I wouldn’t call the Tigershark particularly unique and special, given that it’s heavily based on the F-5.

Something of note for the Su-25BM
I saw Hunter use the Kab-500/Kh-29T as a makeshift camera for the laser designator. Doesn't give you tracking but it does allow you to get a much better picture for the laser, plus the laser marker shows up in the middle of the sight so you can see where you're lasing. Not nearly as good as the Su-25T/39s targeting pod, but definitely will let you use the Kh-25MLs along with some bombs and missiles
A decent free* option to the Su-39 (*the Su-25T exists plus anyone who wants it now has to spend money if they dont already have the stars)
Su-25T requires any progress made in Strike branch, which I'm afraid might take longer than 8 stars for close enough copy. And then as I have rather modest progress in Russian Air in general, I'll take it anyway, probably for Sim though whenever 10.7-11.3 bracket returns.
That's a somewhat common trick, but I haven't mentioned it because TBH I'm not entirely sure if its intended behavior or is going to get patched out at some point (like the LOAL with the R-27ER). Taking a single KAB-500 as an improvised targeting pod is, **for now** , a pretty legit thing to do.

Tim, thanks for finally answering the question that none of the other content creators were answering: "Does it have an auto-tracker?" Its absence makes me wonder if this frogfoot will eventually be downtiered once the hype around the R-73 dies off and the Su-25T and Su-39 get given their R-73s?
Yeah, that's ... a really critical detail .... (the autotracker)
hopefully it gets put to 10.7 with little to no downteirs.. and zero upteirs because this suffers in 11.3
@@exoltalMy guy that's not how matchmaking works. 10.7 BR will get you downtiers like at least 50% of the time.
@@mayonotes9849 They were able to limit M1 spawns to 4 M1s every game when it came out due to how broken it was. If they can do that, they should be able to limit how much a certain vehicle gets downteired or upteired.

As a Bulgarian I can confirm they were in Bulgaria at the May 6 military parade.
Sadly I missed the opportunity to record them, I got the mig-29s though.

I only really wanted this jet for the new cockpit tbh, It's much more usable than the other Su-25s but this one also doesnt have the ugliness of the Su-25T/39. The only downside is the non-upgraded optics but I'll be mainly using this in sim anyways to grind my Russian TT at the higher tiers. Also man is it a lot more of a handful to fly in comparison to my Harriers lmao, something about low level pilots?
Seems...worth selling currently lol (for an Air RB player). I wonder though eventually when more advanced vehicles get added if this thing might start to see more downtiers, similar to current 10.7. They will certainly raise the BR ceiling up to 12.3 or 12.7, meaning 12.0 will then get uptiered lots at that point. That plus them fixing the R-73s soonish, this plane might become much more enjoyable in Air RB. Maybe it's worth holding onto then? Tough

Hey Tim, there was a post on reddit yesterday talking about this being the target towing version of the su-25, and in the comments someone did point out that its not the Russian bm, but the Belarusian bm, they're not the same thing. the Belarusian bm was an upgrade to bolster the armament and weapons systems, thus lengthening its service life.
The info I was able to find suggested the upgraded planes kept their original designations, and nothing mentioned the BM suffix.
Humble request for the Gloster meteor being the first allied jet in mass production(to my knowledge) look forward to your next vid regardless tho.

On another note... was kinda surprised how many of these were in Air RB today. It's still an Su-25 and on that front... all it has going for it is the R-73... which roughly acts like a 9L in regards to flare resistance. Don't see it being too popular when the 73 gets put on actual fighters and stuff. Guess this is a decent enough way to test it since it seems so many people are still scarred from its original iteration when the MiG-29 was in testing. I did have one straight up eat a direct hit from my Sparrow and keep flying to... teammates Sparrow right behind mine actually killed it lol
Air RB is going to be flooded with them for a week or two as everyone who got one has to grind the upgrades for it before putting it in their CAS lineup.
@@TimsVariety Huh I actually didn't know that. Thought all the upgrades were default like a premium? I've never gotten event vehicles or anything.
@@KaguyasBeat No, the silver non-premium event vehicles usually come stock like a regular vehicle out of the tech tree.
Even though it sucks, i think itll be great for my top tier Russian ground loadout. I never got around to grinding Russian air so this is gonna be perfect!
I think a lot of people are going to be in that situation.
@@TimsVarietynot sure if ur gonna see this, but i came back to this jet and it actually ended up being a good sl griner in arb. I would just fly around the edge of the map, get bases, and then pick out ground targets while occasionally getting an air target. I would just turn on my periodic cm in enemy territory and id be fine

It's cute but I think I'll stick with the tech tree Su-25 when I get to it, nothing wrong with this plane but the BR it's at isn't so fun to play. After playing the Chinese starter heli I'm starting to really appreciate the well designed cockpits in game (you need to use the pilot gunsight to score accurate hits with the fixed MG on the pylon), the cabin lights actually lit up dials and displays when I turned it on!
I'd really appreciate some content on Sim modes if you play them much.
Chinese Starter heli is straight up just better then the next one the Z-9W coz thermals and they have same missile too
Z-9W doesn't get thermals for some reason idk why it doesn't make much sense
However it does get TY-90's max 4... and it gets the Tandem variant of the ATGM that Z-11WA uses but it's basically same missile... and it's bad

However the Z-9WA gets thermals... and like double the loadouts... it can carry like what 8x TY-90's and 8x ATGM's and gets 4x ATGM's stock compared to only 2x like the previous helis
Also range of them is 3km still... RIP... at 10.3 too
Not to mention it all needs to be spaded first to be used lol

