As a fellow asian also born and raised in the US, going to Mexico is truly another world, and i haven’t found another place quite as active or unashamed to be vibrant and themselves. Always ready to share their culture, food, and languages. People just seem to be more genuine in Mexico, especially when they have their big families around.
Always welcomed to Mexico every time you like! Here in Puebla city you should try chiles en nogada (by August)., tacos árabes, and gemirás poblanas with milanesa. I forgot to mention mérmelas with your choice of red or green chili sauce, enjoy and greetings!!
I love your asian heritage and probably have acquired language diversity. I'm trying to learn korean Japanese Vietnamese and Thai. With the Internet the whole world has become smaller in a sense just between us America's become very corrupt so It would be nice to know people that still have traditions
I’m not Mexican & I don’t normally watch anything like this but I always have time for anything Mexican … Mexico is my favourite place in this world. Me and my mother have many beautiful memories in this electric country. If you are Mexican and no longer in Mexico, I understand if you are homesick, you are the most beautiful people with the most beautiful culture and country. Honestly I miss that place every day of life …
@bulmae1128 thank you. that sounds amazing, I love plantains, my mothers Jamaican so we eat them a lot 😂😂 and yes I plan to travel all around Mexico one day !! I’m from England so will have to do quite a bit of planning xx
It is such an amazing country. My wife and I are moving to Mexico and officially leaving the US. Couldn’t be more excited to honor and take part in such an amazing culture. Viva Mexico!
As a local I’m so appreciative to hear someone on the internet differentiating Tex-mex from authentic Mexican food in such a detailed way, accurate representation at last😮💨
As a native El Pasoan, I really appreciate how you featured our sister cities. Our food and rich culture are so often overshadowed by the violence and immigration stories that the media prefers. Thank you Dooby!
Was NOT expecting to see my hometown in one of your videos. I'm glad you enjoyed Juarez and showed us in a positive light! We've had our issues but the people here are good and hardworking, thank you.
Young lady, you were outstanding in your presentation of the sister cities. You acted like a local, you have become an honorary El Paso and Juaritos resident.
You brought me to tears with this video as I am homesick, I haven't been to Juarez/El Paso since January and I miss it. Thank you for being so down to earth and humble and how you talked about both towns was just amazing, not everyone would cross the border. This video will be so special to me. 🙌🙏💙
Me gusta mucho ver a gente de otras culturas comer la comida Mexicana y la manera como la saborean!!A los mexicanos nos encanta también la comida Asiática
This is so beautiful!!! also Mexico is such a huge country filled with delicious foods that vary by region. In some parts of Mexico you are most likely to eat menudo or stews in general with tortillas, others with bread, and other regions eat their stews with red Mexican rice. Mexican cuisine goes way beyond and is so diverse.
I was born close to Mexican border, and I love that she shows such a love for our food (immediately clicked to watch while I make tostadas). Brings a huge smile to my face listening to her explain chonchas and empanadas (she should’ve tried a pumpkin one, never have been a a fan of the pineapple). Also her visiting the other side of the border! I loved this entire video.
I can’t believe you made it to my hometown El Paso lol. I’m actually in shock…because I have been watching your channel for years so from Korea to El Paso is so random but amazing at the same time. My father is from Juarez also and I’m happy you made it there too😊.
As a Mexican this is one of my favorite videos you’ve done, You are so respectful and polite SO SWEET! Glad you loved your burrito the avocado looked amazing in it, that’s what makes it every time.
as a Mexican from Texas currently in college on the east coast, this is the video i didn’t know i needed. i got weirdly emotional seeing all the food I was used to become ‘normal’ again. thanks for the representation on your channel! ur bringing home back to all of us
You kinda confused the hell out of me with that comment, it’s like saying I’m Chinese from Texas on the far west coast next to Oakland California north of Oregon to the east.
