i really like the idea of you choosing the pain you want in life, either you control it and study to get a degree or you don't and you have the lifelong pain of regret and working a job you hate. The same goes with excercise and food, either you run and lift to be fit and you feel great while doing it, or you watch yt all day, feel bad because you know thats not what you should be doing and you get fat in the process.
@ another thing I heard recently on a productivity masterclass is the concept of the motivation myth, basically why are we waiting to “feel” a certain way to do things we have to do. That’s what a 3 year old does, behaves like he feels. Why do we think we can only get stuff done if we feel a certain way. I really think about this a lot lately
If you truly did your best, gave it your all, and you failed, you won’t be able to blame yourself. But you will see, if you actually do everything you can and do your best, you won’t fail, to everyone reading this, you got this!
I agree! At least you know it’s not your effort but maybe your study methods and should try maybe some active study techniques. Growth mindset is everything
At this point nothing remains, only going on sheer discipline and mindset. So ingrained that what i gotta do but, unlike what they say motivation is important bcoz sheer discipline is draining an exhausting.
Relating to depending less on discipline, I like the concept of "romanticizing" our surroundings. Like having nice things to do certain activities with, or special places to do them, giving us some motivation. I wonder what David Goggins has to say about this idea jaja
@@santiagodesousa709 haha yes he said in his book that you cant rely on motivation and i agree with that on a certain degree but motivation does make everything so much more fun
Your videos are so motivational. The way you approach life is inspirational, something to be proud of for sure! Stay original, embrace your own rhythm!
Yeah, motivation is tricky. All the things that you said keep you motivated and well influenced are, in the end, things that give us perspective, that help us zoom out and see what life has to offer. Today many of us suffer from constant short term demands that suck our energy reserves to look from above and find motivation to do things that will only benefit us in the long term. It's a problem of today's era, I think. Also, I love the many references to things you put in your videos, makes them feel really well thought and meaningful. 🐸
It’s natural for our brain to seek instant gratification. Our brain is very old and primitive. It doesn’t evolve as quickly as our society. Things like social media, Netflix and stuff found a perfect way to tap into the flaws of our unupdated brain. So that makes it even more challenging for our generation to think in long term. I think if you limit things that are based on instant gratification you’ll also be able to zoom out more and see things in perspective. Today they call that a “dopamine detox” whatever the hell that means. But it is as you say the challenge of our generation.
Hi, I would like to thank you for the vlog. I love the effort made on the camera work and the tips. I have a question in my mind, are you French ? If yes, super je le suis aussi.
@cassidaymoriarity we have few ice rinks in Belgium. I’m just lucky mine is 30min biking away :) but when it’s closed u can still go to the Netherlands and skate there. Its like 1h-2h car ride

Yes I only use discipline when it’s absolutely necessary. I wish you all the luck and strength with what you’re going through!

Is it common to just go ice skating in Belgium? There are so few ice skating centers in Indiana that it requires so much trave time
