George had a perfect Rockabilly voice. I wish he sang more songs in that style.
Yes...George and Carl, no longer with us...terrific memories of both...so grateful to have YT to "get back"...
You right.
He did quite a few that aren't on regular Beatles albums. Look around.
he did.
You need to watch some EARLY Beatles. They started out in the Quarry singing Rockabilly songs.
George Harrison has always been a class act.. R.I.P. George.. We sure miss you buddy....!
god yeah... pescatarian aqnointed rebel tantra yoga
George Harrison stormed up to the mic and started singing like he owned it. And he did!
George was so happy here playing music with his idol. What a blast that must have been! Love you George! ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹
George and Carl loved each other ......bless them both great musicians x
Do you think they might be having fun? Pure world-class rockabilly.
You were a world class performer George,we all miss you 😢
George is happier in this one video than in any Beatles video I've seen..
There’s one video of George w the Beatles in Sweden or somewhere and he’s got the right side mic (John’s) normal spot. He was so happy in that concert because it looked like he had the spotlight or maybe it was his song. It’s here on YT.
@@mrsbluesky8415do you know what song it was?
In the later videos, it's because he was standing next to Billy and playing his songs. George (and the others for that matter) tried their best to move on after Paul's death in 1966.
Just watching this video and thinking exactly the same as you 👍. Like a happy Robbie Williams who is glad that the back street boys are finally over and he can do his own thing.
@NaaHva haha "after pauls death in 1966" yeah okay mate, what ever you say pal. 😂😂
Some of the best Rockabilly guitar players in the world at that time on stage there... Carl Perkins, Dave Edmunds, Mickey Gee, George Harrison.
Damn good stuff
Micky and Edmunds use to frequent my house when I was a kid to see my ole man. Probably going back between 35 or 40 years now.
Never seen George look cooler or seem so confident.
Ikr
He so respected Carl and Carl loved George, plain to see !
George Harrison and Carl Perkins, a match made in rock n roll heaven
i think that was one of the most beautiful moments after his beatles time .. you can see it by his smile. miss you george ..
Don't like the music, but this is a treasured sight to beholf
This is awesome, George playing with one of his heroes.
Ah, I wish I could jam with George.
Carl playing with one of his heroes actually.
Rocks hard. Not sure I have seen George look or sound better and that band, with Perkins - oh man.
Harrison looks like like he went back twenty five years in time for this concert. NormMacDonald said he never saw a picture of George where he didn’t look haggard. He obviously never saw this concert
GREATEST music in our history. 50,60's. there is great music today, but it will never touch that era. I mean you wanted to get up and dance. George Harrison, Carl Perkins were LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dave Edmunds was okay too.
@@paulcadogan7033 oh, he was better than okay...and he even knew the bride when she used to rock and roll, too...
Throw in the 70's TOO Hammer & "WE'RE GOOD TO GO" Amigo!!.....👊🕶
@Eric Wilder SO tru. hanks for the reply.
Probably the best Beatles. If only he was allowed to share his musical wisdom. Phil C
You know what's unstopable?
George and Gretsch Guitars
This has become one of my all time favourite George moments!! :-)

Simply the BEST version ever!!!!!Love that rock a billy sound..........This song and Blue Suede Shoes are great!
Fantastic! The style and Class of George Harrison. Rockabilly voice style perfect.
2 Guys that changed the World
END OF DISCUSSION!!
You just have to love these legends doing what they love to do the most. Awesome.
George going back to his roots
Absolutely true!! When i listened to the beatles music especially the rock n roll ones...the guitar playing of mr harrison is clearly a mr perkins style in every aspect! A philippines beatle fan..
Awesome. Thank`s George, your still awesome!!!!!
Imagine if there had been a rockabilly tour "Carl Perkins with George Harrison and friends". Judging by this it would have been incredible.
A little bit of George flashing back to the Hamburg days. This rocks.
so neat to see Carl and George so happy and i guess healthy then
Always loved George’s footwork.
I never knew George was such a good rockabilly guitarist
give a listen to the early beatles albums. he was great. him john & ringo loved them some rockabilly
Great rockabilly vocalist as well
Oliver Aguilar the Best!!
Listen to more early Beatles stuff.
Oh, yeah, you can hear it in the Beatles' early version of this song!
This is the most fun I’ve ever seen George have while performing.
