you can find a logitech shifter or alibaba shifter and handbrake wich this channel has also covered, if you want a better shifter and handbrake you will have to sacrifice a lot and get a t300 wich i dont think is sworth it
I felt this was super out of touch with the average person getting into sim racing. No human should be spending this much money on something unless they are 100% confident they're going to be deep into the hobby, or budget isn't an issue. Personally for anyone looking to 'get started' in 2024. Go onto marketplace, and pick up a used g27 or g29 rig for less than $150. Gives you time to confirm you enjoy and offers a bloody brilliant value for money proposition. Once you're stuck in, then you can think about spending $700+ on something you know you'll love if it's in your budget.
I think this is a good video for your 2nd sim setup. Used G27, G29, driving force gt, to start for sure. That said, if you already have experience sim racing (say at a friend's house) and are sure you want to continue with the hobby, I do think you should skip the G27 and go for a $7-800 setup. I had a G27 for years, and recently upgraded to an alpha mini and simjack pro pedals. The difference is huge and I wish I would've made the upgrade much sooner. You can probably be just as fast with a G27, but a dd wheel and load cell pedals makes for a much better feel, more akin to driving a real car.
I do agree that if you have never raced anything this is quite high spending when you can start with a G29 strappede to your desktop so you get a feel for how it is racing. also i feel that he is disregarding the Moza R5 bundle. In my country its only about 120$ more expensive and there is night and day difference in those sets. Personally i'm disregarding my own advice a bit. 20 years i had a stearin wheel for racing it was without force feedback or anything else. but it was hard getting it to work and having to set it up and take down all the time ment that i didn't use i to much. But ever since that time i have wanted a dedicated rig and every time i had the opportunity to jump in one i did. Now my oldest kid have moved away from home and i finally have the space to build a setup. So i'm going to buy a cockpit, find a 50+ tv to put on the wall and then go for a Moza R5 set. Yes i dont know if im going to use it as much as i hope but i have to give it a go.
I couldn't agree more. I started with the G29 cause I wanted a wheel that I could use on my PC and PlayStation5. Now that I'm hooked I'm looking at these more expensive upgrades. Tho my big game of choice is American Trucking Sim. the one of choice for me is gonna be the Moza for the fact they offer a truck wheel. And they have a packaged deal for $689. I'll just have to pick up the truck wheel later down the road. No pun intended lol. But yeah get a cheaper wheel to make sure you're gonna spend some actual time using it otherwise it could turn into money wasted in the corner of your space.
Yeah, something like a used T300, with t3pa pedals. Clamped to your desk, or if you want, bolted to a cheap and dirty 2x4 custom rig (those cost like 40$ and an evening of work) and a junkyard car seat. If you want an H-pattern coupled with an SHH newt. You're talking less than the cost of just the motor for the direct drive offerings. And are gonna have plenty of fun. You can then upgrade later when you get a better idea of what your looking for. Personally id avoid G27/G29 because they're less powerful and less smooth than the t300 and on the used market, at least where i live, usually around the same price.
@@AIIu_ yeah? started means started out so he's making a video for the people who's starting out the hobby to get the best experience without paying too much for something you don't know if you're gonna like
@@viktorvikit5788 Yes that's the video, what do you mean? I'm just clarifying that this isn't a video for someone who's looking for a cheap starter pack.
@@trihard42069 It's called hindsight buddy... This video is based off of hindsight since he is already experienced. How hard is this for you guys to understand?
Note :- The title might suggest it but this video is not recommended for beginners who are unsure if sim racing is their hobby or not. This video felt super out of touch from reality of an average person thinking about starting sim racing. Get a second hand g29/g920 or other options in that price range and if your budget allows T300 rs Gt for PS5 as it will be far more cheaper and will give you a great entry point into sim racing. Also, some of my friends who compete on top levels still use g29 with upgraded load cell for brake pedals. Spending $1000 on a hobby you are not sure about isn't smart in any way.
Yea upgrading your sim setup doesn’t necessarily make you faster and that shoudn’t be the reason to upgrade. Like you mentioned, also with a G29 you can make it to the top of the leaderboard. I would upgrade from my G29 purely for the experience and extra enjoyment of simracing.
