So I actually semi-disagree with this. Although I know the T300RS is a good package (because I used to own it) nowadays, they along with the TX leather edition retail for right around $450-500 on Amazon. At that price point, you can get far newer technology with the Moza R5 and Fanatec CSL as well as have several upgrade options with loadcell brake pedals, boost kits, and far more wheel rims available. All this at around the same price as a new Thrustmaster T300rs offering. The only case where the T300rs would make sense would be if you buy it used for $300 or less or if you need a PlayStation wheel but can't stretch your budget to get to the GT DD Pro from Fanatec. Let me know if you agree/disagree.
@@OCRacing I never used a direct drive wheel before or load cell pedals. I picked up a brand new TX Leather Edition after I graduated highschool for $450 over 2 years ago and it still works perfectly. The biggest complaint I hear is overheating which I never had an issue with because after I'm done racing I let it cool down for 20 mins or longer. I would love to get a direct drive for PlayStation 5 for GT7 but I can find any online for under $500.
I own a very similar setup to the second option in the form of an old g27 and an wheelstand v2 also from next level racing like the cockpit in the video. I have to say it can not be underestimated how important a proper mounting option is. Having a proper place for my wheel and paddles, so that it takes only a fraction of the time to setup and everything is way more stable compared to mouning it on my desk was a huge game changer for me. The other game changer was a proper brake pedal. More on that down below. If you realy are stripped for cash, there is nothing wrong in buying an used logitech g29,920, etc. I would however replace the wobly foldable cockpit with at least an stable wheelstand, that has a rest for your chair. NLR and gt track have one for offer for basicly less than the f-gt-light/pro. And they can be used later on, when you upgrade to a direct drive. I would also ad the so called truebrake mod for the Logitech brake paddle. It basicly transforms them into a loadcell paddle for just 70€. While not a true loadcell, the truebrake basically functions very similar to the asetek la prima/forte brake paddle and allow for precise braking. Especially compared to the stock logitech paddles where braking was more guesswork than anything else.
Sadly in my country the first and third option costs at least 700 bucks. And almost nonexistent 2nd hand market. People do keep their g29 for years. But even 500 is a bit of a tough ask for me. So I'll just look at y'all shiny stuff 👍
Watching many you tube videos a person looking to just enter sim racing is steered down the path believing they need to spend big dollars on gear to have a good experience. I raced multiple years with a G29, then upgraded to Fanatec csl elite level gear on a wheelstand and finally to a full rig with Fanatec DD and clubsport pedals which if you listen to many that is not good enough. Got burnt out and sold the rig and DD and clubsport pedals. I will say for the average guy even something like g29 or t-300 wheelbase and wheel with a decent set of pedals with a load cell brake can offer years of fun racing and the average racer will not notice enough difference in their lap times to justify spending a couple of thousand dollars to play a video racing game! I have been about two years since I quit racing and have been thinking about maybe getting back into it more casually and I do still have my Fanatec CSL gear with it original playstation wheel and a McLaren GT wheel and even my G29 in its original box which I kept that stuff as backup gear which I may pull out once again. But it is easy for a new person to be convinced before they start they need the latest gear to have fun and that is not true.
Hey can can you list your setup for the sim? please. With the 3 tvs. would be great. im interested in how to get the setup. im new to this scene and want to get into sim racing and trucking once i build my pc 😊
Would you recommend the R3 MOZA Xbox bundle as a first wheel? I want to have a direct drive wheel and I don’t want to cheap out on the Logitech wheel, or would you recommend the T248?
I wish there was an easy way to test different systems. I've been looking for a sim setup with three pedals and a shifter, so that I could try to see if my hand works with a shifter anymore. Just hard to find reliable info how much one should invest, since I know the G920 isn't an option. Things have changed a lot since the last time I had wheel set (Microsoft force feedback wheel).
