One of his best. Henry is always great to listen to (for me not musically but spoken word). I love punk music and he sort of embodies it in great stories which I have really come to appreciate. When I have a hangover especially I turn to Rollins and pretty soon I get my strength and sense of humour back on track. Great video. Thankyou Mesa.
Louie's Rock City. I was there. never sweat so much in my life. I remember being at the front and staring up at Joey and I was able to actually see his eyeballs behind his glasses for the first time ever. it was weird.
Is it only me or would People not give there left Leg to see Henry perform in a Band again?.. Even if it was just once for one song.. I enjoy watching and listening to him.. He has a Fantisic point of view on everything.. I often find myself asking, "What would Henry do or Say" before I react to things.. Pretty weird eh?
I was making dinner last night, and couldn`t decide between beans on toast and eggs on toast. I asked myself, `what would Henry do?`, and then it came to me, he`d have both.
Wow. Never knew much about Ian, except from seeing his band live in 1993 or 1994. Amazing show. But hearing about this side of him... wow. Thanks, Henry.
...so you're misunderstanding and simplifying the point he makes about how immensely valuable personal involvement in culture is...to justify your own cynicism and disempowerment, and how you've given up ? Or is it that you have the better solution for the problem, but right now are just waiting for folks to come to you , and ask you to give it to them?
Hey Henry, Now there's a war.. in Ucraine, we had a pandemic..(or having) Nothing 's changed. This world gets sweeter each day. I love 2018 in a few ways... really.
Hell yes, Clutch Cargo's!!! I've been there a million times! Two things, though: 1) It was in Pontiac, Michigan. 2) (I just gave it away) It's permanently closed :'( Awesome venue, though!
@@mjrydsfast I'm 48 so I was too young to have went to Clutch Cargos in Detroit. Of course I've been to The one on Pontiac. Been to St. Andrews ...saw Social Distortion in 1989 there.
My parents have a story about booing pain in the ass cokehead era Ozzy off stage when he was with Sabbath. I'm sure situations like that are where Ozzy's insecurity with people liking him come from. I fucking love Sabbath, but I heard he was being very pansy rockstar that day.
Couldn't stand the fucking mic feedback. Who the hell was running sound? What a waste of a potentially-good show. Had to shut it down due to the damn feedback.
“oH WhAt AbOuT WhItE LiVeS MaTtEr??” YOU NEED A RAMONES RECORD
best quote I’ve ever heard someone say
Henry gets better with age, like a fine wine
I mean truthfully his older spoken word was better , imo
So true. It's taken me many years to really appreciate one of the great bold gentlemen of our time
Like pond water, things start growing in it.

Great as always :) Glad to see Rollins still out there, doing his thing.
Punk and skateboarding saved me

The art we love, culture we crave, the world want to build is our responsibility, because it is ours to lose.

This is ridiculously quiet. I really want to hear. Oh, it looks like it may be correcting.
1:25 it gets louder
I notice a few of his spoken word shows starts out quiet and then changes. Maybe the sound guy adjusts it?
I was at one of those European rock shows. I saw Henry live and I cared. It was a great show!

If not hear him perform again can I would love to meet him at least and get him to sign a book of mine..
Inspirational, this talk pulled me in like no other. Henry is a person we should all inspire to be like.

love the small detail: he roll up the mic cord around his fist, usefull , if you need to hit someone and keep controll of the mic
This was an amazing night!
I grew up near the Surf ballroom, able to touch any artist that played. I was very Lucky.
Solve all the world's problems with regurgitated stories and a devo record....brilliant.

Awesome.
The more you say "don't see the move," the more I want to see it.
Never was a punk fan but I won't miss any of Henry's movies or spoken word programs.
Do you don’t like punk, and you don’t like his movies or his spoken word? Why are you even watching the video
@@swampshack1018 I watch every movie and spoken word he does they are awesome.

Liz. Clutch Cargos was in Detroit originally not Pontiac... Black Flag played there 6/17/82. Lot's of legendary bands played there!
@ToddMar St. Andrew's Hall, correct? I attended a few shows there as well. 1980s. The Latin Quarter was always my favorite as well as Harpo's.

Biafra got married in a cemetery, not henry.

37:00 He's talking about Joe & Mike & Bob's place in Carmel!!
Good to see this, though I think by Rollins' own admission (elsewhere; I'd have to dig it up) he should no longer be called a "musician".
I don’t think he’d ever of called himself a musician. He’s very self deprecating about his abilities.

Is this Mesa, Arizona and if so, which venue?
