To get the best benefits of Apple cider vinegar, we have to take in the morning before our meal, but is it safe to take with our morning medications, like Synthroid? Thank you, in advance, for answering my question. 🙏😊
You start by cooking up rice, pasta or potatoes. Then put them in the refrigerator overnight, so they cool down. Take them out the next day, and those carb-rich foods are now resistant starches. When you eat them, your blood sugar won't spike, you'll feel full quicker, and your body won't absorb as many calories.

I am from Manila (Philippines ) and our traditional SAVORY Filipino breakfast meal included vinegar and a hint of soy sauce with garlic or chilies as a side sauce to flavor our dried - stir fried fish or sweet meats (chicken, pork or beef) accompanied with garlic fried rice. We serve this with our Spanish hot chocolate or coffee. So it’s encouraging to learn this hack, we’ve been on this traditional breakfast meal for ages! 😊Thank you once again! Oh I missed mentioning- I’ve been doing the savory and vinegar drink hacks ( 1 tbsp of Braggs vinegar with cold water before meals) and it works like magic. It was my mom who introduced this to me a few years back. Was a skeptic at first but listening to our Gucose Goddess here made me want to continue on. I also try my best to eat all the veggies first (cooked or raw salads ) and limit my carbs to 3 tbsp of rice or a slice of bread midway AFTER the proteins which helped my digestion and allowed me to maintain my 143 lbs at 5’8”, and at 61 now - never been healthier, slimmer and toned. 😊 Last one, incorporating some fermented food (sauerkraut, kimchi ) with our main dish helps to make us feel more satisfied. Filipinos love “atsara” local pickled unripe papayas eaten as a side dish ) and I mix mine with sauerkraut to balance the sweetness. Great advice! Thank you!❤😊
Indian culture also recommends -Eat lots of veggies -Walk a bit after every meal -Fill your tummy only 2/3 -Do not drink water with a meal, only after an hour and a half -Do not eat while watching TV or while having an argument on table -Pray before your meal. -Be a mindful eater. And I just added the apple cider vinegar hack (first thing in the morning) few months back and it really works as well. 1 table spoon .with glass of water .....just works wonders within 2 weeks

Yes but it's less processed. The actual flour particles are a bit larger resulting more time for the body to metabolize the starch into glucose. Consequently, glucose enters the blood stream slower.

Followed by paratha with vegetables or any savory dish idli dosa with protein, carbs and veggies. We end the meal with a probacterial drink like chaas or kokum. We ate pure ghee. No refined oils or sugar. We copied west and now we have same diseases like west. But we have rich Ayurvedic wisdom that is reversing the diseases nationwide.
@@Sam-zg3fg fruit should be consumed first. It is fastest to digest. If you eat it last, it mixes with proteins and fats which take longer to move out of stomach. Mixing fruit will lead to purification of proteins and fats which leads to gas and acidity. Hence eat fruits first. After 1 or 2 hour gap start eating raw veggies and then rest of the meal.
salt breakfast, never sweet, start every meal with 1 tablespoon of vinegar first, then cruditées, then protein, and pasta bread or dessert for last. and at the end, 10 minutes workout . I will do it! I got her book. thx so much👏👏🔝🔝🙏
Glad to see two people I've been following for a while, books I've been reading, sharing the same spot and helping people around the world to make their lives better!
I bought her books a few days ago and I have started following her advice. I eat a savoury breakfast and have a veggie starter before each meal. I have just eaten pizza with no guilt as I ate my salad before that. First time I don't feel guilty after having pizza. What's amazimg is that I'm content with just one slice of pizza while in the past I ate as many 4 slices and still felt hungry!! I think I can make these hacks a habit for life!!! Thank you!!!
Moving after food causes digestive issues. The best one that works for me is to eat carbs in evening where our sugar fluctuates less. Starting with vegetables or protein also works but you have to wait to out before eating carbs for 15 minutes.

