    I have a fresh squadron ready for you to join! =rbYT2= 😊
    And I made some small mistakes:
    The 6.7 heavy tank SP cost in a full uptier is 100 SP not 110 SP (actually not sure if this is true)
    Free Ace qualification does not require the crew level.
    Also red turret ring does not affect traverse. My bad.

      Hey Ryan, question, does crew agility affect the crewman replacing the dead one. Or the dead one? For example I upgrade the agility of the radioman. Does that mean he can get into the gunners seat quicker if my gunner dies? Or do I need to upgrade the agility of the gunner. So his limber corpse can be chucked out of the way faster by the radioman replacing him?

    • @ryanberry_
      @ryanberry_  Рік тому +13

      @@Deuce_and_a_half Actually the agility skills for individual members contribute to a "global" skill for that crew slot, if that makes sense. Basically increasing any agility skill makes any crew replacement faster no matter who it is. Same with Field Repair.

    from a 5800 hour player, i highly recommend tank sim around the mid-high BRs (5.7-8.7). There's certain lineups (7.7-ish w/ maus, 8.0 ish with Strv 103, etc.) where some vehicles that are hard to enjoy in RB really shine. The Strv 103 for example is amazing at sniping, since you practically only face BR412D and such (APHEBC and such) which really struggle to pen Strv103. Combined with a LR, 4 second autoloaded reload it's really forgiving and a blast to play. Maus too has a similar situation, where your armour actually works really well and can easily juggle multiple enemies since sim matches are usually a lot smaller than RB.
    TLDR: Play SIM ground more! You can basically guarantee yourself a full downtier if you pick from the higher BR vehicles of a certain bracket!

      I think I have twice your playtime and I also play everything incl. Naval except for Israel. I think I only have one tank crew on 150 and that's my German spaa crew slot. I have quite some aircrews on max level 75 and some naval crews on max. 100. Btw. Crew levels much faster in arcade, I actually earned easy over 40k crew points back in the day when helis were introduced (arcade mode) and I grinded full us heli tree with the ah1g (got a random talisman) and you could farm bases with hydras.
      Also crew points can be earned in naval as example but allocated to a tank crew as long as it is the same crew slot. Naval arcade is very easy for events and the earned crew points can be used for a tank crew as well.
      Maybe you can include that in your next vid ;)

    A good practice to get into is not slamming on the breaks when you see an enemy, especially if they see you. When using german tanks like the panther or tiger they have excellent suspension. You can roll the tank by tapping the forward key repeatedly to keep the tank moving at a constant 9-14 mph speed. With a targeting maxed out you basically have a effective stabilizer. And if you miss you just floor it and run to cover, most people struggle going through a panthers turret when it’s moving

    We cant deny that crew vitality is such a trolly and drastically (especially on soviet crew and german crews since they are either the most spread out or most cramped crews) important mechanic as well especially when aced, it lets the crews tank up so much damage especially from British apds or low tnt equivalent APHE from the post pen damage, at least that what i noticed and i been playing since late 2013s but thanks for making this guides, i am showing to my beginner friends cuz they cant stop asking me questions about the game while i am trying to sweat carry them in rb tank battles lol

    • @sandornyemcsok4168
      @sandornyemcsok4168 Рік тому

      Yes, crew skills are a more complex choice for me than suggested here. Generally I rate field repair much lower than vitality. And it also depends on the type of vehicle, in case of light vehicles (light tank, AA) I usually do not spend the experience on this as higher priority because if the opposition hits me than usually I won't be able to escape, so in this case vitality is even more important because if I survived the first shot somehow because of higher vitality then I have a better chance to return fire. This is especially valid for SPAAs. In case of medium and heavy tanks however I invest more into the repair skill, but still less than into vitality.
      Additionally I try to assign the same type of vehicle to each slot consistently in all BRs so the crew skills fit the best always (I still have only a few slots where the crew is on very high level everwhere where it matters).

    Important thing for people to think about in my opinion is what your first vehicle is in a match, do you wanna rush objective, creep the edges of the map, flank enemies or be that one guy everyone loves that spawns in SPAA to counter uptier helicopter players.
    Seeing what map you're playing and which vehicle is best suited for the first push can make such a difference.
    I always see my whole team spawn in T80BVMs and instantly die cuz they rush in vs a team of leopards, I'd rather flank around the side in a 2S25M using its mobility and spotting to gain a strong upper hand at the start.
    Another tip would be looking at the enemy teams nations to know what you can expect to face.
    This will also influence which vehicle you pick and how you want to move around the battlefield. Vs USA you really want to flank as their front is really strong, Germany aim for lower front hull or ammo etc.
    Hope these help some people

    About tickets
    I don't know exact numbers but there are cases when you have the point and tickets bleed for the enemy team but if the enemy captures the point your team's tickets can vanish pretty quickly especially when the match is taking a long time. Don't know the details but it's rather true

    ill add 2 things:
    1- in an older video from gaijin, the chance of blowing up enemy ammo was based on the kinetic energy of the round(im assuming they meant only the non aphe or chemical shells), so pretty much the more energy a round can carry till it reaches the ammo, the bigger the chance to detonate it.
    2- Ive been testing for a while and it seems that HE and HEAT are interchangeable when we are talking about open top vehicles. some heat shots at non vital spots on open top tanks are killing the crew(killed some m10s some days ago by hitting the back corner of the tank with HEAT)

    • @ryanberry_
      @ryanberry_  Рік тому +1

      Yeah HEAT can definitely do the same job as HE and HESH. It just depends on the explosive mass. Even APHE/APCBC with enough filler can perform the same role assuming it fuses on what you hit.

