  • If you decide to try to settle your storm damage claim on your own, I will give you 10 tips on how to handle a storm damage claim.
I do not recommend trying to settle storm damage with the insurance company if you have more than $10,000.00 in damage for a number of reasons.
Storm damage in Florida is widespread and it includes:
    -Hurricanes
    -Thunderstorms
    -Heavy rains
    -Lightning
    -Tornadoes
    -Tropical Storms
Here are a few tips I talk about in this video on Storm Damage Claims:
    1. ESTIMATE
    a. Look over insurance company’s estimate
    b. Use your contractor’s estimate
    c. Include items like Moving Contents, Hazardous waste
    2. Personal Property
    a. Replacement cost vs. Actual Cash Value
    3. Roof Involvement
    a. Square Footage correct?
    b. Florida 25% rule
    c. Roofing contractor estimates
If you have any type of storm damage give me a call if you need help....

Getting screwed by twia right now. The field adjuster said new roof. What he submitted to twia says only to replace 10 shingles. Fighting it right now.

You're a very informant civilian dealer with the project now. That's how it's been flooded by the sum pump shooting in the breaker. Overloaded the sum pump cut off I found the claim today

Wao! What a great informative video. 👏 thanks for sharing. Question: I have submitted a homeowners insurance claim now in the process iof been approved. My electrical glass top stove broke could I added to the claim? Although my initial claim was wind storm damage for roof replacement.

Thank you for the comments. Yes you can claim the stove as long as you have a story how it broke as it relates to the claim.

We had a lightning strike on our property. It was right near our front gated entrance. After the strike the gates don’t work. The insurance company sent out some guy from Strike Check. He said “well, there is power to it”. Does that mean he’s going to tell my insurance company that it was not lightning damage??what to do if my claim denied for that?

What if there was some damage before the hurricane but was made worse or exacerbated by the hurricane? I just went through Hurricane Beryl just one week ago and I live in the Houston Texas area. I already had some deterioration of the siding and exterior trim but was made worse by the hurricane. In fact, one whole section of siding was ripped off by the powerful winds of Hurricane Beryl. I'm a little afraid that the insurance company is going to try to tell me that because my siding was in poor condition before the storm, they will not cover the cost of replacing it and they will not cover any water damage caused by the storm. I'm afraid of them telling me that because I was "irresponsible" by not replacing the siding sooner, that they will not cover the storm damage.

@@vigorousboredom7016 there is a possibility of that if they know there was damage to your home before the Hurricane. Understand it would be difficult to show what was damaged prior to Hurricane and the damage caused by the Hurricane to justify any payment

@@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters I am also afraid that an adjuster from the insurance company would also take advantage of the storm damage inspection to make a list of all the things wrong with my home and report it to the insurance company. Then, the insurance company would give me an ultimatum to either repair everything on the list at my own cost or be dropped from my insurance policy. Have you ever seen this happen?

Had a claim for a roof about 6 months ago. Insurance only wanted to repair 3 sides of roof. Couldn't get them to repair the other 4 smaller sides. Insurance sent a small check. Now I've had damage from storm which I had to remove tree debris, cut branches, remove tree from AC unit, and there was damage to roof from raccoon. Should I file another claim or a supplemental clam.

What about siding? Vinyl. Storm. ?

Is it damaged? If so, from a storm which can be proven, then you would have a right to claim it

PA's, turning a 12k roof into a 99k roof for their own profit. Making insurance rates go up one claim at a time!

Actually it's guys like you denying every roof claim that makes rates go up because we have to sue your evil employer the insurance company

@@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters You act like it's the adjuster's fault for doing his job and following his companies guidelines. Every claim that has a PA involved ends up being a complete waste of time because of the fluff you people add in the supplements and then you claim you are doing it for the good of the insured. Give me a break.

@@Brewskii11 thank you for being honest. Yes we know how dirty insurance companies are and their criminal type policies that adjusters like you follow because you have no morals or values. This is what people need to see. Thank you for confirming this.

@@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters So you admit to fluffing estimates to make up for your cost so the policy holder can still afford to pay for the roof? Keep telling yourself you are doing the right thing.