No sweet breakfast veggies first then protein and starch and sweet last. Move your feet ten minutes after meal, walk or just move around the house ACV on a glass of water before meal. The ONLY way you'll drop weight is to eat in a calorie deficit. It has little to do with how many blood sugar spikes you have, unless you are diabetic. If a sweet breakfast satiates you for a decent amount of time then there's no reason to not eat it.
The reason to try to avoid glucose spikes is to put your energy on an even keel...no sugar crashes! I can do this!! Who doesn't want to feel better and still indulge in sweets?
@@psycheread3258 One of Jessie's reasons is to have constant energy but it's entirely down the individual. I can eat sugar mid afternoon on an empty stomach and not crash. Her main arguement is that the more blood sugar spikes we have the quicker we age and die and this is not backed by science; this is fear-mongering.
Thanks for the video,I’ve been following you for about 3weeks now and I feel my problem has been solved coz I’ve got enough energy and no more constipation. I feel great.
I really couldn't explain why I lost weight but after this video I completely understand. I feel so much better and when I skip it i lose my good feeling in a couple days. Thank you very much. Lovely young lady…finally someone who actually cares about that whole diabetes thing! Intelligent and willing to actually share and help REVERSE this ☠️ outcome.
Simple food hacks by eating in the right order. Basically you want to have a salad with vinaigrette based salad dressing (adding apple cider or balsamic vinegar) before eating carbs. Then do light exercise for 10 minutes to slow down the amount of glucose absorption as your muscles will require some glucose. Not to mention, walking and light movement can also help digestion.
I’m so excited to share this… I watched this podcast a while ago and remembered that I used to do apple cider vinegar. I incorporated that into my morning routine. Yesterday I had minor surgery and the nurse said ” make sure you eat when you get home” I didn’t have my vinegar drink…. And although I had just had surgery, I was still hungry and eating food, mostly good food…but cheese and bread. At the end of the, day I realized that my glucose had spiked all day because of I had not had my vinegar drink! I self corrected today and had all the good stuff! These simple little hacks make so much difference. Thanks for all you do Jim…you are so loved and appreciated

My older sister sent this and so glad she did. The explanation of this is amazing! Love how she was so clear on making sense of everything. Thank you! And it's 1 tablespoon of vinegar. I do this first thing in the am and at the end of the night with apple cider vinegar and water.
#1 is sooo true. I've been always eating a healthy sweet breakfast; but anytime I have a savory , my day goes sooo much better. I've just been in denial, and need to follow it. She's brilliant, cuz the rest is so true also, don't hear it elsewhere.
This is really interesting because it's everything grandparents, at least in my country, usually advice. I grew up with my parents and grandparents saying I need to eat my veggies first before anything else, they told me that walking after a meal was really healthy, they taught me to drink a glass of water with apple cider vinegar after waking up and we always eat savory for breakfast, never sweet. There's a reason why all this advice is passed down the generations. I'm glad I know now the why behind it 😊❤
My biggest takeaway is that it's simple. I want to get her book. Apple cider vinegar with water before every meal that you eat helps decrease glucose and starches. Eating vegetables before meals helps also.
I like the way she is trying to explain the science in a simple way for a common person to live a better life. I have now understood what was going wrong with my weight gain at times.. the spikes
Eating food in a certain order isn't simple. Imagine you have a burger; you eat the lettuce and tomato first, followed by the cheese and the meat and the bun last. That's not simple. That's messed up!

@@georgebalaceanu-dx4vm I would like to see the research, too. The only people who I've seen promote the daily consumption of ACV are UA-cam influencers who have weak qualification. I wouldn't not be surprised to find that they are all, or mostly, parroting each other. My experience with daily ACV ingestion is that the only difference it makes is a contribution to over-active bladder syndrome. I beat OAB by quitting ACV, reducing caffeine and alcohol intake, and counter-intuitively drinking more water, in small portions throughout the day. I'd consider try to reintroduce ACV if I could find some compelling evidence that it is the magical elixir that the pretty faces claim it to be.

@@ORIGJINnope, that includes fruits. Have them at the end of a meal - turns out them digesting the fasted doesn't cause a digestive issue if eaten last. It may not have been explained well in the video so it wasn't really clear, but it's all in her book and supported research 😊.
With such a sweet smiling 'therapist/scientist/author' explaining us in her sweet voice, who needs that sugar to start with? Seriously, her positivity is indeed contagious. Thanks for all the tips. As an instinct, I used to avoid taking a sweet thing to break my fast, but with all the science and other tips to back this, I am all for it.

