@@boogie4195 PC38X no question. I'll copy paste a longer comment I posted elsewhere: I had a set of Astros that broke and was in the market for another set of gaming headphones. I picked up the Drop+EPOS PC38X and then got a pair of these to compare to them. the H6Pro doesn't hold a candle to the PC38X in terms of detail and accuracy. Seems like the soundstage is much less wide, while it has more bass it is often muddier depending on what you're listening to. If you listen to music at all it's a complete no brainer toward the PC38X. I will say though that the H6Pro really has a quite premium feel to it from a build standpoint vs the more studio/professional grade feel of the Drop set. So credit where it's due. The H6Pro also might be the most comfortable headset I've ever tried on. Those huge, deep, ear shaped cups are just so great. But it seems I'm a velour or nothing guy because even the cloth on the H6Pro heated up for me too much after a while. The clamping force is much less than the PC38X as well. I feel like my ears just barely fit within the cups on the PC38X (and I don't even have large ears). I honestly wish I could just have H6Pro headphones (but with velour cups) that sound like the PC38X do because it might be the best of both worlds. If you are buying headphones that will be for gaming, watching movies, listening to music, etc. as an all-in-one for your device, I'd say it's not even close and the PC38X blows the H6Pro away. But audio is also a very subjective thing which is why people audition loudspeakers. All of our ears and brains are different. Bottom line is that save for very specific audio that you want to be very bass focused, there are better options out there for your money. I like the velour as mesh and fake leather get way too hot on my ears. The cups on the H6 are nicer though like I mentioned. The PC38X has a bit more clamping force I think, but I've been told that you can get that to mellow out by putting it on a headphone stand or yoga block or something for a while. My guess is EPOS made these because they got tired of the average consumer buying badly tuned gaming headset from other brands so they decided to make their own and while better than the X3 for competitive gaming, they're still bad for that, the pc38x is better in almost every way as they are actually sort of tuned similarly to the hd560s while these aren't.

Are these the upgrade of the Sennheiser gsp 550? If so, the cable of the H6pro does works with the gsp550? I need a new cable asap because mine just stopped working...
Great sound. Couple of issues for me tho. I have the H6pro. Plug them in and PC didn’t recognize them. I downloaded gaming suite and EPOS connect and nothing. Meanwhile, the headphones work and sound great. Just not easy plug and play. Also, the mic drops down and you hear the click that it’s on but can’t hear your voice in the earphones. Weird
That's one thing I'm considering, love the sound detail of my gsp500's but after a few hours use the headband does get uncomfortable. If the h6 are the same drivers I will definitely consider the change purely for the comfort factor. BUT, I have noted the sound range for the h6's is less than gsp's. I don't know how this would affect audio quality. It could be a downgrade, I just don't know. If anyone else has any experience with both headsets then please do share.
I had the GSP670 and they were terrible. Too bulky, too top heavy and super uncomfortable for me. They actually broke less than a year of ownership and I returned them for something else (two year warranty). They sounded fine and mic was good but heaps of interference and cut outs. Haven’t tried these h6 pro’s but I reckon they’d be good
I went a very different route, bit the bullet and bought a pair of Beyerdynamic tygr's and fitted a modmic. Best headset I've ever owned or heard hands down.
Great point. The cable is shorter than most. Not a problem for my current setup but when I upgrade my home office,I'll have to get an extension as well
A lot of manufacturers are moving away from the super wide frequency resonse measurement as it doesn't really shows anything about sound quality as long as the frequency is a better range than human hearing. Human hearing is typically 20 - 20.000 Hz. (Most adults cant hear higher than 17kHz), so the question is.. Sound quality should instead be measured in how well it plays in the frequency range. Its "great" to see a lot of manufacturers making headsets that go up to 40.000 Hz... I am sure bats and dolphins will be super happy about their hearing being supported. :D
I plan to buy an audio interface to make a streaming setup and I also want to buy a new pair of headphones. My question is do you think those will do better than a pair of studio headphones like DT990 Pro or HD560S considering that in all case the headphone will be plugged in into the audio interface? My goal is to hear footsteps better on a game like Warzone. Thank you very much!
No. The HD6 Pros are not voiced for monitoring, mixing, or music. They barely cut it for gaming due to the cartoonish bass handling and lack of upper mid and high frequency detail. Dt990Pro's are good but they are overkill and require a very expensive amp to do their best work.
Are these better than anything from Steel Series, Logitech and HyperX? Like the Arctis Nova Pro/Arctis Nova 7P, the Logitech G Pro X wireless, the HyperX Cloud 2 wireles. Any non biased people in the comments that can give me a straight answer I’d really appreciate it. I’ve tried the arctis nova’s and the hyper x(wired) I’m playing on PS5 and this 200+ dollar headset from steel series is letting me down in competitive games. Granted it could be the game but I’m not so sure.
most people say they’re one of the best if not the best for PlayStation and I just did not find that to be the case. I had the Arctis Nova 7P, and I struggled terribly in Warzone, but when I plugged in my old ass wired HyperX clouds I instantly had better awareness, and I played better. I found myself using this cheap wired headset over the $180 wireless Nova’s. That’s my experience, yours might be different, I wanted to like them they just didn’t perform for me. They look cool, they’re comfortable, the wireless works great, they probably have better media performance like with music and movies, but in game they were not good to me, my old PS4 cheap headset was better, I consistently played better with them.
If I get a hyperx quadcast s along with speakers, will it catch the speakers audio? I'm seeing some people with speakers not catching the speaker audio