FINALLY - and with that a video i can share to people asking me.. the reason. you ACTUALLY suggested people build a rig. If you are new and on a budget BUILD YOUR OWN RIG. if you can afford a rig then 100% do it but if you are price shopping and watching all the budget stuff then you my friend need to build your rig and take that money and buy better wheel motor/pedals. if you have a branded rig and the cheapest tier wheels i always go welllll.... if you look at me share a picture of a full profile rig and say i cant afford triples i say wellllllll...... if you show me 70 series plus card and 5 squared feet to work with you can build a full triple or vr cockpit for under $250 that will outlast most peoples sim phase haha. so YE WELL cool looking gear is nice. but to not participate because u need the nice looking stuff is laughable. you will have life lessons to learn. Do what you like with what you can, Once you can afford to do it better, upgrade. And by then you will also be better at that thing. Now you can look good while being good. And not just a kid who buys the best with someone elses money and gets bored of it and moves one (met enough of these people to know it happens in every sport / hobby) OC - good job, ive liked watching your content mature and help build to a younger audience, keep it up
Isnt really a set when you're still missing half the controls. All the DD sets I looked at seem to have done the same thing and get you on the price of the rest of the gear. Budgeting anything less than a 1000 isnt going to cut it
I'm loooking at T300 RS GT and Moza R5 bundle. Which do you think is better for me? I'm a total beginner and I'll use it mostly on Forza Horizon 5 and AC. BTW the Moza here is $250 more expensive than the T300 RS GT. Thanks in Advance.
Hello, I have the T300 and I want to upgrade to Moza R5, I recomend you the Moza R5, because if you buy the T300 in 4 or 5 months you will want to buy a better wheel
I have a T300RS, which is my 3rd Thrustmaster wheel/pedal combo since the mid 90s (and yes, that's showing my age, lol) out of 4 total. My second one was a Logitech in 2000, but I wasn't a fan of how plastic and cheap feeling it was made. But as much as I am not a fan of Logitech, I cringe when I hear the name Fanatec! It makes me remember decades ago when Apple iPods were the big "need to have product", and then it was the Apple iPhone, and now Fanatec is all I hear. But with how bad their service is with over-selling and can't ship on time, and poor customer service and feedback, I would rather save up for twice as long, continue using my current setup, and wait until I have the budget to buy a higher end unit from a company that at least appears to care about their customers!
Wow, you’ve had quite a few 😅 I keep hearing good things about the T300rs, interestingly though they seem to slightly creep up in value from what I see
@@OCRacing I was lucky enough to find a used T300RS with the T3PA-Pro pedals that I have inverted, from a sim racing enthusiast that upgraded the fan already. But my first was a Thrustmaster Formula T1 (which I still habe one a shelf) in the mid 90s playing Papyrus Indycar Racing and Papyrus NASCAR Racing. Then it developed a pull, and I wanted FFB, so I got a new Logitech Wingman Formula Force (which I just sold in a yard sale about 2-1/2 years ago). Took about 20 years hiatus, got back into it about 3 years ago and got a used Thrustmaster Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia Edition, just for the portability as I had no space at the time. Then my girlfriend and I re-organized our collectors room, added his and hers desks, our 3D printer, and I got a GT Omega CLassic wheel stand, TH8A shifter, TSS handbrake, triple monitors VR headset, and a new gaming PC. Still don't have room for a full one-piece rig, but eventually when one of our kids move out, I plan on making one of their rooms into a sim racing den, with an amazing rig!
Nope, I can't think of a universe where a second hand t300rs gt can't be recommended over a g29. I got a t300 today and had a g29 for four years, I haven't even ironed out the settings for it yet and no chance NEVER not at all is there a reason to get a logitech
So basiclly i want to start with sim racing. Actually, only wish is to play F1 as i am huge F1 fan. Thing is that i do not know which wheel to buy. Im ready to spend 500-700€(since i know i love racing for so many years and i will not give up from it) just to buy wheel for F1 which will have all the things i need to have great fun, have as realistic as possible expirience and to be able to play it competitivly(if i will be good enough). Any suggestion will be great and will be thankfull.