You should at least get a direct drive set up, otherwise you’re not getting the true experience of sim driving/racing. A used Moza R5 is a great start, you can couple that with a set of cheap pedals and H shifter.
this whole sets you recomended is far beyond the 1000 dollar mark. No one is spending over 1000 dollars just to try out sim driving/racing Edit: why the hell am i the top comment and how?!
@Envixitynix2211 So I bought a wheel with pedals and shifter with shipping for less then $450...sooooo....yea your wrong.....www.alibaba.com/product-detail/PXN-V12lite-bundle-direct-drive-gaming_1600730643594.html?spm=a2700.find_similar.normal_offer.d_image.25495f93AIVCqH
@Envixitynix2211bruh for ENTRY a logitech g29 with a shifter is all you need which you can get for less then 400. You don’t need to spend 400 on that bs unless you know this hobby is going to be something you want to do long term, then you get shit like that.
$400 US is around $600 Canadian. This is $200 more than I spent for my entire initial setup. The problem I have with most racing channels is that their ideas of 'budget' is mid to high tier for most people starting out.
I never said these were “budget” recommendations. In this video I give my thoughts on the best value (in terms of bang for your buck comparing dollar spent versus value gained). Never did I say these were budget friendly recommendations…
@@OCRacing Well if you target it for new people it makes sense they don't want to pour in $2k+ dollars immediately. It's like recommending a car for new drivers and telling them to buy 2024 Honda Civic. Don't get me wrong these recommendations are great, but I don't think they are for new sim racers, more for already "experienced" sim racers who really want to get deep into the sim racing. TLDR - If you aim it for new commers it makes sense they'll look for budget options.
@@OCRacingYour title says people who are just starting. if someone is just starting they wouldn’t want to pour acouple thousand let alone 500 or more into this. Should change the title to something else. Something for a beginner would be something like a G29 with a shifter then if they find out they like the hobby and are into it they upgrade into stuff like you mentioned in the video. Imagine the people who watched this vid and bought expensive shit just for them to fall out of the hobby a month in. I feel like directing this video to new people is wack. The guy original comment and the guy above me are right 100%
I got a bundle with a playseat for 300 used, but it retails for 300 euro new, decent pedals and good belt driven wheel. Please don't buy logitech g29 idk why everyone still recommends it
If you’re looking for a more budget setup to see if you will like sim racing here is what I did. Fanatec csl dd ready to race bundle with the base pedals and steering wheel - $400 Wood rig - $70 Miata seat - $60 Old tv - Free This is what I would start with because if you do like sim racing (you probably will) you will be glad you bought a direct drive. Although it doesn’t come with clutch and shifter you can make that upgrade for < $100 I bought the fanatec csl dd clutch kit and the muge Amazon shifter
I am just starting and today I ordered an Moza R12 base, a CS V2P wheel, CRP pedals and a stand for the set. I believe these are more than enough for a starter.
The CRP pedals are really unimpressive for the price though and the R12 is weaker than supposedly 10nm simagic alpha mini. I blame moza for false advertising
@@wangte27 CRP pedals are beyond unimpressive. They are very uncomfortable, difficult to make adjustments and too high for my feet but you can't adjust height. So I ordered a p1000i set. R12 was very good but I changed it to R21 just out of curiosity. R21 feels only slightly better than R12. But I at least I have extra capacity in case I need it. I loved the CS V2 wheel. But since it didn't go well with F1 games I got an FSR F1 wheel for them. I loved it too. Moza products are better priced than Simagic while having similar quality and performance. The quality of the CRP pedal set is very good too but it's poorly designed.
I'd say these options are still NOT ENTRY LEVEL IMO and NOT for those who want to start out with sim racing (this is so out-of-touch to an average) but rather just for those who have decided to drop themselves into the rabbit hole. Depending on where you are, these are NOT AFFORDABLE and not everyone have deep pockets for these options. A used G29 or T300 should suffice.
Yes, I went Alpha Mini. It uses 18bit high resolution encoders for a start which achieve 264K, not the 15bit medium resolution encoders you get with the R5, R9 and R12 which make only 32K. This results in NO cogging when you turn the wheel on the Mini and is really smooth plus stronger ffb than the others mentioned. I also use it with the GT Neo wheel and VRS pedals. Just an awesome combination.
