You could say the inlet screens need to be inspected and the air chamber at the other end needs inspection. That tube can disconnect itself so the clamp was very good to add. The other end can have lint and debris and come disconnected as well. You can verify the level control by blowing on the tube at the chamber end. If you leave these things out, the machine can flood with a stuck control situation. That would be bad.

Toledo Tim. You are a natural in front of the camera. Great segment on overfilling. Question, I have an issue where the machine (Maytag top fill) would shut off when the tub was filled. I changed out the water level controller and the machine works fine at medium and low loads but when my wife tries to do a full load on Large or X Large setting, the machine will kick-off. If I bale some of the water out and put on spin, it will work fine. So what is the problem? Does the Robert Shaw brand controller need calibration? My wife thinks I am the Man when it comes to repairs, hate to let her down Have a solution? Signed San Diego Ralph

WARNING: I ran across another reason why your washer might overflow. Somehow my wife managed to stop the "load size" switch/knob between the medium and large loads. THIS WILL CAUSE THE SWITCH TO NOT SENSE THE WATER LEVEL. Flooded my garage (I'm a wood worker). I tried to recreate this situation, it took me approximately 10-12 times to get the switch to "hang-up" between levels. When I finally did I ran the washer and VOILA! Water wouldn't stop (I stopped it before it overflowed). So beware, it's unlikely but it CAN happen.

Excellent video and it solved my problem. I was lucky in that the air line had disconnected from the pressure switch. Thanks for posting this video.