How to eat for healthy brain from glucose goddess:
1. Savoury breakfast built around protein instead of sweet breakfast
2. apple cider vinegar before meal
3. Veggie first at beginning of meal, followed by protein and carbo last
4. Move after meal - walk, exercise, clean house
I don’t get it. Do you do this on a day to day basis or one thing for a week? Like first week on protein every breakfast no apple cider no exercise etc

week 1: eat savory breakfast (sugar would only bring dopamine/ but protein brings focus)
week 2: tablespoon of vinegar in big glas of water before one of the meals a day (reduce glucose spike)
week 3: before meal, you eat a plate of vegetables (fibers) to protect walls
week 4: after one of the meals, move for 10 minutes (contract the muscles so the glucose you ate goes directly to the muscles.

Last one, incorporating some fermented food (sauerkraut, kimchi ) with our main dish helps to make us feel more satisfied. Filipinos love “atsara” local pickled unripe papayas eaten as a side dish ) and I mix mine with sauerkraut to balance the sweetness. Great advice! Thank you!❤😊
The vinegar thing is completely different on what shes trying to imply compared to what we used to.
Indian culture also recommends
-Eat lots of veggies
-Walk a bit after every meal
-Fill your tummy only 2/3
-Do not drink water with a meal, only after an hour and a half
-Do not eat while watching TV or while having an argument on table -Pray before your meal.
-Be a mindful eater.
And I just added the apple cider vinegar hack (first thing in the morning) few months back and it really works as well.
1 table spoon .with glass of water .....just works wonders within 2 weeks

Is it OK to do these at once a day? Anyhow, do you think it is better?
@@이미옥-v9z It would be best to apply all of these 4 eating habits to every meal, but at least once a day. Try skipping breakfast all together, and replacing it with berry tea with apple cider vinegar. Make your lunch low carb, high protein and then for dinner, make sure you eat your veggies first and any carbs in moderation last.
I get freshly milled stone ground flour from a local bakery, but what’s the health benefit? Just from freshness?
Yes but it's less processed. The actual flour particles are a bit larger resulting more time for the body to metabolize the starch into glucose. Consequently, glucose enters the blood stream slower.

We in India have been following all these since centuries.
We start with lemon juice or amla juice in warm water or kokum. Breakfast is a fruit.
She says you have to eat something savory before that fruit in the morning.
Have the fruit last

@@Sam-zg3fg fruit should be consumed first. It is fastest to digest. If you eat it last, it mixes with proteins and fats which take longer to move out of stomach. You've been helping people eat in a disordered way?

Most helpful interesting video. Thank you both Jim and Jessy!

Hi Jesse, the answer to your question is one table spoon of any vinegar. Thank you again you made me very happy by listening to your 4 steps

#1 is sooo true. I've been always eating a healthy sweet breakfast; but anytime I have a savory , my day goes sooo much better. I've just been in denial, and need to follow it. She's brilliant, cuz the rest is so true also, don't hear it elsewhere.
What is a Savory meal?
What a fantastic video!! I feel like it was exactly the right length and love that it has immediately actionable hacks!!
I'm glad I know now the why behind it 😊❤
You both so lovely 😊❤️ Thank you Jim for having her!! I didn't knew about glucose goddess....happy to find out 😁👍
My biggest takeaway is that it's simple. I want to get her book. Apple cider vinegar with water before every meal that you eat helps decrease glucose and starches. Eating vegetables before meals helps also.
I think she said apple cider vinegar before just 1 meal a day. I've read it's tolerable to do 1 or 2 tablespoons per day though.
@@ataylor992 She said that any vinegar will work.
ACV is not guaranteed it depends on what you eat. But walking for 15 minutes after 30 minutes of a meal works for sure.
Not every meal that’s too much just one meal - 3 x day too much acid for the system
She actually says in her Glucose Revolution book that a tablespoon of ACV in a tall glass of water a few times day is fine for most people.
I like the way she is trying to explain the science in a simple way for a common person to live a better life.
I have now understood what was going wrong with my weight gain at times.. the spikes
I love the simplicity of these principles.
