    I had both EPOS H3Pro Hybrid and H6Pro Open back headsets.
    The H3Pro Hybrid stopped powering on after using it for about 5 months. I bought it in April and it stopped powering on in September. The audio and mic are phenomenal. Battery life is all day. Comfort is perfect and I have a large head with dumbo ears and I wear glasses. Never had issues comfort wise.
    The H3Pro Hybrid would randomly disconnect and reconnect. If I let it charge over night then it would not power on in the morning and I would have to let it sit, unused, for about hours before it would finally power on. Submitted a support ticket with EPOS and they were able to reproduce the issue. I submitted a request for RMA so we shall see on that end.
    The H6Pro: Again phenomenal sound and mic but even more so than the H3Pro Hybrid. I play BF2042, Counterstrike and WoW. In BF2042 I could pin point where everyone around me was. The bass, mids, and highs are all properly separated. Bass is there but not over done. Comfort is top notch. My only issue is the open back style of sound is not my thing. The mids and highs are there but they lack body or presence and sound "airy" if that makes sense. I'm used to closed back headphones/headsets. I used them for a week and returned them. Just not my style of audio is all. I'd still give them 5/5 stars.
    I will be ordering the closed back version this weekend so hopefully that suits me better.

      @@fridge199 I've been using them for about 3 weeks now and I love them. Very comfy even wearing glasses. The clamping force is enough to keep the headset in place but doesn't squeeze my head. My ears don't touch anything on the inside. The audio quality is amazing for everything. I play BF2042, Counterstrike, MW2 and WoW and they sound terrific for anything. Music and movies sound great. The mic quality is clear and loud. My only complaint is when the cable rubs on your shirt you can hear it on the left earcup. Other than that, I think it's the perfect wired headset.
      There is a noticeable difference in how the closed back ones sound versus open back. I VERY much prefer the closed back style. Mids and highs sound perfect and the bass is just...perfect imo. I'm no audiophile but the audio quality is superb. I've watched movies, shows, and listened to music and I'm impressed with this headset.

    Hey @goukigod
    I've noticed higher-end gaming sets such as this one will often say they offer "studio grade" quality sound. Of course I usually take that with a grain of salt, but I also notice these companies don't just throw that terminology around carelessly so maybe there is some truth to that?
    I'm curious in your most honest opinion whether or not you think this set comes close to delivering that kind of sound.
    Thanks for reading and thanks for the excellent review, liked and subbed

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 роки тому +1

      It's mostly just marketing. People in studios would most likely be using monitor headphones and monitor headphones are good for monitoring audio and not much else. In other words, you wouldn't want a monitoring style headset because the sound they produce would be very flat and clinical. Monitor headphones have a wide frequency response range and most mid to high end headset have this too, so maybe that's why they use the studio label.
      So to answer your question, 'Studio grade' is really just a term used to imply it's high quality and I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

      @@goukigodbeing a professional studio engineer for 25 years I agree about the "studio quality" bit in marketing audio products. It's not the same as products that are actually for studio monitoring. As you said correctly actual studio products are attempting to be flat in frequency response and give a huge amount of detail. End listeners often don't enjoy hearing all this while listening to music and what's usually marketed to them is far from flat eq responses with hyped highs and lows. In gaming headsets we don't want all those distracting lows, but still most probably have hyped highs and the same scooped mids ppl are used to on consumer stuff or at least what their eq presets are often doing.
      I do my gaming on actual studio monitor headphones. Not even my Sennheiser 280HDs (a huge studio standard) but $30 AKG k52s I've had for 20 years. They sound every bit as good as I need them to for gaming FPS. I like the detail, I like the lack of hyping a freq range. They only just don't have a mic. That's why I'm here. Also I looked at the mic mod mini doo dad but not for me. I just wanna grab one piece and not think of a little sticker stopping working and ruin my time.
      I'm curious how these compare to the Drop Epos 38x. Those actually seem to be modded hd280hd. Btw I never use those to game, I prefer open back. Technically the k52s are classified as closed back, however they're anything but that with air moving freely throughout.