Exactly this but OC doesn't even mention this. Or the fact that of these, only Simagic can feature 360hz FFB on iracing and can be mounted any which way without having to pay more for mounts.
@@kevinblythe2192 any chance you know what Logitech g pro wheel is? im making my decision between them and fanatec since i dont have many options as a ps and pc user wanting to utilize both otherwise id hands down go alpha mini
@@CoastGaming No I don't but the recent takeover of Fanatec by Corsair inspires confidence and would seem a very good place to start looking given consol and pc compatibility. A proven product line with a small profile so as not to obscure the screen in any way. Plenty of youtube reviews to check out and a good choice of accessories. Good luck choosing what is right for you.
I've used the Moza HGP before, and it was nothing but issues. It would need constant re-calibrating due to going from neutral into 4th gear not working, and constantly losing it's place where shifting into 1st gear would put you in 3rd gear. I heard that fanatec's shifter has the same issue. Simagic' H-shifter, on the other hand, has worked perfectly fine since I got it. If you want a more reliable H-shifter that won't need constant fixing, go for that instead. Its more than double the price of Moza but 100% worth it.
huh.... i actually had this same issue with my old logitech g29 shifter annoyed me so much i just bought a generic shifter interesting to know it happened on a moza HGP shifter
Eh... I purchased my Fanatec shifter back in November for a steal of a deal thanks to Black Friday and been using it since it was delivered in early December. Haven't had any issues with it after 7 months. Granted, I don't slam my gears as I'm sure those with issues probably do.
This is a very niche scenario, but if you're gaming on Linux, the CSL DD has community drivers that work really well, I am currently using these drivers as I fully switched to Linux. I used my CSL DD on a dual booted Windows a few months ago so I can compare, and it feels exactly the same with community drivers on Linux. As far as direct drive wheels go, I think Moza doesn't really work under Linux so if that's your use case, consider going with the CSL DD. ACC works well, I am having fun on LFM with it on Linux. AMS2 works great as well, so does rFactor 2. iRacing TECHNICALLY can work well, but the anticheat blocks the ability to play iRacing. I will be trying to reach out to the team as recently they switched to a new AC and for like a week it was possible to run iRacing on Linux but they patched something and now it kicks you as soon as you join a session.
I think its important to consider yes the simagic alpha mini is more expensive the the moza r9 or the fanatec csl DD, but it also is a more powerful base. The moza r9 has a peak of 9nm, the csl DD is 5 nm or 8 nm with the boost kit, but the simagic alpha mini is 10nm, and thats sustained torque not peak. For the price of $539 to get 10 nm sustained is a good deal. (Also their pedals are some of the best in the business too, you just review the p1000 pedals)
You make a good point, thank you for the insight. Honestly I feel as though you really can’t go wrong with any of those three (R9, CSL DD, Alpha Mini). The performance difference between them is also extremely minimal
Plus the new neo wheel is on par in price with the moza and fanatec wheels you suggested and arguably an upgrade in quality. I love my mini. Sustained would probably work out to around 12 to 13 peak, which is actually significant. Also, with Fanatec, if you want to use a 3rd party wheel and get force feedback, you need to purchase a quick release AND a $150 podium hub, only need a qr with the other 2 products.
Im not sure how much the R9 is in dollars but the difference isnt worth it for an extra nm in the UK. The R9 is much better value here and still an amazing wheel base. Especially for a similar price to something like a thrustmaster for example
I respect this guy's opinion immensely, but I have to disagree on the wheelbase. If you can afford the extra cash spend it here and go with the alpha mini. He says it's no much of an upgrade but with the 5-pole servo motor and higher bit rate encoder I genuinely think it's more than worth the ~$100
Hey I appreciate it. Looking at the specs the Alpha mini is better, as you mentioned. However, I’ve found that in-game, apart from feeling a bit more powerful at its highest FFB setting, the detail and overall feedback is very very similar. To some, that added torque may be worth the extra price and that’s totally fair. However, when you also take into account that simagic’s wheels are also (for the most part) more expensive than most of Fanatec’s or Moza’s, it begins to turn the tables a bit. Furthermore, Fanatec has integrated Xbox compatibility on many wheels thus allowing the CSL DD to work on that console and Moza is beginning to do the same - two other factors I took into consideration and thus came up with my final recommendation. At the end of the day though, all three are excellent.
