doesn't look too old.
    You are doing such a great job.

    Personally would have kept the "pitted" shell and gave it a coat of gunmetal paint or maybe even "parkerizing", as it would have added character.
    But i cant deny that the shiny smooth "as new" version also looks fancy.

      I'm by no means an expert so anyone feel free to correct me, but wouldn't leaving it pitted jeopardize the integrity of the metal? as in, leaving it more prone to becoming brittle?

      I always depends, I ran into some trouble with a project I started an then this turned out to take 2 weeks instead of one. I might have something ready also next week but I'm unsure. Next project should be quite easy. But editing also always takes time.

      Finally, someone who is nice. I really can't get a girlfriend in school because they are A: taken (like you are, lucky him) or B: hates me, or finally C: Will be in a horrible relationship. I am glad there are people like you out there that actually give me some damn hope, because I am sick of all the girls at my school, all the boys are sick of it too. This is America. Unavailable or available with no hope of survival. And we can all agree that Mr. Odd is the best restoration man both sides of the Mississippi.

    Amazing video. I love watching you restore and transform amazing things. The only real thing I have to say is the "pitting" was texture because it was cast metal when it was produced. I love how it turned out in the end though. Keep up the amazing work.
