I noticed your B complex has trimethylglycine. Is that and/or other glycinate minerals problematic for highly oxalate sensitive people? Also, if ascorbate is not tolerated because of oxalate, is it just best to get vitamin C from food, or can a different kind of C supplement be safe?

Thought I was so healthy until I went carnivore and experienced an oxalate dump. Painful! Going low oxalate (not no oxalate) is helping clear up even minor itching and pain. This is the best, most comprehensive talk on oxalates I've found. And I've been searching. Everyone should at least explore the subject. Your deep dives into topics are always great. Thank you!
Dr. Osborne said Not to go oxalate free unless you have an issue but only for a short time to get issue under control. You may want to watch the entire video again.
I'd highly recommend you go to a low oxalate diet to ease your way into no oxalate. I've been Carnivore for almost 5yrs. Took me 3yrs to have oxalate dumping, because I went no oxalate, no dairy for 6mos...and it wasn't fun, although beautiful once on the other side. I'd highly recommend you buy Sally Norton's book, Toxic Superfoods, and checking out all her interviews here on YT to learn all you can.
@@MrAbi123Yes! Slow and easy. Maybe replace one food for a healthier one at a time like swap out quinoa and similar discussed here. I found sorghum and rice better and still cheap, but I am low carbohydrate now for longer periods like days, sometimes weeks. My body adapted to eat more healthy fats.

What a God-send video!! You just saved my life. I wonder if anyone consumes spinach, vegetables, and fruits more than I do. Yet unfortunately, I've not been going to work for several months now due to some serious gut and stomach issues, including malabsorption and indigestion. i had no idea how many foods i was eating that were very high oxalate, lots of white potatoes and huge amounts of iced tea (black tea), thought i was adding veggies for health, cut those out too, thanks for spreading this important health tip.
I have had fibromyalgia, low thyroid, chronic fatigue and ibs for 30 years. I am almost 60 now. I cut out dairy and gluten, I had already been a vegetarian since I was 19, but my weight kept going up and the pain kept getting worse. I ended up 17 stone and hardly able to move. No one would believe i was eating healthy, loads of nuts, beans, veg, at every meal. I then ended up getting terrible low back pain and spasms under my right ribs. I was a single parent and holding a job down it was horrific. I was then told that i had gallstones and had to get my gallbladder out. 6 months before I got the gallbladder out. I said that I wanted to try and save my gallbladder so i absolutely went on no process, low fat whole food diet and kept to this after gallbladder was removed. The pain was just getting worse and worse. I came across the stuff about oxalate. I thought back about how sick i had got when i went on green smooths, how i had been in agony after having rhubarb, same with beets and spinach. I have been cutting out high oxalates. I have started eating fish but I am struggling with meat. I am making flour out of organic porridge and making flatbread out of it. Also sometimes pancakes. I will see how I go, i hope and pray i have found a way out of this.
This was a solid presentation and I’m happy you included the supplements in the video. But I wish that doctors would acknowledge that oxalates can be the DRIVER of gut disturbance. My mother juiced carrots and celery for us daily from the tender age of 3. Add some whole wheat and peanut butter in childhood and your accumulating oxalate at an immense rate. I never had an antibiotic until I was in my 40’s and I never took so much as an aspirin until I was in my 20’s. Oxalates also CAUSE gut dysbiosis. Everyone needs to take this seriously.
I bought into the plant based diet crap our own government guidelines push. Mostly vegetarian for years, through my 50s and early 60s. If I got aches, I assumed it was aging, and a job that was wearing on my body. Back pain did lead me to discover a large 2+ cm kidney stone. But no one warned me about oxalates. I got off the green spinach smoothies with peanut butter, but didn't realize ALL the oxalates containing foods til recently. My coincidental saving grace was moving to Florida 9 years ago. Being surrounded by lemon and lime trees, I started drinking constant citrus water. The stone has since broken in 2 and regularly fragments, causing painful episodes as they pass. This is due to taking up a very active sport in my retirement. I hope that it dissolves completely and goes away. I may still eat my salads, but only lettuces and arugula with a few odd chopped veggies.