To me it seems like the money went into design here with the sound lacking whereas that PC38X the money went into the sound and the design is very utilitarian as a result. So pick your priority.
@@TheBucketOfTruth Thank you for your input, my main concern about the PC38X is one, the availability (Can't get it in stores in my country) and the comfortability. But I heard nothing but good from the H6PRO open-back.
@@boogie4195 Can you get it from Amazon? The black one is $139 right now from them or Drop. The Yellow one is $119 on Drop's site, though it's a bit uglier. I will say the H6Pro is gorgeous but like I said, the sound is much more important for me than the look. The PC38X may be less comfortable depending on your needs. I like the velour as mesh and fake leather get way too hot on my ears. The cups on the H6 are nicer though like I mentioned. The PC38X has a bit more clamping force I think, but I've been told that you can get that to mellow out by putting it on a headphone stand or yoga block or something for a while. It isn't enough to bother me over multiple hour gaming sessions.
@@TheBucketOfTruth I don't know. Is drop based in US, with US pricing? Cause my budget is 200 AUD, there's not much of a discount for the PC38X cause I have to pay tax. I can get the EPOS H6PRO for 179 AUD or 120 US.
I bought the closed back version of these and it feels like my ears are in a vaccuum, which I'm not accustomed to and makes me feel sweaty! These are also very clampy headphones, with this slightly painful pressure on the top of the head that I'm super aware of throughout the day. I might exchange these for the open back version, or go with something that looks more comfortable like the SHP9500.

I am still thinking about which one to get for my Xbox Series X. I am still between the open or closed version. How is the sound volume for you on the open back? Is it loud enough? Which games did you play with it and how was your impression?

Would you say its better than the razer blackshark v2?
how about the Hybrid H3s? any chance of a comparison?
Do you have to get the external sound card or will it work well just plugging it straight into the PC?
Hey! I ordered the H6pro closed back yesterday. Is it necessary to buy an amp aswell if you want even better sound? I was thinking about getting the GSX 300 to go with them but I’m honestly not sure, what are your thoughts?
Hi, I can't really say for certain but if you have a really good motherboard that has a good audio chip you shouldn't need to worry. I have a Asus B550 motherboard and have no issues with needing a Amp or Dac. Maybe if you're not happy with the sound or want a little bit more then maybe try one. Don't get one for the sake of it.
@@sullenova Thanks a lot for the reply, and the solid advice, it’s arriving tomorrow so I’ll see what I think of it. Have you found a workaround? I've heard others say there are 3rd party cable replacements available but I haven't found any

I find that the cables don't last long. Maybe a couple months then the crackling starts. The rubberized ones are better than the braided.
Just got these for Series X. I used them with a Steel Series dac. Returned them. Made my outer ears sore and didn’t sound as good as a pair of Logitech headphones I use. I really wanted to like them but just didn’t work for me.
Wait so which one is good mic quality wise? (Cuz I have a fan in the background) the open or closed version?
is the audio from opened version headphones noticeable when you listening music or playing games? Open back vs closed back? I should use it in office.
Open back do spill sound out so if you're in a quiet office the closed back would be preferable.
How do you set to hear clearly for footstep with the sound card on warzone? I can’t hear well for close range but good on long range

Do these high-end wireless headsets have batteries that needs to reload?
Please help me out here, I'm trying to find out if I need to buy their DAC or if I can purchase the one I really want. I will want to upgrade to a greater quality headset eventually, but my friend gave me these and I simply spotted him for shipping. Will any good DAC give me the quality, or do I need theirs?
How does this compare to the MMX 300?
love the olive/gold color 😍
My guess is EPOS made these because they got tired of the average consumer buying badly tuned gaming headset from other brands so they decided to make their own and while better than the X3 for competitive gaming, they're still bad for that, the pc38x is better in almost every way as they are actually sort of tuned similarly to the hd560s while these aren't.
Idk much ab any of this, but I've seen a lot of people say the epos and the pc38x are about the same headset, something about they use the same driver or something.
Love the review. My question is, budget aside do you prefer this or the corsair HS80 in terms of everything you know and have covered on your reviews?
I too would love to know this!

