- As #CycloneBiparjoy hit Gujarat this week, we were hit by some crazy reporting from Republic Bharat’s anchor Sweta Tripathi. She stumbled around the studio with an umbrella, visuals of a cyclone in Florida playing behind her - all while reporting on Gujarat.
This isn’t Sweta’s first tryst with over-the-top reporting. We take a look at her exploits during the #SushantSinghRajput case. Meghnad makes a special appearance to show us how Republic Bharat anchors might report on different natural calamities.
Meanwhile, some very disturbing news emerged from Uttarakhand. Muslim families had to leave the town of Purola in #Uttarkashi district after accusations of ‘love jihad’ were levelled against them. Sudhir Chaudhary as usual was front and centre with dogwhistles, suggesting to his viewers how growing Muslim population is a threat. Suresh Chavhanke went the same way on Sudarshan News. Instead of showing the truth on the ground, news channels didn’t miss a chance to peddle ‘love jihad’ conspiracy theories.

This reminds me of the conversation I had with my uncle and he simply called my opinion 'pro-Muslim' which is because of our old education system which taught 'secularism' and 'liberalism' and how India taking up the status of a Secular country was the biggest mistake of Nehru. It just shook me. Other day, my dad said he wished Gandhi was _____ a couple of years ago so that today we would be having an 'Akand Bharat'. What's happening in Uttarakhand and Manipur doesn't have any difference, the only common thing is the hatred towards a particular group or religion.

I think we should raise our voice for the innocent people suffering from that kind of torture. Just imagine if the situation was reversed, if Muslims made Hindu people to live their shops, then what might have happened. Just think about it, we might be in Amrit kal, but it only caused raise of communal violence and hatred all over the country. If this kind unhuman politics keeps going on, then it will split India again on basis of language, casts and religions.
In conclusion we need to stop this and make people aware of this situation what is going on.
