As an Italian, sometimes I eat pizza.
Since I came to know about these tricks here what I did:
Saturday evening , while my homemade pizza was cooking in the oven, I had a glass of water with a tablespoon of ACV, then ate a cucumber and carrot salad (fiber) and a piece of Parmesan cheese (protein and fat)
Then two slices of my pizza topped with mozzarella, some vegetables and anchovies.

Lemon before food, or vinegar (I prefer apple cider vinegar) was popular in the 70s for slimming. My mother had varicose veins needing surgery before taking apple cider vinegar. She never needed the operation after that. I used it on mouth ulcers, but in any case, you need to be careful of tooth enamel. So, some water after vinegar is good. Vinegar/oil/dressing is good.

@@sisters299 my mother would take a cap full of apple cider vinegar in warm water with 1 teaspoon of honey. The cap is the one on the bottle. She would have that several times a day. She was a busy housewife with 7 children. She took that for months and Never needed an operation. She continued it throughout her life and never got varicose veins again. All the family were used to drinking it. None of us ever got varicose veins.

There are a traditional ways of eating that have a salad as a starter, this has evolved naturally as the way of eating. Also a vegetable soup as a starter is a traditional way of eating. You are also not as hungry when you dish up your main meal so tend to naturally eat less of the main.

Ah! Traditional teaching said that the stomach churned food. It seems this is no longer known to be the case. The model now seems to be a syringe pushing food through.

My mum told me this decades ago. She passed away in 2012 in her 90s. I am never going to find out how she knew all she knew. The importance of stretching, deportment, make you own meals, order of eating, portion size, feed your gut with kimchi and fermented, and the apple cider or lemon in the morning. I have no desire to trivialise whatsoever...it is the 'why do some of us get this knowledge from our mums in the 1960s and 1970s and here are now podcasts, what happened? Even tho it was used did anyone really know about glucose levels 100s of years ago?

    • @foxfitnesswellnessnutritio6701

I think that 100 years ago, food was not as processed as it it now, and some of it, is so ultra processed, its not the food it was prior to processing. We have changed the composition of it by processing. 100 years ago, there were no processed foods, only whole natural foods, so therefor very little issue with glucose or diabetes….just my opinion….

I think I have cravings, but I clearly feel that by eating more sugary food I won't make the situation better, so I eat meat/eggs/vegetables after I get the cravings. And it ends them. I just feel that I have cravings, but sugary food is not nutrient dense enough to satisfy them. So it's weird, but I begin to eat healthy food right after I get a glucose spike, and I generally don't want to eat food with sugar at all, because it's nutrient poor food that doesn't satisfy me.

Is there a difference in responses for people who have issues with glucose - eg Type 2 Diabetes or Pre Diabetes, and those who do not have an issue? In other words, is the effect so great that it means people who are reactive to sugar/starch with a big spike, don't react in an extreme way?

Video stopped before the last question answered. New research indicates we shouldn’t be eating six meals, only 2 or 3.

Vinegar is the oldest condiment humans have used invented. You can also get you vinegar is all our preserved foods, Gerkins, chim churri, beetroot & onions in vinegar, sourkrout.
Just add it to the side of your meal. If your eating fatty foods like ribs then a vinegar condiment is perfect to help the meal. It not that big a deal. Always eat vinegar with bread or pasta.

Love you Zoe but this is badly edited. Just asks about a possible danger in discovery then cuts off
I have seen link to main discussion but many will not.

We all like hacks. And while this is perceived as good advice, it's actually a short cut.
Then again, it's something rather than nothing.

Not sure if it's great for the reputation of Zoe to be effectively endorsing somebody who hawks diet supplements for €53 a bottle on her website. I'm not saying the science of her argument is bogus but this raises alarm bells for me.

Dr Sarah Berry did not listen to Jesse...she said fibre before a meal, not protein, and she said consuming up to 2 tbsp vinegar a day, not 6 times before a typical 6 meals a day ! 😂

This way of "eating foods in order" is nothing new. If one reads EATING THE HAY WAY. William Hay proposed this method of eating foods in order and keeping certain foods separately in the 1820's.

Don't drink the vinegar, that's gross.
Just stick to crudités (vegs) with a light vinaigrette dressing. Vinegar is not for drinking 🤣

Zoe, omg you cheapskate! I’m being glib but that was bad form to cut her off mid-answer like that. I know you’re funneling people to your show, but what monster BS to not just SHARE with those that will not follow. You could have posted the whole episode and had a new subscriber. Many, in fact. But you chose to be stingy, and that’s just bad form.