I'm glad that you enjoyed our food, the batter used for "Chiles Rellenos" is just egg. You Whip the egg white so it takes volume, then add the egg yolk and mix it. Then you take your "Chiles" previously roasted, peeled and stuffed with queso (cheese) cover them in flour and dip them on the egg, then you fry them on a pan with hot cooking oil.
The best burritos I've ever had were in Ciudad Juarez. They are way different than the rice filled mission burritos you see in Northern California. The ones I tried kept it simple: no more than maybe three ingredients. The less is more method worked so well--especially given how well prepared the ingredients were. So much good food in Chihuahua!
My first time watching you… so proud as a Mexican American to see it be appreciated. Thank you for the awesome content and looking forward to future content.
You know what is crazy, I just watched the video from the end of 2021 when you were supposed to go to Mexico and decided not to. And someone commented when you feel like this is when everything starts happening. Seeing you now is super cool that he was right and you have accomplished so much and were able to go to Mexico anyway. This made me hopeful that the same is going to happen to me.
Yea Dooby dropped a new video, it is so much fun watching your videos and I must say that this American tour has been awesome. Just love how you give each city an honest review from the heart. You are definitely one of the best content makers out there, can’t wait for the next video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍻🍻🍻
I lived in El Paso for three years in the early 80's and just loved it. The people, culture and the desert around the city nothing but great memories. I was told by a local that you always come back to El Paso, I haven't been back yet but after watching your video I really want to visit it again. Chico's Tacos was a favorite must stop for us. Thank you for the walk down memory lane.
Thank you from Texas. I loved this video!! Thank you for presenting our beautiful city with such kindness and honesty. Tex-Mex not only is a perfect description of our food, but it also represents our communities of people. We strive together to live in harmony/ It has been my pleasure to grow up and live with the wonderful people of my State. As I have traveled to many countries during my life (I even lived a year in South Korea which I loved) I can say, Texas and it's People are my Heart.
On your next visit, experience the tantalizing flavors of Mexico's cuisine by exploring the culinary delights of Yucatán and Oaxaca. From the aromatic spices of Yucatecan cuisine to the rich moles of Oaxaca, each region boasts a unique culinary tradition that will tantalize your taste buds. Don't miss out on the opportunity to savor the best food that Mexico has to offer!
As a Korean-American… My parents lived there for almost 30 yrs. Moved there from ATL,GA. They loved it. I have mixed feelings about ELP. My daughter was born there and that’s where I bought my first house, I have a feeling I must have been a Mexican, born and raised there, in a parallel life. 😂. I kept getting pulled back to ELP. ELP has been doing a lot to elevate the city, parts of downtown has changed soooooo much. The chilaquiles I love are different, tortillas with eggs, cheese, and green chiles. My friend’s husband makes the best and best refried beans ever, but they live in Tucson Arizona though. 😭🤣
I'm from Juarez and I got so excited when I saw the title of the video, I went to that burrito place since I was a little girl cuz my grandparents and parents knew the owner. It is a beautiful city and I am very happy you enjoyed, you're welcome back anytime ❤❤
As an El Pasoan, this was such a delight! Thank you for highlighting my wonderful city and culture so well. El Paso is so near and dear to my heart, there really is no other city like it!
Loved this video and how you supported and highlighted community businesses with long-standing roots. It's a wonderful way to honor the people in these cities who are keeping traditions alive and creating new ones!
Im from El Paso, havent been to Juarez in a good while, thank you for sharing their present beauty with me :). It made me super happy seeing the people, the culture and the liveliness.
You look so happy in this video. ❤ I'm a big foodie myself, and I'll be visiting Mexico for the first time coming March. I'm really looking forward to just trying ALL the things. The Mexican have such a wonderful eating culture.
