  • This natural medicine, Virgin Coconut Oil has so many health benefits, I wouldn’t know where to begin.
Here is simple step by step instructions on how to create your own Virgin Coconut Oil at home.
    What’s Needed:
    5 Dried Coconuts (or more)
    Water for blending.
    * 1 1/2 cups or 350ml of coconut oil was receive from 5 large coconuts*
Remove coconut flesh from shell, rinse with water then cut into small pieces. Add coconut and water to blender and blend until smooth, or until milk is visible.
Strain milk into a bowl, then cover for overnight (12 hours) for fermentation to begin. This is when foaming occurs and cream settles at the top.
Place into freezer for 30- 45 minutes until the top layer becomes hard.
Now remove top layer from water and cook in a thick deep pot over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning, until the oil have been created and all the moisture has been dissolve.
    Allow to cool and strain.
Swallow one tsp full for all your hard work😊
    Thank you for watching.

The process upto the heating is good. However once you started to cook the coconut cream the product oil is NOT VIRGIN OIL. IT WENT THROUGH HEATING PROCESS! PURE VIRGIN OIL IS SCOOPED FROM THE FERMENTED SOLUTION AND strained and bottled. Aired out for couple days to eveporate water it may have then bottle. Pure virgin oil is colourless and bubble free. Thank for this.

When you are done filtering the cream that was separated from the water after sitting overnight, yes cook right away.
If you then allow that said cream to sit for another day, then it becomes cold press coconut oil.
Here is a video on how to extract cold press coconut oil without cooking.

    • @RacquelsCaribbeanCuisine
      @RacquelsCaribbeanCuisine  9 місяців тому

The coconut has to be dry or semi dry in order to produce coconut oil, the young ones are yet to form the nut.
When the coconut is young, the nut is more of a jelly rather than a nut.
