How to Read The Insurance Estimate For a Roof Claim & How it Can Help You Sell Even More!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 чер 2024
- In this video I show you how to read an "Insurance Scope of Loss" (also referred to as the insurance estimate) for a roof claim. I showcase 3 different scopes from State Farm, Farmers, and Nationwide to show you how they compare. You'll also learn how to use this "scope review" with the customer as an even more powerful sales tool. BONUS: I also show you how to overcome some of the most common objections like: "Give me an estimate," "can you cover my deductible" and "give me your lowest price."

Man you explain vids so fast and easy! No long dialogues, just staright to business👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Adam THANKS for this incredible free work!!
Also I think the line you usually go for towards the end is, "Just because this video is over doesn't mean our time together has to be." I heard you say that once and it landed well; ever since then you say some variation that makes me lol.
Again thanks for all you do!
You got it my dude :) Thank YOU for being here and for taking the time to comment! Have an awesome weekend!
You really need to be a trainer for ins companies for new adjusters. I am a lifelong auto appraiser but failed after 4 months in property. I even used to work for one of the companies in the video. I think I am going to start using assessment instead of estimate I don’t and will never do property claims again but i use your videos to find new presentation methods
As usual, another awesome and helpful video, Adam. Thank you
Glad you liked it! My pleasure :)
This video was fantastic. Thank you for providing this resource.
You are very welcome! Thank you for the comment!
This was very knowledgeable!!
Great content yet again Adam! Wished you were at the RoofingProcess confrence in Orlando the other week. Would love to meet you! Maybe 2021 😉
Thanks for the kind words my dude :) Appreciate it. Hoping some in-person stuff is possible in the near future!
Great content!!
I got my first roof insurance job today.. I have no idea what I’m doing 😭 owner handed me this paper work.
Thank you bro honestly you helped so much
It's an honor to serve my dude! Glad to have you here!
Thank you for sharing
Happy to help :) Thanks for being here and commenting!
So good content thanks
You're welcome :) Glad to have you here!
Hey man! Solid gold! I don’t see a link to the other video showing how to convince the home owner why you need the scope...
Hey Weston, thanks for the feedback and comment my dude. Super appreciate you bringing that to my attention. We are fixing it right now :) In the meantime... Watch the video here: ua-cam.com/video/V5MHqSpLv6w/v-deo.html
Thank you very inspiring videos, I'm starting my canvasing career as a plastering contractor. Can you please make a video regarding canvasing must to have with you. Seems like a general question but will help allot out.
Thank you
Hey Miguel! Great to have you here and welcome to the industry. Must have when out canvassing? Your canvassing credentials (like your "solicitor's permit" IF required) and something to write with (a clipboard or your phone). If there's anything specific to what you're selling that you need to have with you, that's a different story. But for most, it's just the basics to get appointments scheduled. Hope this helps!
I do need help supplementing, at the end of the video you said you could pass along some contact info for help training my team? That would be great!
Nice!
💪 Appreciate ya, Joe!
Hello Adam..getting a new roof and had a question about the building code upgrade charge. he check I received from my insurance was an amount minus my deductible and this upgrade fee. When looking at the roofer's invoice, I noticed I am being charged my deductible, which I understand, but also the upgrade fee. I understand that once the roofer submits the completion of work to the insurance company and they will mail the roofer that amount for the fee. My question is, do I get credit for it in my estimate since they will be paid by the insurance company at the end of the job? It would seem like the roofer would be getting paid that fee twice if I am being charged for it as well. Thanks!
If over limits company may absorb deductible but only if building was underinsured
Hi Adam thanks for the valuable content could you recommend me a supplementing agency? I’m from Dallas thanks
Hey! I sure can :) Talk to the guys at: www.eliteclaimsolutions.com/ I've had Mike Braun (the CEO) on my channel a few times. He's a former client and ACE when it comes to supplementing and operations!
We had a fire in our garage! The garage is totaled and one car part of our laundry room.
There was a lot items in the garage and we didn’t claim everything, things that totaled up to 17k, have you heard of a fulfillment specialist? They want us to go through this person?
Also our contract and what the insurance assessment off by about 5k!
Can you help?
Thank you for sharing this valuable info. How can I start a roofing company?
