Hey just want to say thanks for making these videos,I mean you coulda just sat on all this awesome knowledge and talent but you really are a big help, thanks I really appreciate all the effort
if you're looking for a certain song i'd be happy to try my best at a tutorial but i unfortunately don't know if i can explain things any better than i have in the videos i've posted
put a balloon over the bridge and you’re good to go. it helps dampen some of the higher frequencies and clips the sustain a little. having a tiny parlor guitar will help too but this is my sister’s guitar and the strings probably haven’t changed since 2010 so i don’t know if that’s where the secret lies.
This channel is a gem. What do you think of Stickman by elliott smith? All the covers I watch seem to have something missing or something not quite right. Is that just a quirk of the song?
i haven’t watched people’s covers of stickman on here but if they’re like a lot of the other elliott covers on youtube, chances are there’s some stuff missing. the right hand is obviously very idiosyncratic and difficult to replicate and the chord shapes in most songs are creative and made-up and tricky to figure out. but that’s what makes learning them so fun.
Also thanks for teaching me Elliott's right hand style properly. Along with Dave van ronk, and stefan grossman, dick rosmini styles it really has helped to complete the picture. Means the world to me. x
bro you the goat, love your guitar, your voice, your vibe, thanks man
you have helped me so much with this style my friend. god bless you, your talent, and your finesse
I wonder if he sat around trying to perfect the way Elliott talks. No way he didn’t pick that up from Elliott.
