- People often come to me and ask - can I have my teeth out and have implants?
Although dental implant treatment is absolutely fantastic and life changing for most people, it is important to understand that its not better than your own teeth
Imagine how fantastic it would be if our teeth would regrow were one falls. :(
that be nice...sharks get new teeth multiple times a year, no waiting for a tooth to rot.
and lizards get to regrow limbs
Vultures have bullet proof stomachs for what they eat..they never get sick
be fantastic if us humans had those abilities..we know it exist, just not in us
I don't understand why humans don't have that ability since we have it as kids. Not sure why it changes when we are adults.
They’re studying stem cells to regrow teeth but knowing the economy that kind of procedure will cost thousands

You know, when I fist heard of implants I thought they put something in your head and another tooth with grow :))
I have 6 implants. They are on the lower arch and are due to failed root canals. I have NO problems with them. Some are 15 years old. I have a good dentist and oral surgeon. They have separate offices but act as a team. NO insurance covered my work. CASH. But after a while I forgot they were in there and they feel like my original teeth. Thank you!
Never get a root canal.. it’s a waste of money

@@robertknight3542 I was there for a year. I would assistant the doctor with root canals and sometimes he would work on a tooth and the next week the tooth’s root would crack and once the root is cracked that’s it no saving it. From what I’ve seen root canals are a temporary fix. It’s expensive. A lot of teeth need a crown after a root canal.. just pay for the implant which will last. If people have implants and they fail there has to be a back story behind it.. do they have bone loss? Are they smokers? Is the Dr doing the implant experienced..
Good Lord! I've never heard a dentist who can, and is willing to, explain the pros, cons, and processes of dentistry like this guy. If only all medical professionals were like this.
Dentists are the only people in the medical field that I still trust. Oh, and vets too. Dentists didn't go into it with fantasies of some TV series. They are actually fascinated by teeth and dentistry and the scientific advances. They spend time with you. Even if you are just there for a checkup. My dentist will give a running commentary of what he sees and advise and explain fascinating things about teeth and how they work, and even, if I ask, explain his latest tools.
Compare this to GPs, staring at a computer screen for ten minutes and pushing their patients out the door with a prescription for antibiotics or a painkiller.
@@annatanneberger1 depends on individual. There are terrible dentists and great dentists - and likewise with doctors. It is clear you haven't been to a dr in a long time because they now very very rarely prescribe either antibiotics or painkillers. This is due to contributing to mrsa and other antibiotic resistant strains, they most common colds are viral, that antibiotics wipe out gut microbiome, that opiate painkillers are carefully tracked controlled substances, that those painkillers are often diverted and abused (and risks of dependency long term), etc. Lastly there are alternatives that are just as and likely more effective. So with these guidelines that have been in place last maybe 8 years or so you just don't see it like you used to at all. Prescribing as a whole is way down and many doctors are promoting healthy lifestyles.
@@SoulDelSol What you are describing is very hopeful, but describing the barn door after the horse had bolted. Last 8 years? In the mid-eighties I was working for a medical journal and subbing the last two pages, in 8pt, 3-cols of all the NEW antibiotic resistant strains detected at hospitals.
I'm 68. My mother was a nurse (war generation) my father was a mining engineer (with highest paramedic qualification). As children we were not pampered. It would never occur to me to go to a doctor, even now - I grew up with the doctor doing home visits. If you are well enough to get up, you're not sick enough for the doctor's attention. Doctor was a pillar of the community. Now it is some insecure person sitting behind a computer and prescribing whatever drugs the medical rep had recommended, to people who would have gotten better all by themselves anyway. If it is anything more complicated than that, she'll refer the patient to a specialist.
Oral surgeons and dentists rarely take insurance, so their offices operate in a WHOLLY different manner. They are not forced to meet metrics and can take as much time as necessary per patient. Their practices do not dpend on patient volume to earn income as with other primary care physicians.
@@annatanneberger1 metrics must be met that patients have NO IDEA about. That's why it seems your doctor visits are an aferthought; s/he has 20 more patients to see in any given day. Dental professionals never have this type of patient volume constraints
I have been saving for dental implants for 2 years now. Dentures are a nightmare and I feel like I’m gagging. I’ve withdrawn from society for a long time. Now with having a low immune system it’s a risk. I’ll never be able to eat normal food or live a normal life. I hate looking in the mirror. It’s a mental toll this takes. It’s been 10 years.
I understand and am at the beginning of this perilous journey too. All of these dentists are con artists and liars.