I can't even begin to imagine what this must've been like for George Harrison, having done this song so many times onstage with The Beatles amidst all that mania going on in the background. This surely must've been what he was searching for all those years. I'm glad he finally got the chance to realize it with one of his idols. The only other event that comes to mind is when John got the chance to play with Chuck Berry on the Mike Douglas show. It's too bad McCartney never had a play with Little Richard.
I half expected him to step back and do the Beatles bow afterwards - magical performance
Two of the most underrated musicians / guitarists in all of music history. These two were fantastic. People who don't think George was an amazing guitarist and musician are usually people who know nothing of either guitar or music generally. Carl Perkins was also routinely misjudged and underrated as a writer, a performer, a guitarist, and a musician generally.
If I understand correctly If there wasn’t a Carl Perkins there would be the music as we know of today!?
I don’t think Perkins was underrated at all. He has always been considered one of the greats
I don't believe he is underrated. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in '87, is in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and his song Blue Suede Shoes is included in The R&R Hall of Fame as one of the songs that shaped Rock and Roll.
George really enjoying himself , the smile said it all ! like when he was young in Liverpool, living in Speke dreaming about playing as good as one of his Hero's... Carl !
One of George's music hero-icons. Such a good feeling watching this. My favorite Beatle!
Hello Nadine
Love George Harrison's voice on this classic!
This is a clip from "Blue Suede Shoes: A Rockabilly Session" recorded at Limehouse Studios in London UK, October 21, 1985. It's available on DVD.
What a performance!
THANK GOD FOR CARL PERKINS,,,WHAT A PIONEER OF ROCKABILLY
George is so happy!!!!!
Absolutely f'n fantastic . I know George really dug the heck out of Carl Perkins and really had the style down with the 3 early Beatles covers
Great performance! George,Carl & even Dave Edmund's on acoustic guitar👌
Gary Moore who became friends with George Harrison said George knew every Scotty Moore's licks.(guitarist for Elvis 1954 until the Hollywood days ).
That is actually a great info and perfect explanation of why George was so good and solid on rockabilly style.
He is having way more fun playing this with Carl than with the fab four... The adrenaline rush is palpable.
Love watching GEORGE move while doing his thing!!!
WOw! You rock it George and Carl. Must have been the thrill of a lifetime for them.
We've lost so many legends 😢
Like elvis
I wish George would have toured the United States in 1987-1988, and come to Detroit!
The world needs more Rockabilly!
RIP George Harrison...
Goergeous handsome man
This whole concert is Awesome. And the best talent on earth on that stage. Love me some rocka Billy
In this video George plays with his Hero ! Rip George Rip Carl !
Never seen George smile so much. He attended Carl Perkins funeral in Jackson TN
Now that is rock n roll.
Wow this was awesome! Two legends jamming it out.
George, le plus doué des Beatles... Il avait et a toujours la classe... Cette chanson de lui est EXTRA !!!
did he ever look jollier!? Legend
The sad thing about hearing George here is that when The Beatles played Shea in '65, there is just a poor version audio, and performance was not shown. Even Ring got to be seen singing Act Naturally. Too bad there's no tape available, or I hadn't seen it.
Good stuff like this and class talented artists almost all gone. RIP y'all.
Everybody's trying to be Carl Perkins.
Everybody's trying to be George Harrison
@@sean6992 its true in the 80s and 90s - zillion records with his " patented" slide sound.
What a treat!
めちゃくちゃカッコいいですよ!ビートルズフォーセールのエンディングの曲で50年代の雰囲気出すためエコーきかせて歌うジョージのヴォーカルが昔からカッコいいと思ってました!
George, eric, are having a great time, also carl love these guys
"Rock and Roll - where have you been?"
R.I.P. Carl and George.
This is the one!! The Beatles version captured excitement. A major ingredients, yes? Thank you Carl Perkins.
I can see George really enjoying himself here r i p boss
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this, thank you!!! That had to be such a thrill for George omfg 😆😆😆 His cover of that song has also always been one of my absolute faves. Carl is a freaking legend, both are.
Wish I could have been there
Always my favorite beatle rip

@@buddyollie7400 wtf?
The great Harrisong!
😂wtf
The quiet Beatle? Sure woke up here! So many legends. God bless you George RIP.
Miss George so much
EXCELLENT MASTERS
So great!
George retuns her musical roots👍
Back to The Liverpool and Hamburg
I love this so much
The Beatles and particularly George were responsible for Carl Perkins being recognised as the great talent he was,I think Carl appreciated it
Good point. The Beatles surely raised Perkins’ profile
Thanks for posting this. It's a great video!
