I love all your videos! You are truly an inspiration, and I enjoy your positive attitude. It's always a joy to see what you bring next for us. Take care.
It’s all coming along beautifully, love the new oven great handles. It is going to be lovely standing there looking out of the window at that view when it’s lowered. Your a talented lady Linda, your teacher was right you found your right path in life & you are embracing it….😊
I bet your contractors appreciate your knowledge of Constuction and design. I have learned so much by watching your step by step in your remodeling. The inn you visited was gorgeous! How do you pick a good contractor?
Well, I think sometimes most contractors wish I didn't know as much as I do LOL. I will create a video on some tips for working with and looking for contractors.
Thank you Linda for taking us along on your renovation project ! That view from your kitchen window is to die for !!! You have planned everything out so well ! Have you ever heard of a product called Regency Gold ? He works really well on antiques or new furniture, just food for thought. Have a great day !!
Hi Linda! Loved your night out with Ben at the Manor. It is unbelievably beautiful in what appears to be a remote area. Hope you will have the opportunity to explore the history there. As for your remodeling updates, they were very comprehensive and I can really see your vision. The pantry is wonderful-love the door with spices, oils, etc.- no wasted space. The French door oven is a dream especially for those of us who like to cook. I really know if I am going to like a contractor when asked for something out of the ordinary, says “let’s see if we can do that.” Of course, knowing what you want, makes a difference. Looking forward to the next segment. Thanks Linda!
Still I love your updates ever two/three days. You are amazing person. Unlimited energy and positive attitude to all delays. Good luck to finalizing great project.
Looking really amazing, you are doing so well living with all the turmoil of this renovation and not losing your mind! However, it will be worth all when done. Stay well!
The price of not following your heart is living the rest of your life wishing you had. Your designs are beautiful and your kitchen and pantry will be lovely when completed. It's so exciting.
You are so brave to stick with the beadboard behind the stove. I am a messy cook, so I would never be able to have that. It looks great. A previous kindred spirit mentioned the trash receptacle. When we remodeled our kitchen, the designer asked what was the one thing I could not live without, and number one was a pull out trash receptacle. I would never give that up, along with the garbage disposal. I just dread dealing with food waste and trash. Ours has two receptacles and we store the garbage liners in the back one. Anyway, enough about trash, your kitchen is coming along beautifully and the pantry looks wonderfully functional. Love all your choices, especially the seeded glass and the countertops. I think those are my favorites. Can't wait to see it all finished! Keep us up to date!
Hey, Linda! I know this is a very late comment, but I'm a relatively new viewer and I just wanted to say that you did a GREAT job sticking to your guns or, as you say, "digging your heels in" on the cabinet glass!! It is beautiful, light and airy. By the way...great spot on the centering of the cabinets with respect to the lights and windows...that off-center placement would have made me crazy! 🙄 Nay nay to that!! 😆 I also love the spice & preserves pantry within the butler's pantry -- great idea!!! It's the little things that make the overall project a success; and, your kitchen remodel is wonderfully successful!!! It's so beautiful, unique and functional!! I'm sorry about your rosemary topiaries. ☹ After all of your hard work and TLC. 😒 Unfortunately, plants, among other things, tend to be casualties during construction projects. I really like how you share it all -- the good and the areas that need re-working!! Thank you so much! ❤
I've always told clients, "if you want something ordinary, I can have it in a week. If you want something extraordinary, it takes time"! You're vision is coming to life the way it should!
Great saying! One of my favorites was when clients asked me “can I do better on the price?” and I would say “ of course I can always raise the price!” 🤣
Oh my goodness….the glass cabinets…amazing! The French door oven….amazing! The pantry cabinet color….also amazing! I’m sure you are anxiously waiting for everything to be finished, as are the rest of us!! I also am up and going strong (after coffee) in the wee hours of the morning….I’m able to complete many tasks while everyone else is sleeping! Looking forward to the next video….I’m sure we’ll see much progress!🦋
Yes, I am so excited! That said, I'm trying really, really hard to live in the moment during this process. I have to keep reminding myself that I will be in a new kitchen soon enough. I'm certainly looking forward to waking up and having the house back to ourselves again. We are such homebodies.
