BEST DD!! It seems there are way too many varying pros and cons between Moza and Fanatec. Moza's QR seems far superior, however, Fanatecs eco system seems infinitely broader. I've been leaning towards the Fanatec 8nm, however the customer support horror stories I've read have me hesitant, their lack of response on their QR2 a year after announcing it doesn't bode well.
@@eternalreturnal unfortunately I have not, no simple decision considering the prices don't range too wildly between ecosystems. I saw the QR2 review Boosted Media did, not sold on Fanatec if anything I'm writing them off. It's seemingly a shitty tactic to illicit more money out of their established customer base, rather than actually addressing the issue, and they all sold out as soon as they went up, practically breaking the site. Fanatec have had 3 years since announcing the QR2 and IMO what they came up with doesn't hold a candle to the NRG style of QR that Moza uses, the majority of supporters are those who simply are too far into, or too heavilty invested in, the Fanatec ecosystem to swap out. I would have already gone with either the Moza R5 bundle, or R9 if only Moza had better game and console support. I'm thinking the all around champ of versatility and customer support probably has to go to the Logitech Pro, but the asking price is just absurd ($1700 wheel+load cell pedal set combined CAD), the only other qualm I have with it is, it's mostly plastic, and the foot print and form factor are huge lol, however if I never have to worry about breaking or replacing a drive shaft, overheating issues, or support, the cost of entry may be worth it in the long run.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to produce this video. I am thinking about purchasing a DD wheel, and the information provided by you is appreciated.
I think value wise, in terms of feel & room for growth, the CSL DD is probably the best of the three. You get access to Fanatec's large amount of wheels, and the ability to up the power to 8NM as your skill increases.
I almost agree, the 8nm boost kit is nice. but you can upgrade to a new DD base from moza and keep all the other accessories and youre good to go. I will actually be getting the R5 bundle and if I outgrow the DD ill be upgrading to a R16 or R21 base. Even though fanatecs DD2 base offers more torque, its stupidly more expensive over the R21.

I went with the moza R5 bundle from a Logitech g29 and got the clutch uograde the cs wheel hgp shifter and handbrake and it's freaking awesome so so much better than my g29
Tried to order the R5 Bundle directly from the Moza website, EU delivery. 165 EUR Shipping, plus the 550 Euro bundle doesn't include taxes. So the final price would be around 850 Euros, so the advertising at 550 Euros isn't so much true. So I stuck with DD CSL, CSL LC pedals and Mclaren Steering wheel V2. Around 650 euros with all taxes and shipping fees included. Much better value from Fanatec.
I'm currently looking at the Moza, only because I can get the bundle at my local Micro Center. I definitely like having an actual place to go to if i have to return it if something goes wrong. Just waiting for black Friday.

I'm probably going with the Moza R3 if I buy new, or a Moza R5/Fanatec CSL DD if I find one used at a good price. The Cammus C5's upgradability already put me off, but out of curiosity I checked the shipping price and it did bring it to a price on par with that of the R3 - I'm located in the US. I'd avoid the C5 due to both that and the upgradability, the other two brands give you plenty of options to upgrade while Cammus gives none. There's a reason no other DD wheels are built with the motor attached to the wheel itself.
I’m late to the party here! I’m considering both Fanatec and Moza (probably boosted or R9). I have a question please? The base I have currently is TS-PC which the shaft has failed in the base (plastic joining metal has snapped from the bolts). Are these bases metal from quick release to the motor or are there plastic elements? Thanks.
These wheels are all amazing but I have a question regarding a wheel not mentioned here. Could you tell me which one of these wheels is the best deal? A G923 (used) with pedals and the shifter for £110, waiting longer and getting a Cammus C5 with pedals for £360 (new) or waiting even longer and getting a Fanatec CSL DD with the pedals for £400-£500?
If you are really low on budget, and want to start it out, go for the g923 used, 110 spent. The wheel is good enough for beginners. then you can upgrade for the load cell pedals later down the road if you are still low on budget for a full direct drive setup. If you want a competitive setup from the moment you start, go for the fanatec csl dd with pedals. You will have to wait longer but you have an amazing setup to start sim racing
I'd advise getting whatever you can afford right now to get yourself started. I only got into sim racing last year having bought the G920 second hand myself. Now I'm looking to upgrade to the fanatec csl but i've already got a year of experience and tremendous fun under my belt sim racing thanks to that cheaper entry option. I never felt like the wheel was holding me back or anything, i'm just looking for a more immersive feel now.
