    Yet another great video, whether a player plays Necrons or not! Most factions in 40K have similar fiddly bits and the process covered here covers the basics for magnetizing models in any faction.
    Another bonus to magnetizing the guns on models is that they are less likely to get broken during play or transport.

    For drilling the spheres, a good tip is to gently file a small flat plane on it. You can do this on both at the same time if you lay the file down and rub the piece across it. this also has the benefit of making both filed parts parallel

    The best magnet glue in the world is Bob Smith Industries Insta Cure+, it's a super glue which is very liquid and sets fast so you don't get that tiny magnet jumping out of the mini towards your metal watch like luke skywalkers' lightsaber flying towards his hand through the power of will alone. You can get BSI insta cure + via Hobby Kingm, amazon in Europe. I think they have a UK website also. Instead of using green stuff to fix magnets onto the mini I use the cheap version of miliput (grey) mixed 50/50 with plastacine to create a holder for the magnet when there isn't enough plastic on the mini to do so.

    • @IDICBeer

      Good tips, I quite like the magnets not instantly bonding, it gives me time to adjust their position if needed

    On the base magnitization, rather than adding a larger magnet to make a better hold, reaming the hole out to about 3.5mm and shouldering down to 2mm at the bottom would make for a much more secure connection. The sheer forces that can easily separate magnets would be taken up by the plastic of the model, leaving the magnets to just take care of sticking together.

      @IDICBeer  4 роки тому

      Thanks buddy, I have never had ad issue with just super gluing a bigger magnet myself

    Nice Video!
    I found myseld "cheating" when magnetizing "ballparts", i.e.:
    I dont drill holes in the spheres. I cut the speres off alltogether and replace them with reasonably sized steel balls out of ball bearings.That way I dont need to care about magnet orientation, as I only need one. Comes in quite handy when magnetizing Immortals :D

    Awesome vid. I am doing this for my Tyranids. I noticed also that when I use green stuff and place the magnets in the green stuff then just leave it overnight It holds itself very well without using superglue. Isn't superglue not needed then? It feels very secure.

    • @IDICBeer

    Hello,
    Fantastic video. Questions I have:
    So wor the weapon you have used 2 1x1 and 4 2x1. And for the holder 2 2x1, correct?
    Also, why do you need magnetize back ?
    I mean their tools unique, no ?
    Thank you

    • @IDICBeer
      @IDICBeer  10 місяців тому

      Yes that is correct. The back section hold the different wargear options, it just makes it easy to see what model has what wargear if you play a unit with mixed wargear. You probably wouldn't do that in 10th as wargear is free, but before 10th you had to pay points for the different wargear options