Honestly, right now, the biggest issue with trying to fly the plane is the absolutely toxic player base. Of the dozen matches I have flown 8 of them ended at the runway because of either getting gunned down during takeoff, or being rammed into and force into the ground by friendly aircraft. Then being told that I was "ruining the game by bringing that garbage plane" or "hope the event grind was worth getting bullied"
Honestly, I want to at least TRY to enjoy the plane. But it seems the community has decided that only sweat lords are allowed to play at 11-12 BR right now.
There are, unfortunately, a lot of players .. including a few other youtubers by the way .. at the top tier who honestly believe if you aren't flying the vehicle that currently pushes the edge of the meta that you're just a complete drain on your team and shouldn't be allowed to try to have any fun.
Then they wonder why people quit the game.

Hey tim, late comment I know, but I was wondering when you mentioned the low optic zoom if it's like the su25/su25k or if it's just a lower zoom tgp like on the su25t,su39, and mig27k

Sad thing for AIR battles the sim especially the wings being cantilevered meaning attempting to maneuver quickly to get to the ground to be more protected from aim7s
@TimsVariety glad you did a Review on this Su you do a pretty good one every time. But what I don't like about the Su25's is that IRL the gun pods had the ability to move up and down during flight to certain angles but Gaijin didn't model this into the game for them.

It's made for infantry... you fly straight and shoot gunpods down

@@kajmak64bit76 I like realism and gaijin gives a tiny bit of this but that's why I play DCS usually when I want realism for a Jet. But they actually do have those gun pods on DCS and it makes a big difference even in a dog fight if your choice is to have one with it.

On one hand, I think its nice for ground mains to get an opportunity to get a cas jet without grinding the tech tree, but on the other hand it would be REALLY nice to get a little variety from the events.....
I missed out on the plane but I honestly don’t care though. It’s nice that it got R-73s, but it only carries two of them, and it’s not an Air Superiority Fighter or Multirole Fighter which is what you want in Air SB or RB. Cool plane nonetheless.

That may be a bug, which is why I didn't mention it in the video. You use one of the KAB-500 tv bombs as an improvised targeting pod and use its camera zoom to find targets for the laser.
Note it seems the ECCM isnt really working the thing is more hungry for flares then the R60m.
I didn't mention it in the review, but the R-73 has some issues/bugs confirmed by the snail, and they told me the issues are being worked on right now. We'll see, I guess. ...
@TimsVariety ya I saw the post they made about them. I can only hope it gets a proper fix. Not sure why they havnt been testing it noting it was removed when the Mig 29 got added. Kinda expected it to be ready but maybe it was a different problem that popped up when they added it to the game.
Is it worth it to grind this plane? I have some top tier russian tanks but cannot be bothered grinding planes, I want to have some capable cas on my lineup.
This is quite the capable cas jet, for sure.

Wait why does this Su-25 get R-73s when other jets that used it doesn't? Are they using the Su-25BN as a testbed to balance the R-73?
The answers from snailstaff are that they wanted to give this one something to stand out, and yes to testbed the missile.
I didnt mention it in the vid but its confirmed bugged to shit, and being actively worked on for a fix.
Yeah, it seems to have an issue where it loses a lot of energy at range because it wobbles massively when trying to fly straight (or mostly straight) which limits the range quite a lot. It's still absolutely monstrous at R-60 ranges though which is quite amusing.

@@TimsVariety Seems like most of the R missiles are buggy. I R-27R1s like to do barrel rolls and then fuck off to the sun. Maybe the snail snorted some coke and accidentally added a wobble code to all missiles while trying to find a way to push premium to new people.

Russia is getting Another Strike Aircraft and Italy can't even get AMX/A-11. It has been on forums for 6 Years now. Italy still doesnt have Mavericks and only CAS jet is a tornado

I am outraged by this event. Not by the vehicles but by the camos it offers for those vehicles, for the su-25bm it has a camo called "digital" but it is the exact same camo as the su-25k "Bulgarian 24,"
It pisses me off because i collect camos for vehicles for historical rp but the bm has the complete copy camo and im upset i wasted time on it
You know, I had considered talking about that for a minute in the review, but decided against it. The Bulgarian camo is, as you said, basically a copy and I expect some folks might get annoyed by that.
The game totally needed 5000 of these jets, while the A10 is still incredibly useless in practice.
The Su-25 has a G limit of 6.5 IRL but not in WT and a top speed of Mach 0.79 or 950km/h but not in WT so guess Gaijin cut a lot more than a few corners. But I'm sure Gaijin isn't done adding more variants of the Su-25 cause there is still more

TBH, as vet of War Thunder this star event, wasn't worth the grind at all. Fight me, but previous rewards were better.

@@ICECAPPEDSKY I can agree on the Sd.Kf.z (car) reward, I always wanted it, it's just too cool, I wasn't aviable to do it, so I missed out on it. Nowadays it seems like most of the rewards for stars are underwhelming. I sold every single one of them. Object 279 included (just because I needed gaijin coins,, still 90-95 coins profit). I haven't got the incentive to work towards a vehicle, excluding sturmtiger, since most of the rewards were hit or miss. Sure I was doing them, but just to sell them on the market, not for myself.

As per usual in these events, the tank is alright and the aircraft is just garbage. Sure the R-73s are good in general, it's just not good for the plane.
Are there not modernized MIG-21’s with R73 capability. If so that would’ve been a good vehicle.
