Do you want to drive the car or play with your phone…? Just got a 25 LT Blk a couple of weeks ago. No issues interfacing my iPhone or my wife’s Android for the most important functions via Blutooth. Can hands free make and receive calls in the vehicle though the audio system, texts, contacts,Music no issues. We absolutely love the vehicle…!!! Enjoyed your video!
I prefer Pandora for music and it's not available, so that's why I find myself using my phone! Otherwise not having Android Auto hasn't been an issue. I'm glad you are loving your car! 😃
There are two option packages totaling $2000 that come bundled together that add many nice convenience and safety features - including leather wrapped heated steering wheel, heated seats, power driver seat, and many safety features. If you buy the $35k base model, the extra $2k is well worth it.
For the $2,000 can these two option packages be added after the vehicle is built and delivered? For example, could Kelsey Storrer upgrade to a heated steering wheel and the safety features after driving the base model off the lot?
Yes, if a car like that had been on the lot I probably would have gone for it! There was just one LT on the lot and I didn't want to order because I was nervous about the incentives. Thanks so much for watching! 😃
Thats what mine has, and the dealer had it marked down $2800. After the tax credit and Bolt owner discount I got mine for $25.5k out the door. It's Summit White so it basically looks identical to the one in the video.
Great video! Thank you for going through the features included in the base model. I am eager to take advantage of the tax credit while it lasts, but I am also thinking of buying a house late next year. I’m torn on what to do! 😅
As a realtor I would tell you to go for the house and as a bonus look for one with Level 2 charging! Good luck with everything and thank you for watching! 😃
I was going to get the 2 option packages for 2000 until a dealer offered me a vehicle with the 8300 convenience package at a 4000 discount. 8300 - 4000 - 2000 (the latter is the cost of the comfort package) means it really cost me 2300. I took it because of the better seats and power liftgate. I also stacked the 7500 tax credit, 1500 conquest discount and 1000 costco discount so total savings were 14,000. I traded in a 29,000 rav4 so my out of pocket on the deal was 5200.
I believe this is a great value for the price and when you stack the incentives, it's a winner. If on GM could throw their advertisement weight behind it. Is this the new Bolt for the masses?
What a great review, I was actually thinking about a Chevy Bolt but I’m leaning toward the Equinox now. I just watched a review of a white Chevy Equinox that looks like this. I forgot the name of his channel I just call him Mr. Jeep. Thank you for sharing especially about the steering wheel, I require a leather or simulated leather steering wheel! Lol.
Lol Mr. Jeep is my husband! We both did review videos for my car. My video is way better though, right?? 🤣 Seriously though, I really did like my Bolt but I love the longer range and larger size overall of the Equinox. I'm glad you understand about the steering wheel! The leather one is so much nicer!! 😃
Lol! Of course your video was better and yes I love a leather steering wheel. In all honesty the last thing I need is another vehicle, I have far too many! That’s too funny, Mr. Jeep being your husband! Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays to you and Mr. Jeep!
That is an INCREDIBLE DEAL. Finally an amazing EV car at an amazing price. This is going to hurt their competitors!! If I was going to buy another EV it would be the Equinox hands down. Amazing deal!
Congratulations on the new car! I'm glad you got it for a good price and are liking it so far! I'm sad that tax credit will be going away soon, I'm not in a position to take advantage of it right now 😕 My friend has a Tesla with those style of door handles, and I'm not much of a fan 😅 I'm surprised you don't have a Costco membership! I don't know how big your family is, but I think it's a good deal for stocking up on essentials! Also gas, although I guess that doesn't really help you.
Thanks for the review. I have the Bolt EUV premiere which I love. Been thinking about upgrading to a longer range vehicle but I can’t do the no CarPlay or Android Auto on the newer Chevy EV’s. One question. Did the dealer add any dealer discounts? I understand the GM discounts. But maybe something else from MSRP.
Agree. It has longer range and a faster charger but for the same price the EUV came with sun roof, heated front and back seats and steering wheel and cooled front seats and wireless CarPlay
I was able to get a small amount off the MSRP. Very small though! You should be able to get something off MSRP. I also was trading which can change the numbers. Thanks so much for watching!
I might do a follow-up video because a lot of people have questions about how everything works without Android Auto/Apple Car Play. I didn't go into detail about that and I know that's really important to people. Do you have any questions or anything you would like me to cover? Thanks so much for watching! 😃
You mentioned linking the DIY video link for the steering wheel upgrade to the leather , GM one. I have the exact same car as you and am looking to make that upgrade. Thanks !