As a Fanatec user, I'd personally recommend staying away from the P1 V2 as the material on it feels very cheap since it's made out of rubber of some kind, I put nearly 200hrs into it before I noticed even a minimal amount of wear so it is sturdy. However, if you'd like a wheel that you'll actually enjoy driving with then I'd recommend the Clubsport Steering Wheel RS. It is $300 so a little over twice as much as the P1, however you will easily enjoy it more and get more use out of it
Me too. I know he’s a student but he’s younger looking than I would’ve expected. The production level of his content stands among the best of the best in the sim racing community so it’s on me and my old ass for assuming such high quality content came from someone older.
Perfect timing, I just bought a cockpit and seat but haven’t bought any tech yet, I’m about to donate my G920 setup to a buddy and go direct drive/load cell. I have a NLR F-GT Elite 160 as it was on sale for the same price as a normal Elite
@oc Racing ty for the video touched base on alot of different things i have been wondering about its nice to see all the different set ups that are out there keep up the good work
I went with fanatec dd pro for gt7 and all in with fanatec shifter fanatec handbrake v3 padels and the csl p1 v2 wheel. I'm really having a blast with this new hobby for me
New to the Sim racing community and unsure about compatibility. For example can I use a Fanatec pedals with a wheel base and wheel of another brand or does it all have to be from the one brand? Any insight would be much appreciated.
Overall, these recommendations are great. I use an R9/ES Steering Wheel on my desk, and I can say that I probably would have put the ES Steering wheel as the pick for MOZA. While the wheel is smaller, you can buy a 12-in wheel mod from the website for $80 dollars, which would total $210, being cheaper than the CS V2P. I also do a lot of formula racing and it also comes with a formula wheel mod so you get a 2 in 1 and don't have to swap out.
@@nxm_bops Dan Suzuki tested the newer version (v3) and tested 13.5 nm. Nearly all the reviews are about the newer version and Dan said that this wheelbase literally does everything better than R12.
That's a rumor that's been dispelled officially. So you might want to stop perpetuating it unless you have evidence to back it up which no one has @@nxm_bops
So your video suggest the entry point is +/- 2k$ + PC + Monitor or VR. ? I would say it would be nice to have a video about the lowest entry cost set-up worth putting together as in force-feedback wheel, cell brake pedal, simple steering wheel, VR headset. Why VR you say? Immensely cheaper than a 3 monitor setup, much more enjoyable experience, much less real estate needed, Often comes with speakers and microphone, no need for fancy looking gear as you are not seeing them with the VR on.
Usually on PC, with the general exception of steering wheel A from wheelbase B, yes. On console, no - you must use all from the same manufacturer who is offering Xbox or PS support
I wonder why recommending Fantec hardware hence they're bankrupt and they'll need a lot of time to recover their loses. So go for Moza, Thrustmaster or even logitech imo.
Running the Fanatec CSL ready to race set with LC and an aftermarket Aliexress 8nm brick. SHH Thorn Shifter, Simjack E-brake and just bought the McLaren V2 as an additional wheel. Couldn't be happier with this combo 😊
@@OCRacing using the ali boostkit for about 7 month now, absolutely no issues. Comparing the cost to the og fanatec, I really think it's a no brainer to recommend it for about 1/5 of the price.
Handbrake alone for 200 lol. You can buy a second hand logitech g29 for that price with the h shifter and pedals to go with. Anyone who wants to try sim racing should just go with a g29. It is by far the best value package and will service you well for any sort of driving: track, rally or street racing. If this is just a hobby to you then the g29 is all you'll ever need.
@@jauhis_ yeah, my point is not to get the g29 my point is that following this videos advice is awful and something like a g29 or thrustmaster will serve you wsll
Try buying this in other country. All of this in Brazil has very high price. This setup would cost around R$6.000,00 and our minimun national wage is R$1.400,00 month
What is the minimum recommendation for NM for the wheelbase? I guess the higher the better but where is the minimum that still gives you a realistic feel, force feedback or whatever.