They I went “omg Kevin’s there!” Answered my question of who was helping you film all these yunmy food trips too! Hope you both are enjoying your vacation 🎉
I used to live in El Paso many years ago and the food was always great everywhere you went. Every 20 feet regardless of what kind of food it is...there is always something delicious to eat. The only thing I miss about El Paso is the food and my relatives. Love your video! Thumbs UP and shared from Seattle, WA. A+++
I am happy that she is still deciding to upload videos on UA-cam , posting about herself and her day to day life, this is really adorable and somehow this becomes an absolute habbit to watch her, obsession is obvious but her gentle attitude towards everything make her more humane. Love the way she is.🫶🏻💠🖤
What an amazing work you’ve done in this video, I’m so happy watching you enjoying a side of Mexico and the food there hopefully you can go back and visit others parts of Mexico, blessings 🙏🙏🙏
Definitely like your video! As a Mexican-American, I enjoy this type of food all the time. Just for future reference, CH in Spanish is pronounced the same as you would say 'cheese' but SH is different since the H in Spanish is silent, with the exception of CH. When you say 'deshebrada' it's actually pronounced des-e-BRA-da because of the silent H.
I’m so happy that you went on this trip and that you were adventurous enough and open minded to cross to Mexico. I’m from Ciudad Juarez and I’m so happy that you enjoyed our food, there is so much history in between this two towns and much more to see but I loved every second of this video, very well made and the storytelling was impressive👏👏👏 next time try “La Pila” in Ciudad Juárez which sells flautas and you’ll love it👍
Ok but south America starts in Colombia, from Guatemala ande Belice to Panamá is central america, Mexico is still north America, it’s better to say Latinamerica
As a Mex American I couldn’t be more happy to have all fellow Americans of all backgrounds to enjoy old Mexico! I can assure you the mi casa es tu casa goes for all!.
Doobyyy what an incredible series! I wish you could travel the whole world and take us with you. I'd love to see a back-to-Seoul vlog as well. Much much love
OMG! What a surprise! It makes me happy to see someone visiting Juarez! If you had the chance to come another time, I'll gladdly offer me to give you a super tour on the city to visit more traditional places, restaurants, show you historical places, the night life on the city and so on! As you say, 24 hours it's not enough but surely we can make a fantastic video! Thanks for visiting our city!
I thought Kevin was back in Seoul, looking after the restaurant while you were galavanting around the US 😅😂 Great to see him enjoying all the culinary adventures too 👍
Fantastic video. I love this travel channel, city and food exploration format. And as a New Mexican, I think you did a wonderful job showcasing the differences in the food and cultures. Very similar but different.
Theres something romantic and comforting about mexico and the desert at night that you encapsulated perfectly! I knew i stumbled onto a special channel a while back!
The green tamal sauce is not w poblano :) it’s made w tomatillo verde which is like a sort of mini green tomato and it’s used in all of Mexico it’s not a thing just in the North :) poblano doesn’t give off that vibrant almost neon green and it also doesn’t give off that acidity
Wow love your detail you provide of each food you eat and love how you try to say the names in Spanish! 👍 I can tell you are a connoisseur of good food! I now want to go visit El Paso and Juarez! I think you need to do a tour of some of the best cities in Mexico, the food is out of this world depending on the state and city you are in. Example, In Oaxaca is the capitol of the most variety and amazing red chile pods in the world and they have over 30 types of Mole you can try! Take care and enjoy life and great food!
