If you would like to know. The cat girl at 20:00 is Karyl from Princess Connect Re:Dive. It's an anime and game. This is from the anime where her and a group of others go around completing quests that involve food. I think she's being forced to eat a bug in this clip lol
I think people always forget that part. People also often say his -2 doesn't do anything in Commander when it is really good to get back exiled important artifacts.
@@mn6334 I use it in conjunction with Relic, so I can find my Relic again against decks like Dredge, and it makes people salty, cuz like you said, they forget it's outside OR exile.
I mean, it looks like a nombo, but the floor for it is just turning your land into a mountain you would be playing anyways, and ceiling is getting a combo piece, or finishing out the opponent with construct. Its literally all upside,
yeah, i've been brewing modern food for a while now. it's not widely known yet, buy karn is actually the best hate card against them. i'm playing it from the side as a mirror breaker, and it's truly auto win. so much so, that i'm thinking of moving him to the mainboard. just depends on how often i see the mirror this summer. karn is king rn
At 59:40, was that a slight punt to gust the hierarch instead of the reef? Bouncing reef does let opp draw another card but also keeps Karn alive since hierarch can't deal the 2 damage needed.
Seth : "Richard I want to play some Modern decks." Richard : "They all have Ragavan in them..so if I am paying for 4 Ragavans you are going to play nothing but Ragavan decks for the next six months."
This deck is awesome. Seth you are a pioneer that pave the way for new decks to get into meta. The community will see this and make adjustments to even better it just like Hammer Time. Good job. I watched from beginning to end. I do believe there is another combo that comes with this. Time will tell.
I sent in a deck similar to this at the start of the year, glad to see it get some light! The version I sent was a grixis colour build, and was using bitter ordeal alongside the saheeli/altar package. Bitter ordeal acted as a secondary way to close a game out if the opponent had mill protection or if you didn't have altar out, since each saheeli clone hits the graveyard before disappearing, charging up your gravestorm count for ordeal. Like I said super glad to see the deck get a good running!
Love this deck! I know why you don’t Seth, but it would be awesome if you did some of the same decks more often. I can watch you play this deck every week
Punt at 19:45. If you would have played saga first, then played torque on T2, T3 you could have floated a mana with saga before grabbing altar and then casting saheeli. That was a t3 win
@17:40 Any thought to getting a couple of U Sagas with the Prime Time search? I know you were so far ahead as to make it maybe redundant, but it's seemed like a good line.
23:10 When you're so blinded by getting all the value you can out of Urza's Saga before it goes that you forget something just a LITTLE BIT more important...
Against the blue moon deck in the second game your sahili is on 2, you chose to scary with her bumping her to 3. What you could have done was make her an artifact, copy her with -2 for a new sahili and then scry to get her to 4, this way she doesn’t die by bolt (which she does)
Its weird seeing how a single Ragavan is more expensive than the fetches combined on MTGO rn. The playset of the Ragavans is more than the whole deck combined and its only as close as it is because of Urza's Saga. Crazy how MH2 has just warped the market
it's pretty weird. blood moon takes away all its chapters as those are part of its rules text, but doesnt change the fact that it's a saga because it only changes the land subtypes and not the enchantment subtypes. if a saga ever has no chapters, its final chapter becomes 0, and so any amount of lore counters will make you sacrifice it
at 1hr in when you aether gusted the noble hierarch, why did you do that on your turn? I think it's better to sandbag it til next turn. Then he attacks with only risen reef and you can gust reef and keep Karn for 1 more turn.
Jegantha as companion?? Would have to replace anger with something in the board, but in a few of those games having a free 5/5 would have been pretty solid
This is the exact opposite half of the combo I used to do something similar, which was to get Felidar Guardian in a loop with itself, with Altar of the Brood in Play
@@ImJustHereToWatch14 should be easy enough in UW, plenty of blink effects, clones, relevant tutors in those colours to get the ball rolling. For EDH, mono-W is my favourite place to play Altar of the Brood. No-one expects to be milled by the mono-W player, and commanders like Darien, King of Kjeldor are supremely good at churning out permanents to trigger it.
Was there ever a consideration for gorilla shaman in this deck, or is it too slow? Also, I feel like a black splash for K-command would be pretty sweet. This deck also seems insane as is though 😂
I feel like you could do a budget of this without ragavan maybe subbed for bomat or robber cheaper mana base run maybe 2 karns more altar of the broods aswell as combining the monogreen liquimetal control premise to this deck. conflicted on the blood moons as it helps a lot but is expensive. Ultimately seems necessary
Against the odds is built around a single card that the community picks. Much abrew could be a viewer submitted deck or Seth building a way more competitive deck.
Why is Splinter Twin still banned? Look back at its peak of the Modern game. It was about 17.8% of the meta share, and it was oppressively strong. It was the best Tempo/Control with a Combo finisher in the game. It was able to protect itself, and it's only gotten batter tools to handle the meta. With Solitude it IS a little tougher, but they can just run Subtlety. It's a hard balance for a deck that is strong alone, let alone having new stuff like Force of Negation and Counterspell. However, to counter those arguments, there also comes Plague Engineer (a messed up card) but the redundancy and strength of the tools of UR makes it a deck that shouldn't exist still.
Too late now but I would've kept in Pithing Needle against Amulet Titan over Spellbomb. You can at least name Tolaria West and shut off another way of them finding Titan.
I think this deck would be cool if there was no combo, just an Izzet blood moon control deck that locks with liquid metal and artifact removal and if it was called “Artifacts suck 😎”
from what I understand bloodmoon does not cause it to lose the saga subtype, but it does lose it's textbox. By definition a saga has chapters, but without a textbox it considers its final chapter to be chapter 0, hence 0 or more counters would cause it to sac itself.
@@CrazyMegaOmega yeah, nonbasics loose land types but not other types, and sagas get sacrificed if the number of lore counters is equal or greater to their last chapter number
It also depends on the layers, right? If there is an Urza’s Saga on board when Blood Moon is played, it sacrifices, but if you play it into a Blood Moon, it enters as a mountain without the saga sub-type?
I love when Seth has blood moon out, he calls all oppos lands mountains. I know they are, but it just makes me smile.