For everyone freaking out about the total price i hate to tell you but the best bang for buck in sim racing is really around the 500 dollar mark. You can go cheaper for sure but its still going to be a few hundred dollars and there is real benefits to going up to that 500~ mark aka direct drive with real torque and a load cell brake. Id start by looking on marketplace and try and find a deal but a lot of this stuff is solid and holds its value. If you arent sure you are going to be that into it get a used logitec but just remember buy once cry once.

bought the R3 as soon as Moza re released it, unfortunately a plastic inside the USB port in the Wheel Base and ive been going back and forth with Moza for 2 months on trying to get a fix. It took them a month to send me a new motherboard and even sent me a video on how to replace it. Problem was that the wheel base they used to show me how to switch out the motherboard in the wheel base was completely different to the R3 and did not tell me i needed wire soldering tools. So now we opted to send me a shipping label to send back my bundle and when they receive it they'll send me a new R3 bundle. I genuinely have no words, i thought customer service wasn't that bad at Moza but the really slow email replies and that whole wrong wheel base being used to show me how to replace a motherboard thing was just annoying. In the video they sent it as all just unscrew the old and screw back on the new. But there was a gold peice in the R3 that was NOT in the video they sent and it was a grey peice. said peice was keeping me from completing the switch. Im getting tired of this I just want to use my wheel lol
From someone who lives in Canada and plays on console (PS5), a tip of advice for other Canadians, you're much better off getting the Logitech G Pro DD wheel instead of the Fanatec ones. While the ecosystem is definitely better, if you're like me and don't really care about having 2-3 different wheels and all the other accessories, then it's perfectly fine. Logitech also said that more offerings are going to be available in the future and the Logitech G Hub software on PC recently got updated with notes that included support for a future ecosystem, so it may be coming soon. The base itself is more powerful than the cheapest Fanatec bundles, even when combined with the Pro Pedals. Fanatec doesn't sell the 5NM version by itself, it forces you to get the more expensive 8NM version if you just want the wheel base, and then you still have to get a rim and pedals. The bundle isn't that great either since the pedals it offers is legitimate dogshit and you WILL most likely upgrade to a load cell anyways. and the MOST important thing is that Logitech has free shipping to Canada. Fanatec is notoriously bad with shipping costs and mis-marking the quantity of what you bought so whenever it reaches Canadian Customs, they make you pay a SHIT TON of duty and taxes on it, raising the price to insane levels.
I started with Logitech G29 with Logitech Playseat. If i continue doing sim racingvdown the road i will do a upgrade. These options he talks about is not a good choice for people getting into simvracing and or on console. Moza and PxG dont support ps5 and barely support xbox. Im glad he said his opinion.
Imo if it’s your first setup just go for a second hand Logitech setup, it won’t depreciate much so if you end up not using it as much as you’d think you or if you want to upgrade later, you ll basically not lose any money
Yeah, FANATEC takes forever to show up. Customer service takes two days or more to respond. Ordered FANATEC, never showed, tried to cancel, they said they couldn't because it shipped. Magically received tracking number next day. Refused the delivery and I am currently in month two of fighting for my money back. Went on a site out of California, ordered Moza, had it in two days. No issues.
Hey, my old plywood rig made the video (7:03)! Great recommendations. It's worth it in the long run to spend a bit more up front then upgrading later. I'm on my third wheelbase, third wheel rim, and third set of pedals. I'm currently running a Fanatec CSL DD, Clubsport RS wheel, Aseteck Forte pedals, Moza shifter, and Simlab EVO rig. I'm pretty happy with my setup, don't forsee any more upgrades for a while.
I see many people talking about this video not being budget friendly so I would like to do my own take on this, yes, this video shares many products that are expensive and for many people starting out, it might seem that it is just stupid to spend this much money trying something new. But like he said in the beginning, this is his own personal list. As someone who started on a g29 and worked my way up to a fantec 8nm wheel, i can see why he would say to go right to a expensive fanatec wheel, the g29 I started on is around 250 dollars with discounts. This wheel is ok but nothing like real simracing, yes a g29 can give you a great starting point and you can be very fast on a g29, just a higher NM wheel feels more realistic and different, also the g29 being made of plastic and a very small wheel doesnt help... Also the fanatec csl dd 5 nm can be upgraded with a powercord on amazon for 55 bucks to the 8nm version and also the ready to race bundle gets you a great deal for a direct drive base, wheel and pedals for 400 ish. And yes, he talks about many other expensive add-ons like a shifter or a cockpit, but depending on what driving you do, I never use a shifter unless im drifting or rally driving, and i built a cockpit with a bunch of 2x4's and a beach chair. This hobby might not be for everyone, I personally love it because I love cars and its a way to race cars without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars. I would say don't buy if you dont like racing or cars but if you watch some sort of racing or know cars somewhat go for it, also the 2nt market is strong for wheels, so if you use it once and never use it again, sell it.
