    Very motivating.

You know, a lot of people would see Nutn on his Xooter pushing along and think he was someone they could easily roll over without any idea how much of a badass he is. ( or what kinda heat he's surely packin ;)
Seriously makes you think twice before you get the itch to pick on someone.
My respect for Nutin increases with every video I watch.
His simple logic, sound advice and just overall "down to Earthness" is inspiring and my life is honestly better for it.
Thank you Nutin, keep on trucking.

I've always bicycled and skateboarded but recently I was having issues where either skateboarding would be illegal (even if just riding it and not hurting anything, which is stupid) or there are too many steep hills and no brakes but your poor legs/shoes. And where bikes were too inconvenient (having to find a rack to lock them up, not able to bring them everywhere). So I logically thought "why not a scooter?". Found the xootr pretty quickly and am anxiously awaiting it to be shipped! Nice vid.

Nutn, got my xootr yesterday and was very impressed with the quality. Just took it around the block on a test run and cannot wipe the smile off my face. Once again, you ROCK!

Mr Nutn. I can't think of a more tactically squared away individual who will run n gun with the best of em and then the next day xootr with a fanny pack. You are easily thee biggest tactical nerd on youtube and I couldn't have been more proud to watch your videos.

Just got a Xootr (Roma) yesterday, now I am about 9km on it. I wasn't sure I used it correctly. Hence thanks for the video. it added a lot of confidence for me. Turned out that it was quite a workout, partly because I was not skilled and tend to tense up. I believe things will get better. :) I think the training will be good investment for my Xootr adventures in the future!

Ok Nutnfancy, this takes the cake. Dude, you are all about the FUN. That's it. Crazy fun. I'm an overweight, middle-aged tree stump and now I want to Xootr. Flying wambo bats but you come up with more things for me to spend money on than anybody else! No wonder my wife freaks out when she hears your voice. Now you've gone and got me into more trouble! Xootr, here I come!

What??? How crazy is this? I go looking for a review on "adult scooters" and I find a review from one of my favorite gun reviewers! Cool!
I'm looking for a scooter to ride with my son on his razor, the razors are just too small for me.

$200 for a well made and well designed product is dirt cheap! Especially considering how versatile this mode of transport is, plus how "green" it is. Phenomenal product!

Great video! I have a Xootr Street on the way. I own a GoPed KnowPed, and as solid and bump-worthy as it is, it's SLOOOOWWWW! Drives me crazy,...I'm upping the speed so I can ride this around at work during lunch. Spring is almost here,...time to enjoy!

Bro - love your video review! People use to bag on me (incl my wife) for scootering around all over with my kids Razors! Then I finally found a used Micro that was closer to actually fitting an adult. Once my friends and wife tried it they started to see what they were missing! Just last week I discovered Xootr and immediately ordered an Ultra Cruz! My wife made me promise that my old scooter would go to her when my new one comes! You're right - people should knock what they haven't tried.

Scotchlite reflective tape holds great. Get anti-fog sunglasses and clear anti-fog safety glasses for night riding (I carry both at all times just in case). If you have carpal tunnel/hand probs get some pipe foam insulation and shove on handles for riding on very rough roads (very cheap at Home Depot) made a HUGE difference for my numbness while riding. I keep my entire camelback full of water in fridge when I get home in anticipation of next ride so I can just go at a moment's notice! TY NUTN!!

Oh, and great review Nutn'! Never figured you as much of a Xootr guy, lol; rain was never really an issue for me in Florida for anyone interested.

Hi! I'm about to get a refurbished xootr for my son's b-day and happened across your Jacksonville, FL video. That's where I live so of course I recognized the landscape and downtown + the Main Street Bridge over the St. Johns River (flows north like the Nile). I'll have to show my son this video after he learns to ride it. Yes, you are correct - downtown Jax is a very ride-able city on the weekends. :-)
    Thanks for the video review!

I personally got the KickPed. I looked at the Xootr, the Goped Knowped, and the Razor A5 and decided that I'm too tall for any of the other ones, as well as too heavy. When I first got it I was weighing in around 265, and now I'm in the high 240s - low 250s. An excellent way to commute, to be sure. But I needed something that wasn't going to aggravate my back injury further. Standing with a curvature in my spine wasn't an option!
    Good review, by the way.

    • @BelchTycoon
      @BelchTycoon 10 років тому

As I don't own both the Xootr and the Kickped, I can't make any comparisons. But from what I have read from everywhere else online, the stats are as follows:
Xootr -- thinner wheels, light weight, less rolling resistance. The con to that is that the wheels are small and thus can lead to snagging on cracks and having to really avoid even small rocks.
Kickped -- heavier, wide solid rubber wheels, high weight capacity. The con is that it takes more kicks to roll as far because of the increased rolling resistance. However, it does fold fast and unfolds faster, and rolls over rocks without a hitch. I can even roll it over the train tracks where there is a 1-inch gap and it still tackles it like nothing.
I got the Kickped because of my height.

about 5-10 years ago, in Europe many people used those littlew scooters (called often 'kickboards'). That has faded - sadly, I liked using that thing. You're versatile, quite fast and you can take it everywhere you go. Perfect for people who don't like bikes. After a little training on it, you're really fast (and also, it's quite secure if you watch out!). Problem: rain and dust is just bad, because of grip and rust. You also want to go on smooth surfaces. I recommend it.

