So no matter what there’s some sort of splicing that needs to be done when hooking up a sub to the factory harnesses right?

Question here, I have everything wired up the same regarding running power from the battery to the amp, good ground and power going to the amp terminals, however the amp will still not turn on when i turn my car on, the amp definitely works as i hooked it into another vehicle. Any ideas?

IK im late but I just got my gt2, I did everything exactly same in the video, even the LOC ground to the ground in the amp. My amp stays on after car is shut off, or atleast when i can see the amp because i have to open the hatch. Does it instantly turn on when anything is touched powering all? Orrrr does it turn off eventually? or never, im stuck

Ran into the same problem...I'd say run a switch that equal to the fuse on the power

@@Ab.thebarber i should've replied to my own comment but. turns out that it powers off after time it doesn't stay running and kill your battery.

You would get far more bass out of your system hooking to the door speakers instead of the sub-wire. The reason being is the crossover in the amp is very limited and would give you the same limits as the factory ones.

Which door speakers? the front or the rear? They do matter.

did you see a gain control on the stock sub amp? wonder if we can turn it up?

    • @jonathan4831
      @jonathan4831 2 роки тому

There is a way to bypass the stock amp for the underseat subs and provide a dedicated amp. Someone posted a video about it on UA-cam a few months ago.

  • @nicholasferger3922

also did this retain the factory subs under the seats...thanks??

    • @ninthbit74

So, I just did this with a JL JD500/1 on a '22 GT2. I retained both factory subs added 2xJL 10W1v3-4 in a 1.5cu.ft. sealed enclosure. Because of the JD500/1, I only spliced into one sub feed from the HK amp for the mono input and the ACC feed for the remote. The install was SUPER simple and took me and my stepson less than an hour. As the subs are 10s, they don't reach as low as 12s or 15s, but this setup really rounds out the system and the remote db knob allows flexibility to pound the SPL if/when I want.
Kudos to A&E for the vid!

Which trim of stinger do you have? I got a gt2 and am gonna tap the subwoofer wires for the lc2i speaker inputs but I’ve heard multiple differing things about where the enhanced engine noise comes out of. Which speaker wires did you tap into?

When you used the battery wire/the red wire on the harness to plug into for your signal wire, did your amp turn off or did it stay on?

    • @ninthbit74

I tied into the ACC feed and my amp drops power when the car is turned off (opening the driver's door after shutting it down).

I wired the remote wire to a fuse that cuts on and off with the car like the 12v outlet or the radio so my amp can cut off with the car
