    I made one for my daughter with fleece 25 years ago :). She love it and use the pocket for her feet when she covered herself with the blanket.

    This is without a doubt the nicest way to make a quillow. The way it is fully enclosed gives a more "finished" appearance. Clear, concise, easy to follow video. By overlapping the "flaps" a few inches helps close the gap. No more loosing the quilts storage bag! Thank you so much💝

  • @laurisnicholson1602
    @laurisnicholson1602 4 роки тому +10

    I did it! 🤸🏽‍♀️It turned out great! 🥰 the only adjustment I made was to overlap the opening in the back of the quillow about 4 inches so the blanket doesn't peek through. So glad I picked this tutorial to follow! Thank you Laura!😍

    I like this idea that when it is finished you have the quilting on both sides! Very ingenious. I work in a Cancer Center where the patients are all so cold. Perhaps this is a gift that would make them feel better and keep them warm. I know I am watching my husband fight small cell lung Cancer! Little things mean a lot to the Cancer Patients! Thanks again for sharing!

      Yes I agree. I think we all know someone that has had to fight Cancer and they are always cold. I have make Cancer quilts too but this would be a great way for them to travel with them..Thanks for the idea,and keep up the great work.

    Hi - just thought I'd mention that I added about eight inches or so to the longest length and overlapped them rather than making them just meet. It made a nice closed envelope. First thing I've made since breaking my ankle. I really enjoy your videos (I live in N.Ireland)

Someone gave me a soft blanket that they didn’t like because, while it’s cozy, it’s so soft it’s messy. Now I’ll just adapt and disguise it as a throw pillow until needed. Thank you - again.

    Not just a great idea for gift giving, but a great way to store extra blankets for guests, that double as throw pillows! I'd add snaps, buttons or ties to close it better. Right now I keep those extra blankets in the plastic zippered bags in the closet where they're taking up a good portion of my shelf. 😜

    I like your way of doing this so much better than others I've seen. Thank you for your tutorial. I think that when I make one I might make the ends of the pillowcase overlap by a few inches so it is completely closed rather than gaping open so perhaps the recipient could stash extras inside with the blanket like toys or books and they won't fall out.

    I enjoyed your way of teaching how to make this. So easy and simple to understand and I also like that it is a bit different than the rest out there. I have lots of full size sheets and blankets and the way you show to do it make it pretty easy which is so appreciated. I did add a bit more to the one side of where the two materials meet to it folded in nicely like a pillow sham. But I do have a question for you. I want to make and sell these do I need to get your permission to use your instructions? Thanks. :)

    I LUV YOU!!! Thank-You for Helping Me make my 1st Quillow.... I've been waiting for a SEW EZ Tutorial of making one. It came out GR8! I made the pillow case it a bit longer than yours so I could overlap the pillowcase in the middle/center. I can't wait to see the face of the person I'm giving it to for X-Mas. Thank-U SEW MUCH!! ~Merry X-Mas~ TFS :O)

    Have you thought about making the flap edge wider and putting a zipper in so that the blanket is completely covered by the pillow to keep the blanket cleaner?

      Hmm. I’m thinking of just making the sides overlap a bit. May a few inches to cover.

    What a great project! Two questions: What type of fleece did you use? (It looks so soft and cozy.) Where did you get your bracelets? They are fabulous.

      Mary R It was just regular fleece, I know it looks soft and cozy, I think it was the colour that made it look that way. The bracelet...little shop..not getting more in:( sorry. Thanks for watching

    I love this video . you made it look so easy. I also love the quilt that is hanging on the wall. Is there a pattern for this? and also like the fabric you used. can you tell me what fabric was used?

    Love this video. I am making several for Christmas. One problem I have is one of my blankets when folded is very large (25 x 29). Can it be folded smaller and still work out?

      yes, you can just push it in and will just look like a really full pillow

    Thank you for showing this super idea, I would like to patchwork my front part of the quillow. Some of the squares I have are printed with animals, could you tell me which way they should face so that they won't be upside down or sideways on the finished article?

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  9 років тому

      The good side should face the inside when laying it out. However I would recommend that you pin it then flip it out and test it. I often do this just to make sure. thanks for watching

      Just such a clever easy way to make a quillow! I was wondering how to close the raw edge so it looks nice when you open up the blanket?