Your kitchen is coming out great. I felt very classy touring the manor because I saw the same library table I have. I bought it out of an estate in the Chicago area for $100 and it proudly sits in my stone cottage. Linda is right, pay attention in these grand homes, you can get ideas. And always buy things you love, you will find a way to work it in.
I just love New England 🇬🇧! The Manor was lovely inside. I enjoy looking at all the details myself when we go out as well. Ben's cute he just had a moment like we do. Lol He's such a gentleman and made up with opening the door for you. Wow, the kitchen and butlers pantry are looking great!👍 I've learned so much from you on all the details. It's much appreciated. The seed glass is so different and I really like it. To me, having the glass cabinets is refreshing. We had glass top cabinets years ago, but the sides were wood. This looks much better. I'm looking forward to more videos from you! You always inspire me. Thank you!
This video was very informative Linda, thank you so much! I love knowing the thought process as you’re making decisions about getting the renovations come out the way you want. I love the cabinets with that special glass too😊
Thank you Linda for the great tips on digging heels in and making sure our voices are heard when we renovate, because at the end of the day we are the ones that have to live with it right 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Linda , everything is looking sooo good. Your design is lovely and so in keeping with your home. I have a suggestion. Why not eliminate that door in the pantry. You can enjoy that brick with the shelves and all your pretty mason jars. Easy to get nice glass spice jars too. Then you can have your original idea of a chandelier. Eliminating the door will also make it feel more spacious.Just a thought.
Things are moving quickly now. Very exciting!!! It is always good to see that all your decisions and choices are coming together and you're happy. 👍. The restaurant looked amazing...no matter what season it would be beautiful. Blessings ❤️
So smart to reuse the beautiful old door - called a Christian door - the Cross at the top and the open Bible at the bottom. It is just so enjoyable to watch a work in progress. Also love the adventures you take us on around the area.
Linda, this is so exciting to see and it's not even my kitchen! I LOVE the seeded glass...that was a great idea! They're going to look beautiful when complete! I'm loving the color of the butler pantry cabinets and the layout of everything. I think it was a stellar idea to include a French door oven in the room. I can't wait to watch this continue to come together...impressive how much they've completed! Thank you so much for sharing your reno!
Dear Linda, I am in love with the glass kitchen cupboards. Thank you for sticking to your guns!!! I've not seen it done before. Everything is coming together so beautifully. Hugs 💞
Linda, love the work as it’s progressing! I am giddy with anticipation to see your vision to be completed. I myself am not a fan of lights in kitchen cabinets. That is speaking as someone who has cleaned homes for almost 20 years now. Love glass fronts and glass shelves… but lights in cabinets … a hard no. I do like them under the cabinets for countertop lighting or task lighting. Really enjoying this journey.
Looking good Linda. The pantry is really coming together now and I Iove your new oven. Can't wait to see the kitchen and pantry all finished. Jeanette, New Zealand,
I am loving this!! The glass cabinets are beautiful. Glad you stuck to what you wanted 👍🏻. I love the French door oven too 👌🏻. Also, the idea of having shelves in that door with the exposed brick…brilliant 😁. Boy, this renovation is going to be gorgeous when it’s done. 😁
Linda! It’s time for a Sugar Wood Cookbook! Your Kitchen and Pantry are going to be gorgeous. I’m so excited to see it finished. This process has been so informative and inspiring. I can not thank you enough for sharing all of this with us.
I'm a free lance MUA in Vermont and worked a wedding at the Aldworth Manor this past September. It's such a beautiful property. I worked on the bridal party in the room with all the plants. It was fantastic!
Its getting to the really exciting stage. Looking forward to seeing the cabinet hardware. One thing I forgot to do (kicking myself) was to take the make and serial number of all the built-in appliances - cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, etc etc. Its a pain if anything goes wrong when they are under manufacturer's warranty. You need these details to get replacements or repairs. Get the details before they're put into place!