Hi Jen! I had same problem and I’m right now in Turkey and doing full mouth implants for 3 times less than in back home in USA. It is a process but so far I feel good and no matter what this guy talk about, he will never understand how we feel or felt. Everyone have different view and opinion. You can’t just stop doing things that you like or want, just because someone doesn’t. No offense to this guy, but how much does he care about you or me, or how much does he know about us! I spent hundreds of hours watching videos and talks about implants and I’ll tell you, go and follow and stick to your plan . No one is in same basket. Feel free to ask or contact me, cause I have my own experience which doesn’t mean you will have same, but I can share.
I can feel your pain I have a dentures and its depressing I cant stand it.. I cant help but to look at everyone else teeth when I talk to then and it depresses me even more..
@@azureavocado5195 Yes they are just way overpriced I am going thru a implant atm I just think every step is calculated to get the most money possible out of you.. The Bill at the end from getting my tooth pulled to dentures to implant going to cost $9k AU and its been a long process had to wait 2 months for a appointment to see the dentist who does the implant for x rays then another 2 more months until he was able to put the implant in another 2 more months for my gum to grow around the implant.... If we were not in the middle of a pandemic I would of went straight to Thailand..
I got lucky and found a teaching dentist. Got full upper and lower implants. Process sucks...took about 6 months or so for extractions, healing, upper implant, healing, lower implant healing Cost me $20k...that is about half normal cost. Including 3 sedations bone grafts and 2 temp set of dentures .
Of course your own teeth are better than implants. What he fails to mention, what do you do when your teeth need to be removed as a result of decay etc. obviously you need to replace them with either implants or dentures. I would have preferred if he talked in length about options of replacing your own teeth.
I am shocked that any person would want to get rid of good teeth. The cost is extremely high and it's painful.

Well no shit Sherlock! I just had complete upper and lower implants because genetically weak teeth (runs in family).
Getting full implants is nowhere as good as natural teeth..but sure as hell beats dentures. In 6 months I will be able to enjoy hard foods again. I have not eaten an apple in over a year. Cannot wait...but in mean time. I have a smile again, and most people have no idea.
@@305cc oh. I misunderstood, in that case. I keep seeing crazy, unnecessary plastic surgeries. Thought people were doing this intentionally.
My mother died because of gum infection caused by her full mouth of dental implants. So did another relative. Implants can be agoney, especially in older people. Please be aware of risks !
Infection will be gone so fast with ionic silver. You should look it up.

I am so sorry 4 Ur Loss Carole, Thank U 4 sharing Ur truth, I was considering two, but my husbands health has deteriorated since his teeth were pulled & he had implants on the bottom. Thanks Doc, great educational video. Just got 5 implants done in Costa Rica yesterday afternoon. And had not thought of getting information about the brand/manufacturer of the implants and that discontinuation of the line could be an issue. So now I will ask for that info.

What amazes me is that we have astronomical breakthroughs on science and medicine but yet this treatment is still so very basic and simple it hasn't even improved any maybe it has for famous people but as for the average person I guess we get the bad end of the deal no matter how much we pay
How can you say it hasn't improved? Implant companies come out with new technology every single year and it is by far the fastest advancing area of dentistry. Most surgeries are now guided, coatings and surface roughening is done with more advanced techniques, techniques to use shorter implants and implants of different shapes exist--look up some early implants, they were extremely long and in some instances were more like a flat plate that got inserted along the long part of the jaw bone or would pierce all the way through to the other side.