Boiling reduces oxalate content by about 50%. Steaming reduces it be less than that, because there is less contact with the cooking water. Still plenty of oxalate left to cause you trouble if you lack the oxalate-metabolizing gut bacteria that chomp it up before you can absorb it. But if you tolerate them, then lucky for you!

Very compact and practical lecture. Thank You! First You have to get Your body, Your digestion, and Your immune system working again well. To make it easy, get a list of all vitamins and minerals. Go through each and think about if You get enough. If not, adapt Your diet or supplement. You have to fix any deficiency. Tip: If you are in a sick state, Your body and immune system might use up vitamin D3 very quickly and You need more than typically recommended to maintain health (Combine D3 with K2 and Magnesium). Opposite of deficiency: what are You having to much? How much carbs? Ohhh sugar You have to quit my friend. At least until You are stable (1-3) Month. Because sugar is feeding certain bacteria in You and in Your gut (yeasts, candida and if You don’t quit sugar and high carb foods, then You are working for the enemy. Are You having too much plant foods. Normal guts can digest plant foods with lectins better. Try a mainly carnivore diet for some time as a treatment. Learn how to cook (ground beef into pan, 5-10 Minutes dinner ready). Are You maybe heaving a lot of mold in the air, or a toxic environment. Maybe psychologically stressed constantly. Jesus Christ: If You pray (to God now instead of continue to fight with Your own power) then shut Your door (face) and God will hear You in Your quiet place. The tears that You weep inside drip directly in front of his mercy thrown. Stop fighting. People that are not looking for advice don’t want Your advice too, no matter how good You mean and how much You love them. God loves us so much but many people don’t care, know better, try their own ways, diets, treatments. Pray to God first to lead You to his wisdom and his teachers about health and about everything. He will gladly hear You.

Hi Dr Osborne please do a video on millets l, so many people have millets especially people from India who are recommended to have this as an alternative to eating wheat for controlling blood sugar. It would be good to get your opinion on this grain.
Everything if eaten in small quantity and washed good and soaked overnight then stir fry or boil it won’t cause problem and squeeze lemon on everything. Drink more water . When calcium not absorb and put in wrong place also causes calcium stone
Hello Doctors Peter Osborne .please if you don’t mind ,make the letters readable I can’t read it too small print.also please don’t remove too quickly. Thank you for sharing greatly appreciated vxXX
I react terribly to sunflower, flax and pumpkin seeds too and can't eat animal products or olive oil or other oils either as they give me swollen painful lymph nodes. But olive oil is the worst! Nightshade plants too. Antibiotics and mercury toxicity are no joke and seriously lethal!!!!
I used to have the same problems. I used a lot of mimosa pudica to kill parasites. Parasites come out when the know food is coming into your stomach. Mimosa pudica smothers them & you poop them out. I started out very slowly, & by the 3rd week alot of dead parasites were in the toilet.