Any recommendations under €250 that have force feedback, all 3 pedals and shifter included? I mention FFB because my current wheel (Hori RWA) has no FFB, or anything I mentioned
Im on the floor, and im thinking of upgrading my g29 pedals with trustmaster t lcm is ok, or should i save a little more for moza crps because i like the moza ecosystem ?Thanks.
just a question. If you just started Sim Racing why would you buy an expensive DD wheel when you can buy a G29 or G923 to try them before you decide if you want to buy a DD wheel.
you shouldn't. It's bad advice. Go buy a $150 rig on marketplace to make sure you want to get fully into the hobby first. If you enjoy that, think about a DD wheel.
I felt the same, i bought the same kit as you, and also the alurig he recommends, i went with 3x 27" monitors aswell. :) Got everything in house besides the rig, hopefully it comes soon :D
didnt even know it was less than half an hour since upload, damn. also im planning to finally buy a wheel, after like 230 hours in assetto corsa w/ kb and mouse thinking of buying the r5 bundle, any pedal recommendations since i tried the bundle out and never really enjoyed the pedals (300 usd budget for the pedals)
Good video altogether, but I really feel like you missed a gem with shifters and I'm talking about SHH shifter. In your review from 2 years ago stadard mounting that you were using was really weak, I've got mine with side mount and it is still rock solid. I've got mine for 1,5 hear now and everything is still working exactly as it should with no problem at all. Longetivity and sturdiness of it is really great and I cannot recommend it enough, specially for a price (€109). Easy to customize as well, got Ford gear knob with sleeve on it and it didn't missed a beat.
about the fanatec shifter i have seen ton of reports of it breaking down so I probably would go with simagic one. Im personally rocking csl dd (8nm) with cs formula 2.5 and cs bmw gt2 wheels, aiologs handbrake, th8a shifter (next upgrade), heusinkveld sprints and simlabs gt1 evo cockpit
could you maybe start a series with multiple budget to show best for the price for example $1000,$1500 etc until like 3--5k even maybe, and then show wheelbase rim pedals and rig(maybe even other accessoires ?
For me Now me and my dad own a SIM rig and we have a T300RS and the rest is fanatec. And I will say that what ever you do or want… never and I mean NEVER buy logitech SIM stuff brand new unless its like the shifter. Because its not worth it. I suggest you get it used so you know if you like it or not and then you can upgrade to like fanatec or moza on the budget side. I suggest either starting with thrustmaster or completly skipping it. Because when we got the T300RS right after fanatec made their budget Bundle where you get like a wheel, pedals and the dd motor which is pretty amaizing and I suggest that. And I can say that direct drive wheels are absolutely amaizing and being able to get a dd setup for like ≈500€? Is pretty insane. So Yeah I suggest getting something super cheap that has force Feedback and then upgrading to better stuff.
@@OCRacingI had that kit, my god it wouldn’t center itself! I tried calibrating it to center the wheel, then flash newest firmware, but it didn’t help.. So I returned it and went with Logitech G923 that just works out of the box. Several friends have 5-12 year old Logitech wheels so I guess quality won’t be an issue. Speaking about nothing, Fanatec is getting out of business 😅
The alpha mini is only 539 and is 10nm. The r5 or csl DD Are only 5.5 nm ans are 400 bucks. Over 500 bucks for both the r9 and 8nm dd upgrade. The alpha mini is better for sure, by a good amount.
