- This natural medicine, Virgin Coconut Oil has so many health benefits, I wouldn’t know where to begin.
Here is simple step by step instructions on how to create your own Virgin Coconut Oil at home.
What’s Needed:
5 Dried Coconuts (or more)
Water for blending.
* 1 1/2 cups or 350ml of coconut oil was receive from 5 large coconuts*
Remove coconut flesh from shell, rinse with water then cut into small pieces. Add coconut and water to blender and blend until smooth, or until milk is visible.
Strain milk into a bowl, then cover for overnight (12 hours) for fermentation to begin. This is when foaming occurs and cream settles at the top.
Place into freezer for 30- 45 minutes until the top layer becomes hard.
Now remove top layer from water and cook in a thick deep pot over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning, until the oil have been created and all the moisture has been dissolve.
Allow to cool and strain.
Swallow one tsp full for all your hard work😊
Thank you for watching.
The process upto the heating is good. However once you started to cook the coconut cream the product oil is NOT VIRGIN OIL. IT WENT THROUGH HEATING PROCESS! PURE VIRGIN OIL IS SCOOPED FROM THE FERMENTED SOLUTION AND strained and bottled. Aired out for couple days to eveporate water it may have then bottle. Pure virgin oil is colourless and bubble free. Thank for this.
I just scoop some out andset it aside them about to put d husk on d fire. The virgin one will just air out and bottle
Thank you for this video. I am in the process of making some. I’m letting it sit overnight as we speak and hopefully get some coconut oil tomorrow. I’m excited! ❤

Hi Sharon, your words are so kind 😊
Thank you, and you are most welcome ☺️
I receive 1 1/2 cups of coconut oil from 5 coconuts, or 350 ml
You Is a boss👍
😘😘
❤
Brilliant..... Straight to the point and very informative xxxx
Thank you 😊
Thank you so very much . Your videos are fantastic, so well explained and easy to follow ! I have one question , I live in the UK and it is not always easy to find fresh spinach . I know that kale may be substituted but can I use tinned callaloo with good results?
Hi Cecile, thank you 😊
Actually yes!
I have tried tinned Callaloo and I was surprised of the results. It was good but because it’s already cooked, try not to overcook
@@RacquelsCaribbeanCuisine Thank you Raquel. I can’t wait to make your delicious recipe !😋
Thank you for the video but mine did not go all the way down....maybe water was in it when I just started 😢...I only got a small amount of oil...going to do it again
Omg hello! Which part of the Caribbean are you from?
👍
Thanks so much for this video! It's perfect. Question: I know what to do with coconut water, milk, and oil, but what do you do with the leftover curd after extracting the oil from it? Does it have a use for food, fuel, etc or must it go to waste?
You are welcome Sarah 😊
But are you asking about the leftovers curd that was cooked? Or the curd that was left after skimming the Cold Press Oil ?
The curd that was left after cooking could be eaten, it very delicious 🤤
@@RacquelsCaribbeanCuisine can the milk go for another night? The water that you took the firm part from
Yes it could
Pls can I make out oil without freezing it?
Thanks so much for your explanation I will try it one more question after filtering it are we going to leave it for a day or cook it immediately thanks
When you are done filtering the cream that was separated from the water after sitting overnight, yes cook right away.
If you then allow that said cream to sit for another day, then it becomes cold press coconut oil.
Here is a video on how to extract cold press coconut oil without cooking.

Great video try to make as much food naturally as I can. Can coconut oil be made from coconuts that a young coconuts I see you used dry coconuts will it still work
The coconut has to be dry or semi dry in order to produce coconut oil, the young ones are yet to form the nut.
When the coconut is young, the nut is more of a jelly rather than a nut.
Where to store for 12 hours the fridge or container is fine ?
Just dry cocunat then put it in grinder and add needed amount of water, then filter oil after grinding in mixy.
Heating will make the oil into saturated fat wich is not good for the body.
CORRECT! ONCE heated the product is no longer VIRGIN...
Amazing!!!. Where am from it's alot of coconuts I have to try. But where do you keep the milk overnight to settle? Fridge or counter top?
Hi Monique, thanks 😊
On the counter top, in the fridge is fine as well.
Looks really good Racqs, well done. Love the color of it
Thanks T 🤗
Excellent video. Why do you use a plastic utensil to stir the hot coconut oil? That does not look safe. My mom and granny always tell me to use a wooden or stainless steel utensil.
Hi Stewy. Thank you 😊
That type of plastic was made for heat, but point taken 👍🏾
Awesome, but do you also have a recipe for cold pressed and extra virgin version?
Hi Elizabeth
Yes a video will be uploaded soon
Thanks 😊
Hi I’m just watching this video do I let sit the coconut milk outside the fridge ? For the 12 hrs ? Or so thank u
Yes outside of the fridge
@@RacquelsCaribbeanCuisine I did and it didn’t get solid, was water after even 24 hrs nothing was solid I followed every step but didn’t work for me 😥
@@m.a8194
Didn’t the milk separated itself from the water and settled to the top after sitting overnight ?
I don't have a work refrigerator, what do i do, can I continue the process without refrigeration
You sure can
VCO is cold press not heated.
Actually Rubien, cold press is called Extra Virgin Coconut oil.
Heated is called Virgin Coconut oil.
Is it warm , hot or cold water do we use in blending
Room temperature water
😮😮😮😮😧😧😧😧😯😯
What’s the point of cooking it at high heat if nothing « virgin » remains afterwards. Cant be used for cold pressed oil purposes.
Cold Press Coconut Oil
ua-cam.com/video/FOSigi1JzU0/v-deo.html

Why they call virgin coconut oil?
Ur speech alone is marketing
Aww 🥰
Explicit
Watch your hand.
What’s that Gareth?
This is not virgin coconut oil, the virgin coconut oil you have to fermented it for it to product the virgin coconut oil. Once you cooked it just a regular coconut oil...
Iam in kerala.but iam not try this until now.no1 oil
Virgin oil is never produce by heating
How is it produce please?