Great video Dooby! 1st time I noticed your food tour of El Paso/ Juarez area, I have family there, I’m from Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, The three cultures City: Mestizo, Mennonite and Tarahumara. The food looked delicious! The green chile in the tamales and chile relleno burrito is chile chilaca, also known as Anaheim green peppers, widely grown in the state of Chihuahua, and the orchata is basically made with rice and water! Juarez is where the burritos were invented! I enjoyed your adventure very much! Wonderful takes and scenery from Franklin Mountain! Street scenes and food locations are awesome! Thank you for sharing such unique experience! Keep on Doobupping! 👍Blessings! 🌻
Love this video and your love for Mexican food, few things were wrong but the one that bugs me the most is people think that tripe is intestines, The Tripe in the menudo is the stomach. Tripa tacos are intestines and that’s where the confusion comes from. I love menudo so every time I have to convince someone to try it I have to explain this, its a common misunderstanding 😅
@@Jazminzesati I mean, for my family, a chile relleno is a stuffed, battered, fried chile. Did they put that stuffed, battered, fried chile inside the tamal? 🤷🏻♀️
VIVA EL PASO MI CUIDAD SIEMPRE! I have been putting off watching this because it makes me so very homesick! You went to many of my favorite places in El Paso, that’s the side of town I grew up in! Manhattan Heights is where my grandparents bought their house, raised my mom, her siblings and then me and my siblings and lived for 70+ years. This summer my grandpa passed and we are selling their home in that area. His favorite restaurant was Kiki’s and it hit me hard seeing you go- it’s a family tradition to eat there for us. To hear you talk about your love for the city had me in tears, I felt beyond represented and am very touched by this video… my childhood in a nutshell- THANK YOU!
hey, that hortacha must have been made with rice and not tigernuts… because it is Spanish horchata which is made with tigernuts. As for mexican one, i think it is made with rice, cheers!
Im Mexican and I am so proud of you for knowing your Mexican dishes. I love how well detailed you explain how each dish is made. It’s like you have some Mexican in you ❤ great job 👏🏼
That was a surprise to see the menudo have hominy in Mexico. They typically don’t add it like in the US . Also I have NEVER ever seen it served with bread lol, I want it now! 😊
I’m sorry what?? I’m in Texas and eveyone here prepares it with hominy? Where are you stateside? Edit. Oh you meant in Mexico they don’t add it. Ohh wow
They mostly serve menudo blanco with bread (bolios) in Mexico City. In California we use bolios or corn tortillas with menudo & call flautas: taquitos, & are only served with guacamole-avocado. Not in a soup. We were surprised visiting my husband’s dad’s family in El Paso to eat this different style. Everything floating that’s called Brandao (bath). Now that we live nearby we make our own that we grew up with in Los Angeles. The Chinese markets sell the concha pandulce because both countries were influenced by the French.
Your video popped up on my UA-cam main page and I immediately clicked it! I’m from El Paso and your video was awesome 🥹 it’s true with all the comments. People like to talk sh*t about our city and jrz too but it’s a beautiful city with hard working nice people, we’re very diverse and our city is worth visiting to see how the border city actually is. Thank you for this video and your kind words ❤️ idk how I don’t follow you because I watch so many food and travel on UA-cam but I am now!
My best friend proposed to his wife in Puerto Vallarta. Best vacation I’ve been on. The locals were very friendly and the food was great. I live in California so there are plenty of Mexican food places around but authentic Mexican food taste nothing like the usual Mexican food at home. My friend suggested a few places that sells something similar but the prices are on the expensive end.
I’m so happy you visit my lovely Mexico, you should visit Oaxaca, Puebla and Guanajuato, they are beautiful cities and the food is amazing. Regards from Tamaulipas Mexico
How about Queretaro? I didn’t know any about that city until Viva Aerobus announced nonstop flights from San Antonio to Queretaro and I’ve been fascinated with visiting there ever since.
I live in Juarez, and if you ever come back, let me show you what's there to visit in this city :) Many consider Juarez to be a night-life place only, but there's a lot more here to experience the authentic Norteño life. That said, probably you don't need my guide, as you very accurately visited Chico's tacos and La Nueva Central, like a true local. Also, thank you so much for showing Juarez and El Paso as they are. Not many people get out of the classics like Mexico City, Cancun and Guadalajara (to name a few), and miss out on the wonders the north has to offer.
I'm here in SF, known for our Mission burrito... I'm sure a bunch of people are going WTH with the burritos, although you can get that style in the video driving just 2 hours to Salinas.
