Excellent! You’ve made me realize what I missed when I was making coconut oil decades ago LOL I heard how to make it in one local radio station, but my problem was I can’t completely separate the oil from the curd that’s why after a day, the oil tasted rancid. I was making it to help cure my sister’s lupus. My father was also tempted to drink it but also noticed the rancid taste. I saw another method but it was with heat, it works way faster but you get less oil in comparison with this one, because heat tends to burn it, the white /clear oil will come out, but by keeping aplying heat, the oil becomes yellow, and after some time it stops being useful to cooking

Yes, I was thinking that too. It's an interesting difference to extract the oil by simple cold pressing or via milk fermentation as beautifully illustrated in this video.

How do you hate a video about making coconut oil?😩 I mean it’s just oil
There is too much of meaningless hatred in this world
There are numerous and easy ways to make oil. This is one of the tedious process, so they might have disliked it
It just says lazy, mean people hate hardwork and positive people!
😂right
Why isnt it cold.? Was there heat put to 8t?
I just try to make it and follow your step. Now I'm still at step one, freezing the coconut milk. Thank you for sharing the video. I'm excited to make VCO by myself
Update nah amen nyak.. Dot ngae mase puk... Hehe
I hope it worked out well for you!
Pleast me too i try to do the same method but when I came in the last step to separate the oil from the curd, it was difficult because the curd was not very separated with oil. Is there any other method please?
Me too
Great video ,Your way is clear and organized ,thanks a lot
Thank you for saying so, and you are very welcome!
Literally I'm surprised by this video.....its the best.......I love the serene sense with the one who makes the cold pressed coconut oil......its a piece of art....hats off👏👏......need more such videos like this.....and the surprising thing is I haven't even forwarded it not even once......💙
Thank you very much for all the kind words--it is inspiring to hear all of these things you appreciate about this video!!
I've learned from my neighboor that she use to help her mom the method of extracting coconut oil. They use it for cooking and never even buy it from any store. Every single oil was from scratched.
Now that i bought a land full of coconut tree, i will definitely try this method.
Thank you for sharing a great video.❤
Love from me, Suzie from Malaysia.
How to use the coconut flake after extraction of milk
Aloha and mahalo for teaching us how to make our own coconut oil . You can get a lot from a fresh coconut :) oil , milk, curd, cream, and water
Aloha--Yes I agree they are amazing to work with!
I loved this video, as soon as I get hands on some dry coconuts I will try it
So glad you love it! It is very satisfying to make the coconut oil this way!
Your video was awesome to watch. Thank you so much for showing us how. You must be a very patient person to do it.
Thank you! I think I am patient, but I also enjoy challenges like this so it is like a mission:)
can't tell the value of it !!!!!!!
much love and honour from Sri Lanka for sharing. .. from an island full of coconuts. ! ! but unaware of this precious process . !!
Hit the like button immediately when the music started. Great taste!!! 🙏🎶❤️❤️❤️
So glad you liked it!!
It may naturally solidify in your Climate. Here in tropical climate like India, We heat to seperate oil from curd, in one go, so its more biscuit colour and more thicker.
Yes I know what you mean. Because of the short cold days here I ran out of sunlight and put it in the refrigerator to speed up the process. . . this is "cold-pressed" so I am also avoiding using heat.
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen 😃Its worth the effort. Good job.
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen
Any idea what is the difference between cold pressed and the heating method we use in Indonesia and India,
Do you think it is the same result..I mean with regards to taste and quality.
Thanks
I understand that this method is the highest quality for flavor and heath, but not the highest yield. I have had many comments from people explaining the different processes.
Interesting! I had no idea it was made that way. That would be a nice project to get the kids involved in as well. Thank s for sharing! :D
You're welcome! yes I agree, this would be a fun kids project!
Every government should this video DVD & 100 coconuts to each citizen and tell them to extract virgin coconut oil and permission to leave home only when it matches this standard. This is the best way to do stay home stay safe to beat the COVID 19 pandemic . Jokes apart the recipe and process is very delightful. Loved it.
Thank you so much for your compliment, and the jokes. They make me smile!
So many steps, now I've learned why cold pressed virgin coconut oil is so expensive, thank you so much for sharing !👍👍💖💖
You're so welcome, and thank you for the kind words!