I have a logitech g29 and mostly play f1 related games (f123, asseto corsa, beamng, etc) do u have any recomendations for an upgrade? I dont know nothing abt simracing stuff, but i got the g29 in a very good price (around 120-150 usd)
now i am second guessing getting a fanatec item after his explanation.... last time i ordered the ready 2 race, they only delivered the pedals and forgot the rest with no refund or response :( ... been over 4 months trying to reach out for help
Have you tried out the SHH shifter? I think it’s better value than anything else, and feels way better to use than any Logitech or thrustmaster options.
Here where I live the moza r5 is like 500 us there and the r3 is like 370 what do you think I should get?(I want a wheel that has good force feedback and i feel like the r3 wont feel much)
Way too expensive for half a world, dude. Makes the audience think that a one needs nasa tech to perform good in races and that's not necessarily true.
I'd go Alpha Mini with a GT Neo over Fanatec or Moza. As for pedals, I'd pick the Simforge Mark 1 although the Cammus look interesting at that price point. The Fanatec ready2race McLaren bundle is probably a good starter, I'd still rather see people save a little more and get better equipment to start. Good choices on cockpits.

Yeah that would be cool cause im looking at a $3000 budget
@@alxti marketplace t150 or g29 or g920 with simjack pedals if you're on pc.
Once you're stuck in, then you can think about spending $700+ on something you know you'll love if it's in your budget.
agreed, got a TS300 + Acelith open wheel mod while saving up for the 488 GT3 Wheel. I'm having tons of fun

No one is spending over 1000 dollars just to try out sim driving/racing

Although it doesn’t come with clutch and shifter you can make that upgrade for < $100
I bought the fanatec csl dd clutch kit and the muge Amazon shifter
Oh my guy is showing his face now. Nice to finally meet you OC.
Ye that caught me off guard too haha
I am just starting and today I ordered an Moza R12 base, a CS V2P wheel, CRP pedals and a stand for the set. I believe these are more than enough for a starter.
That’s what I bought 2 weeks ago and I’m loving it no regrets
The CRP pedals are really unimpressive for the price though and the R12 is weaker than supposedly 10nm simagic alpha mini. I blame moza for false advertising
@@wangte27 I will hopefully see myself in few days.
@wangte27 That's only true about the V1 version of the alpha mini. The current version V3 is capped at 10nm. Still great though.
Went from Fanatec gear to Simagic alpha mini and P1000 pedals. Best sim purchase I ever made.
Conspit cpp is the best pedal set for the price, P1000 is meh..... Bad product for value
It is $300 so a little over twice as much as the P1, however you will easily enjoy it more and get more use out of it
I may be late, but this is the first time I've seen this guy's face...always knew he looked like a GigaChad tho 😎

Why didnt you mention the GT Neo by Simagic and how ist a R9 as strong as a alpha mini???
Alpha mini v3 is abit stronger than the r9 the v1 however is stronger than the r12

Immensely cheaper than a 3 monitor setup, much more enjoyable experience, much less real estate needed, Often comes with speakers and microphone, no need for fancy looking gear as you are not seeing them with the VR on.
can you mix and match components? Like steering wheel from company A, pedals from company F, shifter from company B, and so on?
Usually on PC, with the general exception of steering wheel A from wheelbase B, yes. On console, no - you must use all from the same manufacturer who is offering Xbox or PS support
Can we mix and match ? Or should they be used in the same ecosystem?

I guess the higher the better but where is the minimum that still gives you a realistic feel, force feedback or whatever.
For everyone freaking out about the total price i hate to tell you but the best bang for buck in sim racing is really around the 500 dollar mark. You can go cheaper for sure but its still going to be a few hundred dollars and there is real benefits to going up to that 500~ mark aka direct drive with real torque and a load cell brake.

Thanks for making this video. I'm planning on piecing together a mid-level sim rig and this is extremely helpful.

Hello, I've been using a G29 for a few years and now looking to upgrade to DD. Can I use a steering wheel from Moza on a Fanatec DD unit?
Just get a g29, Logitech pedals, and the logi shifter. If u like it slowly upgrade to thrust master then moza or fanatec.
Would you say that the simagic line of wheelbases has more “detail” as compared to the moza line up, when comparing models with similar torque power?
Can I use the McLaren gt3 wheel with my moza base?