Thank you for being so honest!!! I've lost a few teeth and had lots of issues, lots of dentists just keep telling me to get implants but I have an immunodeficiency and am prone to infections anywhere in the body. Every extraction has even resulted in infection. I know i'm not a good candidate. One honest dentist recently said to me - I completely understand, i'll let you into a secret, i'd never have implants and for you drilling into the bone seems a bad idea. I appreciate the honesty so much and not just sell sell sell.
Drilling into the bone would obviously be a bad idea for you. For me, not so. I have not even caught covid yet. I have 5 implants. I also have natural teeth so no problem not knowing how hard I am biting something.However, I did not lose my natural teeth due to gum disease, but due to trauma.

i have had three titanium implants done at once and had the worst side effects almost immediately. I then tested for titanium ( after they were removed) and had an autoimmune and neurological sensitivity that could possibly turn fatal. I subsequently developed several auto-immune diseases although I did have hashimotos at the time. My specialist advised me never to touch anything with titanium, not even make-up. I now have 7 ceramic implants and I am super happy and healthy
Did your healthy teeth on the sides of the ceramic implants , have to be shaved off (tampered with)?

I just love watching all your videos. Because the people that put mine in are 3 hours away, one way, I try to have a short list of questions or concerns I can talk to them about. But if I forget one, I can usually find a video you’ve made that actually helps me more than if they would have answered it themselves. I’m embarrassed to say that communication is there low point medically speaking. I’m going into my 5th week post-op, I still have about 25 stitches that have not dissolved and my lower lip is totally numb. I had the All on 4 done and I am 65 with a history of epilepsy (48) years and a history of R/A and heart disease. They said my bones were too soft when they went in for surgery to wear any type of temporary dentures. Now they want to hook up the dentures they made me to my implants and wear them for at least 4 weeks. But not till March of 2022.
Question: Is this something you would do in a case like mine of what you know about it? I’ve never smoked, I’m 5’1” and weigh 152.4.
I’ve lost 15 lbs in 3 months and have another 25 lbs yet to loose to be at a good weight. Thank you for All your videos and Kindness.

Very well explained indeed ! I've just had an implant and am awaiting the tooth to be made and fitted. I've been given a kit of brushes and floss to facilitate cleaning but your video enhances what I've been told so thanks very much, most useful.
I have been in the dental field as s certified dental technician with other titles as a dental salesman for over 50 years. I loved my work, learning, and teaching great and some not-so-great technologies. This doctor is a straight shooter. My respect and hat are off to you. sir. Honest and telling the whole story. Thank you for this honest appraisal. Shock absorption of implants is a design/engineering challenge. Presumably future developments will address this problem.
Understanding this video, all implants do not have inbuilt shock absorption. Only naturals have this.

Thank you so much for your honesty and clarity. I have always thought implants are probably a lot more trouble than they are worth, I have so many friends who have had bad experiences with them... I know they work fine for some people but they are not for me unless I become rich enough to afford to maintain them properly!

Wish you were my dentist. Wonderful explanation and a confirmation as to why I would personally not opt for dental implants. I have heard about new teeth being grown in adult patients during a university study using stem cells. I would love to partake of that study.
I have noticed that medical specialists rarely talk in depth about this with patience before recommending a treatment.
And the price is their dirty little secret which they only share when they have to.

Thanks for the video. It's helpful for those who know nothing about implants. The FDA has a website warning consumers of implant risks. I got one front tooth implant and know it's mostly for vanity and secondarily for functionality. One should not think it is as good as the real healthy natural tooth.

When the ligament starts to pull away from the tooth it is very painful.

