I honestly think that mill needs to shift into exiling more in the new mh2 meta. Endurance is gonna be played in a HUGE amount of decks, and completely destroys mill.
25:45 More of a tip for opponent that Seth: Mechanics like Converge and Sunburst count mana spent on extra costs as well not just the base spell itself and lets you "cheat" around tax effects. Opponent cast Prismatic Ending to remove Thalia and paid X=1 (3 mana). Paying X=0 and spending non-W-colored mana on the Thalia tax still gives two colors spent for Converge.
Also seemed like he didn't know which order to apply the replacement effect from chatterfang and the manufactor, at 10:15 I thin he should have had way more squirrels.
This has to be one of my favorite against the odds decks in a while. Awesome job! I really love artifact tokens and love how well it works for how janky it looks.
I cannot describe how happy I was when I watched the intro and learned this wasn't a mistake or mislabeled. Seth content brings light to my day, and having a surprise serving of light is amazing.
31:14 Isn't it better to stack triggers so Endurance sacs itself to evoke first and then it shuffles your whole graveyard into library including itself?
I feel like this deck really wants a copy of Rampage of the Clans. Making like 30 3/3 tokens at instant speed seems insane. And it still triggers Disciple too.
Exactly what i was thinking or gane 2 playing thalia would've 100 percent gave him another turn plus the control matchup he never cracked any clues or food even when he was sitting on mana and even when it would've saved him i think he's to blinded by the coco to thunk straight
I think you could cut thrabin inspector, tracker, chatterfang and the paths to give you 11 slots to play with. Plus that would remove white. That would be a good starting point for the shell i think. Also this might just be the only ok atog deckshell in modern. Grinding station would be almost infinite mill with this too. Fun deck to mess with
This is probably one of my favorite against the odds decks in a while. Really tempting me to get into modern. Just so expensive because of all the fetches.
Seth with the nut draw off the bat. . . AGAIN. Love it Seth. Another awesome brew. This was one of those decks that as seth was explaining the deck you couldn't help but smile as you saw it all come together.
Have you thought about cutting white from the deck? In main you only have Inspector (can be somewhat replaced with Hard Evidence - crab token works better with Chatterfang and can block stuff like Goblin Guide but can't be CoCo'd) and Path (with something like Fatal Push or Thoughtseize to protect the combo). The 5C manabase is clunky and/or painful. But overall a very sweet deck.
Against the burn deck both games you could´ve had another turn by saccing the food tokens for 3 life right? still, they probably draw another bolt of course :D
Yeah, every food he has negates a burn spell at no loss of cards. If they kill the goose, you still can make another food in response and they wasted a burn spell on it at that point as well. Burn doesn't have much card advantage so if your goose saves you 3-6+ life, then you're golden (or should I say gilded)
31:12 It's probably better to stack the evoke sacrifice on top of the tuck from endurance since you have no recursion and if you dig your way to a chord, it's in the deck.
Replacement effects are weird. There's another time in the video when Seth had Academy Manufactor and Chatterfang out at the same time. He could have applied Manufactor's replacement effect before Chatterfang's and gotten 3 squirrels instead of one.
my head hurts watching this pile of jank work, but I love it! just the distraction needed from the seering blaze of a headache moving houses can be. Thank you for all you do seth!
I'd be really curious to revisit some against the odds with alternative deck builds. So many times in the past you tried to build a deck with not as good cards to do something specific with an against the odds card, instead of making a competitive deck that had the against the odds card in it. your reasoning was always "I didn't want to remake an already meta deck" but idk, would still be interested in seeing some other alternative builds
Seth I think I speak for alot of the viewers when I say that we enjoy watching these videos as much as you enjoy making them for us keep them coming definitely can't wait for the next one or two whichever you decide to do thanks for the bonus this week
I was building an EDH deck that loosely followed this concept. Lonis led the deck, with academy manufactor, fae offering, anything that could make some tokens. Cast a Gaea's anthem, March of the machines, and then an Old Gnawbone so your tokens made more tokens that made more tokens so on and so forth
Opponent small punted at 25:48. You can cast Prismatic Ending with X=0 targeting Thalia. Thalia makes it cost 1 more for a total of 1W, you pay 2 colors of mana to put Prismatic Ending onto the stack, as Prismatic Ending resolves, we see that we spend 2 colors of mana on it, and Thalia is cmc 2, so Thalia goes to exile. Idk what they could have done with 1 colorless mana, but still.
I dunno if there's a reason to play this competitively over other CoCo decks but boy oh boy was this the coolest and most fun looking deck I've seen in a long time
Really cool deck! I was a bit unsure if the pieces would come together in the deck-tech, but afetr seeing the games it seems like there are a bunch of good combinations so any couple units + collected company is great. After seeing how it played it actually felt like chitterfang is not necessary since you got combo kills so often. Also it looks like Academy Manufacturer has no impact on the number of squirrels created, which is too bad.
