- When we arrived home today, I noticed that something wasn’t right with badger. We immediately loaded him up in a trailer to take him to the vet at this point is when we learned that it was a possible heat stroke. I’ll take full responsibility for this. We did try to get them clipped here about a month and a half ago but unfortunately the people have already been down in this area. We are so grateful for all the prayers everybody said.

As a mom and a grandma my heart broke seeing Addison crying. She has a huge caring, and loving heart, God blessed her. I am truly blessed to be able to follow your family. Please give Addison a extra gentle hug from a Canadian grandma. Thank you Marie and William for being there to help with badger.

Sissy, when these things happen start praying for that animal or bird, and thank GOD for helping them. GOD loves all these creatures TOO. HE created them and they are precious to HIM too.
Everybody needs a friend and neighbor like Marie. She always seems to be there when she's needed. As for Badger, I am so glad you guys jumped on it as quick as you did and prevented a tragedy. He is such a sweet little animal......way more than livestock. He is family....Right, Addison? Her little heart was close to breaking. I know she is relieved that Badger is going to be OK.

Badger having darker colored hair probably made the heat even worse on him. He looks so good with his new hair cut. Thanks Marie for coming to the rescue so fast!

Good idea. Some other farm channels use sprinklers and mist fans to help their animals cool off. Smaller animals that like water they use kiddie pools with water for them to cool off. Anything like that helps. And lots of clean drinking water and shade. Hope Badger recovers quickly.

Glad William and Marie are so close and had the right equipment. Hopefully Badger will do better in this horrible heat now and I think hosing him down to get his body temperature lower made a big difference too. Sweet little Addison...she was so scared.

I really like how you went into action as soon as you saw that there was something wrong with him. You really stayed calm and in front of the kids I’m sure it was very hard but these things happen in life and especially on a farm. Why I told you this Brandon because in the end I had a heart attack & 2 mini strokes don’t want this to happen at any age and it can happen I was 38 yrs old but now changed my life ❤

We all learn as we go. We can't prepare for everything that will happen, however, we can do our best to tackle those situations when they arise. Which you did.