I have had a few implants with no problems. I just had two extractions and am planning to have them restored with implants but had no idea about all of the issues you so clearly raised. So much to think about! My implants are surrounded by natural teeth so I guess I can hope that the natural ones will help communicate bite pressure so I don't do undue harm to the implants. Happy about that thought. But the other four points you make are worth giving thought to. Thanks.

Good for you for discussing titanium allergy and the importance of maintaining your natural teeth. Very well done and an excellent effort to educate and improve public health overall. Autoimmune disease can be triggered by implants. If you have an autoimmune disease or have recently developed one following metal implantation (total knee replacement, for example) of any sort in your body, the metal could be the cause for the exacerbation. Find a dentist like him to help you!!
Omgoodness I believe my spirit had me see this video and now you’re comment, I’ve had this autoimmune disease going on 7yrs and a few year prior too had 11 aluminum fillings in my teeth 🦷 by a shady dentist who convinced me I had 11 cavities, and did not!!! As later realized I had no symptoms of a cavities; I just needed my teeth clean, hence why I don’t trust dentist!
i have multiple autoimmune diseases due to lupus. didnt have any metal in me until later due to cancer and lupus. i require full mouth implants due to my cancer treatments. so all my teeth have to be removed to prevent any further dangerous infections. never had a flare up due to metal inside me.
I've read that implants may not be 100% sterile & that sometimes there are tiny metal fragments that can cause problems.
Watched another UA-cam video on this problem. Poor metal etc was the older implants. Metal intolerance also can happen.
@@gregzeng I have a 22 year old "pure titanium" implant in tooth # 8 ( front ) and it is perfect. The implant was made in Switzerland and the procedure cost 10K back then. Todays Doctors are using crowns and implants made in China with "questionable cheap materials"…. Actually, the older materials were better...

Thanks , Dr. Sehmi. I appreciate your honesty. You've clarifyied my concerns regarding dental implants. Mainly bacteria and the risk of infection. After much consideration I've decided on removable dentures. Mainly because my tooth loss is concentrated in the back of my mouth and I like the idea of being able to give them a thorough cleaning. Giving me time to my focus on the teeth I have left.

@@Kriti2024 I'm embarrassed to post but here goes..I have a total of twelve missing teeth. Four in back (upper and lower) on either side... located in the back. Ironically enough...when I smile you can't see any missing teeth. All it will take is one more before it will become noticable.

In our clinic it happened that a patient is allergic to titanium, where she complained of having discomfort and inflammation around the implant area… Doctor checked and immediately removed it for her.
I've been contemplating having an implant but I'm not so sure now. Great video. Very informative and educational.
I have 1 n my upper back & have no problem. I don't eat hard foods. If ur eating bones & stuff like that, u should b fine. Reality is, if ur missing a tooth, ur teeth can start shifting & a partial can b damaging long-term. Reality is, certain circumstances will not allow 4 the saving of our natural teeth. I had an old filling from the 80s that was deep & near the nerve. The nerve split & the tooth couldn't b saved. There is no way I walking around without a tooth, even if it's n the back. I smile & laugh too much. If u floss & brush often, u should b fine. My oral surgeon is awesome.
Nothing is ever better than the real thing.

Fantastic video; thanks. I have 2 front-tooth implants from a bicycle accident in 1995. My natural teeth had cracks and lasted until about 2008. Recently (2022) one of my front teeth came loose and it was extremely difficult to remove (it was loose in the well, the bone/well joinery was just fine, with little to no bone loss). I had to go to a special dentist because my implant was german and very few dentists in San Jose had experience with the implant which was installed in San Diego. On top of that, we had to get a manufacturer specialist to come from 75 miles away to help remove the loose implant. I was very lucky and got it out with his 1st removal method. I shudder to think about the 2nd or 3rd removal methods. Just something to think about. Implants don't last forever, either.
Nobody ever told me about WHY I needed to take extra-special care of my implants (because they put my gums at greater risk of gum disease). THANK YOU !!
I need possibly the 2 front teeth replaced and I'm am absolutely terrified, I'm 33 havent seen a dentist in 12 years because I took care of my teeth. Fractured them a year ago when I fell and just barley got insurance 3 months ago, I've been so hesitant not know how to choose a dentist.
I also recently fractured a finger and it didnt heal correctly bad luck with the er and surgeon so been dealing with anxiety I dont want missing teeth in front but I'm so scared of the complications.