You can where you’re supposed to screw it into the mount you can use those holes to screw it in directly you just don’t get any height adjustment. @@GeekStreet
@@GeekStreet The hole spacing on the rods of the Cammus are Fanatec standard mounting spacings and should slot straight in to most rigs, adjusting the angle and distance of the wheel would be the only adjustment required.
After 8 months, Moza es steering wheel, pedal shifter, left pedal broke. The place that holds the pedal shaft is plastic, so it breaks. My research is in this direction. Different people on reddit have experienced the same problem. I am a victim of this situation. Even if I contact Moza in China, my cargo and steering set will be damaged. It will not be good for me if I cannot play the game. Think twice when buying an ES steering wheel. I have used Logitech DFGT for 10 years and have never had any problems. Moza broke down in 8 months. I do not recommend it to anyone. Take a break knowing that these will happen.

I just bought the Moza R5 bundle, with the brake spring. I'm super excited! A few years ago, I had the Fanatec CSL Elite bundle and, while it was very good, their software at the time was quite lacking. I'm sure that has changed over time though. Moza is SO MUCH more affordable than Fanatec and with Fanatec's current controversies/issues, I'm very glad I found Moza.
I am also looking at the r5 could I please ask with the brake mod/upgrade does it make the peddles prone to moving more compared to withought it given the extra pressure needed? I game at my pc desk not with a wheel mount. I currently have a g20 (logitech) High end PC with a 55 inch 144hz qd oled so the moza r5 will be an amazing upgrade for me just wondering if the brake upgrade take away stability from the peddles being on the floor, thanks in advance 🫡
@@makavelisreturn86 I just bought the r5 bundle with the brake kit and I will be playing on a similar setup without a mounts for the accessories. @makavelisreturn86 no problem, worth noting if you did find that it moved just either place it up against the skirting board behind or place something behind it like a piece of wood.
Really useful review thanks - looking at upgrading wheel for my Xbox with Forza motorsport imminent from my G923 to DD and toying with Fanatec CSL but will wait to see how the Moza R3 rates when launched. Best DD
forza has really trash support for direct drives they have none and the wheel doesn't show in game separate software is needed to get it to work with moza and as far as i know it only works on windows 10 that software not 11 so i wouldn't upgrade to play forza cause it probably wont be till the next game comes out that it will work properly anyway as moza is new to the market forza don't support it forza horizon 5 doesn't anyway as i presume it is the same with every other forza game
That CSL Power supply boost kit thing is a scam. They sell you an 8nm motor and purposely limit the power to 5nm with an under powered power supply. And if you want the full power out of it you have to pay extra!
Why be mad when its the same experience, for over 100 dollars cheaper. I admit the looks are a weak point and the back pedals are small, but besides that its just as good as anything else here.
What did you get? Mind you I don't think any of them would be a fine choice. I've had a Fanatec setup for a year or so, replaced the shaft clamp (poor design, the wheel disconnects or can when using it, FFB gets noisy prior to the disconnect) and am very happy with it. Requires a rock solid mount to get the most from it (any wheelbase) Happy racing!
its 3.8Nm too so it's not thaat much lower than 5Nm for significantly cheaper, it still brings a decent amount of feedback especially compared to logitech and TM, however 10Nm is considered the sweetspot to many and it is a fair bit off that
Best DD! I think the Fanatec just makes the most sense...options for emhancing the base and pedals in a way the other 2 cant match means this kit will scale better than any other based on that alone. Add more feedback when you like or increase brake pedal load etc Consider then the rest of the ecosystem and they software it becomes the clear winner in my mind. I had been leaning moza but this video has me now doing a while new set of homework Thanks!
wait, there's NO WAY you have to run games through moza's software, wtf? then people who play assetto corsa on a moza wheel cant use content manager? 😂😂 nah
Comparison of the 3 5Nm torque level wheelbases out there currently and which I think is the best value in performance and money. Which would you get?
You can get the 8nm meter csldd as the same price as the 5nm with the current sale on 200$ with any wheel and pedals

Wait and get the csl or c5 for sure
fanatec cammus is junk
@@danielsimpson3238some pro racers say its very good
If you are really low on budget, and want to start it out, go for the g923 used, 110 spent.