This was so satisfying to watch
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoy it!
I found this very therapeutic, thank you for sharing!
So glad you like it--it is actually therapeutic to make too!
Amazing Vídeo. The music is wonderful. Congrats from Brasil
So glad you appreciate all, and thank you for the kind words--especially all the way from Brasil!
Chopin
I appreciate the step by step demonstration. I normally make coconut oil by boiling. I think this is better as it retains all the nutritional value needed.
I'm glad to hear this is helpful to you, and I agree this should do a better job of retaining the nutritional value.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I love your video. I'm at the fermentation stage...I can hug you. I use coconut oil for my hair oils, cooking and baking. This will be for 'extra special circumstances and for my face and body'. I do now know however, that the 100% pure coconut oil that I buy is not actually 100% pure. Thank you for an excellent video.
W O W! That was a whole lot of work! Time & dedication! A very nice video but I can't do it!
I'm so glad you appreciate my video!
Lois Miranda yea. For once making it from scratch isn’t cheaper. Minus all the days of time and effort. It’s cheaper to just buy organic and cold pressed than to make it
Hello!!! The oil turned our fantastic, the quality of the oil is so nice and so is it penetrative power into the skin. It's not sticky at all! I fed my dog as well, she loved it💞 thank you so much for sharing once again 👍
So glad to hear your's came out well! It was a challenging technique for me to get down and it actually took me a lot of experimentation, but I am very happy with how it comes out now too!!
I’ve seen this method during early 1980’s, my oldest aunt she used to do it in a similar manner, though no refrigerator at that time for us(Maldives). She kept switching the container and removing water, I think it took her about a week to get the final oils. Thanks for the share for which I have forgotten, with a little upgrade 🙂.
You are very welcome, and thank you for sharing this story! It is very interesting to think of how people did things before refrigerators especially.
You are welcome 🙂
the process is so amazing! you're so patient
Thank you very much!! I really do think the process is an amazing transformation too.
Oh my goodness! I discovered your channel a few months ago and I know the recipes are great but your selected music is SOOO relaxing that I miss the steps and have to watch over. 😊 I love your channel. Thanks for sharing and bringing our blood pressures down. God bless!🙂❤️🙂
Wow amazing...
I really wanted to know how to make cold pressed coconut oil and it's homemade..
And i did it exactly like that.. and i made it.. worth it..
Thank you so so much for this video.
Really appriciate...👍👍😍
Yay, and thank you for the great report! It is hard to explain how satisfying it is to make this way. I'm so glad you enjoyed!
How long does it last
Can you please make a video about how to make pomegranate oil/extract without any vodka/alcohol/carrier oil is it possible?
Just pure
I love pomegranates, but I don't know about making oil from them so I'll have to look into it--thank you for the idea!
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen you are so intelligent i think you will get idea of how to make ponegranate oil.. best of luck👍😊
Girl bless your heart . Thank you for this tutorial 🙏🙌🙏🙌
You're welcome, and thank you for the kind words!!
Peaceful cuisine similarities. I like his no-talk videos too. :-)
Very interesting, I was unaware it was that simple, Thanks for posting.
You’re method is commendable this is my third I’m doing the process !
I saw another method but it was with heat, it works way faster but you get less oil in comparison with this one, because heat tends to burn it, the white /clear oil will come out, but by keeping aplying heat, the oil becomes yellow, and after some time it stops being useful to cooking
Yeah
Wow. I will some day make this oil , insha ALLAH. Thanks for sharing this process
Thank you! I do hope you try it--it is very satisfying to make!
I just want to eat the coconut as you're taking the pieces out lol
We like to eat it that way too!
Same, I was here thinking I wouldn't get much cause I would be snacking on the meat as I go.
@@NinjaToe the soft part at the very top is the best, the coconut juice just makes me feel sad

Thank you so much! I was loking for years how to make my own coconut oil and now there! I let you know when I make my own! God bless you!
I'm so glad you found it, please do let me know when you make it!
Of course! Bless
You are really a hardworking person. Thanks a lot.
Thank you, and you're welcome!
That's how we make ghee directly from milk too.
U heat it right?
@@parvathybinny8395 Iol yeah
this video is almost 10 minutes of meditation:) wow pure coconut joy!:) lovely!:)
Thank you so much!