    I've never used a high performance gaming headset before, the epos h6 pro has closed, it's my first.
    The first thing I did when I got it was play games like Fortnite and Valorant and I found it very strange, I don't know why, but the sound is so strange and I can't notice many sounds that other headsets in a much lower price range show.
    for music it's crazy, the quality in general is very good, but for games it's strange and feels "discomfortable" compared to other cheaper headsets.

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 роки тому

      So, as I mentioned in the video, I recorded the mic via the PS5 controller which most likely adds compression. If you were to plug it into a PC or Amp it does sound better but at the time this was the only way I could record audio from it. I think a lot of people will end up using this way so I figured it was a good representation even if it doesn’t sound as good as it can.

      .

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 роки тому +2

      Headsets are really just a convenient way of rolling a bunch of useful features together into a single solution. If you have no need for a mic and you don't need wireless then I don't think you need a headset. If sound quality is your ultimate goal/only requirement then headphones like the HD 560s will give you better bang for buck. The HD 560s, for example, sound better than the PC38X for about the same money. For the average gamer though I don't think they could tell the difference between the H6Pro, PC83X and HD 560s, so the H6Pro would be my pick simply because it's the cheapest.
      If you want superior sound, that is obvious to most people, you're looking at spending about double what the HD 560s cost. You'll probably want to invest in a decent DAC/AMP too, so going down the headphone path becomes a slippery slope, which is why headsets are such an attractive option.

    • @Spartan00113
      @Spartan00113 2 роки тому

      @@goukigod If I buy the HD560S, will I need a DAC to get the audio quality normally seen in graphs? The closest thing to a DAC that I have is my motherboard's onboard audio (ALC1200).

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  2 роки тому +1

      I’m not an expert with measurements but I don’t believe you need an external DAC. Your PC’s sound card should be fine. If you were to use the 560s on a PlayStation though, a DAC would provide better sound than plugging them into the controller.

      i had to go onto their website and at the very bottom of the page they mention this in parenthasis.
      i might be returning these and they haven't even shown up on my doorstep yet.
      headset+AMP makes these WAYYYY too expensive. i want 7.1 out of the box like with my current headset (Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2)

      Unless a headset says it has 7.1 or surround sound without companion software it's safe to assume it's only stereo. Most headsets are stereo.

      @@goukigod i appreciate the reply. i was a little upset about it so i did some research and it seems stereo with virtual surround can be more accurate than a true 7.1 headset.
      really just depends on the headset and equalizers which have free software online for that.

      Yeah it really depends but cramming loads of drivers into a headset doesn't always have the best results. Sony's 3D audio and Dobly atmos are really incredible software solutions. If you're on PC you have quite a lot of software choice including some free options. On console headsets with 7.1 built in are generally the more expensive options. eg Astro A50 and Arctis nova pro

      @@goukigod yeah I'm on pc. I'll keep Dolby Atmos in mind, I've heard excellent things about it. thank you for the advice. and i'd love Arctis nova pros, SteelSeries ear cups are awesome. but I have the H6PROs on the way should be here tomorrow :)

    • @goukigod

      You don't turn it on. It doesn't have power. You just plug it in.

      @@goukigod The headsets already work, apparently it was a problem with the sound drivers. Thanks for answering my question. Greetings!

    waaaaaay to expensive junk.. when the ear thingy became lose you wont be able to easily get it back on place so you wont hear sounds form outside.. .. for an expensive piece of junk like this it should be good and easy replaceable but it is far from that.. only good thing is their sound but when it becomes to the ear thingys and you can tget them back in place it i slike you have an open headset so you can hear all the noises from outside.. so it is worthless

      This is the whole point of open back headset buddy. But you keep playing with your $20 turtle beach junk.