Going through something similar now. Had failed front root canal on front tooth. Had emergency extraction yesterday, no bone graft.
Have a couple more problem front teeth. Dentist stating removal of remaining problem teeth and bridge is best option.

peri-implantatis never knew existed, here in Miami, FL, some dentist has recommended to implant my self though, in Nova University Dental Clinic, a top, best in South, FL a Director saw me. He pretty much concurs with you too. He told me to clean with a dentist constantly to preserve my own.

How can you say he cares when people aren’t getting their teeth pulled out to have an implant instead, people get implants because there are no other options for them except for a bridge and that’s out of the question.
Dr. Please research the biocompatability testing for all commonly used dental products. The test will show allergic reactions to these materials outside of the mouth thus enabling you to choose the best materials for your patients. I had this test done by my Dentist many years ago and the results showed clearly which materials were best for me.
Typically an implant isn't for cosmetic purposes, it's usually because the tooth is already untenable and the alternative is extraction without replacement.

that is the most informative and succinct description of the caveats of having implants I have seen, thank you! Im looking into having both my lateral incisors replaced, well one is already a 25 year old national health bridge on two wings and the other I am about to have extracted due to severe bone erosion and the tooth is rotated and difficult to clean, my dentist is recommending two bridges with one wing on each onto my canine.....he did not recommend implants at all.
Very true. I lost two lower molars (the second one on each side). I got an implant on one side but have no plans to get the other side done, because like you said, they don't feel the same as real teeth. It feels like a foreign object in my jaw. It usually has a low grade inflammation in the jaw and/or gum. For instance, as I write this I can feel it throbbing slightly. This is a common occurrence in the evenings. I assume it will probably fall out at some point. I just hope the gap will heal up OK with no lasting detriment.

@@myilham81 No pain. Occasional irritation. Overall it's been OK, but I make it a point to floss and brush very well all around it every night before bed. My Mom lost one before and she thinks it was because she didn't take enough care to clean around it. They also recommend you get a professional tooth cleaning 3 times a year.
I'd still recommend you do something about the gap on the other side because it can eventually cause problems for your adjacent teeth on that side
@@floydcage2494 Yeah, they are slowly drifting apart, but it's very very slow. I'm 50 and at the current rate I'd say I'll probably be dead before it's a problem 😂
@@GenXstacker Lucky you, for me one side of my adjacent teeth started shifting noticeably in as little as 3 months, idk if it's because I chew on that side or because my jaw may not have fully developed yet but it's annoying. I should've really done my research before agreeing going through with the extraction 🤦♂️
I had a root canal that failed 😳 then I had the tooth removed and opted for implant - it’s the best thing I did - infact I wish I’d done that first instead of trying root canal . I did have a bone graft and the implant looks totally natural
I had root canal treatment for a tooth at 16. It lasted until I was 36, when the tooth snapped in half and I had to have a porcelain crown. That lasted until I was 58 when it snapped off and I had the tooth extracted. A few months later and I had an implant. I am now 62 and the tooth looks just like the original when I was 16. Moral of the story: Root canal treatment does work, but longer for some than for others. The root canal treatment is much cheaper than an implant.
@@Simonsvidsyeah, exactly. Root canals can last for decades, especially if you pop a crown on top after a while, if not immediately.
Hmmm, lost a tooth after a two-year-old root canal failed-and I thought THAT was ridiculously expensive. But, a single tooth implant is going to cost EVEN MORE????
And on top of it, implants are FRAUGHT WITH DANGER TOO???