Not without a special adapter which I don’t know whether it exists
It’s kinda crazy how Moza managed corner and compete with fanatec only within 3 years
The Chinese always have to chase somebody
Any recommendations under €250 that have force feedback, all 3 pedals and shifter included? I mention FFB because my current wheel (Hori RWA) has no FFB, or anything I mentioned
Im on the floor, and im thinking of upgrading my g29 pedals with trustmaster t lcm is ok, or should i save a little more for moza crps because i like the moza ecosystem ?Thanks.
I would love a part for the sim software you are using.
Do you find it a problem mixing and matching different brands/gear in a single sim? Or does everyone play well together?
just a question.
If you enjoy that, think about a DD wheel.
bro, i regret buying g923 its cracking grinding piece of plastic.. no feedback at all..
Can you connect moza pedals with Fanatec DD+ wheel base and play on ps5?
I pulled the trigger on the bmw csl dd kit a day ago glad that was one of your top picks
I felt the same, i bought the same kit as you, and also the alurig he recommends, i went with 3x 27" monitors aswell. :)
Got everything in house besides the rig, hopefully it comes soon :D
didnt even know it was less than half an hour since upload, damn.
also im planning to finally buy a wheel, after like 230 hours in assetto corsa w/ kb and mouse
thinking of buying the r5 bundle, any pedal recommendations since i tried the bundle out and never really enjoyed the pedals (300 usd budget for the pedals)
230 hours on keyboard and mouse is insane! 🤣
I would look into the two pedals i mentioned in the “pedals” section of this video
@@OCRacing endured the pain lol, just wanted to make sure that i REALLY liked sim racing before eventually spending way too much money
100k dude! So awesome to see how far youve come. Well done 👍
Thank you! 🙏
What if only the G29 is available in your country?
Rn I have a t150 and t3pms but I want to upgrade to a t300 ergo base
With the Thrustmaster open wheel it’s like 700 Canadian together is it good ?
about the fanatec shifter i have seen ton of reports of it breaking down so I probably would go with simagic one.
Im personally rocking csl dd (8nm) with cs formula 2.5 and cs bmw gt2 wheels, aiologs handbrake, th8a shifter (next upgrade), heusinkveld sprints and simlabs gt1 evo cockpit
could you maybe start a series with multiple budget to show best for the price for example $1000,$1500 etc until like 3--5k even maybe, and then show wheelbase rim pedals and rig(maybe even other accessoires ?
hello, would you reccomend fer the new sim racer the PXN-V99 ????
So Yeah I suggest getting something super cheap that has force Feedback and then upgrading to better stuff.
what is The best choice for a steering wheel that works on Sony for less than 320 usd ?
For a kit that brings everything and at that price point, your best bet will be a used Thrustmaster T300rs on FB Marketplace
For me, getting a direct-drive system was not an option, since my budget as a student is pretty low. So a G29 it was
The alpha mini is only 539 and is 10nm.
Thoughts on the vnm shifter? Personally like it over the three choices you said.
now i am second guessing getting a fanatec item after his explanation.... last time i ordered the ready 2 race, they only delivered the pedals and forgot the rest with no refund or response :( ... been over 4 months trying to reach out for help
which round rim for a csl dd 8nm? have a f1 but need something for rally and maybe road
Super informative video, thank you.
Glad I could help out :)
Have you tried out the SHH shifter? I think it’s better value than anything else, and feels way better to use than any Logitech or thrustmaster options.
Here where I live the moza r5 is like 500 us there and the r3 is like 370 what do you think I should get?(I want a wheel that has good force feedback and i feel like the r3 wont feel much)
They will both work fine.
Oh shit! Oscar showing face in the new vids! Let’s go my guy! Keep up the excellent content!
Glad you started appearing in the videos dude
Might as well right? 🤣
The Fanatec Ready to race bundle is no longer available… the pain 😢
Cammus lc100 or fanatec elite v2's. What do you think?
Way too expensive for half a world, dude. Makes the audience think that a one needs nasa tech to perform good in races and that's not necessarily true.
what else can i get instead of the fanatec wheel cuz they went bankrupt
fantastic video!!! building a rig based on your recommendations
Good choices on cockpits.
missing the simjack and simsonn pedal options, would be interesting to see a review of those as they seem unbeatable in their pricerange
