Right under the computer, behind the battery is a large rubber grommet where the wires come in, and it has plenty of space for the power wire to be ran. No need to drill!
@@losvstheworld No, I did put a hole in it, and it's two layers, but that is much easier and cheaper to replace/fix than a drilled hole in the firewall. Plus less likely to hurt something else.
@@inyoudeep1 could you help me understand how you made the holes? So obviously I can stick my finger in through the driver side of the grommet, and if I poke around i can feel the wires, but when I feel the engine side of the grommet it almost feels like theres solid metal on the other side of the rubber. so i guess what im asking is where you made the engine bay side hole? and did you make it from the inside?
Actually drilling is the easiest. The grommet has a metal cap over it. You could go by the latch wire for the hood but it’s so difficult to go through the main grommet
Just installed an amp and dual 12s in my 2023 forte this way and it works. Soldered the speaker connections as well. Did the fuse trick in the video with no problems.
Do you have a link to the crimps or what you used to connect the loc to the speaker wires I have the crappy ones and they will not hold my skar loc one bit because it has a little bit of weight to it
first of all thank you for making this video. i know it takes time to film and upload a video. Not to say you can't do the installation this way, because i have seen installers cheat by basically using one speakers output to go into 2 inputs on the amp. In some cases it doesn't sound good, because you are degrading the signal into the amp, since your not using a line out converter. I usually take the signal from each rear speaker, which is more work, but you get a cleaner signal into the converter. I never use the high inputs into the amp, they give you a high input, and the bass is not as deep. I also use a converter with a remote output, so you don't have to look for an ignition wire. You just have to send 3 wires from the converter to the amp, power, ground, and remote, and you attach them right at the amps power, ground and remote inputs. since you will have power from the battery, ground from chassis, and the remote would be coming from the line out converter to the amp input. This is just another cleaner way to do the installation, but your way is not wrong. I have been doing installations for over 29 years. thanks again for making the video, alot of good information here. The color codes for the rear speakers are the most important thing here. rear left speaker yellow + rear left speaker black - i believe the rear right speaker brown + rear right speaker white -
So this one doesn't have the Harmon system? If so, no need to cut into the wires for the door speakers. They are both already ran to the 8" i the trunk.
I know I'm late on this reply but only the gt series has the Harmon system with subs in the back. I have a brand new 2024 forte and it only has the door speakers that have absolutely no bass
I have to say this is a ok video of installing. But the methods of pigtailing off other speaker and.. make sheft fuse thing is ok.. but im no pro installer but have had and installed many. I use a fuse system under the hood at the battry. Then ground off the amp in the truck with out really having to scrach paint. I run my wire thro a boot in the fire wall. I mean if the harmany system does not have a output for amp there are things u can picktail off the head unit with out compermizing the harnes. My 23 is the fully loaded gt i plan on upgrading my sub later to simthing lil more.
Does the twisted wire hack work on all kias cause I have a 24 soul and trying to add a sub well a few subs so I also need to find the wires on the right as well
In the 2024 Seltos for the RR speaker brown + and white - / LR yellow + and black - not much space to tap in and wires are really tight. No play there but there’s is no “T” harness made for our véhicule. I guess it’s too early on the market. So I tapped in those wires.
Yes i removed the passenger side lower pillar and tapped in to the speaker wire and ran the loc @dylansitler2771 I recently started using the skar audio ske2loc it's awesome bro more advanced features than the basic loc for around 70.00 it's comparable to the audio control style advanced line out converters they are awesome
Did you ever get an answer on this? There definitely is a sub. So you could hook hi-lo into that. Run power to battery, but where do you hook the remote into??
@@WilBuildIt just get an audio control line out converter with remote sense. As soon as it sees an audio signal it will send 12v to turn on amplifier.
I installed a sub in my 22 forte lxs and I used that input (rear driver side speaker) and it seems like the sub is hardly there with rock and is decently loud with rap but not as loud as it should be. When I fade the sound to the rear (where the input comes from) it sounds pretty good but the car isn't as loud overall then. So I'm kinda thinking either I need to do the passenger side as well for the input. Or tap into the front doors. Or maybe it's something else. I put 2 8in l7s they are running at 2 ohms (I have checked ohms with multimeter) I also double checked polarity. I have a jbl amp that is 600 at two I know I'm slightly underpowered for the 900 watt RMS speaker combo but still it should be pretty loud lol

Buy a fuse tap and you can add on another circuit to the ignition fuse location
so for my 2022 kia forte gt I would need a converter to get my subs to work
Yes 👍
It depends on the amplifier you are going to run. Many amps can now take speaker level in and even have a remote turn on signal sense built in.
