I agree with you regarding giving BMD their props and BMD securing the marketing from the ground up.
If the Pyxis has the same 6K Full Frame sensor as the BMCC (like they say it is) than IR pollution will be controlled due to the OLPF of that sensor.

I used 8k on my insta 360 Ace Pro for some video for a major UK corporation a few weeks ago. They loved it and it only cost a few $100.

This is to add perspective for people who are complaining about the dynamic range of the pyxis.
So here is cineD dynamic range test done to a signal to noise ration of 2. The new bmcc6k gets a score of 11.7 so the pyxis will be the same as it the same sensor. A $3000 camera can’t get much more DR. The bmpcc og had a score of 11.2 and it’s 10 years old. Sure a $25000-$80000 camera has (if you are willing to pay a whole lot more) a true DR of 13-15.

Yes SDI and BNC TC is far more useful than a stop of DR! BM killed it!!!

SDI is good to see from all cameras and I’m glad to see them pushing the industry in that direction.

A new camera that uses a 6 year old sensor with a 19ms latency is a fail in my book.

The Sun and the Black hole, let see who is the winner. I can see that the black hole is trying to suck the Sun and it galaxy into an abyss. The black hole is taking advantage of the Sun turning into a supernova with Nebula.

Of course everyone will switch from RED to BLACKMAGIC!
Lets see what glory Blackmagic bought us:
    1. Adding a monitor but conveniently forget the hinge to be able to flip out and twist the screen.
    2. Gently asking $500 more for the same sensor with all the glory, warts and all.
    3. Nicely rub salt on the wounds and nudging us to buy actual usable monitor.
    4. Who wants KOMODO when we got NO rolling shutter, MORE dynamic range, 4K 120FPS in our dear PYXIS /sarcasm.
In my humble opinion, if BLACKMAGIC wont discontinue the OG BMCC FF 6K for couple of years into the future, I have no issues or qualms.

      In fairness:
      1. Komodo screen placement is also odd and does not flip or rotate
      2. RED has always offered its sensors in different bodies for various prices. The Dragon sensor alone has been in like 4 bodies.
      3. During DSMC1 and DSMC2 It was pretty much mandatory to buy RED Touch monitors for camera control.
      4. Probably people who want to save money on a camera body but still want 6k Full Frame compressed Raw.
Why get mad over having more options? We're not losing anything!

Did you watch the first 3 minutes of the video? It dives deeper into the 10 minute mark and even more as time moves on. It’s not just about the title…unfortunately

People were crying for a BM in a box, so here it is. If Sony hasn't offered a new sensor theres nothing they can do.

@@livestreamsuk6004 They could have put in the Ursa 12k Cine sensor with 16 stops of dynamic range and put a 6.000$ pricetag on it, this would be a reason to leave the komodo behind

Id keep the Red. It's image still feels more professional looking than a blackmagic. Your Red has been used by legit hollywood cinematographers. The Blackmagic cube is still a prosumer instrument and looks so.
