Former Republican here. I'd been leaning away for a long time, because of social issues and the religious nationalism that was growing long before I knew that word for it. Finally made the break official when Trump became the nominee in 2016. I'll be voting Blue until the current Republican Party is a smoking ruin and a responsible Right party has taken its place. I'm not holding my breath!

Thank you George Conway for doing what you can. I have donated $10 a month ever since Biden announced, so i figure he'll get a couple hundred bucks from me. It comes directly out of my retirement savings, of which there isn't nearly enough. But retirement won't matter in a Trump Republican't Authoritarian Hellscape, so i'm giving all i can for the long haul. I urge everyone to set aside denial or cynicism to do the same.

I wondered how much $$ the Cheney, Bushes, McCain and Reagan gave to Biden. All the old world conservatives loathe this Orange traitor.
I *love* this show. I’m a paralegal who’s worked in the legal field all her life and the rule of law is foundational to me. I also voted straight Republican for over 40 years until Trump showed up and I said “Hell no!” Props to George on his commitment because I completely identify and appreciate the emotion tied to it. I feel the same way and have also donated to multiple democratic candidates for the first time ever as I never donated to Republican campaigns. I believe this is a turning point for our nation and we can deal with policy differences after we get through this mess. Side note, also coping with life with a dedicated Trump voting spouse but married over 40 years. Conflicted is an understatement.

The issue with the USA is the electoral college. Democrats have won past several popular votes. In 1927 our population was equal as far as rural and city population. The electoral college made a bit of sense. Now minority rules and Republicans understand this. Unless Democrats win Senate with 60 % plus we cannot get rid of electoral college.

I'm 74 years old, and I've always voted for democrats and I've never regretted it, with the exception of Perot, oops. Clinton lost my vote bc he took advantage of a young woman. Every vote was my attempt to protect Roe v Wade. It was always at risk from republicans .
Im guessing, he tried to stick with Kellyanne for the sake of the children, until it became obvious, that divorce was better for both the children and him.

That’s so cool that you’re working the convention in Chicago. When I was 17, I attended the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. My grandparents were part of the New Mexico Delegation so I got to go as a Page. It was an incredible experience-a contested convention with Eugene McCarthy challenging Hubert H. Humphrey for the nomination. (I think they were both from Minnesota.) Humphrey prevailed. Outside the convention hall, the police were beating up protesters, which was eye-opening to a 17 yr old girl. Anyway, have a great time at the convention. Your work will be important. 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🫏🫏🫏🫏🫏
