Man I swear you always put out a video that just happens to be convenient when I want to do something. I have been sitting on my ghost ark for months unbuilt. I wasnt sure how exactly I was going to effectively magnetize it. I did think to keep it as just a ghost ark but I also need more heavy supports as I only have one which is a lokhust heavy haha
Recently magnetized a Rhino and Predator for my Thousand Sons Horus Heresy army. Never thought of using green stuff for attachments. I cut off a bit of sprue and drilled a magnet into it for under the hatch. Might have to try out some green stuff. Good work as usual Nick.
My friend just ordered a ghost ark kit for my birthday and I was was Wati h your old video last night. I was like “Man I really wish he would but out an update.” And you did. You didn’t have to but you did. Thx!!
This is the way. Simple enough, yet versatile. Who cares about whether the ribs are upside down or not - it was a stupid design choice of GW anyway to flip them upside down for the DDA.
I'll admit, I was the one that cared before, I'm too anal, but having done it this way now, I actually prefer it like this and of course it is easier 😁
I personally didn´t magnetize my flayers. As far as storage goes. You can just simply push them up between the rips if you dont glue them. Works like a sharm for me.
This is exactly how I built my first ghost/doomsday ark. After this, I built 2 doomsday arks and 2 ghost arks since that was part of the list I was making (so only one that can be switched around). I have 2 more ghost arks to build and my ark fleet is complete!
@@IDICBeer I think it would be a good idea from what we've seen about 10th edition. This is speculation, but... Vehicles are looking a LOT tougher. Enemies will need to use anti tank weapons to be effective against most vehicles. The big question for Necrons is, "what will quantum shielding do?" Also, 10th so far seems to be a hodgepodge of rules from 4th through 6th eds. If that's the case, we might see the monolith return as the hardest to kill vehicle in the game. It used to ignore any special rules like melta weapons and lances had. Perhaps, this will be what quantum shielding will do going forward.
Do you think they'll bring back glancing and penetrating shots? Just had my first encounter with it in 30k and kind of liked it. And different armor ratings on different sides
@@IDICBeer Yep. Just need the bodies and some extra gauss flayers and you got some flayed ones. Nothing too fancy but you get a fair number of them without having to pay that absurd price tag for the proper kit. I'd send a pic of mine if youtube allowed the link for it. Might need some sculpting clay to provide a good foundation for them to stand on tho. Bought a small block at the craft store for a couple dollars.

Does this magnetizing mean that i can swap it into a doomsday ark and then a ghost ark. Because it seems you built it like that. Btw another question, would you like to see the DAWI-ZHARR!!!! (Chaos Dwarves) come into the 40k universe?
When i first got the Warhammer 2 game like 2 years ago I saw a artillery cannon named the "Hellcannon" with chaos dwarves that really got me into the hype train for them. Sooooo for the last 2 years I have been reading lore and analysing the hell out of the old 80's Chaos Dwarves and AOS "Horns Of Hashut" teams. And now they finally arrived to TWW3. And yes I know you may not know a lot about them because well, such you make 40k content specially, but still
Hi Bob, yes that is it, you can switch the model between the two units, making the the most of the dual kit. I know Chaos Dwarfs from the old Man O War game, but can't really see them coming into 40k

Yes should be, could use that or old sprue instead of green stuff

And I also use the plasmacytes as proxies for flayed ones as well. Since I don't usually field them as is.

Would N32 magnets work as well?
They would be ok with the small guns, but they will come.off easy, I defo would recommend N52
What do you do to hide the magnets when not in Ghost form?
Well, I paint over them, that can rub off over time, but as they are silver the same as my paint scheme you can't really see them
