- Hey y'all, I saw the comments... so here's me delivering. This is a very brief and straightforward tutorial on how I like to guide my Kh-29s and Kh-25s on the Su-25K in War Thunder. This also applies to any aircraft with these missiles, and other laser guided missiles as well!

Heads up: The "fire and forget" section of this tutorial is no longer possible. It seems such behavior was unintentional, and it was patched out/fixed recently. Now when the laser target goes beyond the limits on the sight view, it loses lock and the missile detonates.
Still leaving the video up because it contains relevant information.
Setting a deactivate point keybind is also worth noting. Really helps when you're mounting Bombs and laser AGMs. Like on the Su-22M3 where the best loadout is the 2x Kh-29Ls, 2x Kh-25MLs, and, 2x FAB-500s. If you don't set a deactivate keybind it will stick you in CCRP, which is a very neesh/rarely used mechanic that won't let you drop ur bombs in the CCIP target circle.

I'm an S-24B enjoyer and so my preferred loadout on the Su-22M3 has those swapped in place of the FABs. Also that plane getting custom loadouts is sooo tasty.

@@ryanberry_ I wish I had better luck with S-24Bs, but most times my bricktop inhibits me. I'll be expecting some MiG-23BN 2x Kh-23M/S-24B/FAB-500 CASSing then ;))
The 23BN is one I can actually reach, much closer to that than the GR.7 lmao. Very good to see that being added, can finally stop using the G.91 and Nords at that BR.

what you can also do is hit your fire agm bind once to activate seeker, then click your switch camera view bind and it'll put you into the targeting pod camera with the reticle that you can move with your mouse
True! I don't use the camera view because the zoom on it is really bad, it's worse zoom than just being in third person view. The camera view also has very limited traverse angles.

The guided bombs and missiles have been bugged since the danger zone update like when a TV bomb is locked you can't unlock it or trying to lock a laser missiles the camera just goes to the corner

i don't really get how that target "updates" the location... it keeps going to that one spot and just sends the missile to the wrong position? It doesnt update the location of the driving vehicle even tho im still pointing at it

Hello Ryan, do you press "activate target point" to live track the missile and and does it happen to you aswell when live tracking that the laser shuts off making the missile stop tracking and exploding mid air? Thanks in advance!
Yeah Gaijin changed something with tracking. Now once you break lock from the sight area it self destructs. But someone also told me that only happens with the 29s and not 25s. I'm not sure tbh
Is there a difference between this and using the 'Laser Designator' keybind?
Honestly I have no idea what the laser designator bind does. I don't have it bound either.
This is not the way I fire this Missile but using the laser aiming screen reaching the range, firing and guiding them to target. How can missile be fired at the target point and be flown away because the laser beam from the aircraft's nose should be pointed at the target right?
I'm not sure how exactly it works, but it does! I'm also pretty sure the tracking will break off if you turn too far from the target. The laser in the nose is probably mounted on a gimbal and has a wide tracking arc, but can't go in 360 degrees..
more questions :D does it work only for this KH weapons? What kind of armanent is also affected with that?
The target point system is used with many weapons. Laser guided stuff, CCRP bombs, etc.

Do you possibly have rocket detonation distance set in the spawn screen?
Tracking view is not a camera, on a Russian dev stream they said it's just a pilot's view zoomed in.
That makes sense, since it's right in front of the cockpit glass. I was also pretty sure the sensors on the Su-25 are in the nose...

I mean, config.blk is only settings like graphics and stuff. Nothing special in there. I run max/movie settings if that helps 😅

For whatever reason, the fire and forget doesn't work for me. The missile loses its lock as I turn away and the missile promptly self-detonates.
Seems like it was a bug and was patched. I knew it didn't seem right.

Yeah honestly, the ability to track laser targets at any angle was OP as fuck. I'm glad it's fixed.
How do u get it to perfectly lock on to ground targets?!? When I try to lock on square goes everywhere but the target
It's all trial and error. That's why you see me repositioning the target point a bunch before I'm happy with it. Also the point sets above the crosshair, not directly where it's pointing.

@@viper7753 It does the same for me now too, I believe it was unintentional and was patched out. Now the laser only retains lock within the sight area.

This kh 29 missiles can kill ships in simulator battles. I killed 4 ships using them.
What's the amount of the rewards per ship ?
@@stevenortiz9008 I didn't check but I gained good silver lions because 15 days premium time also comes with Su 25 pack and I had activated boosters.