I'm so glad you made this video to have a balanced discussion on the pros and cons I just had a moldings done for my bridge and some temporary cement placed on a tooth that had a root canal with cement joining the next tooth. Tonight a big chunk of the cement came off leaving a very sharp shard and quite a whole as they had shaped a good portion of that tooth away I pretty much only have like a fourth of that tooth. I had to take a fingernail file and file part of it down and thankfully I had some dental wax to cover it up. Monday I will have to call my dentist and see what we're going to have to do I am really hoping I don't have to spend two and a half hours in the chair again. I started searching UA-cam because I felt like that I had not really informed myself about these decisions and maybe I had made a mistake and was supposed to get an implant instead of a bridge. However the way you discussed about the tooth and the ligaments and being able to feel your teeth, how hard your biting as well as gum disease makes sense. I just don't quite understand making this temporary cement that I'm supposed to wear until my permanent bridge comes. It also was about two and a half the 3 hours in the chair getting this done I was very sore for 2 days in my neck and head and body it took a lot out of me not to mention this horrible glue that felt like it was eating away the top layer of my tongue that they said was the only kind of glue that they could use and I could taste that glue for like 2 days. I really don't want to go have to go through anything like that again I just want to have like a quick fix I don't want to have to be in the chair that long I'm 54 years old anyway I'm halfway through your video any tips or advice I would appreciate. I am very proud of my teeth (I'm 72yrs). Sadly I suffer with Lichen Planus, & I have just had a bad flare up, particularly in my mouth. Each time this flare up occurs, it has a 'shrinking' affect on my gums. I am currently on Eleuphrat cream, & I'm petrified this steroid will eventually loosen my teeth. I totally agree with you, that your own teeth are a far, far better option, however, you have to give them daily attention by, flossing, interdental brushing, & of course the final brushing.

Many years back my dentist recommended veneers and they looked great for couple of years, than tooth sensitivity started and veneers started chipping so we went to six root canals and divided ‘permanent’ bridge. Total cost over $25,000. But now the bridge is loosening and tooth decay and pain underneath. Most people have no idea what they’re in for with these procedures and it is almost impossible to find a good honest dentist who will just fill a cavity. Knowing what I now know about implants will have to rethink and look for other alternatives. Thank you again and many blessings

So sorry for you. That's a lot of pain to your bank account as well as your jaw. My second implant failed twice. Hurt like he'll when they installed it twice and removed it twice.
Your teeth started chipping so you went directly to root canals? Why are your bridging teeth together when your not missing any? That makes hygiene far more of a challenge. Flossing is an entire extra step. If your getting decay under a bridge it’s most likely because your home care has not been effective enough. Are you using a prescription strength fluoride toothpaste that is provided by your dentist? (Not an over the counter one). Why is there pain under your bridge if you’ve had root canals? Those teeth are nonvital and you should feel no pain. Sounds like you need to take some responsibility for your own dental health problems. I’d find a new dentist also.

Most people are unaware that too low levels of Vitamin D3 will wreck havic with your gums and teeth no matter how well you floss and brush your teeth. As we age we loose bone density in our facial bones. This loss causes the gums around your teeth and bridges to recede which lets bacteria in. I found that a waterpik helped me immensely in keeping my gums free of debris. I too was having pain around my bridge until I started using the waterpik. All of this I found out at age 68 and only after a dentist totally ruined my teeth. I am afraid to do any work anymore. Not to mention that I have no money. My research has found that the only way to really get your teeth clean is with a laser device and they are not used by many hygienists. You sounded pretty judgmental in your remark. Just my opinion.
@@bluewaters3100 Even something like mouth breathing at night when you aren’t even aware you are doing it in your sleep can wreck havoc on your teeth due to having a dry mouth all night.

