Thank mate. Thats what I was hoping for with the vids on the dragon fruit so people can see in advance which ones griw here and what they are like. Enjoy your Sunday 👍
G'day Neil, there was no unpleasant flavour at all and after the Aussie Gold I was probably being a bit fussy. It's one of those fruits you could eat a lot of cos its not too intense. Especially in hot weather
Yes and it was still good, still better than a standard one and sometimes too sweet is not very moreish so it will add some diversity to the selections. Cheers
Hello, I am in Melbourne, we get dry hot sun in summer directly above. I do not shade these, they get full sun but they would also do OK in dappled light. In fact they would probably look healthier with some shade but maybe less fruit. Thank you for your question
@@UrbanBounty oh thank you! I'm in Sydney and we live in a forest with dappled light most of the time and I believe this might be what they are like in the wild? Anyway, congrats on your beautiful plants and thanks for the vids mate.
@@igaudion973 that's awesome. As far as rare fruit goes, I think Sydney is Sub-tropical. I have mates with fruiting Lychee, mango and jakfruit there. If you have any questions gling forward, drop me a comment. If they grow here, they'll grow for you for sure
What a beautiful dragon fruit blossoms….and the fruit looks really good. Refreshing dragon fruit on a hot day sounds good to me 😀
Yes mate, I'm glad that I started growing these!
those flowers are amazing! Cheers for the taste tests, if I'm gonna grow one its good to know which varieties bring it flavour wise

It looked really nice on the inside! Looks like you still have a good amount of dragon fruit yet to come!
Hi Peter, yes there's heaps of fruit on the vines still. I think next season will be even better.
Certainly looks awesome 👍

Thanks for the info.
No excuse if i can't grow these and Aussie Gold in Brisbane :)
No worries.
Have you seen my mate from Brisbanes channel? Doug's Urban Farm?
He has 40 varieties now
The pink dragon fruit looks beautiful! I think ìf you cut the fruit and leave it for a few days before eating it it will be sweeter
Thank you for the tip Sang La! The pink one is still very good.
The next one will be red or purple
looking good mate
Thanks Gareth! Hope you had a great long weekend mate
@@UrbanBounty yes I did thanks. Your garden is looking amazing.
A very interesting colour to that flesh, pretty looking fruit even if it was a little bland 🤪

@@UrbanBounty thanks buddy appreciated
They might get tastier as the vine matures, all my fruit have tasted better second year. The colour looks good and not tons of seeds.
Thanks for the tip Doug.
It was still good, I could eat a heap in one sitting, I'll definitely be keeping it !