I’ll be buying the closed H6 pro and trying them out
How do these compare to the PC38X's?? Trying to decide between these and those.
How does the closed back version compare to the game one? I'm trying to decide which one to get
The Game One is an open back headset and this is a closed back headset. A better comparison would be the Game Zero, which is the same as Game One, but closed back.
Is this using the sound card from Epos?
No noise reduction test with the mic?
Are these the upgrade of the Sennheiser gsp 550? If so, the cable of the H6pro does works with the gsp550?
I need a new cable asap because mine just stopped working...
Great sound. Couple of issues for me tho. I have the H6pro. Plug them in and PC didn’t recognize them. I downloaded gaming suite and EPOS connect and nothing. Meanwhile, the headphones work and sound great. Just not easy plug and play. Also, the mic drops down and you hear the click that it’s on but can’t hear your voice in the earphones. Weird

In confort, what is the most confortable?
Close or Open? Thank You

Super review.
Would it pay to upgrade to theese over the GSP 500/600's?
That's one thing I'm considering, love the sound detail of my gsp500's but after a few hours use the headband does get uncomfortable.
If the h6 are the same drivers I will definitely consider the change purely for the comfort factor.
BUT, I have noted the sound range for the h6's is less than gsp's. I don't know how this would affect audio quality.
It could be a downgrade, I just don't know. If anyone else has any experience with both headsets then please do share.
Get the PC38X. Same drivers as the GSP500 but far more comfortable
I lost all faith in this review when he said the Corsair HS80 is really good as well... it has reviewed poorly everywhere else but here.
Just returned em yesterday, things sucked
Does it feel like it needs the gsx300 to work?
How is the mic noise cancelling ? Like when I’m typing on a keyboard for example
why does my epos h6pro sound so muddy compared to my senheisser pc38x?

How does this compare to the Sennheiser PC38x wired headset? It's really popular.
heyyy... I just bought this H6pro closed.... really awesome..... only downside... its cable a little too short.. just ordered extension cable for it
Great point. The cable is shorter than most. Not a problem for my current setup but when I upgrade my home office,I'll have to get an extension as well
You gained a Sub, love the content man, keep it up!! Made my decision thanks to you!
No info on the driver size on the tech sheet, and also looks like it has a narrower frequency response compared to the GSP600.
Driver size is 42mm
This one or Astro A40?
how long is the cable?
Even though this channel doesn't get much likes, it is amazing!

These or the H3s ? And what mix amp you pairing with it
I'm on the razor Blackhawk v2 pros just want to pair with mix amp but can't with the wireless version
no wireless version?
how long are the 3.1 jacks?
So can you connect to xbox and PC?
Are these better than anything from Steel Series, Logitech and HyperX? Like the Arctis Nova Pro/Arctis Nova 7P, the Logitech G Pro X wireless, the HyperX Cloud 2 wireles. Any non biased people in the comments that can give me a straight answer I’d really appreciate it. I’ve tried the arctis nova’s and the hyper x(wired) I’m playing on PS5 and this 200+ dollar headset from steel series is letting me down in competitive games. Granted it could be the game but I’m not so sure.
So Arctis is not good at competitive FPS?
most people say they’re one of the best if not the best for PlayStation and I just did not find that to be the case.

I'm looking for a comfy headset+mic for long conference calls on Zoom and Teams. Not gaming. Your typical conference headsets are terrible on comfort so I started checking out gaming products instead. Seems logic. By looking at the review the closed version of the H6 Pro seems like the better pick due to the comfort advantage over the open version. I need to be able to have them on for multiple 2-hour sessions during a work day. Probably around 6 hours a day. But when I started to discover the downsides with the lesser audio quality on the closed version I fell back into frustration cause the open version doesn't come with the same comfy ear pads as the closed one does. Should I be looking at other products all together for my purpose? Can't stand bad ear pads. EPOS don't ship separate pads to my country either so feels like a dead end.
I think that either one will do well for conference calls - the closed back sound very, very good as well
