I have purchased your seven step course and lifetime membership. However, I’m not enrolling in the fellowship of the strings. Going to miss the encouragement and access to you. Have a great 2023.
As I sit here practicing Pretty Women and Wild Thing, I am reminded how fortunate I am to have found your You Tube sight...!!!! Yeah,Yeah,Yeah...!!!! Beatle Mike
No kidding! Pretty woman is my all time favorite song from Roy Orbison especially from the “Black and White Night” it reminds me of my wife who went to be with Jesus five years ago. Can’t wait to get good enough to play that one. Lets see I’m on my third day of your course now. I can’t tell you how much your style of teaching means to me as a beginner. You are awesome thanks again.
Thank you Lauren, I'm a 66 year old beginner and I've been enjoying your excellent tutorials. I appreciate that you suggest alternative easier chords and strumming patterns for beginners.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. This lesson is fantastic. For years I have learned some open cords but could not strum any cool patterns. I can finally strum and move through the open cords fairly well. I am about to retire and this is going to be the first song I am really going to sit and practice with. I am going to use this video as my guide.
Thx for responding regarding my question fretting an electric versus acoustic. I am starting from scratch, do not have a guitar but have always wanted an electric, so diving in with an buying an electric, I am an older student and already watching your videos before I have the guitar this has already helped give me confidence, so thx
Our band plays this song and it gets a great crowd response. You’ve done an exceptional job teaching this song for acoustic. Keep being the awesome guitar instructor you are. 💕
Factoid, The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were an English-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. It was released as a single in on August 29th, 1964 on Monument Records and spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 from September 26, 1964, the second single by Orbison to top the US charts. Thanks Teach... 🍎
Really like your videos. Have tried to learn guitar on an acoustic back when but found the strings difficult to press down to hear a good sound so got discouraged and lessons were not cheap. My question to you is, I would like to get another guitar but I want to start out with an electric for beginners, I believe it would be easier to press the strings. U make it look very simple, thx
It is easier to practice pressing the strings if you use an electric guitar. But if you wan't to use your acoustic, I suggest that you use lighter gauge strings.
Lauren, Love your lessons. Some of your listeners my want to listen, for inspiration, Roy Orbison, black and white night 30 recordings Roy Orbison - Oh, Pretty Woman (Black & White Night 30) - UA-cam He uses dual lead guitars. I don't know the name of the first one using the Paisley Tele but the second solo is by Bruce Springsteen, with Elvis Costello on rhythm acoustic, he also played piano and harmonica in other of his songs, Bonnie Ryatt is a back ground singer in some also. Roy was even more famous in England with the Beatles as an opening act in his London concert.
Lauren: That is fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing. Can you tell me please the model of your Crafter guitar. It has an awesome acoustic sound. I'm currently in the market for a new guitar.
At 3:23 you state it’s 2 bars of D. I struggled with this for a long time before I realized it was a bar and a half before it goes to E for 4 1/2 bars, then the riff
Thank you for letting me know. My sincerest apologies. Maybe I can do some editing to fix that. Even after 20+ years of playing guitar I apparently still count wrong 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
@@LaurenBateman not to worry. Suggestion only. I worked on this song for years on and off. Couldn’t get it right when playing along and playing on my own never sounded right. Always thought there was another chord somewhere. Timing was the fix. Don’t know why you hum after a while. You have a good voice. Unless you can’t remember the lyrics...LOL. Still enjoyed your lesson. Alway like to see people who like to share their love of music.
I must have said minor by accident. So sorry. We don't always catch these errors. When we do we try to put a correction on screen. This one slipped by us but not you!

Hey, you've a Crafter guitar! Very nice instrument and you don't see that many in the US. I've got one, as well!
No you don't. Thank you for noticing!
I can’t seem to find the lick for the song. But love how you teach

Little confused. You said chords are DD EEEE, but at the end you said "when you play that EM through". Time stamp 4:09

I think someone else mentioned that I counted wrong. Must have had an ADD moment.
Chorus/bridge chords are (C#m7)》Dm/G/C/Am Dm/G/C/C Dm/G/C/Am Dm/G/C/A F#m/Dm/E A/F#m/D/E
Thanks

What happened to the best part of pretty woman, the lick???
I have a separate video on that ☺️
The last two notes are B/A not A/A. The riff is modified in the last measure.
Cool Stafford. Thanks for letting us know.

@@LaurenBateman hi, this is class thankyou ....😊
You have my exact body type, that disturbs me
Not sure what that has to do with guitar but you must have an amazing body!
This song ends by going to AA ??? 😆
Uhh ok lol
😬
That is not and f sharp minor ................................It's a d major 7 chord
Music is fluid. Who cares? As long as it works and the students have fun.
A great lesson to link to the riff lesson already given: a great way to learn a cool song. Thanks Lauren
My pleasure!
