Passengers texted from ferry as it was sinking

  • Text messages from passengers who were on the sinking ferry have surfaced.
A son-- thinking he might not make it-- telling his mother, that he loves her...
and another student telling his father that he cannot escape because the ship has tilted too much.
There are other rescue stories coming to light, including the rescue of a 6-year-old child.
Connie Lee has more. Text messages,... apparently from passengers,.... paint a harrowing picture of what it was like... in the moments directly after the ferry started sinking.
One trapped passenger texted his father... telling him about his current situation.
To this, the father responded... "I know help is on the way, but if possible, get outside."
To this the son texts back...
"No, Dad, I can't, the ferry is too tilted. There are no kids out in the hallways."
Another passenger... this time a son texted his mother...
"Mom, just in case I don't have another chance to say it, I love you."
The mother replied... but clearly unaware of his situation. [show text]
An exchange between two brothers... describes what had happened.
The passenger texted that the ferry hit something and stopped moving...
but reassured his older brother that a rescue team had arrived.
The older brother replied,... telling him not to panic, to stay alert... and follow directions...
    but he heard nothing more.
Meanwhile... the stories of survivors show their desperate attempts to live... with some passengers breaking through windows and jumping into the waters to be rescued.
"I just jumped into the water and started swimming. It was really cold... so I tried to swim as fast as I could..."
Stories of heroism are also surfacing...
including one, where 58-year-old ... saved 20 passengers by himself... as the ferry was sinking.
Kim reportedly tied a fire hose to curtains... and pulled nearly two dozen students from the first floor of the ship to the outside... so that rescue helicopters could reach them.
And another story of heroism... is the rescue of a 6-year-old child.
The young girl... named ... was rescued by four passengers... as you can see in this video... in the final moments.
During the disaster, she was apparently split up from her parents and brother--- who are, unfortunately, still among the hundreds... who are still missing.
    Connie Lee, Arirang News.

THEY CAN'T JUST GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE AND ESCAPE. the students in the video are lucky they jumped out on the right time because if they jumped too early, they will get hypothermia. it's cold and the waves are rough.
another reason why they listened to what the captain said is because they didn't know how bad the situation is. they literally had NO IDEA. they thought the captain knows what's best, but the captain is a selfish coward and decided to abandon the kids.

If any knew they were gonna die they would be acting much different. But they laughed and made jokes. The sad part is when the rooms slowly fill with water, only small air pockets are left where all of the students would of been scratching, biting, and dragging people down to get a last breath. Their last moments would of been attacking each other and drowning each other for the last bit of air. It would be truly terrible to have friends now attacking you out of basic instinct of survival.

300 children murdered by the corrupt adults of society who couldn't give a shit about them. the engineer, the crew, the captain, the coast guard, the air rescue team, and even the president cared more about their reputation and looks than the lives of children. The only people who cared were the civilian divers who volunteered to help search for bodies, many traumatized and one even committed suicide due to the horrors he saw. Even the vice principal killed himself, from the guilt that it was his idea to go on the field trip. All these good people gone.... while the murderers don't feel an once of remorse or shame.

The ferry should have never even left the shore. Like the titanic it was reported to not have enough lifeboats for all of its passengers. And all the members of the crew on board should be ashamed of themselves saving there lives even though there was enough time to rescue other passengers. The government also was completely messed up the US marines were also in the area willing to help with the search and rescue of the passengers but the government had refused them. Than it was left as a cold case for like 4-5 years until they brought the ship back up. All the volunteering divers that aided in the rescue were told that they had to stop diving for the passengers that might have still been onboard the sunken ship. Seriously this sort of tragedy should have been handled much better than it was.

So many people in the comments don't even realize it was an inside job. The whole thing was planned. The ship was already over weight before they put passengers on it. Also, the captain and it's crew were just puppets. They were instructed not to save them because they were a sacrifice. Even during the chatter on the comms that day between a crewman and the civilian rescuers...they told them that the cabin was empty already. And the rescuer asked him if he was sure and he said,"yes, yes.". They never intended to save them. The government even denied rescue efforts from the U.S. and Japan. Even though they were right there and willing to assist. Park Guen-hye was the president at the time and she was close with Choi Soon-sil, whose father was the leader of a shamanistic cult. He had influence over both of them. His name was Choi Tae-min. Feel free to look those names up and see for yourself.
Park didn't even respond until after it happened and later on the news said they were a "noble sacrifice". All their government was instructed to do was to send a helicopter to film the thing. You can find the video on youtube with comms from the rescuers. They were all cult members and Tae-min was considered to be like a Rasputin. The captain and crew weren't really responsible, they were simply puppets. I know it sounds crazy and I'm usually not one for conspiracy theories...but to me this one is believable. Everything seems to point at it being an inside job, influenced by cultish government officials. Park thought it would bring Tae-min back, since he basically claimed to be a God. That sacrificing a bunch of people would bring him back. Go ahead and believe the official story if you want but I've already seen and heard enough about it to know that shit doesn't add up. And now Park and Soon-sil are in prison. Part of it having to do with the discovered influence from Tae-min. There are articles and videos on here that support that theory.
Saving them was 100% possible. The only people to respond to the scene were civilians, which they can't really stop. But they did stop professionals from trying to rescue them and the navies of Japan and the U.S.. Also, very rarely does this ever happen where a captain and it's crew leave the ship first without really helping it's passengers first. You'd be hard pressed to find another incident like that in history at all. They knew good and well how many people were on the ship...and they left them and denied to the rescuers that there wasn't even anybody left in the cabins...when there were hundreds in there. If that doesn't leave you scratching your head, I don't know what will. This shit has inside job written all over it. I honestly thought so too. And by reading your comment, it really does makes sense. I've seen the video where the crew denied that there no more passengers inside the cabins. The conversation between the rescuers and crew were really messed up. They were like "Yo, act cool. The president's watching" when Park went there to "investigate" the ship. I also thought it had something a dark political motive behind it because ministers and officials were really trying so damn hard to cover something up. It was so obvious when they speak in public.

They trusted the authorities to much. Poor souls :(. We lost so many dreams.

The sad thing about this disaster is that, unlike other ship sinkings (Costa Concordia and Estonia come to mind), many of the passengers simply obeyed orders which led to their deaths. Why would the crew order passengers to stay put on a sinking vessel, when they could easily have walked out on to deck earlier and been picked up before the heavy list made any form of evacuation impossible. Why was the captain once again one of the first off, before the hundreds of others who died (even Schettino only managed to kill 30 people before escaping). This was inexcusable

So many students could have been saved. There were people there trying to help but were sent away. That captain ugh I can’t even explain it I know the families are 10x more mad at him. It makes no sense why, why. So selfish so so selfish