The thing about Chico's is always ask a local how we eat it. You're supposed to eat the tacos (flautas) with a fork, so you don't get the sauce all over your hands and fingers. You were right in pouring the green salsa into the taco boat, but the pro (and local) move is to dip and scoop the leftover red / green salsa and cheesy goodness with your fries. It doesn't get better than that. The hot dog is also a local thing, so most out of towners won't get it. Understandable. I liked it when I was a kid. ;) Kiki's is bomb and you ordered some hits, but they're known for their Machaca plate which is legendary. Besides a Mexa, only a Korean would truly appreciate a bowl of Menudo. 😂 El Centenario (and El Compa across the street) are the OG and best burritos in J-Town. You're very fortunate to have tried them. Legend has it that one of the pans used there is 75 years old! More impressive is they survived the cartel wars of the early 2000s. BTW, Topo is the king of sparkling waters.
Interesting because i am from California about an 2 hours up from Mexico. The mexican food we have in the area is all considered Tex Mex. I always thought Tex Mex is just the US/Mexican mix that becomes our normal “Mexican food” Crazy how when she crossed into Mexico even the Chilaquiles was soooo different from the US version. We have the California burrito that adds fries & in Oregon they have their own version but eith potatoes.
i dont understand why "tex mex" is even a term, they add cheddar cheese and ground beef on mexican food and decided to call it something else. It's funny. @@marb5110
I’m so happy you decided to cross to Juarez, try some of the delicious food and spoke only of the positive aspects. Mexico as a whole is such a vibrant and wonderful country, You will be amazed with the loving people, vibrant culture and vast and delicious cuisine if you decide to continue traveling to different states of Mexico.
I’m from El Paso TX and it was so nice to see all the old spots. You couldn’t have picked any better. Thank you for your honest review of my home town!
Wow I am from Juarez and I moved to Japan to escape from the danger… I was just not comfortable there. But I do miss some things and my family lives there! Also I’m dying for an authentic burrito from Juarez and chilaquiles 😭

Horchata is usually made with white rice not Tiger nuts!
In Spain they make it with tiger nuts and the taste is completely different.
That's relative as I was told, it used to be made from melon seeds, and then it switched to rice.

@@danieladarcangelo741 I'm from El Paso and am Mexican. Like I said.
I am happy that she is still deciding to upload videos on UA-cam , posting about herself and her day to day life, this is really adorable and somehow this becomes an absolute habbit to watch her, obsession is obvious but her gentle attitude towards everything make her more humane. Love the way she is.🫶🏻💠🖤
Was excited to see Juárez and El Paso as a local!!! There’s a lot of super good food and desert joints. Glad you came over and enjoyed your visit :D
What an amazing work you’ve done in this video, I’m so happy watching you enjoying a side of Mexico and the food there hopefully you can go back and visit others parts of Mexico, blessings 🙏🙏🙏
I love the way you explained the ingredients of each food perfectly 👍🏼👌🏼👏🏼🙏🏻😎
Yaaay! I’m happy that you came to visit El Paso! El Paso is my Hometown and it brought a smile to know that you enjoyed Mexican food 🇲🇽 🎉
On the day I’m traveling to Mexico for the first time, Dooby posts this. Let it be a sign for my amazing food adventures to come
I’m so happy that you went on this trip and that you were adventurous enough and open minded to cross to Mexico.
I’m from Ciudad Juarez and I’m so happy that you enjoyed our food, there is so much history in between this two towns and much more to see but I loved every second of this video, very well made and the storytelling was impressive👏👏👏 next time try “La Pila” in Ciudad Juárez which sells flautas and you’ll love it👍
I was born and raised in El Paso and going to Juarez every weekend are some of my favorite memories. The food in Juarez is 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Wish you success on the path you have chosen🌹💝
PLEASE COME TO MEXICO CITY.
