The one thing I admire most about your painting style, is that it's actually STYLES. This "grimdark" style has its' own techniques to master, as does the "heavy metal" style, or any other "style," for that mater. They are all disciplines, and most people (that very much includes myself) strive to get good at just the one, whereas you have quite obviously mastered multiple kinds. It's impressive to see you switch between completely different artistic expressions, and never seem to miss a step. I of course understand that you work day and night on your craft to produce these results, but it still never fails to blow my mind how you so effortlessly transition from one style to the next. That miniature quite literally looks like a two-dimensional, canvas-style painting wrapped around a three-dimensional object. Kudos to you and all that you do for us, and have a great week.

If all I saw was the final product, I’d swear to God that you built a life-sized Necron ( a mind-blowing achievement on its own). Your ability to achieve such fine depth and details is a true thing of beauty.

I watch you and other painting focused youtubers for 2 reasons:
    - to see a new scheme for something and get inspired (this one)
    - to learn new technique / more nuances of technique I know and want to utilise to greater effect
Video I'd love to see would be a color scheme centered around nice "medium" purple, neither flashy and pinkish, nor dark. It's a color that I love but have a hard time implementing.

Can we take a minute to just forget about the master of brush control and the number of different techniques used in this piece, and just truly appreciate the colors used in this paint scheme. The whole "Feel" of this composition begins to take shape around 11:49. This piece has this dreadful and dreary tone, takes me to a dark place and fills me with excitement watching it take shape.
I watch videos like this and I'm so inspired to paint. Thank you for these uploads!

Finally, a metal blade with glowing recesses. That makes so much more sense to me lore-wise. It's supposed to be living metal and the glow lines seem to reflect that idea better to me. I'd love to see something like that plays with the idea of metal anodization around heat sources. So instead of focusing completely on overglow green, make the metal panels slightly colored according how metal anodizes at different temperatures. Even just a little blue discoloration at a weapon muzzle might be a cool thing to play with.

That's a fantastic example for me to show glazing stepping up to layering. Thanks!
As for W+, it wouldn't be for me, but for my brother. He is permanently disabled and I've been trying to get him into 40K and Kill Team games to get him out of the house and be with people again, current conditions allowing. W+ is something that can help him get more into the GW side of the hobby. I play non-GW games, so I am not a good resource of information for him, but something like W+ would be something he could work with easier.

This looks Gorgeous. I had problems trying to figure out what I like the most about your original 9th ed necron video, to use some things in my own scheme, and I was really sure that I was going to try orange glow for sure, but then you paint another beautiful necron, with a more classic green glow, and it looks amazing.
Also I have to point out that most people doing a grimdark miniature, will start to use enamels, oils, sponges, and all sort of tricks and tools to make the miniature look grimdark, but you just use your brush, an amazing control of the tool, inks and acrylics, and your experience and knowledge to make it look grimdark and beautiful.
    Bravo.

Fantastic as always, I’m painting up a Necron force at the moment and will definitely use elements of this. Loved your interpretation of the blade/energy globes on the model. I never quite liked the general method of painting the blades with the green energy overwhelming the blade, didn’t make sense for robots that have laying dormant for millions of years to look like they’ve been through a car wash before hitting the battlefield.
I subscribed to Warhammer+ and while it’s early days for the content it’s just another great source for ideas on how to paint your particular favourite army or individual model.
