Sneaking in the “keep on truckin” to the guy at the truck stop made me smile. Thanks for letting us be a part of your adventures, Mav!
Same! I paused to find a comment about it. That was an awesome plug. I’m glad he took advantage of the opportunity to sneak it in.
the way he smiled and laughed after saying it too😂
racist bs at 20:01 had to unsub why are all white people like this?
I missed that part and had to rewatch because the UA-cam captions has it as “investors keep on drugging” 😂
Same I replayed it 3times and check the comment section if I am not the only one who noticed it😅
Cleaning the bird was admirable and is a very cool survival skill. Too cool!
Right broo he just gets cooler 😎
fr
Serious respect for Mav. Dunno why he’d expect judgment. I agree it’s admirable.
Jeff dahmer ???
Mad respect! My only thought was the lack of restrooms if he happened to get sick from the bird. Lol
I got to tell ya, as the proud owner of an F-150 myself, your truck's reliability has been impressive with all the miles and places you've driven it. Rock on man!
I swear this guy has driven this truck everywhere all over Mexico USA and Canada without any problems at all
He's got a 5.0 right? pretty reliable engines. I wonder how often he changes his oil
@@MRMV483 I have a 2018 F-150 with the 5.0V8. I don't think he's ever mentioned it but from the sound of his truck on video, it sounds like the EcoBoost V6 to me.
I think he mentioned he had a 5.0 at some point🧐
@@MRMV483 that f150 is a 5.0
All I could think of was the granny from the Beverly hillbillies with the shovel picking up roadkill, priceless brother 🤣
My dad took a trip to Alaska and fell in love. He wanted us to go together and he wanted to move there. He died before either happened, so I’m loving this Alaskan vid series, to see some of what my dad saw. Maybe some day I’ll visit.
My father also fell in love with AK, so much he bought a house in Girdwood... He passed and the house got sold, and I really miss that Mountain and area!
Do it go
As an Australian I wished me and my old man had done a trip around together. He'd been basically everywhere but I still haven't been to 3 states and I'm 40 now. Keep in mind, the USA has 50 states, we have 8 and including Alaska & Hawaii we're over 70% the size. My home state is close to 1.5 the size of Texas and has a population of just over 8 million whilst Texas has 28. Takes a long time to drive anywhere :)
Do it. Some of the most incredible views I’ve ever seen
The Dalton highway is exactly how the Alaska-Canada highway (the Alcan as us Alaskans call it) used to be back in the 80's when I first drove up to Alaska. All dirt and gravel with semis flying past throwing rocks at us. Everyone used to build these huge screens that we would bungee on the front of the car to deflect the rocks. It was really ghetto and funny looking but it was worth it to save he windshield. I once drove up from Washington state in December and there was so much snow. We drove around this lake in the Yukon at midnight and it was a full moon. Everything glowed white with all the snow and I felt as though I was driving on the moon. It was the coolest experience. I've driven the Alcan 6 times, 3 times in the summer, once in the fall and twice in the winter. It's always amazing and I'm so thankful for experiencing it back when it was super remote.
Hey mav, Decklan from northern British Columbia here. Camping out in Kamloops B.C while I attend school. You inspired me! Cheers, watching from the trailer 😎
Here I am, up at 2:45 AM, and yet again being inspired by good ole Mav to drop everything, buy a truck, and take that thing everywhere. You’re a big inspiration Mav!!
As a truck driver I can say climbing with heavy loads we have no choice on going slow. But you all get your stuff in stores =)
ive been to the alaskan arctic circle once, its definitely anxiety inducing at some points but i wouldnt mind doing it again, it was an amazing experience.
It's very different here in Europe though, very mild climate in Norway at the coast
You know Mav you are like a little brother to me. I like checking up on you and becoming enlightened with your travels. You are a great guy that has an infectious smile and a great ability to tell stories with the best editing. I used to work for NBC and I know how to tell a story with visuals and sound pops. You have had some experience or you are a natural. I love your parents by the way. Take care and keep on trucking
At 14:34, did you notice the blood spatter on his windshield? Yeah, a truck did hit the bird. 😂
I remember taking a ride up the dalton highway and just as a tip, the truckers up there all use hand-held radios to communicate with each other and they all use channel 19. Hope I’m a help! Have fun your trip! 👍
They were probably talking to one another on the radio, noting with glee when they saw the pretty guy in the white F-150 pass by. I'm sure they were all fans and viewers, just like we are.
