- If you have been following along our longer videos, you’ll know that we have been getting quite a few packages in the mail addressed for Jared, Howard, and our print shop exhibit.
Social media has connected us with people from all over the world and we sometimes get wonderful gifts from followers. We received a package in the mail addressed from Donna in Villa Hills, Kentucky.
In this video, Howard opened the package consisting of a number of engraving plates and small letterpress cuts. At the end of this video, Howard letterpress printed one of the electrotypes using our Washington hand press. This print is of the logo for the Sherwin-Williams paint company. While we don’t have an intaglio press for printing the engraving plates, they are a great tool to discuss different types of printing. We are incredibly thankful for this gift and it is a wonderful addition to our print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum.

Very cool! And I miss the neon signs of the 80s/90s. This LED stuff just doesn't do it for me. There were so many cool works of art back then done in neon that you knew cost a pretty penny to make and buy.

Even though the plate is for an Intaglio press you can still build a little makeshift frame and roll it by hand and set the plate in the Weaver Press and use that... or just do the whole thing by hand. np. At least we would see a nice reversal! 💁🙏👍

In Kentucky they fried chicken.
As a child in the early 1960's, my brother and I would paint the wooden doors on the garage. We to would by our white exterior oil base paint from Sherwin Williams, owned by Finamin and Hailey. Good times.