@@Kikach-ty8fw So in terms of an option for PC and F1-style driving, you are going to have quite a bit of options. It's a great wheel, i considered it myself, probably more around the 8nm level of ffb as for some reason cammus lists an average number rather than peak value like everyone else. The down sides are the shipping costs (if you're buying direct from cammus) plus the cost of the desk clamp and the pedals are extremely basic.

okay listen people tryna get in the hobby. the g920 or g29 is the way to start primarily. dont listen to other youtubers who complain about it cause it is a good starter wheel. unless you are serious from the very start, it is an amazing budget sim racing starter idea and dont lsten to 100k+ sub ytubers saying the issues. it has amazing force feedback (as a beginner youll realise it) and amazing responsiveness. i run gt7 and raceroom and it is amazong. raceroom has so sos o much feedback and is good for starters. maybe get and ok minimum maybe rx5700budget 500 maybe 450 usd pc or if you already have a good pc maybe less than an x 5700 or r5 5600 will get you ready. stop listening to scummy youtubers. oc racing is good though.

Genuine question... I have just started sim racing. What benefits do you get from wearing gloves? Is it for grip? I find my grip is fine without is all so I'm just curious! Thanks.
In my case, it is for branding purposes as it features my logo on screen for a big part of the video. However, people mainly use gloves to protect their sim racing wheels (especially those made from Alcantara or Suede) as those materials wear out and begin to look bad due to the natural sweat and oils your hand releases over time.
i’ve had the logitech G920 here for just about a month and I feel like I’ve already outgrown it. it was all experimental and in the last month I purchased an inexpensive rig to mount my screen, pedals and wheel to. I am a month new to Sim racing, so I am looking to get into the Moza racing or Fanatec ecosystem …I’m at a crossroads Between the fanatec CSLDD bundle or the Moza R3 bundle for Xbox capabilities …. Any suggestions on which would be the better ecosystem.
@@OCRacing console, Xbox series s to be exact. I love the look of the McLaren gt3 wheel bundle but I’ve just heard too many horror stories online about the Customer Service and even major delays on shipment date as far back as Black Friday. I’ve heard nothing but things about Moza, excited to see that they released the Xbox compatible R3 bundle with (3.9nm)….. so that’s the crossroads im debating with at the moment.
@@ChicanoChicane So here are my thoughts on it: From my understanding (and experience) with Fanatec, the shipping delays and logistical nightmares seem to only apply to products that went on sale in November during the black friday sales. Essentially, they oversold and couldn't keep up with demand. As such, a bunch of those products (that went on the crazy sales) have had a hard time getting to consumers. Other Fanatec products tend to still be fine. I know this because I purchased a CSL DD Boost Kit and it arrived within 2 weeks. The Moza R3 I've also heard good things about. However, availability on it is a problem. In fact, I've had one for around 4+ months now but Moza themselves told me to not release any content on it. The reason is because they're still in talks with Microsoft regarding the licensing and aren't ready to publicly release it quite yet. As such, it's been marked as out of stock on their website for months and reviewers like myself haven't been able to make any content on it. Those reviews that you see online were made before the restrictions were placed by Moza/Microsoft. As such, if you want the R3, you may have to wait a bit. All in all, what I'm saying is that if you're debating between the two, I think the CSL DD is the better bet. For starters, it starts at 5nm of force, more than Moza's. Secondly, it can be heavily upgraded (force, pedals, wheels, etc.) whereas you'll be stuck with ~3nm with Moza. And finally, with regards to shipping and logistics concerns, you shouldn't have any problem with that product. I also have used the CSL DD for a very long time and I've always been very happy with it. Either way, both are good but those are just my 2 cents. Anyways, now I should keep paying attention to class lol
@@OCRacing You make great points. I 100% agree with you…. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will be ordering my CSL DD bundle today. Also I really enjoy your content.