I love following along! The glass cupboards are genius & will look amazing when completed! I get the “center” thing over the sink. For 10 years I have lived with a light fixture that was NOT centered over my sink (it was centered on the wall prior to the sink and cabinets were installed). It has driven me nuts every single day! I finally found a remedy: I used the existing electrical box but hung a punched tin witch hat lantern on a longer chain, centered a hook over my sink and voila! A centered light fixture! I can’t believe it took me so long to think of it! But seriously, it’s little things like that that make all the difference!❤
The excitement in your voice says it all!! My mistake was not getting a stone sample piece as large as yours....my center island top of marble and my countertop granite is a bit of a mismatch.
I'm slow, but I'm starting to see your vision. Love that fancy oven and the chimney shelves are such an unexpected surprise. Funny to see Willow keeping you on task with the treats.
I’ve been watching and enjoying seeing everything that’s being done. I will say I get anxiety though. I am the same way with seeing things and I notice if something is off. The contractors in my city will make you feel like an idiot. I always remind them that before they were hired I did say I am a perfectionist. My Parents always taught us that if you are going to do something do it right. I’m happy they work with you because that makes it so much easier especially during a remodel. So happy for you. ~ Janet 😘
We had a contractor before working with the ones we have now. I divorced him because he kept trying to make me feel small or told me what I could and could not do or use. I think he thought this was my first rodeo LOL.
The pantry looks bigger with all the new cabinets and new appliances in place..How is that possible??? Linda, you are a great designer!!! Amazing orientation.. and space saving ideas are spot on..
Such a lovely place. I’d love to visit New England some time. Both my husband and I (he has more) ancestors that came from the same area and have some of the same last names as some of the ancestors that you have mentioned. Loving the progress in your kitchen. Great video Linda. -- from SC
Thank you for all that you share. My mind is whirling with ideas. I'm looking for a cottage fixer-upper and I can't wait to find it so I can zhuzh it up but keep it comfy and cozy, taking advantage of the strength/character of the floor-plan.
Everything is coming along so nicely. I'm very excited to see it completed! I can relate about the pain med decision. While recovering from back surgery I ordered feather beds for everyone in the house! Not sure why!!! 😄
Great update video! Like Willow, my Addie has a 'good girl' cookie jar. When she goes out and comes in quickly by herself she gets two cookies but if I have to remind her to come in, she only gets one!
The manor was divine! Love all your design choices. I have a beautiful view out of my kitchen window too. Birds, trees, deer, and partial mountain views. It makes washing dishes more tolerable. I would remove the butler's pantry door and display the spices and herbs in beautiful bottles because I love the look of exposed brick. Then, the chandelier would fit.
Hi Anna, thanks for your thoughts. A few people have suggested taking the door off. Maybe down the road. I mentioned to someone else I think it would overwhelm/overstimulate me seeing all the shelves with so many little things. I did already order some matching storage jars to see which I like best, but I feel the other items, that I would seen like Kayro syrup or Molasses bottles would detract from the pretty things. Maybe down the road I will put a French door on so I can see through it.
The restaurant/ manor house is gorgeous, l can’t wait to learn more about it in future videos . It just amazes me how they moved houses around in the past… even in colonial days , but this must have been no small task . Thank you for sharing .
That manor was absolutely gorgeous Your home is coming out beautiful I love that oven , You will love those glass shelves Willow is so cute I love everything you are doing Such a beautiful video Thank you for sharing
Hello Linda, I have a china cabinet in my dining & kitchen with windows across the back of the room; you can see the daylight through the glass cabinets. I understand totally. The restaurant looked really nice. I seem to have Christmas everywhere some in house some in the garage. Christmas has not made its way to the attic yet. I am putting up Mardi Gras which is next month. I hate having things everywhere. Huge for Willow. Take care 35:35
At first, I thought you went a little crazy with the layout. What I am seeing now, is you wanted a kitchen that maximized counter space. Small appliances including the microwave will reside in the butlers pantry. You will have a large amount of storage in the spice “closet”. The stove location perplexed me until I had the epiphany of more counter space. It’s a little odd but makes sense at the same time.
We are building a home now and also did not want the microwave over the range. We do not have a butler's pantry, but we do have an arrival center with uppers and lower cabinets. I had the builder move the outlet so that I could have the microwave above the counter with a shorter upper cabinet so that we would not have a cord hanging down.
Everything is looking great! I particularly like the granite with the grey cabinets. The veining really pops! I also appreciate your tips on designing and making "adjustments" quickly. Good advice!