I have a chronic and pretty sever hip defect called a Slip capital femoral epiphysis, as a result I haven't been able to run in over 7 years. However my razor kick scootor helped me get around even faster than a jogger. the razor scooter is alright, it's more compact and they have a lot of fancy features that I don't see on the xootr, however it's only big enough to rest one foot on and they have horribly tiny wheels, and for that reason I'm considering this xootr

You're a bloody legend Nutn. Inspired me to get off my butt and blow the redback spiders off my mountain bike. Probably safer for me than something unfamiliar with small wheels, I have fallen off motorbikes too often in the past and don't bounce real well anymore. Keep on Shooting and scootering.

I believe you made reference to the wildernessoutfitters dudein there, nice. He made some unfair comments about you. Also, you make dorky things look really cool. Now my wife is mad because I want to by a power kite and now I am looking at the Xootr scooter. You have encouraged me to get off my butt and go do stuff. My wife and I have gone on three trips in just two weeks. It feels good to get out and see the world. Thanks.

I bought one of these. I called over to xootr. the person that answered the phone extremely helpful. Something i was not aware of. Some times they get returns that are like new, open box or refurbished and they will sell at a discount. I was tempted to take the offer on a slightly used venus but opted for a new MG instead. We already have a micro and love that. Xootr has some interesting qualities. Cant deciede which I prefer. they are both great machines.

Awesome. You came to Jacksonville. Im 30min south of J-ville. If im not mistaken Jacksonville is the largest city of land. I have lived just outside of J-ville my whole life and if it wasnt for GPS i'd still be gettin lost. Glad you got to see some of J-ville. I hope you had a chance to see the Veterans Memorial wall. Glad to see you stayed safe. Jacksonville is full of crime.

"Most peoples lives wont be an adventure it doesnt mean their lives are nothing." Point taken however I do encourage adventure here at TNP. I frequently review items that make it possible and fun. Avoid the easy chair, let-life-pass-us-by syndrome and get out. That's what this video encourages. Moreover this type of adventure awaits you in any city and is cheap to pursue. If I can assist others in such fun, I am happy. Adventure isn't "crap" ... it should be a guy's lifeblood.

I've been a TNPer for a while and I can't believe I missed this video. It came up as a suggestion on the sidebar. I've been really researching push scooters for about a year. I think I'll end up with a Know-Ped by Go-Ped, but xootrs are cool too. Scooters are great. I do not own a zooter, but i do own a scooter. I have to vouch that this design is very effective in it's ability to be versatile. The design requires less effort compared to a skateboard, but you can travel a pretty nice distance like a bike! They aren't bulky like a bike and have the mobility similar to a skateboard, so you do not have to worry about finding a safe place to lock them up. You will likely get 3-4 times further than a skateboard which is nice if you wish to travel a lot.

As an owner of a xootr, it's gotten me across a college campus in minutes flat, stands up to all sorts of torment, and keeps on chuggin'. It's been almost 3 years since I got mine (same model) and i rode it every day throughout the campus.
you could always use roller blades if you refuse to ride a scooter, but i personally like the control and durability of the xootr. Yes, I've wiped out. No, I didn't have gloves. Big ow. It's as safe as you are.

Im 41 years old. I have 2 kids (little boys). They have Razor scooters and I cant keep up with them walking and I blow past them too fast on a mountain bike. I am ordering an adult kick scooter which is perfect! This video was very helpful for an older guy researching kick scooters. I also need the exercise & I hate jogging. Oh and I can throw 3 scooters in my car in seconds. I cant do that with bikes. I have decided on a GoPed Know Ped for its fatter quieter tires than the skinny xooter wheels

Good to see Nutnfancy take a stand on safety. Biking(and I would imagine also scootering) can be extremely dangerous inner-city. And unlike when being in a car, there are no metal cage to protect you. But the agility is so much fun!

I live on campus at my university and need a quick way of getting around while still being able to go up stairs and across street curbs as easily as I do with I'm on my legs. My commute is only about 3 miles a day back and forth. Would you recommend the Xootr for something like that--or a less extreme model?

Awesome video!!! I've been xootring for 10 years now on ther Street model and it's everything you said! I tend to average 13 - 14mph and pass bikes all the time, BUT I've never worn protective gear. You have me taking another look at that. Even though I have NEVER taken a tumble, it only takes once. I also don't do more than 8 miles at a time (I'm exhausted just with that!) but that's going to change. I've got a nice 15 mile route I'll do this weekend. 2 Questions: What gloves? Why GPS??

Curious about the blade a bit too, but did you have your gun on you nutn? I was kinda thinking that, when xootring through unfamiliar places (and a few scary places like you annotated) some weaponry for options would be good. Great vid, I gotta say, I did not see a scooter review coming.

@bluecollararmory We get a kick out of little guys that are entirely threatened by the fact that Nutn doesn't give a rip what they think. He just does his own thing. Someday when you grow up, maybe you will too. Thanks for the view. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

Update, talking to Mr. Kovalchik at Xootr: I did a mistake, because I used a lubricant on the bearings. I should not have done anything to the bearings, as they will be fine under all conditions...
Will report back if anything fails again, or rather- not any more!+
Thanks for your sharing Nutnfancy, thanks for Steve. It is a privilige to know you guys

Great video. Thanks Nutn! I am thinking of getting their "street" version with machined aluminum deck for more durability. What you do think - is that worth the extra weight?

Nice! I like your approach. This is more about the adventure aspect than the Xootr. I'm sure it will motivate a few people who need some motivation. Thanks.
