Hi everyone, thanks for watching my IKEA Kitchen video. This is my 4th IKEA kitchen and I have loved all of them. I have installed all of them myself and still have never had to make a warranty claim for any reason. They are an amazing product at an entry point price. Let me know in the comments below how you feel about IKEA kitchens. - Joey Troxel.
I am sold!!! I want one so bad! I live in a mobile home and I hate the drawer space and lack of storage that is actually useable. I am mapping out the kitchen now and will be purchasing 2-4 cabinets every 2 weeks until I get my whole kitchen. Thanks for sharing!
Assume you always use Metod? wondering how durable the cabinet & counter top particulary on the sink mount area against water/moist (where we must cut a hole, expose the particle board counter top) and against the heat where we again cut a hole and mount a built in hob from your experience? I asked ikea employee, she said there is never a warranty for water and heat damage.
@@tn9274 I have never used Metod. It is always Section. Those are the standard kitchen boxes and I just installed my 5th kitchen last weekend with them. So far, no issues. I’ve had a lot of IKEA pieces over the years and most of them are still with me. I’m 70 now so they’ve lasted a long time. You may have talked me into getting an IKEA kitchen if in the next year I decide that I will replace my kitchen. But you’ve convinced me that it would be worth it even to have it installed by a contractor Because you’re telling me that at Home Depot or Lowe’s it would be double the price to purchase the same cabinets and I would still have to pay to have them be installed, which means to me that in the end, buying IKEA cabinets and having them installed will still be cheaper by several thousand dollars then purchasing particleboard cabinets from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Your kitchen looks very nice at almost 60. I hope you found the home you wanna live in and you don’t have to do any more kitchens. All I can say is if you don’t wanna spend the money again look after the things you have, it’s always worked for me. Very interesting video lots of great advice. Thanks a lot.
I bought an ikea kitchen because it was affordable we were going to have it installed. It became difficult to get a contractor, so I started it myself. It was as simple as putting together bookshelves. The rail system made it so easy and you could adjust the spacing as you go. I did it almost completely on my on. I waiting until hubby came home to help lift the two biggest upper cabinets (over the fridge and the corner one). Loved the whole process. Totally going to install an ikea kitchen in the next house. We've had an IKEA kitchen for 5 years. We love it. When we had our floors installed after the kitchen was put in, the flooring folks actually thought the cabinets were from a high end Italian manufacturer! We used the kitchen designer and had one cabinet that had to be cut and customized because we have structural beams in our mid-century modern home - but it looks fabulous. I am an avid cook and award winning baker. Love it!
I love an IKEA kitchen but the contractors I contacted in my area refused to build them….they said they were way too complicated. It says more about them than IKEA 😂😂😂
same here, I am afraid to take on such a huge project so I started to look for contractors and realised that their biggest source of income comes from carpentry so they wouldn't want to just provide handyman jobs.
#16 that I didn’t hear you mention, which is #1 for me, is the quality of their hardware and full extension drawer slides. You did mention soft close, but it’s the smoothness of operation and strength that I love. #17 is that you can get 15” Base cabinets as well for spots that are tight and they even offer DRAWERS for the 15” bases! I currently just have a couple of IKEA hacks in a non-IKEA kitchen, but am hoping to remodel to IKEA at some point in the near future.
This has to be the best and most in depth Ikea kitchen review I've found on UA-cam. Thank you. I'm in a rental, but my landlord is pretty flexible, and I'm thinking of redoing the kitchen and feel like a ikea has the best pricing. Now I'm more motivated to do the planning on the website so I can lock in the pricing, etc. Thank you!
You are right about Home Depot, they quoted us $15,000 just for the cabinets, and another $10,000 to 12,000 for installation. So we will try Ikea planer and see where we wine up.
@@sparky2390The results are more than fine. I assume people who have doubts about Ikea kitchens have never seen one in real life. I don’t know otherwise why one would think a baseline Home depot kitchen would be any better - it’s not. I would choose the Ikea any day. Unfortunately we’re going again with a white kitchen but they have some very nice looking kitchens in other finishes - they look great in their showrooms.
Can confirm all of this. I've done two Ikea kitchens. My 1st kitchen was in an older condo built 1968 so the cabinet rail system is a life saver. My 2nd Ikea kitchen was a bit easier. The Ikea customization is insane. I have a chef's kitchen, basically and amazingly, for under $5,000 DIY, self install. Appliances not included. The drawer and cabinet panels will set you back as they can up the cost.