    Depending on the map and the location you want to get to asap, you can obscure yourself by placing an artillery strike between the path where you will be visible/vulnerable for couple seconds and path where the enemies can kill you from. Dropping an artillery creates an effective enough smoke cloud that obscures enemy vision, giving you a better chance to get to your desired location.

  • @ikillstupidcomments
    @ikillstupidcomments Рік тому +2

    1. If you buy a low/mid-tier premium, you can get extra mileage out of it by using it to grind crew skills in multiple slots by assigning it to each slot in turn.
    2. Turn off auto-repair by unticking the wrench checkbox at the right side of your lineup box in the hanger. If you want to keep using a lineup with damaged vehicles you will get a one-click prompt to repair them all when you try to queue again, which adds less than a second to the time you need to do so. In the meantime you get free SL for the time it takes you to load back into the hanger, review the post-match card, assign RP, buy modules, &c. If you have it off when you ragequit/stop playing, the hours or days until the next time you play will reduce the repair cost when you do come back.
    That's especially useful when you're starting out, where every SL counts and free repair times are short. With three lineups of 4-5 vehicles each, you can rotate between lineups and virtually never pay for repairs. Even into late WWII/early Cold War where repair times are a couple days, if you play 6-7 nations with lineups of 7-8 vehicles you can vary which ones you play each day and still barely ever pay for repairs.
    3. Even if you intend to play Realistic (as you should), don't neglect Arcade as a training tool/for early grinding. Low-tier tanks are well-suited to chaining lots of kills, and low-tier vehicles have such meager rewards that getting 10 kills in Arcade is more rewarding than 2-3 in Realistic. It's also very useful for learning common routes and positions because of how the spotting system lets you keep track of the enemy team almost as well as your own, so you get a better idea of where to look and be wary of without needing to get shot first. Most of this knowledge carries over into RB.
    AB is also very useful for learning how to aim low-velocity guns and SPAA. Howitzers and similar tend to be annoying to learn due to the high arc and long reload most are burdened with, so you can use the extra AB reticle to get an idea for how high to elevate for a given distance based purely on visuals instead of needing to use the rangefinder function or minimap. This is true for all guns, but it's most noticeable for these.
    It's great for training with SPAA because of the constant flow of targets due to AB ground support mechanics, the relatively low threat of those aircraft because of semi-random loadouts and limited access to bombs, and the leading crosshair. It's much easier to get a feel for how to lead targets with each AA weapon when you're not guessing based on how the tracers fall while being strafed and bombed by five sky cancer mains with meta setups.

    The crosshair placement part I think yeah its useful to be looking at each corner you pass but the reason people are typically aim a little lower is to avoid the obstruction that the crosshair has. Its a lot of clutter to have over your area of interest and can make it tougher to spot someone if you have that giant double crosshair passing over. I think keeping it just below the horizon is ideal. Another benefit is that it allows you to take flick shots as opposed to tracking shots which is what more people are comfortable doing. Same way in games like cod people who snipe will be looking near a target and only flick over them once they are ready to take a shot.

    Here's a few others:
    1. Entrenching can be useful, not always but it can be useful in some situations where you're able to take advantage of a spot without much opposition. You'll rarely see this in combat but it does exist!
    2. Some vehicles, notably the Type 90 and Type 10/TKX tanks as well as I believe the KPZ-70/MBT-70, have Hydraulic Suspension, this is very rarely taken advantage of but can be used for a variety of things such as better line of sight, tricking the enemy into shooting somewhere they expect and missing or having their shell get eaten by your turret's ERA and internal protection. Additionally, you can force your tank to prioritize height on one track to either force an enemy to miss a shot or partially negate an incline that you're shooting with your tank horizontally on.
    3. Some snowy maps have artificial snow that exists on top of the real collision box. You can tell if you can shoot through it by using binoculars or mouse aim in third person to get a potential shot off. This artificial snow also doesn't appear in Ultra-Low (and possibly Low) Quality settings.

      What I've been told is that the agility skill actually just counts the points of every crew member for the whole tank. but upgrading is much weaker. Kind of like how Field repair works.
      I was also told it counts crew members who aren't even in the tank! so if you're driving something with a Radio operator. But the crew has agility points in that slot. It'll still boost you for that match

    Tip: if your ammo count is a multiple of 5-10 add 1 extra round (I.e. if you have 20 or 25 rounds make it 21 or 26) because that extra round will be in your cannon breach instead of having 20 rounds where the 20th round will be in the breach so you will have 19 in your ammo rack

      yes, for most tanks yes, but there are some minor mistakes on some tanks that have this bugged and you have visually 26 in storage, despite actually having 25 + 1 in the breech. (and i dont mean tanks where multiple rounds are grouped into one stack)

    Great video overall, you brought up some important stuff without going in to way too much detail.
    02:15 - It's worth pointing out most ground vehicle's wiki page details a useful reduced ammo load to avoid filling the turret/hull/whatever under the Ammunition Racks subheading. Click 'Information' after right-clicking a vehicle and go learn some things!
    15:50 - I thought the crew level was only required if you buy the Ace qualification with GE, but doesn't apply if you earned it with RP
    18:00 - I thought you could also win Battle mode by re-capturing your team's point for an instant win, regardless of tickets

      Yeah the Wiki is nice of course, but like I said in the video, I feel like discovering things on your own, using the provided tools, is a better way to retain what you learn. Everyone is different tho
      You definitely don't win Battle by recapping your own zone. I recap it semi-often and it just counts as a capture and nothing happens.

    For new players, since most recent patch, spawn protection either lasts 20 seconds, or 30 meters distance traveled from the point of spawning. It will also mark people that shoot at you while spawn protection is active. This in theory gives you 2-3 free shots on spawn. Use them.
