Hidden gluten and cross contamination of gluten in your foods is a very common phenomenon. Often times, sources of exposure are in areas that one fails to discover. What's more, exposure goes deeper than food alone! Many people are not aware of the potential to react to gluten from non-food or air borne substances. Handling wheat based dog foods, breathing in flour from the air in a bakery, kissing, and skin lotions are common examples where hidden gluten can be found.

@@jenniferrobertson7303 Gluten free food is out for me, as you said, make your own food, eat whole foods only. I won’t be eating out either, and that’s hard, as it’s a very sociable thing to do.
We can do this Jennifer, it’s just a little extra work with planning, and clearing the cupboards and fridge of anything processed. Eat plan and whole foods, boring but essential, our bodies will thank us. 😉

This video is SUPER ! Well done. I have severe celiac and what you explained in this video is exactly what I do … to survive ! You should teach our doctors here in Quebec ! Most…don’t have a clue of how much gluten hides in every products of our today life and how much other proteins mimic gluten ( corn, rice etc )

  • @sherrybrown9476
    @sherrybrown9476 Рік тому +4

If products are certified gluten free, the ppm (parts per million) are less than 20 and are considered safe by celiac disease experts. Manufacturers with the gluten free certification follow stringent steps to prevent cross-contamination and the food is independently tested. If a product is made on shared equipment with wheat or gluten make sure it has the gluten free certification. Many people who need to be gluten free, also need to eliminate dairy and eggs from their diet and many are sensitive to other grains, as well. Rice and corn are considered gluten free, so if you need to stay away from those or other gluten free grains make sure to read labels, because if it’s certified gluten free it may still contain those.

Thanks for this info and the links. Just inspected my supplements, and discovered that about 60-70% have RICE flour!!!
I am "un-labeled" auto-immune with a referral to a rheumatologist I never saw (LOL). I went traditional "GF" in 2016 and saw some improvements in overall health and no additional "symptoms". Yep, I eat corn and rice moderately. Recently, developed acute skin issues, that no one has been able to diagnose, I declined the steroids. Dermatologist did a biopsy a couple weeks ago... waiting to get results which will likely be "NOTHING" but we shall see. I am scheduled to talk with a Homeopath and GAPS practitioner later today. Home she offers some insight and support.

Soaking wheat does not help as gluten proteins can not be digested in our gut in to single amino acids. The wheat is genetically modified .

How to ditch the lectins? They make me ill too 🙁

    • @-TheRealThing-
      @-TheRealThing- Рік тому +2

Lectins also play many vital roles within the body. They regulate cell adhesion and are involved in immune function and the synthesis of glycoproteins. Lectins are also involved in immune regulation, and some research indicates that they may have antimicrobial properties as well. In fact, they have been shown to be effective against several types of bacteria, including the strain that causes staph infections and E. coli.
If you cook foods you virtually eliminate nearly all lectins so you're not going to be consuming any sizeable amount.
This same guy Peter Osborne going on about problem foods has recipes for bacon wrapped dates on his website! Bacon is a type 1 carcinogen!
The World Health Organization has classified processed meats including ham, bacon, salami and frankfurts as a Group 1 carcinogen (known to cause cancer) which means that there's strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer. Eating processed meat increases your risk of bowel and stomach cancer.
Eat oats, eat rice, just buy gluten free versions.

@@stephaniekays6517 Anecdotal. I blame diary for my IBD which obviously involved leaky gut, I had been unwell for a few years prior to diagnosis in 2015. I stopped consuming animal products I've been off the meds for my IBD since 2016. I also blame meat & dairy for my sisters stage 4 endo.

    • @-TheRealThing-
      @-TheRealThing- Рік тому +1

@@stephaniekays6517 C Diff is usually caused by antibiotic use or from foods Spores of C. difficile, like those of C. perfringens, which can occur in meat and survive temperatures and times recommended for cooking. Dairy isn't a natural food source for humans. The fact that we have to impregnate cows & then take their babies from them (disposing of the male calves) in order to steal the milk should give you all the realisation you need. Not only that but 65-70% of the world are lactose intolerant & they are the normal ones. The gene responsible for that is supposed to get turned off after you wean from your mothers milk but those who continued to consume another mothers milk & never actually weaned kept that gene active. We're not supposed to be breast feeding as adults.