untested (as to celiac), but def. autoimmune (PsArth) and leaky/sensitive. Thank you for ALL your info, but especially reminding us that IF we truly wish for health back: 1). Eat ONLY healthful foods (only!!)
You mentioned NSAIDS, but did not discuss details (unless you did later on, in which case, sorry). I did a quick search and learned something I thought I'd quickly share. If you want to avoid oxalates from anti inflammatory pills (NSAIDS) then avoid the triple A's. Advil, Aspirin, Aleve. Aspirin is ibuprofen and Aleve is naproxen but triple A is easy to remember. Cherrio!
I’m a little confused from your comment. You said by avoiding the AAA as you avoid oxalates from NSAIDs and then immediately after that you said that Aleve is naproxen and therefore safer where as in the sentence before you included it in the AAA’s.
@@robbiewood3956 I think I see your confusion, sort of. Aspirin and Aleve are just brand names. The actual name of the compounds are ibuprofen and naproxen. Example: Peruvian blow is actually just cocaine.
I've had a full ileostomy, and am unable to absorb any fats, including fat-soluble vitamin supplements. I order a water-soluble version (ADEKs) of the vitamins. I do continue to eat animal protein, even though it usually causes a lot of pain, exiting the stoma. The bile can no longer connect with the fat. I've learned what I can and cannot eat over the years. I leave the leafy greens alone, anyway, because their vitamin K aids in blood clotting, which I must avoid at all costs, due to my atherosclerosis. Instead I take a Micellized K2D3, along with Nattokinase gel tabs, low-dose aspirin, 20mg Pravastatin, and lots of other supplements. I'm open to your advice, especially about electrolytes, as entire colon was removed, so I have to stay hydrated. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on UA-cam. I'm doing pretty good for 79+ years. At this stage, and with 3 significant ailments, I'm not going to deny myself too many edible pleasures, like candy and cookies.😊😋
I wouldn't worry bout it Just steam and juice majority of veggies and if cutting out all gluten sources also up ur beans and tofu and nuts/seeds for extra cals
Can you comment from this video a d your histamine video. The bacteria you said is good to battle oxalates is also high in histamine And the older the advacado the less oxalates but higher in histamine? Thanks
Hi dr Osborne thank you for replying to one of my messages before I really appreciate it :) can I have a diet with no vitamin C? It is really making me ill palpitations and anxiety through the roof not to mention the skin conditions and the inflammation in my joints. I’m frightened to take a completely out of my diet in case I get ill as my doctor said I will get scurvy
I'm a healthcare worker and I have celiac disease. I've been on an AIP diet for 2 years now. The masks that I'm being forced to wear (I prefer cotton) irritates my skin. I know my body is reacting to the material that the mask is made from. I think it might be made from some form of corn...sounds crazy but I always get a particular type of break-out when I accidentally ingest corn. And this type of break-out is what I'm getting whenever I wear this mask. Is there a specific type of mask that you recommend for people with autoimmune diseases that are safer for our skin. THe skin is the first line of defense. I hate knowing that my body is reacting to something that I have to wear every day for hours on end. I can't imagine what it's doing to my immune system which is already on overdrive. :/ Boss doesn't really care. Says 'it's just a rash." Hasn't got a clue! Very frustrated!
I am from Canada. I used to eat almonds by the bowls. I am not diabetic, no chronic problems, eat home cooked meals, yet had Stage 2 colon cancer. Fortunately I need not do chemo. I discovered I have massive oxalate dumping from my eyelids when I went carnivore for two months. I always suffer from stingy dry eyes. After 2-3 weeks dumping, my dry eyes was much relieved. As I could not deal with the pain during my trip, I start to eat some nuts to stop the oxalate dumping. After my trip I will go back to carnivore and continue the painful dumping process. Short term pain for long term gain. I believe my colon cancer and dry eyes are a result of massive almond and nuts consumption. Any suggestions to help alleviate oxalate dumping causing swollen and itchy eyelids?
I have the issue right now, my bladder hurts so bad... my joints too... And urologist just give me painkiller 😢 I had 9 rounds of antibiotics. No wonder they don't work bcs the root problem is oxalate.

Spinach is very high in oxalates.

Hello from the Andes mountains in Colombia.

Hi,Anne from Singapore here:enjoy watching health topics in UA-cam!
Excellent show. I have erred on the almond flour replacement strategy and suffered for overdoing it.

Me too what was y’all’s symptoms?
Great video as always!!! Your mission is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing. Many blessings to you and Be Well..!!
I was eating a lot of cashews for a few months and getting wild night sweats when I slept. All of a sudden they went away when I stopped eating nuts altogether
I am really loving this video thank you so much