With the cammus c5 you can just skrew the t bone into the cockpit without the thingy
Don't think so
You can where you’re supposed to screw it into the mount you can use those holes to screw it in directly you just don’t get any height adjustment.
For PC players, would you recommend the Moza over the Fanatec?
Ok. But, what about warranty issues?.
Best DD. Found your vid looking for advice as a dude transitioning from controller to a wheel. Your right about Cammus's postage. Highway robbery!
Cammus have a network of warehouses now, So no need to ship from China.
Nice video, good job
Always support you
Thanks bro
You are welcome@@GeekStreet
would any of these options work on a PS4/PS5?
They can with drivehub or raslution
The fanitec one, can it be table/desk mounted? As you didn’t mention that for that wheel
Yes that can be table mounted
Hey man MOZA R3 launched a steering wheel for Xbox could you review this with xbox and test this in forza horizon
👍
@@GeekStreet Okhh thanks man
how did you manage to use cammus c5 with logitech pedals?? I want to buy a fanatech dd pro for my PS 4 , but i don't have all the money . Can you mismatch them??
Yes I used this adapter ua-cam.com/video/bcOJ_iGkwKU/v-deo.html
@@GeekStreet thank you
I’m in the market for a wheel base setup I’ve watched several videos fanatec n MOZA the only games I like is euro truck 2 / ATS I BELIEVE MOZA SOLD ME simply because of the adjustment trucker wheel clamp for 0/90 dg ratio and I plan on getting the TSW WELL SOMETIME MID NEXT YEAR
I'm waiting for Black Friday to pull the plug on some goodies
Which one would you go for?
How much difference is there between entry level DD and a top one
the difference between being able to pay your rent and not.
Best DD
Great video thanks. I'm thinking of buying a csl, but moza are looking promising, mostly for the nicer stock wheel itself.
Can you use Logitech pedals and shifter with Cammus C5?
Yes check this out for more details on that
ua-cam.com/video/bcOJ_iGkwKU/v-deo.html
@@GeekStreet thanks
The boosted R5 only has 1NM more peak torque than the 7NM peak from the C5, I think the cammus is the better product
What about the r3?
Reviewing this soon
Hello , i have a thrustmaster t150..
I just bought forza for the first time (forza motorsport)
It worked very well at the beginning , it was pretty close to perfect.. but after few career races i would try online , but my wheels in game where going left right left right etc…
I delete the game and instal again but now my steering wheel is not detactable anymore ..
Ive tried some things from youtube but it didnt work..
Somebody had also this problems ??
Thxxx
my pins of my wheel from fanatec just broke when they came and they dont want to give the money back......
\
which do you recommend for the American Truck Simulator?
All of those are overkill for ETS2/ATS.
If it's the only game you're playing just get something cheaper.
A second-hand T150 is enough for ATS or ETS…
I currently have a g20 (logitech)
High end PC with a 55 inch 144hz qd oled so the moza r5 will be an amazing upgrade for me just wondering if the brake upgrade take away stability from the peddles being on the floor, thanks in advance 🫡
@@makavelisreturn86 I just bought the r5 bundle with the brake kit and I will be playing on a similar setup without a mounts for the accessories. I'm pretty sure I will not be able to play with the brake kit if I don't mount the pedals anywhere but a possible solution would be to mount it on a wooden board or something which I could put up against a wall so the pedals could remain in an ideal position. If anything the brake kit will increase the resell value if I end up playing without it but we'll see. I should be getting the bundle next week.

thank you for your reply! I have now ordered a premium wheel stand from GT omega that should be with me soon hopefully that will be a good solution withought going full frame and rig. Loving my r5 such a great quality wheel for the price!
@@makavelisreturn86 Sounds awesome! And I totally agree that the moza r5 seems to be a great deal for the price. So excited to get mine xD
Just got the fanatec, upgraded from a t300, i wanted to ask i notice the wheel spins infinitely and in game although theres some resistance it can still turn with enough pressure is that normal?? I remember with the t300 it would lock up at 1080
thats compleatly normal most of the direct drive wheels allow for unlimited steering angle
@@dawidkossowski4714 ah i see thanks
What do you think with g29
All of the these are better than the G29
My Logitech died for absolutely no reason. And to be honest it was really notchy and not particularly nice to use. Definitely go for direct drive if you can afford it
@@ridingwithsam the difference is massive
in cammus's defense. they have multiple warehouses to combat shipping rates
not really....shipping from china is 105 and shipping from the usa warehouse is till $75, which is insane!