You should do one of these about upgrading from entry level to mid range
I will, thanks 🤝

Moza R5 is the go to with the suggested mods. I had both budget fanatec and moza
But it is easy for a new person to be convinced before they start they need the latest gear to have fun and that is not true.
for those having potato PC or ultra book
GT legend/GTR2 and Live or Speed runs good on low end hardware
I'm doing it on my Surface pro 8 8gb
Hey can can you list your setup for the sim? please. With the 3 tvs. would be great. im interested in how to get the setup. im new to this scene and want to get into sim racing and trucking once i build my pc 😊
Hey, you can find everything used in my current rig here: www.ocsimracing.com/ocracing-setup
Things have changed a lot since the last time I had wheel set (Microsoft force feedback wheel).
i got a fanatec csl dd bundle and build myself a wooden simrig
Awesome, that’s exactly my third recommendation 🤣
5:20 Where can I find these mods for the Logi 920 and 29?
If availability or compatibility isn't an issue, what would be your favorite pick out of the 3 setups?
is the moza r5 compatible with the next level racing gtracer cockpit?
What is that thing he is using at 3:50. The white box everything is mounted to???
Looking at Equipment prices when I first started my build I almost cried 😭
Unfortunately that’s the hard reality 😭 this is an expensive hobby, thankfully there are at least some budget conscious choices
Do what you like with what you can,
Once you can afford to do it better, upgrade. And by then you will also be better at that thing.
Now you can look good while being good. And not just a kid who buys the best with someone elses money and gets bored of it and moves one (met enough of these people to know it happens in every sport / hobby)
OC - good job, ive liked watching your content mature and help build to a younger audience, keep it up
I just did a video showing mine for this reason haha
Isnt really a set when you're still missing half the controls. All the DD sets I looked at seem to have done the same thing and get you on the price of the rest of the gear. Budgeting anything less than a 1000 isnt going to cut it
Any recommendations on a cockpit for the fanatec CSL DD bundle?
So fanatec or moza? I just cant decide (tho im more biased zo the monza one because the rep it has from friends)
Should’ve mentioned second hand (I don’t recall that at least) and the t300 (same here)
Should I bother buying the g923 or should buy the g920 and get a cockpit?
I can only see the rally bundle for fanatec wich is £500
Quick question: can i buy a bigger version of csl dd, bcs the 5nm version is sold out??
I'm loooking at T300 RS GT and Moza R5 bundle. Which do you think is better for me? I'm a total beginner and I'll use it mostly on Forza Horizon 5 and AC. BTW the Moza here is $250 more expensive than the T300 RS GT. Thanks in Advance.
Hello, I have the T300 and I want to upgrade to Moza R5, I recomend you the Moza R5, because if you buy the T300 in 4 or 5 months you will want to buy a better wheel
When is the fanatec vs simagic shifter vid coming out?
How about I want to try some racing for the first time with maybe the last generation of console?
would you recommend a pxn v99 as a beginner wheel
Hey, quick question. Why do you suggest the g29/920 over the G923? Is it because of price or performance?
Price. The G923 has the same performance and only introduces TrueForce vibrations which to me, isn’t worth the near double price tag.
I have the G923 and just a few Games support TrueForce. I tried it in ACC and it's really nice but I don't know if it's worth that much more.
pxn v99 or logi g920??
any help appreciated
Nope, I can't think of a universe where a second hand t300rs gt can't be recommended over a g29. I got a t300 today and had a g29 for four years, I haven't even ironed out the settings for it yet and no chance NEVER not at all is there a reason to get a logitech
So is 1 or 2 better?
Still no idea if I should get Fanatec CSL DD bundle or Moza R5 bundle
fanatec went out of buisness, dont buy them people have been saying they can scam now
they went "bankrupt"
Did Fanatec fix their supply issues though?
