Evan please do a video on the division! After the patched out all the bugs after the first year, the game was revamped and was so much fun. Had it been how it was in year 2 and 3 at the start of year one, I feel it’d have been as big as destiny.
Wrath of the Machine is my favorite raid! I’m not sure if it’s biased, either way it’s a good raid but I love it because of the time I had during Rise of Iron. Something so special about that dlc and the end of D1. Great times!
Yeah every week in that last stretch before D2 was announced were amazing. Raid after raid getting a new breath of fresh air. I hope we get some of those ornaments in D2 too😄
4:10 correction, Siva did not take over Rasputin. Rasputin commanded Siva to take out the iron lords. However, the Iron Lords were collateral. Rasputin’s target was actually Felwinter and he used Siva to bait him in and destroy him
@@SkyRecruit18 yea, I didn’t think we’d hear about this again as a main point after the Felwinter’s Lie quest, but then Bungie reveals the reason for Osiris’ grudge against Rasputin. That was some good story they gave us Tuesday
I can't expression how badly I want bungie to do this to destiny 2 because in all honesty, destiny 2 with all of its content would be an incredible value
I hope by the annual year of Final Shape, we see all of the vaulted content returned to the game. Red War and Forsaken Campaigns, along with their destinations, missions, strikes and Raids. Please Bungie. A Destiny 2 with EVERYTHING available will be incredible 🙏
As a player who joined at the tail end of the Taken King expansion, this has always been my favorite year of destiny. Everything the age of triumph did for me, and by extension my friends, cemented my love and addiction to the series. So glad to see the Age of Triumph get the recognition it deserves.
The only bad things Age of Triumph did was take away special ammo and leave stickies and maybe a couple other abilities a bit too strong. Everything else is pretty much perfect.
I'm so glad Destiny 1 ended on such a fantastic note. I still love playing it to this day, the game still has such a solid gameplay loop and gorgeous aesthetic that D2 can never top. I genuinely recommend this game to this day because of how well it still holds up 8 years later. Its an experience I think any shooter fan would appreciate. If anyone is reading this, I hope you will hear me out and check the game out for yourself. Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I have and that we can give the D1 community some much needed life. If this message never gets heard at least I tried.
For me at least D1 felt a bit needlessly slow. Sure it was fun but it just. Felt slow to upgrade things, that and the armor system and perks being completely random doesn't sit well with me personally.
This update is what started my addiction to Destiny. I built a PC just to play Destiny 2 because I assumed the game would continue in this direction. The ending of the video is exactly what I came to realize after WQ launched, sadly . It's so unfortunate to see all the potential get wiped away because of monetization (along with my drive to put meaningful time into the endgame). Loved the video as usual.
The Age of Triumph is what made me try out all the raids, granted I still didn't complete Kings Fall cause the raid team I was with quit because another dude made a mistake and basically gave up. I finished Wrath of the Machine, Crota's End, and Vault of Glass doing the challenge mode for them just to get the sick armor and weapons. Nothing in Destiny 2 has compelled me to run raids anymore, except that one time with friends.
I remember getting literally everything in Rise of Iron, was so great. I hadn't really played hardcore till TTK so it was even more exciting to get the legendary armor and all the exotic adept ones.
I never stopped playing D1. It's been 8 years and I am still playing, even on my 360, which is stuck in TTK. Simply the best gaming experience out there. Just the soundtrack and the atmosphere blows D2 out of the water.
@@ChosenMan37 Triumph books, exotics that I still don't have, armorsets that I still don't have, carrying new people through the game, hunting Nanophoenix in the Wrath of the Machine, doing the weekly challenges and story missions, soloing hard content. Tons of stuff.
It is hilarious how Destiny 2 came out after this and to this day, 7 years after, we still are not in a better or even as good place as Destiny was then.
This was the one event in Destiny that I missed. I was gone for two years, missing the Age of Triumph, Destiny 2 vanilla, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and little under half of Forsaken. I came back during Season of the Drifter.
Same bro, I was so upset that Rise of Iron was only going to be on the next gen consoles of the time, I still had my xbox 360 and was too broke to afford am Xbox One. Really wish I could've played Destiny 1's end
I hope Bungie will soon notice that the pattern with the community is a good intriguing story to play through and a good title and armor set (glowy) to grind
I'll never forget the day Age of Triumph was released. I remember coming back from school earlier from doing the last day of the state test, and then spending a week playing the update. Fun times
Efrideet's gnarly bootleg garage project Iron Banner guns were the best Iron Banner weapons for me. Unique sound and look. The armor was badass and IB gear dropped like crazy. Definitely need these back or ones similar. I really miss when Bungie would put badass ornaments in activities rather than in eververse.
This was the absolute height for Destiny as a franchise for me. It was on the right track for continuing forward and showing that Bungie could actually make Destiny the game we know it has the potential to be…then D2 happened…and as D2 continued I realized Destiny will never be that game, instead it’ll just keep delivering more of the same Destiny we’ve been playing for the past 8 years…
I had been playing destiny since I saw it on Redbox a few days after Croat came out and I haven’t looked back since. Rise of iron was something truly special. Every day was an amazing adventure with my new clan. Been with the same clan ever since
My Destiny 2 Age of Triumph would basically be to merge D1 with D2. Obviously this would be very difficult from a technical standpoint, but just imagine a directory with every location, a strike playlist with every strike, and a crucible playlist with every map, all the raids....
Nothing in Destiny 2 holds a candle to the beauty of Age of Triumph. I quit Destiny2 in October 2017, but I will always cherish the memories of D1 Age of Triumph
Thank you Evan for being on of the few out there mentioning that Bungie is actively working on other projects. I personally think we are seeing the beginning of the end for support to Destiny 2. Year for Rise of Iron had similar steps to what's happening. I honestly won't be surprised is Final Shape gets cut short to a season or released sooner than later. At this point I'm expecting their supposed plan to do content beyond Final Shape to be non-existant at this point
Season of Arrivals was, very loosely, Destiny 2's Age of Triumph; all the old raids were farmable at a high level allowing recollection and nostalgia of those old raids before they would be deemed either useless or just removed from the game entirely. Arrivals (to me) was the last good season Bungo has made for these reasons. Furthermore, Beyond Light was meant to be Destiny 3 meaning Arrivals essentially played the same role for Destiny 2 (Year 1-3) that Age of Triumph did for Destiny 1, wrapping up that era in a nice bow for the community.
Mi wild guess is that some creative choices (visuals) sayed with the company that helped to produce the game (activision), thats why some content was vaulted, and the content that returned, came back with significat astetic changes
But not forgotten is my favorite sniper and will always be. Even with the cool snipers like beloved coming in destiny 2. I still love the scope and it's just so fun to use that I refuse to use a sniper in destiny 2 until they bring it back
the division was absolutely flawed. but i loved it. i got goosebumps when you brought up the division bro, and you put a widdz video on. SHEEEEESHHHH TAKING ME BACK.

I’ve played since the d1 beta and rise of iron was the one time I just didn’t bother playing, knowing that d2 was gonna come out at some point I just didn’t see the point grinding anything seeing as nothing carried over, it would of been cool if these armour sets carried over because that would of still incentivised people to buy and play the old title post d2 launch, even things like unique emblems or stuff would of been nice