I'm from Singapore. Greetings!
Thank you Dr. Osborne of this excellent presentation of Oxalates.
Thank you so much! Incredibly this info arrived in a timely matter. Overload in "healthies" veggies and herbs for a while now. Terrible symptoms.
Love your information, Dr. O. God bless!
Oh! Yes
25:20 Yes! My flare ups happened most acutely in the spring. No idea it was so seasonal. I also feel worse after taking turmeric.
Low oxalate here after recent kidney stones and keto 17 years.
Great video and such helpful information!
Smart Board is awesome!!!! This is a great topic and your information really helped me understand oxalates better. I appreciate the individualized approach, it is what I reiterate to anyone I speak with.
You are so awesome thank you!!!!! Helping me a whole lot with your videos!
Absolutely
Highly informative!!!! 👏👏👏 Thank you!
Hi Dr Osborne please do a video on millets l, so many people have millets especially people from India who are recommended to have this as an alternative to eating wheat for controlling blood sugar. It would be good to get your opinion on this grain.
Read his book: No grain, no pain
Millet is a grain
Everything if eaten in small quantity and washed good and soaked overnight then stir fry or boil it won’t cause problem and squeeze lemon on everything. Drink more water .
When calcium not absorb and put in wrong place also causes calcium stone
@@mnayak9348 when you have your machine broken even a small quantity make you sick, so that's not true for everyone.
@@mnayak9348please shut up and stay in india
It is low in oxalates. I tend to eat almost no grains and now am eating low oxalate and am having oxalate dumping symptoms.
Great episode as always!! Love this topic!!!!
Very good information. Thank you!
Hello Doctors Peter Osborne .please if you don’t mind ,make the letters readable I can’t read it too small print.also please don’t remove too quickly. Thank you for sharing greatly appreciated vxXX
Hello from Denmark ❤ and thank you so much for your channel
Best form of calcium in citrate form
Gluten sensitivity and oxalate issues. I am gluten free but still have oxalate issues. I don't have celiac but I have permissive celiac gene according to the gastrointestinal dr.
Thanks
New subscriber from Columbus, OH; had not found you before, even with all my oxalate searches. Wow!
Time release Vita-C suffices for myself very well. Prefer Arugula and Slaw salads to avoid Oxalates. The largest organ skin talks the most...lol 62 yrs old// Nevada
Also known as painful bladder Syndrome PBS - I’ve had it all my life but never known the Oxylate connection
I have an overactive bladder. I wonder if that’s oxalates also?
Were you on a high oxalate diet?@@daliab8493
AMSTERDAM HOLLAND THANK YOU SUCCESS FOR ALL
I was diagnosed with high levels of calcium oxalate, and beef and chocolate were on the list.
Beef was on the low to no oxalate list, chocolate was on the high oxalates list. Not sure why you clumped them together.

Thank you!
untested (as to celiac), but def. autoimmune (PsArth) and leaky/sensitive.
Aspirin is aspirin Advil is Ibuprofen
Hi thanks fo what you do! CT
💕 great video, full of info. Thanks. Always learning so much.
Great info
Excellent advice! It is all in the gut! Thanks!
Cloves are high in oxalates.

Thanks so much for all you do!
i'm overwhelmed. on an aip diet. hard enough. now most of what i eat is on this list. :( ugh
I wouldn't worry bout it Just steam and juice majority of veggies and if cutting out all gluten sources also up ur beans and tofu and nuts/seeds for extra cals
No no... don’t do beans and tofu!

Hi Dr. I am from Baudette, MN

Can you comment from this video a d your histamine video.
The bacteria you said is good to battle oxalates is also high in histamine
And the older the advacado the less oxalates but higher in histamine?
Thanks
Love this podcast. Got rid of my Exama.?😅
Oh no!!! I haven’t started yet and now it’s just becoming way TOO COMPLICATED, HELP,!!😰
Whats left to eat now?
After all years of suffering ….I dream to be able to live on Prana….and I am NOT exaggerating.
Unprocessed Meat, eggs and butter! The ultimate elimination diet! It’s working wonders for me!
Eat human diet but in balance
Nuts make me feel bad, stomach feels like I have a stone in it. I don't eat nuts anymore.
💯 yes
I can't eat kiwi because those oxalate shards cause my throat to itch.
Why are you wearing a mask... Do you work in a grainary or in a factory that makes a powdery substance.?????
LOL I wrote that during the pandemic. i was working in healthcare. no choice but to wear masks back then. @@astrialindah2773

How does one replace Oxilobacter in the gut? Thank you for this series. :)
You can't.
Do blood groups have anything to do with differing responses to the foods we eat?
I have the issue right now, my bladder hurts so bad... my joints too... And urologist just give me painkiller 😢
I had 9 rounds of antibiotics. No wonder they don't work bcs the root problem is oxalate.
1:12:59 ALSO: "Baking *powder*" containes ALUMINUM.
baking powder is often confused with "baking soda"
"Baking Soda" should be ONLY: Sodium Bicarbonate. Period.
You can easily find aluminum-free baking powder.

Any idea why drinking lemon juice in water (only onde day) would cause a severe calf cramp that same night? Major high oxalate issues here.