@@fu9793 thats a big 10-4
@@fu9793 You lookin for The Bandit? 😂
Nice gesture to keep the door open for the others, kindness is free. That caught my attention👍
Yes, free but very valuable 😊
As I sit here the day after my 4th chemo infusion, this video is the best medicine. So breathtakingly beautiful, soothing, and relaxing. This trip couldn’t have happened at the best time for me. Thanks so much for driving through a state I’d always wanted to visit. Love all your vids.
*at a better time for me.
Heal well and go on your road trip ❤🙏🏼
🙏🙏🙏
Hey Mav. So happy you showed the Alaska pipeline… my cousin and her husband lived in Valdez for years . He helped build that pipeline and they loved that time in their life, saying it was one of the best places they have lived!
I’m going to let them know about your channel!
What a trip that Dalton Hwy is, those pot holes made me so nervous 😮! Ok Mav , let’s do this…..I have my coffee in hand , blanket wrapped around me and ready to “Keep on Truckin”
Once again Mav takes us where we have never been before. And at 72yrs old, I will doubtfully never see in person. Thank you for the armchair adventures you take us on. Kudos on 2million plus subscribers also. 🌈🐲💖
Make sure not to claim that fake prize, it’s a scam
Mav never fails to make my day better 😁
Same.
Ngl i am having quite a bad day and he did bright my day up
Scam

hi, Greg;s wife here, just watching this video, WOW what beautiful scenery, there's days I would love to get on the road with our daughter and just drive, you have more guts then us! love your videos, keep on truckin! Jodi
The “Keep on Truckin’” motto you slid in at the restaurant was awesome. 👏🏾 👏🏾
This is definitely at the top of being one of your best episodes and quite intense! As a mom this one had me on pins and needles. What a great adventure! You be safe and can’t wait for next week’s video. 🙂
Calm down, Karen
I agree I was so nervous when he drove over that bridge. 😂
@@mistiburke6564 I was nervous when he got to the road turning into mud. Also was worried about him talking about driving til 9 in the dark on that sketchy road. Was so glad he pulled off and then ate that bird. 🤦♀️
I imagine one of my 2 sons, his age, doing this.
always making Sundays the best
its Monday here 🤧
You should make merchandise with it saying “ain’t nothing wrong with road side chicken”
I love the fact that you shoot all of this in super high quality HD, and then snap pictures of the scenery with a disposable camera. Really love the content. Keep it up!
You inspired me to take my first solo trip. It was 3200 miles from Houston to Big Bear lake in California and back in 4 days. No hotels. And cooked everything from my truck. Great experience can't wait to take my next one.
Living in Southern California, Big Bear is one of my favorite places. Only about a 90 minute drive from me. Hope you had a good visit!
My ex and I once went from MO to SD, saw My Rushmore and the Badlands, Custer wildlife loop to Spearfish (gorgeous camping), up to MT and the battlefields at Greasy Grass, across to Yellowstone south to Green River, West and saw Cheyenne and Laramie. Can't remember how far the journey was but we took 2 weeks and only got a hotel in KS because it was too dang hot to camp. Otherwise only camping. Wonderful trip, I semi repeated it years later when my folks moved to WY, but not camping. Imo
Been wanting to a trip like that from Houston, there’s no mountain scenery here out anywhere close 😢
Still watching and waiting to get my confidence too 😂🥹
Alaska is one of my favorite places. I’ve gone 7 times and never tire of the beauty and the people are great. I’m so glad you are having these adventures while you’re young. Thanks for taking us along, Mav.
14:30 Bird is a Ptarmigan. The change colors in the seasons. if you stand on the wings and pull the feet you can basically pullout the whole breastplate without dealing with a ton of feathers. The gizzards are also super good to eat. You have to cut them open and peal off the "leather" skin on the inside where all the rocks and berries are ground up.
Wait, did we watch entirely different videos? Doesn’t seem like he prepares any birds in this one
It’s nice to hear someone else describe the same way you feel about something. Good job dear
ayo deadass Mav is a real one for scoopin up that fresh road kill lol
Hey Mav, was born and raised in Alaska and on the Yukon this time of year the most targeted species would be anyone of the 5 Salmon species (not keeping King Salmon because of the decline in population though), Burbot, Grayling, as well as Trout and other whitefish species. I would highly recommend trying go fishing for Halibut and Salmon while your there as its the best you can get in the world, the trout and pike can get quite monstrous as well. The over the road reflectors are for winter when the snow is that deep so you can know your still on the road. Keep up the great work!