I’m sure you’re gonna love the looks and the street food too. You won’t regret it
Mexico city looks like the most underrated city in the world. Its on the top of my list of cities to visit.
@Doobydobap Let us know, best regards!
@@pillarofdawn Not quite sure about that. But if you're earning dollars, Mexico city's gonna be really cheap for you.
If doobie starts on a food journey in south America, oh boy, she's gonna fall in love (and we get a lot of quality content)
Yea seriously, she should goto Boton Rouge.
Ok but south America starts in Colombia, from Guatemala ande Belice to Panamá is central america, Mexico is still north America, it’s better to say Latinamerica
Truer words never spoken!
As a Mex American I couldn’t be more happy to have all fellow Americans of all backgrounds to enjoy old Mexico! I can assure you the mi casa es tu casa goes for all!.
I'm from Juarez, but currently living in the US. As I watch this video I started missing my city a lot! Especially the best burritos in the world 🤤
Just a nice video showing the culture and food of both cities. Great job
I love your cooking videos.
I love your restaurant videos.
But these travel food videos are the best.
More please and thank you!!! ❤❤❤
I thought Kevin was back in Seoul, looking after the restaurant while you were galavanting around the US 😅😂 Great to see him enjoying all the culinary adventures too 👍
we can all agree that be love it when she posts
Fantastic video. I love this travel channel, city and food exploration format. And as a New Mexican, I think you did a wonderful job showcasing the differences in the food and cultures. Very similar but different.
Theres something romantic and comforting about mexico and the desert at night that you encapsulated perfectly! I knew i stumbled onto a special channel a while back!
Thank you for speaking so kindly of both our cities! Great vid
Your respect for people and culture speaks volumes about who you are as person 🙏🏼
👍Blessings! 🌻
Like I always say in every video of yours… I’m proud of you fam, thanks for trying new things and not being afraid of trying different foods
MEX MEX vs TEX MEX! Love this video and you are so adventurous! Appreciate how comfortable you are in different cultures. Mexico is food paradise!
I have to explain to people too that tripe is the lining of the stomach. Intestines are completely different.
I was confused when she said that the tamales rajas con queso were filled with chiles rellenos.
@@sevenandthelittlestmewim mexican but I really don’t know, she maybe say that cause they use the same chile?
I feel represented thank you Dooby 😩🫶
Indian lived in Cali for a couple of years and i ate all those food . I miss that . This video was so fun and loved all of it . thanks for bringing .
While your restaurant was failing, you're vacationing and relaxing LOL
The way you describe the food in my city and our neighboring city and show it's scenery brings me joy. Very beautifully put.
hey, that hortacha must have been made with rice and not tigernuts… because it is Spanish horchata which is made with tigernuts. As for mexican one, i think it is made with rice, cheers!
Really amazing episode! Really saw how much respect you show to the places you visit!
*Imagining you and Kevin traveling South America*
Grande Tina💙
Bendiciones familia🙏🙏🎻
Nice I like Mexico .. they got very good authentic food .. wish I had money to visit
You brought tears 😢 to my eyes seeing my lovely city, especially our proud tradition CHICO's TACOS.
I live in Juarez, and if you ever come back, let me show you what's there to visit in this city :)
Many consider Juarez to be a night-life place only, but there's a lot more here to experience the authentic Norteño life.
I’m a California-Mexican and I’ve heard so amazing things about Tex Mex food! I want to try that weenie chili burger and fries yummy
It's funny. @@marb5110
you should try southern and central mexican food!! you´ll find so much more diversity and complexity
Ah caray! Me saque de onda de que es en Jrz haha casi nadie turistea aquí I hope u enjoyed!
THIS is how you appreciate cultures. Us Mexicans don’t get offended with “cultural appropriation” so pls go nuts. Enjoy Mexico.
You definitely captured the essence of our border community. The people, culture, food and beauty. Thank you!
The Mexican Tamales were the WAH bomb. 🫔