Willow is so precious and she has her schedule for the day ! That’s a good thing, I think I read somewhere dogs like structure. Linda I keep thinking how beautiful it will all be and we will be watching you cook for videos in that beautiful kitchen. I love small areas so I know the pantry is going to be just right. You are so calm and your voice makes me feel calm. Beautiful view from the kitchen window Love the French door oven …
Thank you! I admit, I am anxious to get back to cooking and baking. I tried creating some recipes in the dining room the other day. Let's just say It did not go so well. ;-)
Loved your latest video. I am over the hill and just living in my little cottage now, but I miss the "projects". I was never as talented as you were but I loved taking something old and making it beautiful again. So excited to see your next edition! The french door oven is over the moon!
Everything is coming along so beautifully and you explain your vision so well. I like the big door in the pantry in wood tone. The storage options in the pantry are wonderful. BTW, Willow is just the cutest!
I’ve seen several very clever step stool ideas recently. The first I saw in use was like a drawer right at floor level. The stool pulled out and opened up quickly and easily and because it was in a cubby with an actual drawer front for the top, it was totally hidden when not in use. The other was in a video. It was a thin cubby with a step stool system that slid out and allowed the step to be unfolded on either side of the center frame. It slid back into the cabinetry, out of sight when the door was closed. Just some thoughts.
In the last video, you mentioned that someone had found a tile that you liked. I, personally, would highly recommend the tile as I had painted beadboard in my former kitchen and tiny splatters of grease were not easy to remove off the satin painted beadboard. The tile in my current kitchen wipes right off!
LoL Linda I had a new kitchen installed 3 years ago and I too didnt remember some of my selections because I bumped my head and had a concussion and a blood clot butting pressure on my brain every thing with me and the kitchen turned out fine
Loving the step by step transformation. I'll be curious to hear how you like the newer version of the French oven. I'm in the market to buy one for my upcoming kitchen remodel. project.
I hope you enjoy one of my weekly videos!
I always look forward to your videos Linda.
I love all your videos! You are truly an inspiration, and I enjoy your positive attitude. It's always a joy to see what you bring next for us. Take care.
I would be interested to know a bit more of the historical background for this manor house.
This is so much fun!
Love the videos, your idea for the glass sides on your cabinets is absolutely brilliant!!
It’s all coming along beautifully, love the new oven great handles. It is going to be lovely standing there looking out of the window at that view when it’s lowered. Your a talented lady Linda, your teacher was right you found your right path in life & you are embracing it….😊
Thank you and amazing you remember my teacher's words of wisdom

I love how this is coming together! Glad Willow got to the “office!” 😅
So much fun watching this come together! Love the glass cabinets😊
Your pantry already looks fantastic. Love the beadboard and can’t wait to see the countertops. Watching your progress is so much fun!
Thanks so much! 😊
Still I love your updates ever two/three days. You are amazing person. Unlimited energy and positive attitude to all delays. Good luck to finalizing great project.
Looking really amazing, you are doing so well living with all the turmoil of this renovation and not losing your mind! However, it will be worth all when done. Stay well!

Your designs are beautiful and your kitchen and pantry will be lovely when completed. It's so exciting.
Cathy is that a well-known quote or did you come up with it, because I love it!
Wow! What a special place. Thanks for taking us along. It was beautiful.
That Manor is in our backyard, who knew!!! We will most definitely be going! Kitchen progress looking great!
Hi, We do have two pull out trash bins next to the sink. I am going to miss having a garbage disposal. We can't have one due to our septic system.
It looks wonderful!! I'm so excited for you!! I agree with you on the glass cabinets/shelves. Can't wait to see more updates!!
Hey, Linda! Wow!! That kitchen will be amazing! Lucky lady!!! 😊
That will definitely be the coolest spice cabinet ever!!! ❤
I think so too! Thank you!

Love the cabinets with the seeded glass. ❤
I really like his idea relocating the bookshelves and placement of the television.
Was this comment meant for me?
Linda thank you for taking us with you on your dinner date. That was a beautiful place. How fun!!

Dear Linda, I am in love with the glass kitchen cupboards. Thank you for sticking to your guns!!! I've not seen it done before. Everything is coming together so beautifully. Hugs 💞
I wonder about cleaning the glass sides in the future.