There ain't nothing wrong with keeping those salmon young man
@@the2ndcoming380 I have kept King salmon in the past but as there becoming increasingly rare I do believe it to be smart to put them back to spawn so future generations have the opportunity I did. Ill never forget hooking that 62 pound king on the Kenai with my grandfather or the white meat king I hooked in Seward, but as time goes by even in my short 24 years I've seen a massive decrease of kings to the point I don't find it ethical to keep them unless for survival. To each there own, though I'm not in charge of peoples decision making haha. Have a good one!
This is one of the greatest trips. My family drove great lakes to Prudhoe Bay when I was 13. I love being able to relive through your video. Safe travels 🗺
You inspired me to snag a F150 for my road trip after seeing how reliable yours is. Really pleased so far, and what a comfort on the road too. Keep givin' er bud
The short poles indicate snow height and the edge of the road for the grader's to clear.
9:56 that still better than Canada hurt my soul a little bit! Great video
You are beautiful, MAV. Seriously!!!!!
Seeing your face as you stopped at that River above the truck stop. It made my heart cheer. And laugh. And wish I was experiencing it, too. (I kinda did). Much love! ❤
WOW - driving the Dalton! A great adventure, Mav, which most of us will never have the opportunity to do. Thank you for taking us along!
Sundaze call for some Coffee n Mav ☕️
What an epic drive! Gotta love those fall colours 👌🏼
Awesome seeing u going on the Dalton highway! I was there Feburary this year and it was an awesome trip. Definitely difficult but we pulled it through with a 2wd rental. All kinds of issues happened I won't bore u with the details. We stayed at brooks camp when in Prudhoe Bay, u gotta visit there they've got the most friendly and helpful staff there. They work 12 hour shift and they still spent a lot of time after working helping when our car won't start. Btw, internet is blazing fast there too. Oh and those poles along the side of the road is for blizzard, we drove the last 70 miles to Deadhorse in blizzard with literally no visibility. Trucks can use them as guide and we just followed trucks to get there. Otherwise we'd be in the ditches for sure. Have fun and u gotta go there in winter again, completely different views!
Just moved to Alaska 2 months ago. And love it here
Can we all just admire the fact that Mav still uses a WIND UP CAMERA to take pictures of the mountains.... while using an Iphone to film parts of his episode. Classic.
Yeah I definitely was not expecting that lol
That’s a disposable film camera. He must like the way film looks over digital which I think is pretty awesome.
@@bobharley2814 I’ve always loved how film looks rather than digital, might be the never knowing if it’s a good picture till it’s developed too! Mav gives me hope that one day I can take a trip like this myself!!
I still take my little Olympus Trip 35mm around with me. If you get one good picture it's worth it.
Lmao it’s a trend right now to take pictures using a disposable cameras
Taking a chance eating roadkill miles way from nowhere..now that's our Mav.
Such beautiful scenery! Thank you for sharing❤
new subscriber and love this channel. I'm middle aged and really needing to find myself and clear my head and thinking about taking a month or two on the road and planning my trip now. thanks for the inspiration!
Mav this video was too sick, everyone is routing for you, and I can only imagine how the stress levels get when making such a rural trip around the globe. I hope you make or have made it there safe, cheers my dude
I used to be until his racist bs at 20:01 had to unsub why are all white people like this?
Mav cleaning the bird was a power move. True alpha behavior
Some good eating. Make a good soup.
Alpha behaviour ? Get out of here with these crap. Let us enjoy in peace
Only betas think they're alphas.
@@xoazaria lol
alphas don't exist in the wild
I did the same trip when I graduated college. Flew to Fairbanks, rented a truck with a camper in the back, and drove up to Pruedo Bay!
wow just beautiful. living thru you maverick
Maybe those over-road reflective signs are for when the snow gets really high
Great road trip for all of us to see. Ice road truckers were fantastic shows and now you are showing us what it really looks like..very well done. Love your adventures.