Thank you, very informative. Love everything about the coconut.
Thank you very much, and so glad you enjoyed!!
Two things
Thanks for using Chopin nocturnes as background music. It made me continue to watch it.
Second as an aromatherapist I appreciate your efforts.
This was just amazing! The oil looks so pure. Loved the video and the music!
So glad to hear you liked all about it! It really is an amazing process, and you're right the oil did come out just as pure as the highest grade organic coconut oils I've been buying for years--in fact exactly the same.
So much of oil from.2 coconuts.amazing.
Yes more than I would have guessed -- it is actually from three coconuts though, which I got almost a pint from in all.
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen amazed, surprised, and a little jealous:) I experimented with this for a while, kept messing something up, and was overjoyed when I made my first little bit! I thought I'd gotten pretty good at this, but now that I see your video, I'm pretty sure my yield is super low compared to yours... I wonder if it's related to the maturity of the coconut... I'll keep at it! Thanks for the quality video
Can't wait to do this... Thank you
It is very satisfying and I hope you enjoy it too!
Dry coconut in sunlight, and then get oil from it by pressing, for better reference search on UA-cam South Indian coconut oil mills
Yes, I was thinking that too. It's an interesting difference to extract the oil by simple cold pressing or via milk fermentation as beautifully illustrated in this video.
This method is for virgin coconut oil. Oil extracted by drying coconut is the normal coconut oil. Virgin coconut oil has more medicinal values compared to the other one
@@bindumenon249 Virgin oil means the first, pure undiluted pass (batch/quantity) of oil extracted from the oil press. Should contain less impurities and taste better, hence the usual premium price.
Perfect quarantine project if I had some coconut!
Wow I’m definitely saving this video to my favorites. Going to try it. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful Video...Thank you very much🤗
You are welcome, and thank you!
I'm trying this today will let you guys know how it came out!
I'm glad you are going to try it and I hope it is successful for you!
Waiting for the update
How did it turn out?
@@TheShecorena it didn't turn out good I think I added to much water, and my blender started smoking so I didn't grind it long enough, my blender broke but I will try it again when I get a new one.
Bless you. I never knew this.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing new knowledge of making coconut oil. Because, i make coconut oil by boiling a coconut milk on pan 😊
you're welcome. Now you have another way to making it without boiling!
So very patient in doing this 😊
We also started last year our journey in making virgin coconut oil that's why we appreciate you making this 😊😊
Think you for this vidéo coconut oil is expinsive in morroco now i can make that on home 🙂
You're so very welcome, and I'm glad to hear from you in Morocco. I know I paid a lot for it when I lived in Spain too, but I didn't know about this technique yet!
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen 🙂🙂🙂
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen your welcome in morroco any time
Thank you so much!
You just need dry coconuts..dry it in the sun for few days and put it in squeezing machine and you get pure coconut oil
Yes you can do that, but that will not be virgin oil, this process of not using heat is different
But thats the commercial way of doing it and not a good quality
I have no squeezing machine.
Omg if I some how made coconut milk I might drink it right away before someone even get me a container...
Yes it is tempting!!
Having said so : Your "labour of love"(read plenty patience!!)
Certainly deserves due appreciation 🙏🏻
Now I know what cold compressed coconut oil is.Good work.
Thank you so much!
Thank, I have never seen this done.
You're so very welcome!
This is so interesting , a lot of time involved so I appreciate the stuff I buy now
me too--thank you!!
My Question is; WHERE CAN IGET GLASS JARS WITH GLASS LIDS LIKE THOSE? I enjoyed the video.
So glad you enjoyed the video! These are actually regular Le Parfait jars that I just removed the rubber gasket and metal ring from to cover them only loosely when the lid is on.
Buy 1 l mayonnaise in glass jars
Thrift stores, Goodwill, craft stores (Michael's or JoAnn's)
@@GourmetVegetarianKitchen How did you remove the metal rings? I really liked seeing your use of things that it is clear you have and use in a system to fit your lifestyle. First time watching your videos, and I would love to see a video on how you adapt things to your use, such as removing the wire bales from the jars or working with the water bottles in kitchen work. Very enjoyable video!
This is the healthiest extract video i seen so far
beautiful. Love your passion & hard work. We are all indebted to you for sharing real knowledge.
