Just WOW 😮!! How ?? So neat and exciting to see buds on your Logan tree. We have to see a video of the Logan tree updates. Yum ♥️🌵🌵🌵👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #dragonfruit #loganfruittree
Hi there. When you grow the tropical trees in Melbourne you just need to protect them when they are young and once they become bigger they can usually handle Melbourne weather
@@kebunbahagiabersama3351 hello and yes very cold. It got down to minus 2 here on Wednesday and I think it will be in minus again on the weekend. I covered the dragonfruit with beach umbrellas ☂️
@@lyonheart84 hi Brett, yes it felt great to see such bright colour in tge garden at this time of year. There is a stubborn high pressure system above my state at the moment bringing great fishing weather as there is no wind to speak of but the next 5 nights get down to 0 or thereabouts at mine which will be the biggest test my garden has had thus far. I'm focusing on fishing until then lol
Absolutely incredible as always 👌 Sadly ours, although still in the greenhouse, I fear is not going to make it 😞 I included a clip of it in this Friday's garden walk. If you have any tips on what you think it would be incredibly appreciated. Not sure if it is just a step too cold up here.
@@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus hello again, Could you please tell me the name of your video with the dragonfruit in it, I couldnt find one from Friday. Cheers
@UrbanBounty where I started going wrong is buying one labled 'assorted dragonfruit'. I saw it when using a birthday gift voucher and thought I would give it a go. But that means I don't even know the variety.
@@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus haha, thats ok. After I re read I realised you meant this Friday. It gave me a chance to watch your day in the life vid. That is really great homesteading 👍👍
@@Coolclimatetropicalfruits Gday mate, it's a ripper. So far the most vigorous variety even though its yet to fruit is the lemonade. That thing is a growth machine
@@dougs_urbanfarm my brother further up the coast has had success with the citrus lemonade this year for the first time. I'm looking forward to trying it
@@VirginiaFruitGrower yes G. The next week has maximums of 52f and minimums of 32f so I figured this is as ripe as it will get and it was still my fave dragonfruit thus far. There were sections within the fruit that may have even been sweeter. Cheers 😀
Fantastic result, great job. Do you cop frosts there? I've got 3 young Dragon Fruits from Daley's ready to start my adventure. Got some solid frosts here in Bega NSW this year.
@@mogsta Gday, yes we get lots of frosts here. The forescast for this week is maximums of 12 and lows of 2. Most of these types of plants are ok in a local microclimate or once established they become hardy
@@eox7036 it was nice, probably not ripe enough for complex flavours but it was a mellow and quite sweet. I expect it to have more flavours like berry when it ripens in summer

You Tricia looks great and so does your garden fruits.
@@TexasDragonFruit thank you very much mate 👍
Looks amazing! Bout to cut up one of my lemonades for dessert tonight if only it was a Tricia 🙂
@@TemperateTropicalDownUnder have you tasted lemonade before? I haven't had one lemonade yet but I think I'll get a few this year
@@UrbanBounty yes it’s ok not my favourite but pleasant. I’m hoping they improve in the future. I hope you enjoy yours in the future.
Wow, it had a beautiful colour on the inside! It's great to see it turned out pretty good despite the cooler weather!
@@PeterEntwistle Gday Peter, this variety also seems pretty hardy to the weather too, on the vine itself.
Cheers
Cold temperature this week, but your dragon fruit is ripening in your garden. Looks juicy yummy.

The dragon fruit trellis setup is great & Tricia variety flesh looks amazing 👍
Hello mate! Thanks and yes I would highly recommend the Tricia 👍
I bet there aren't many other folks enjoying home grown dragonfruit in Melbourne at this time of year!
Haha, only us wierdos! Wouldn't have it any other way, it brightened up an otherwise dull Sunday arvo 👍
Really incredible to see those fruiting in winter and a great size, just take up too much space sadly to try here