I have faith in you Mav. Keep on trucking. Stay focused. Enjoy the adventure. Stay safe.
This is a dream trip of mine! Alaska isn't called the Final Frontier for no reason! It's so beautiful and I can't wait to experience this myself. Also claiming the bird meat was completely normal bro, and you left the rest for a passing critter. Love ya brother. So excited to see what's left of this series! ✌️
I’m addicted to this channel…I feel like I’m on an adventure every time I watch an episode…great videos and commentary
Same here

Facts
Same. Found Mav during a really bad breakup and found solace in watching his videos. It’s so awesome to see where he’s gone after just the 2 years I’ve been watching him.
Keep the MAVentures rolling in!
Right on man glad you made through the Yukon canada I’m from the Yukon nice country hey, from a small community along the Robert Campbell highway to Watson lake all dirt road through the Campbell highway
Hey Maverick, that was an awesome video. The mountains and the scenery are so beautiful you always take us to amazing places whether it’s California on the West Coast or down in Mexico or up in Alaska or in Canada so much fun be safe. ♥️✌️🏔️🙂👍
Mav, another great episode!! I love your adventurous spirit. Thanks for sharing your awesome trip with us!!
Hey mav, thanks for showing us this experience. You have inspired me to go on a road trip several times buddy. Infact, I am on one right now. Trying to film it like you do. I really love your filming and travelling style. Love from Canada❤️
You’re around my home and a lot of my road tripping routes, these episodes are making me excited, I’m glad you’re enjoying it here. My cousin hit a ptarmigan with a snow machine a few years ago and my mom fried it up too lol that part definitely made me laugh. I pulled over and helped my friends cut up a caribou/road kill on the way back from a tournament on the dalton highway back in April too. Definitely a memorable moment. We drove up on boat from 12 hours down the river and stayed the night there at the Yukon bridge back in August, I’ve only been there maybe 3 times. Passed some fish wheels on the way up the river and stopped to see family and friends in some of the villages along the way.
I love all your vlogs, but I do believe that this is my favorite so far! Absolutely beautiful! Way to salvage the bird too! Living your best life! Keep on Truckin’!
So cool Mav! I’ve always wanted to drive up to Alaska. Can’t imagine going all the way to Deadhorse.
But you’re doing it! I’m so glad for you that you have what it takes to do all you do!
And you show it all to us.
Summer camping is fun, but I always enjoyed the adventures of winter camping also! I definitely miss it though. Haven't been winter camping in years.. need to get out one time!
Awesome trip man I'll put this on my bucket list. Thanks for taking us with you..
Yay! Sooo much fun watching you from here in Grand Rapids, Mn. it'll be winter here when you get back, brrrr
you are the perfect mix of calm and energetic this is why i love your videos
Woow Woot! Glad you go to visit Alaska, I've lived off grid up here for 8 years now. There's nothing better
Absolutely love this episode! Alaska is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your travels!
Good way to chill on a Sunday evening watching your vids!
Man your an inspiration for all us! Keep on trucking, im getting my own van this year to do the same 🦅bless you from Spain bro
I traveled it in 1995 had a dog named bear and camped at the artic circle camp ground with many other campers, calling her to come back in the rv, many other campers scampered back into their cars to hide. Still funny to this day.
Lol aw luv this
🤣🤣🤣
I lived in Alaska and absolutely love the Dalton Highway, all the way out to the end, especially the Atigun Pass.. I spent the night at the Artic Circle a couple of times.. I saw a herd of hundreds of caribou out there once.. They ran right down to the road to the little creek that runs beside the road.. I used to go to the Chena Hot Springs alot.. It's an awesome place.. Plenty of boondock camping on the way out there.. I love this series of your trip to Alaska. I drove it from Tennessee a couple of times. Also took the ferry from Whittier to Bellingham Washington once.. It was fantastic!! One of my favorite places in Alaska is Valdez and the drive on the way to Valdez.. There's a great place at a fish hatchery to see stellar sea lions, otters and Grizzly bears.. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center near Girdwood is a great place too.. I love love love Alaska.. Especially during the Autumn and Winter.. One day I hope to move back.. Thanks for taking us along.. Be safe out there on the road..Oh they fish for various trout and Dolly Varden there.. Also the Ptarmigan is the Alaska state bird and their very aggressive, they will chase you.. lol
This trip was other wordly. The Arctic circle. The James Dalton Highway. Soo exciting. Pristine. That bird you consumed was a beautiful bird. I am happy you made good use of it. Just soooo exciting. Keep on truckin'" Mav. Stay safe and be well!🌴🌴🌴🌴👣👣🏖️💙
It's Sunday local time Scotland its 7pm and chill binge with some mav videos 👌👍
I know you upload on Sundays, but I love my Mav Mondays. This whole trip has been some of the best content you've put out. That nice family outside of Edmonton, seeing Steve Wallis, driving the entire absolutely stunning Alaska-Canadian HWY, RV camping and fishing with your parents, and now a gorgeous Arctic expedition featuring a roadkill meal and a cliffhanger ending... this is all high quality entertainment man. Can't wait to see what's next.