Fantastic informative video really impressed thank you! Im between the moza r5 and cammus but in all honesty think the r5 might be in top contender. I have a logitech G20 and had a thrustmaster wheel in the past but now I am more exclusively playing sim racing games time for an upgrade!
Could I please ask as I game at a pc desk with gaming chair if I upgraded the brake on the moza does the resistance make it more prone to moving withought being mounted?........subbed!
Thanks, no it doesn't make it more prone to movement.
@GeekStreet thank you for confirming that I was just a bit concerned By increasing the pressure I would have to mount it, the plan is to build a full sim rig but after building a pc about 2 months ago and sinking £4700 I'm behaving myself untill Christmas but 100% need a wheel upgrade, thanks man really appreciated
Best DD
forza has really trash support for direct drives they have none and the wheel doesn't show in game separate software is needed to get it to work with moza and as far as i know it only works on windows 10 that software not 11 so i wouldn't upgrade to play forza cause it probably wont be till the next game comes out that it will work properly anyway as moza is new to the market forza don't support it forza horizon 5 doesn't anyway as i presume it is the same with every other forza game
hi thanks for the video ....... can i use Fanatic CSL DD for gt7 if i buy the wheel ?
Unfortunately not as the wheel base is not PlayStation Compatible.
That CSL Power supply boost kit thing is a scam. They sell you an 8nm motor and purposely limit the power to 5nm with an under powered power supply. And if you want the full power out of it you have to pay extra!
does the fanatec come with a table clamp?
It doesn't.
F的5n改變電源到8除了扭力細節會升級嗎?
I hate EVERYTHING with the Cammus wheel
Don't hold back 😂
I hate it to
Why be mad when its the same experience, for over 100 dollars cheaper. I admit the looks are a weak point and the back pedals are small, but besides that its just as good as anything else here.
Ive got the cammsu c5 and its amazing
@@VultureUk-Rich 👌
compare c5 to c12 pls
what's fox leather?
Imitation Leather, not real.
The end of Foxs as we know them! 🦊🦊🦊
the r5 doesn't actually qualify as under $499 as that 1 dollar is just a gimmick and taxes and shipping will put it at almost 560usd
Simcube?
Best DD. Great video! Helped me with my choice!!
❤️
What did you get? Mind you I don't think any of them would be a fine choice. I've had a Fanatec setup for a year or so, replaced the shaft clamp (poor design, the wheel disconnects or can when using it, FFB gets noisy prior to the disconnect) and am very happy with it. Requires a rock solid mount to get the most from it (any wheelbase) Happy racing!
@@oktc68 I went with the Fanatec CSL DD.
Anyone got thoughts on the new R3? I’d still be on pc but it’s cheaper.
I'll be releasing my review soon stay tuned
its 3.8Nm too so it's not thaat much lower than 5Nm for significantly cheaper, it still brings a decent amount of feedback especially compared to logitech and TM, however 10Nm is considered the sweetspot to many and it is a fair bit off that
Bro buyed it 5000 wheel for the sim bro, i wanto you did good videos thanks luv ideo bro

Maybe you should specify for PC, because if your got PS5 your SOL.
Best DD, thanks for this heplful video, Im pretty set on the Fanatec, but I wanted to see how it compared to the Cammus.
❤️
So Fanatec is still the best. No clutch on c5 is a deal breaker.
the brake dampeners are performance killers. Sim racers go into their pedals to take them out lol dont recommenced buying it
If you can wait 3 Months-1 Year for deliver buy Fanatec...
Thank you! 😊
😍
Bro used Logitech pedals with the Cammus 💀💀
💪
Best dd also great comparison
Best DD!
I think the Fanatec just makes the most sense...options for emhancing the base and pedals in a way the other 2 cant match means this kit will scale better than any other based on that alone. Add more feedback when you like or increase brake pedal load etc
Consider then the rest of the ecosystem and they software it becomes the clear winner in my mind. I had been leaning moza but this video has me now doing a while new set of homework
Thanks!
all of these are 1000 euro+ where i live 😭
moza r5 shipping costs me £150
"mozza" "fanatic" at least you got cammus right
MOZA the best by far