Wow things are really moving along ! It is so exciting to see the progress . Thanks so much for sharing .

Linda! It’s time for a Sugar Wood Cookbook! Your Kitchen and Pantry are going to be gorgeous. I’m so excited to see it finished. This process has been so informative and inspiring. I can not thank you enough for sharing all of this with us.
Great idea!! But... I burnt out my second food processor yesterday working on a new recipe. The book might have to wait! LOL
I second that!!!!

Spaces always look bigger once filled. That is one reason why Realtors like to have furniture in vacant homes.
Great video as always. The journey following along has been fun and so interesting. Thank you.
Glad you’re enjoying it!

We laughed the other day because Ben did not know why she was staring at him. His count was off. LOL Willow says hi to Addie
As usual I love everything you are doing Linda!! Thank you for sharing! ❤
Love your design ideas and the fabulous oven in your pantry. It’s certainly coming along nicely. Thanks again for sharing. 😊
Thanks for watching my shenanigans!
PS love seeing the kitchen / butlers pantry updates.
I totally agree!
That manor was absolutely gorgeous
Your home is coming out beautiful
I love that oven ,
You will love those glass shelves
Willow is so cute
I love everything you are doing
Such a beautiful video
Thank you for sharing
Thank you! 🤗
It is coming together so nicely! Excited for you and Ben!
Thanks so much!
Loving the kitchen soooo much! I can’t wait to see it completed. Love the countertop choice.
Yay! Thank you!
Love watching your videos, you always make me laugh...favorite line on this video I " short story, long".
Everything is looking great! I particularly like the granite with the grey cabinets. The veining really pops! I also appreciate your tips on designing and making "adjustments" quickly. Good advice!
Thanks so much!
I love your road trips.....New England is my bucket list
I'm enjoying watching the process. The detail to think of rattles my brain a bit! Great job!
Glad you enjoy it!
How wonderful Linda, the home is looking so great. Cant wait for the final product. God bless 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much!
Oh its going to be wonderful when it is all finished. God Bless.
I think so too! Fingers crossed.
Yay! It’s getting there!💕
I enjoy your videos so much. Your design skills are wonderful. Keep the content coming!
That view out the kitchen window, is...everything.
Love❤
You'd think it would make me enjoy washing dishes more, but that hasn't happened yet LOL
Hello! Loving your videos and enjoying watching all of your content! Thank you for all you do!
Thank you so much for watching!
Everything is coming together, neat to watch and see the transition. Really enjoying this.
Thank you Tammy!
Wow!! Looking beautiful...you need to include in a video on all the things that oven will do
Linda, I love your honest narrating😂! I keep coming back for more! Stay authentic.
Thank you for letting me know that!
Looking fabulous! Love everything going on in the pantry.....and the counter top selection!
Thank you!
Let's just say It did not go so well. ;-)
Ahhhhhhh - I’m getting soooooo excited 😊
Thank you for your update. It's going to perfect. I can hardly wait!
You're welcome!
Loved your latest video. I am over the hill and just living in my little cottage now, but I miss the "projects". I was never as talented as you were but I loved taking something old and making it beautiful again. So excited to see your next edition! The french door oven is over the moon!
I'm so glad you are enjoying the process along with us!
Everything is coming along so beautifully and you explain your vision so well. I like the big door in the pantry in wood tone. The storage options in the pantry are wonderful. BTW, Willow is just the cutest!
Thank you so much 😊
Really enjoy watching your kitchen come together! So jealous, wish I could've spent more time when we re-did ours.
It's too late for me now.
LoL Linda I had a new kitchen installed 3 years ago and I too didnt remember some of my selections because I bumped my head and had a concussion and a blood clot butting pressure on my brain every thing with me and the kitchen turned out fine
Oh no! I'm glad you're fine now. I had a brain injury in 2010 that was life changing so I totally understand.
Loving the step by step transformation. I'll be curious to hear how you like the newer version of the French oven. I'm in the market to buy one for my upcoming kitchen remodel. project.
I might give it a test drive this weekend. I'm not sure if I will bake or cook, but I think I must give it a try!