Which was the Edmonton vlog
I did that drive to Prudhoe Bay 24 years ago in a 2 door Pontiac Sunbird that the person I was hitching a ride with had bought just two weeks prior. It was quite a trip and the car performed like a champ (it was a Minnesota car). We saw a lynx, caribou, and amazing northern lights. Really enjoyed this episode!
My guy!! I worked at the camp you passed when you went over the Yukon river bridge. And then you went to Coldfoot to get your food, that guy who took your order was Craig. Really nice dude!
Definitely one of my favorite episodes in a while. Keep on truckin'!
The burger and fries look delicious.
An Alaska road trip is on my bucket list. This definitely gives me some ideas. Thanks Mav!
Love your adventurous spirit Mav, thanks for taking us along ,know wasn't easy
Makes my day alot better when Mav post a video. Keep on Trucking Mav!
Really enjoyed this episode, thanks Mav!
What a great video! Thanks so much for sharing your adventure. One of my favorites now! And What Amazing Views! Wow.
Been a follower since you bought the truck and you and Hannah built the original bed/camper setup. Got to say that this is my favorite adventure of them all. Where next in 2023?
You're awesome Mav. I had to drop a comment to help the algorithm. I sit alone in my apt bored every day with real no reason to be. I'm rarely challenging myself, rarely stepping out of my comfort zone besides professionally but internally complaining about life and work anyway to just myself. Something about the freedom and the life that your made for yourself which no doubt is way harder than my every day is just so relaxing to watch. I love the content and your whole attitude and approach to life. I am a whole lot older than you yet can learn so much from you my man, much love.

Yes, personally, I think the best people you should have contacted are fellow UA-camrs "Bushradical" and "Girl in the Woods" ~ totally Alaska aficionados! Check out their channels, Mav, they are as good a contact as Vanwives and Tyler and Todd! 🥰😎 And for your fishing escapades, you should reach out to UA-camr, Rokkit kit, based in Australia. He goes to uninhabited islands to fish, something that you'd enjoy!
Wow🎉Amazing the mountains looked so close and the river..
Thanks for bringing me along with you Mav! I’ll add this to my bucket list!
I’m a project engineer an absolutely dread working every day. I always feel some type of way whenever I watch Mav’s videos. Your definitely enjoying the best life
Quantity Surveyor here, I feel ya
A great episode Mav. From the Alcan hghy to the Dalton. Your indeed a survivor and skilled at the challenges you undertake. I want you to carry on and be safe. Maybe you will get to have lunch with some ice truckers. Cheers Mav!🏔
Please STOP being a fraud. Yup know what your up too. 😡
Loving this Alaskan Highway series!! What a great trip. Keep on truckint!!!
Mav I'm gonna try and travel like you, I am 30 n got another camper truck. Your a true inspiration. God bless🙌
another perfect end to the weekend with a new mav video!
Great content man ❤️💯
Made me smile from ear to ear .when you stopped picked up the bird. Was up at silver island lake by tofte mn doing a little grouse hunting. I found two fresh grouse hit by logging trucks . There is nothing wrong with road meat .we find a few every year. As long as the meat smells good ,chow down.👍🐓🚛
If you check out Girl in the Woods or Bushradical, you can see who lives in those tents on the Yukon River

WoW Mav !! you never disappoint you only Elevate , this journey through Alaska has been a beautiful experience and that road kill dinner a bow to its frontier. Thanks for taking us 🥰✨👍
Nice Mav , enjoyed Alaska immensely. Your folks rocked the first part and now you’re killing it.
