The pads are interchangeable. That was a very popular "mod" for the GSP500's, was to get the GSP600's pads and use them on the 500's. It also amps the lower frequencies up a bit (which you can tune out in EQ if you don't like that).

    • @BigBear--

And yes, replacement pads are sold separately. So you can get the open backs, and just buy the closed back style pads separately and change them out.

Great review dude. I own the closed model and to my ears they sound great. I haven't used the open model so I can't compare them, though I do own open back sennheisers. I find the bass to be tight and thumpy and hear enough clarity in the high end and don't find it harsh. Different ears and different folks I guess.
    Great video though 👌

    Hi Ryan how are you?
First of all, thank you very much. You helped me to decide to get the open back ones but I have a question: I plan to use these on my pc and its back is really far.
Which extension cable is good for this headset as its cable is split into 2 (Mic & Sound) Also, do you recommend buying an amp or an external sound card with these? I do not quite understand the subject...
    thanks in advance :)

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  2 роки тому +1

You might not need an extension cable, it comes with two cables. The short cable is the mic and headphone output combined. The longer cable is split into the 2 mic and headphone and its pretty long cable.
It doesn't require an amp or external soundcard, you can just plug it into your pc

I'm looking at getting either the GSP 600 or the H6pro and wanted to know if the drivers are exactly the same in every way . What I mean is also how they were tuned. The reason I ask Is I was reading the audio graphs for the GSP 600 and I really like it however the H6pro seems way more comfortable. I use my headsets for the competitive CSGO scene as I play in leagues and my entire play style is based off of tons of micro information and so I really need that pinpoint accuracy all the time. And so I ask if ALL the audio graphs from the GSP 600 apply to the H6pro because I can't find any audio graph readings anywhere for the H6pro. Your help would be much appreciated.

For you to hear the footsteps and guns reloading in battle you have to have to a headset that is closed back. You can Eq them to make some sounds pop out more than others, but I feel as if I picked up the open back that I would hear to much background noise, so for the closed back keeping all the sound in makes you hear more sound in a way, louder sound, this isn’t a bad thing when you need to hear everything

I'm looking for a headset+mic for long video meetings on Zoom and Teams. Not gaming. By looking at the review the closed version seems like the better pick due to the comfort advantage over the open version. I need to be able to have them on for multiple 2-hour sessions during a work day. Probably around 6 hours a day. This product also caught my attention due to the good mic review, seems to be scoring higher than most competitors in that department too. But when you started to rip apart the audio quality on the comfy closed version I fell back into frustration. Why is it so difficult to get good audio AND good mic?! Should I be looking at other products all together for my purpose?

I cannot beleive the hype around the H6 Pro's - they are not a good quality headphone by a long shot. I bought a pair and would rate them as one of the worst sounding headphones I have ever owned. Good headphones have a flat response across audible range. The H6pro have a massive bump of several dB in the upper base register which makes them sound forced and un-natural. The reason it's a problem is that if you turn them down to stop the bass overwhelming you can't hear the upper-mids and highs. A good quality headphone with a flat response would allow people to listen at much lower volume levels and actually hear more detail / information. The positional imaging from the H6 Pro while not great is acceptable and they are comfortable to wear, but that's just not enough to justify the cartoonish bass response and lack of detail. My old AKG K7's blow the H6Pro's away - and they were half the price.

UPDATE: I returned the open back H6PRO and bought Closed back. I can confirm that it is cool for games only if 1/ change the stock pads with the dekoni leather one and 2/ activate spatial audio Dolby Atmos for headphones
I listen to your advise (and 100+ more reviewers too) and bought the Open back H6PRO.
    For a reference I already own HD598, X2HR, MMX300, TYGR 300R, Cloud Alpha, Monoprice Retro, V-moda M100.
I find H6PRO Open to be one of the worst headphones that I have.
I am just a regular gamer not an audiophile guy.
I've tested the headphone on SoundBlaster G6, GSX 300, Fiio E10K.
Highs are too hight - for example in CSGO on cs_office - when I go shoot some windows or shoot some teammate bot in the head - the sound is so harsh that it hurts. Strange that only for specific sounds it is harsh but overall the sound quality is very bad.
If I lower the volume - it changes the sound dramatically and also with a lower volume I cannot hear the footsteps.
In the Battlefield games again sound is so bad that it lose the magic of the beautiful music/audio in the game.
I've tried different cables and different computers.
Maybe the closed back may be different but I don't think so.
From all of my headphones I like HD598 for music, TYGR for casual games and Monoprice Retro for the epic bass when I want fun.
I wanted a headset for footsteps but this is so bad that I think to return it.
Idk how everyone say it is good .. maybe mine is deffective.
It is so strange, cause if I listen to music it sounds not so bad as in games.