Thats a GREAT question. First, get setup legally. Then get your insurance in order. Establish a relationship with a supplier. Get all of your paperwork and processes in order. Line up sub contractors. Start selling jobs. Get ready to learn quickly and manage your cash flow :) obviously a very in depth question that warrants a lot more info, but this should highlight the key points to get you headed in the right direction. Quick note: Not everyone is cut out to own a company. There's a LOT to it. Do your homework before leaping in.
@@TheRoofStrategist thank you.. Im already a installer. I would like to get jobs directly with the customer or insurance companies.
@@TheRoofStrategist as of insurance I need worker comp, and general libility? Im from Houston Tx. so I dont need a roofers license. Also were can I get written contracts to use?
@@IvanHVAC Great questions. I would speak directly with a commercial agent licensed in TX to advise you on both your legal requirements and recommended levels of coverage. In terms of getting written contracts: No matter what you get, you'll need to make sure they are compliant with the laws in the state(s) you operate. Every state is handled a bit differently and the laws can change year to year. I include a sample Contingency Agreement in all of my programs and many people use that as the "template" to present to their attorney so they can add in the "fine print."
What happens if you don’t supplement materials/are not aware that there’s things missing in the scope of loss?
My recommendation - get training and/or support from your company to be SURE of this before you do anything :) Not EVERY roof will need supplementing, but for a lot of carriers -- most do.
Erie and Liberty Mutual use Symbility
I have some questions just now getting in roofing sales after being in car sales for two years? Could I email or call you?
Hey Dylan! Great to hear from you and I'd be happy to help. I reply to dang-near every single comment on videos. I encourage you to post questions there and I'll answer them (and others can benefit as well). @@TheRoofStrategist sent you an email over. I have some questions that I probably shouldn't put on here about the company I maybe going to work for. Thanks
Does insurance pay to remove and reinstall solar panels?
You bet they do :) (or at least, should). If it's not on the scope, you should supplement for it.
@@TheRoofStrategist thanks alot!
@@gonzalogonzalez7335 Happy to help!
I highly recommend slowing down and going over the scope line by line with your customer.
Love this advice, Joe. I've found that as a general rule of thumb this is a great move. I do recommend "reading the crowd" and knowing when to breeze over the nitty gritty for the customers who don't want/need the play-by-play after we review the "high level" details.
Why do so many UA-camrs point up and say there's a link to that right up here, and then they never know how to put the link up there, lol
Replacement COST not cash. Otherwise great video.
Thank you for correcting my slip of the tongue. I appreciate ya!
My insurance took out the deductible.
They may absorb deductible if any of the buildings were over limit
Should never be anything as a deductible period majority of people either can’t afford to pay a higher rate and don’t have few thousand sitting around
Would be nice but it’s not reality
Definition Correction: RCV = Replacement Cost Value not Replacement Cash Value.
Roofers have no business with Insurance Claim Summary. If you're a General Contractor yes.
Dude can I work for you? Omg. Add me somehow
I'm flattered :) Thanks man. I am a trainer, coach, and teacher 100% of the time now. However, I am connected with some OUTSTANDING companies and great people. If you are looking for a career in roofing sales, don't be shy to reach out. If I know of anyone in your area I can make an introduction: adam@roofstrategist.com
roofer and insurance only want to screw over the home owner.
What makes you say that?
@@backupaccount4445 i have timberline HD shingles the comparable would be the timberline hdz. which is the direct competition to the trudefenition. but my roofer insist on oaktidge. the insurance says to submitt the duration shinglesabd then go from there. roofer is refusing. I would like to upgrade but the roofer wants 2 thousand dollars even though I can show the difference in price is less then 500. I'm stuck in a contingency contract
@@jeffhruska8626what did you do? Did you come out of the contingency?
@@timmark4190 I finally got the roofer to submit in the supplement the trudefinition shingles even though they swore up and down it was an upgrade and would be rejected. Four days later they text me Congratulations we did it we got the trudefiniton approved.(they did my butt). still wanted a crazy amount for the upgrade to impact resistant shingles. Had to much other stuff going on in my life at the time so told them just put on the trudefinition.
Yes show the contractor what the insurance is willing to pay so the contractor can write up an estimate to the very last penny of your insurance payout. Nice fkn SCAM.
Assessment? Lol oh boy. It’s an estimate.