Is a t300 and a th8A good for 500 or should i not get the shifter
So basiclly i want to start with sim racing. Actually, only wish is to play F1 as i am huge F1 fan. Thing is that i do not know which wheel to buy. Im ready to spend 500-700€(since i know i love racing for so many years and i will not give up from it) just to buy wheel for F1 which will have all the things i need to have great fun, have as realistic as possible expirience and to be able to play it competitivly(if i will be good enough). Any suggestion will be great and will be thankfull.
Sure, for starters, are you going to be playing on PC, Xbox, or PlayStation?
@@OCRacing PC
@@Kikach-ty8fw So in terms of an option for PC and F1-style driving, you are going to have quite a bit of options. I think that if you're looking for something that is NOT too expensive but also perfect for F1-style racing, I would recommend the following:
fanatec.com/us-en/ready2race/csl-dd-f1-esports-starter-kit-for-pc?_gl=1*7u6kpc*_up*MQ..*_ga*OTE3NTk2NjI1LjE3MDc5NDg1MTU.*_ga_Q6VYC4JPVE*MTcwNzk0ODUxNC4xLjEuMTcwNzk0ODUyMC4wLjAuMA..?FAP+Banner&OCRacing&General+Links&a_aid=OCRacing
It gives you an F1-style wheel (in-fact with official F1 licensing) a direct drive wheelbase which can be upgraded to 8nm of force down the line and a decent set of pedals for f1 racing which can also be heavily upgraded. g29 or g923? (g29 comes with a stick with a price of 260 Euros im not looking forward to spending 317 Euros for both the G923 and the stick. I mostly play bus sims, driving sims/arcades and assetto corsa and maybe drifting in the future but now I really just want to have fun while sim driving)
Go with the G29, the differences are very minimal
I started with the T300, then T-GT and after Thrustmaster I went to Fanatec with the 8nm DD Pro and now on DD Plus. I hope I stop now with upgrading, it costs allot by now 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking about getting the cammus C5 for my first wheel bundle because of the price and it still gives that 5nm of DD
I have the Cammus C5 and it is really good. I would buy the new C12 if I could.
C5 is $269 at wallmart and the bundle is $349.
Very affordable.
sp just a quick question im looking for the fanatac formula v2.5 for my pc but its sold out atm is it worth waiting to get the xbox series on march 21 or to get another wheel in the same budget?
okay listen people tryna get in the hobby. the g920 or g29 is the way to start primarily. dont listen to other youtubers who complain about it cause it is a good starter wheel. unless you are serious from the very start, it is an amazing budget sim racing starter idea and dont lsten to 100k+ sub ytubers saying the issues. it has amazing force feedback (as a beginner youll realise it) and amazing responsiveness. i run gt7 and raceroom and it is amazong. raceroom has so sos o much feedback and is good for starters. maybe get and ok minimum maybe rx5700budget 500 maybe 450 usd pc or if you already have a good pc maybe less than an x 5700 or r5 5600 will get you ready. stop listening to scummy youtubers. oc racing is good though.

@@OCRacing That makes sense, thanks for the response!
i’ve had the logitech G920 here for just about a month and I feel like I’ve already outgrown it. it was all experimental and in the last month I purchased an inexpensive rig to mount my screen, pedals and wheel to.
Depends, are you mostly a PC or console sim racer? Both?
@@OCRacing console, Xbox series s to be exact. I love the look of the McLaren gt3 wheel bundle but I’ve just heard too many horror stories online about the Customer Service and even major delays on shipment date as far back as Black Friday. I’ve heard nothing but things about Moza, excited to see that they released the Xbox compatible R3 bundle with (3.9nm)….. so that’s the crossroads im debating with at the moment.
@@ChicanoChicane So here are my thoughts on it:
From my understanding (and experience) with Fanatec, the shipping delays and logistical nightmares seem to only apply to products that went on sale in November during the black friday sales.