Surely someone sells a leather steering wheel wrap that you can stitch on yourself but $199 ain't a bad price for a whole new steering wheel. Good looking car at a great price.
great review, not many on the base model. Was wondering if the 2025 models in the lower end trims changed out the blue accents inside? Hard to tell the color in your video but those accents around the vents and doors and dash look gray.. or maybe it's when you get into LT2 and 3 it turns blue? Just wasn't sure if that's something they changed from 2024 to 2025s.. I'm not sure about the blue.. I think I would like it in gray better.. thx in advance! ✌️😉
@kstorrer thx for the reply.. yeah that's great that GM changed that for 2025 .. it looks so way better with the gray! Sweet looking ride for a sweet price! And that range of 319.. so dang good for that price.. thx again. 😀
That price is only about $3000 more than I paid for a '23 Bolt (though the Bolt had heated leather seats). Still, you got a much better car in terms of size, range, and charging speed. I wanted an Equinox EV but got sick of waiting and bought a Model Y instead. Still interested in the Equinox though.
@@kstorrer The car is OK. The only benefit I see to Tesla is the self-driving and the ability to locate charging when using navigation. I prefer less on-screen controls and more physical controls for things like climate and radio. The Bolt was good in that respect and, from your video, the Equinox appears to be similar.
Hi. How did your out the door price add up to just $23,433? $35290 minus $12250 = $23040. Are you saying that you had to pay just $403 for tax, title and registration?
Hi! I traded in my 2023 Bolt EUV so my trade value was deducted and sales tax was based on the remaining balance. Because it was a employee purchase there were no extra dealer fees. Sales tax was $903. I also received $500 off the sticker price. $35, 290 - $500 - $7500 - 2500 - 2250 + 903 = $23433. Trading really helps with sales tax which is why often times it's better to trade than to try to sell your car yourself. Thanks so much for watching!
I'd have to get the 4wd option just for the improved 0-60 time. Question is, can't you just link your Android phone to the in-car infotainment? What happens after the 3-year cellular package ends...what won't work? Also, as a GM shareholder, I believe I should get a discount too. 😄
We have an Android phone and the base level 2025 Equinox EV AWD. The app in the car is Android, -works essentially the same. I can't link the phone to the car, but it seems to share some things, if you login to the car with the same credentials as your phone.
@carlobasta3587 I know the vehicle infotainment is Android based, but will I, for example, be able to "project" my phone Google Maps onto the vehicle screen. In other words, what happens when the vehicle subscription ends. My guess is none of the apps work nor does linking my phone (except for maybe contacts/text/calls).
I should have showed it in the video, but yes you can simply link your phone and then it connects through Bluetooth. There are several preloaded apps in the infotainment system, but for the ones that aren't you have to use your phone to access them. I might do a follow-up video showing this so it's easier to understand. Thanks so much for watching! 😃
@kstorrer Thanks in advance. When you link your phone, see if a Google map from your phone can be shown on the infotainment display. I suspect it won't. I suspect that only your phone contacts/texts/calls will show on the vehicle display.
@davidgrisco1939 you are correct! If you click on a Google map link on your phone, it will not transfer to your infotainment screen like it would with Android Auto.
I traded in my 2023 Bolt EUV LT with 26k miles and got $18k. I would have liked more but I did get sales tax savings by trading instead of trying you sell it myself. It was a really good car, excellent condition, no issues at all. Thanks so much for watching! 😃
@@kstorrerDid you check to see what Carvana would have given you for it? I sold them my 2011 Nissan Juke and they gave me more than what others would at the time.

@ Oh good! I normally tell people to try to sell out right instead of trading but mine was a 6 speed and all my neighborhood was asking me super ridiculous offers and the dealer was offering less than KBB and I had two cars!
They didnt ditch android auto and carplay for cost ressons, they ditched it because the car has android built in. With an EV they need vehicle data to best route plan based on SoC and mi/kWh, using built in software does that, your phone doesnt. Tesla doesnt have android auto, neither does rivian. Google is apparently working on a new build of android auto that somehow will be able to pull that data from the car and integrate it but until that happens, its useless to ev people. If the internet is accurate, the EQEV technically does have android auto its just software locked so potentially if AA gets updated GM may enable it via OTA update . No idea what apple is doing on that front.
Meh. It's pretty common in EVs to use built in software as it interfaces with vehicle data. Using AA/CP means your navigation can't use SoC to route plan. I think they need to better integrate notifications but other than that, ditching car play and android auto isn't an issue.
I agree. It’s not only an issue at initial sale but I think it will be a problem when these hit the used car market, which is the only way I buy my vehicles. Hopefully some company will eventually come up with a work around, similar to the dongles which you can get for wireless CarPlay.