Fascinating description about dental implants that I am sure many people did not know about. I am guessing that dentists make more money off of implants than the traditional crown/bridge, so the downsides are often not discussed or emphasized. Since my wife had a implant that failed I intend to stick with the old fashion options when it's my turn to have a tooth replaced. Because of all of the reasons you mentioned there are no guarantees with implants. Add the cost to the equation & it's almost like rolling dice on a implant's longevity.

You probably are making a wise decision. I am soon to have to get Dentures or implants. So I started researching Implants. There are millions of people that have had their lives completely changed but in a terrible way. Metal Allergies and some of the post have burs and many people have had constant infections that have destroyed the gums and bones. Many can not even work because of the constant infections and terrible pain. So do your research and ask bold questions about the problems. I believe I will go with Dentures for the money and at least once they are settled in your mouth pain is over with. I know now that they can have post installed that anchor in Dentures. I don't know how many posts they have to put in. I am going to wait and see how the Dentures fit before making that decision. I wish you the best because I know that it won't be easy no matter which way you go. God bless you!
After hours and hours researching about implants, I came upon your video. I thank you because I this point I was able to make an educated decision to NOT chose the implants. A new dentist had been pushing them on me. I've since changed dentists and all my teeth are perfect, but due to infection at the gum roots I had a massive bacterial infection. They cleaned it all up perfectly. I'm pain free and am now on a treatment plan with my own teeth.
who detected the massive bacterial infection dentist or Hygienist what method how did they know exactly some kind of test?
@@brocky78 It initially showed in blood work taken by my rheumatologist. Being that my sinuses, gums and teeth were hurting, I went to a cosmetic specialist for dental care. He took extensive films and pointed out the infection which was caused by cavities under the gum line, in between the molars. Which was cause by one of my autoimmune diseases called Sjogren's which attacks the saliva making glands. The dentist prescribed a two week treatment with Amoxicillin, repeated the blood work and the infection is gone.

@@goldseraph7051 I have Sjögren’s too and have developed gum disease. My dentist wanted to refer me to the hygienist for a deep clean but only if I had it done privately and not on the NHS. I haven’t the funds to do this at the moment so she is going to do it herself which I feel won’t be as thorough. I also don’t see the rheumatologist every six months as I used to, as it is hard to get a face to face appointment now, so I haven’t had any bloods done for a long time.

My periodontist informed me that I'm losing bone density that's why they're falling out. It's gotten to the point now that they hurt all the time. In your professional opinion should I get them all pulled? I'm 56 now and don't want to lose my teeth but it's gotten to the point that it's affecting my health. What would you suggest? I am American & don't know what is available to you in Canada. I would suggest 160 mg soy isoflavones & 2 dong quai per day to attempt to turn around the bone loss. That would work out to two 40 mg soy isoflavone pills + 1 dong quai twice a day. It will definitely prevent further bone loss. Other answer is go to an MD to get treatment for osteoporosis.

I totally agree that your natural teeth are best, however, if faced with the loss of a tooth (erosion) I opted for a implant over having a bridge that comprises the teeth on each side the lost tooth. My implants has not given me any trouble for the decade or so that I have had them!

Great information doctor my concern is that I've got 2 hip replacements and 1 knee replacement. With risk of infection from an implant which would lead to having the knee replacement removed for 6 months would you advise against it?
I worked as a pipefitter at STRYKER in Mahwah NJ. They made the hip implants on that plant. Amazing lots of Robots.

The new implants are fully healed, now the decision about what goes on them. When my time here ends I am going to ask God to Please re-design anatomy so new teeth can grow in when needed.😃

Dr Sehmi, by the age of 59 I have lost many teeth in the upper jaw due to constant inflammation caused by previous root-jobs and I've come to the point I need to decise whether to have implants or wear a denture. I am a smoker and have Type2 Diabetes. Also I have serious bone-loss in the upper area. A snap-on denture on minis would work with me or some flexible denture like Valplast or Vertex. Which one should I go for? I was looking for reviews on flexible dentures in your videos but couldn't find one.