I'm remodeling my kitchen and I am very familiar with particle board cabinets and the new stuff from HD and Lowes are ultimate crap. I'm trying to cut cost every way I can even considering used cabinets. After looking at this video I now have another avenue. I don't like particleboard but if Ikea is giving you 25 years if anything happens that sold me. You have brought out so many pluses I am checking it out the first chance I get. Thank you for the info and this will help me immensely to afford my new kitchen.
I re-did my kitchen from the rafters up and used IKEA cabinets, etc. it looks far better than I expected it would and everything has held up for 15 years. Still looks new.
Thanks for the video. My wife and I were worried that it was going to take a long time getting the kitchen delivered. We were considering the fact that we were just coming out of the pandemic and my brother-in-law was getting a kitchen from the box store and it would take three months. Well IKEA delivered within seven days for 129.00 dollars. We live two hours away too. All fantastic service and affordability.
Yes, a lot of what you mentioned is the reason I went with Ikea. The big reason for me was 12 inch cabinets compared to 15 inches, which was the biggest factor. The only thing I felt that Lowes and Home Depot had over Ikea is that their cabinets are pre assembled, but assembling the Ikea cabinets is well worth all the benefits and savings.
I am 69 and won't be installing myself but I plan to put in an Ikea kitchen. Material without countertops is just over $9000 cad. I will hire one of their recommended installers and I think all in my kitchen will be about $25k including appliances.
After 7 yrs the doors were completely in damage mode. Paint stripping off. When I rang Ikea they said that kitchen date was bad quality and they were happy to refund me the quote I received to resurface them as they didn’t have the sizes anymore to change over.
Ikea is always trend forward. Custom cabinetry moved to 15” deep uppers about 15 years ago, Ikea moved to that standard about 10 years ago. Other box stores don’t offer it to this day. It’s true, the increased upper size allows for more cans, glasses, appliances and platters.
I'm newer to your other channel, so I didn't know it was an ikea kitchen. I believe we have the same Ikea kitchen cabinets. I was looking at your kitchen thinking it was custom, even though we basically have the same kitchen. My first house was Lowes cabinets. The shelves buckled with the weight of my plates... I have more dinner ware now, and they don't budge with the Ikea kitchen. We have done 2 ikea kitchens now.I love them! I would do it again in the next house.
Oh my gosh when you said about the cabinet depths being 15" and that Lowes, Home Depot cabinet's being 12 - 13" I said YES!! My old kitchen cabinets - 1980 - are 12" deep. And my plates just fit - but not the platter, I had to find a new home for that. I guess that's from back in the day when dishes were smaller. I was quite happy to find out IKEA's cabinets are 15" deep. Looking forward to ordering and getting my IKEA kitchen!
Unfortunately people think Ikea kitchen is made of bad material but it's actually made of the same material as standard home depot/ Lowes kitchen cabinets. What has given Ikea kitchen a bad name is installation issues. You have to install it correctly or it can fail. We've had out kitchen for 4 years and it's so sturdy and I love all the organization modifications I have been able to do. Plus I have been able to change things that didn't work for us as we need it. Things that are not customizable with the other brands in such accessible and affordable way. Will recommend in a heartbeat.
Our kitchen is an Ikea kitchen. Pretty good so far, service excellent, pick up, and deliveries were all great. One thing is that I would not buy their laminate "marble look" counter again. You have to be super careful and treat it with kid gloves. Really happy overall...9 out of 10.
I am just finishing my own first IKEA kitchen (small project, 4 upper + lower cabinets in a row) and surely, by the youtube algorithm I arrived here. What urged me to write a line or two is your wonderful reasoning and how you summed up what I felt but was not really aware, even in the finishing process right now. What I can confirm, and is really important when I do my DIY projects is that this is like putting together a simple, basic puzzle with everything included, except for the rare special tools (like laser balance etc.). And yes, the rails are a charm to work with 🥰
I’m installing my fourth kitchen right now. The last two are from IKEA and I agree that the ease and price is unmatched by the first two I’ve installed. I also built benches and cabinets for my workshop from IKEA kitchen cabinets. What we have choosen t🎉o do is to buy the counter top boards from a different place in order to get the quality feeling improved since IKEA do not offer solid stone or wood boards. One thing though, the new kitchen planner tool is much worse than the old one that they changed about a year ago. I’m a bit disappointed that they changed. Was a bit of a struggle when planning this last kitchen.
We’ve created 2 full ikea kitchens and a full wall of upper and lower cabinets in a dining room. I love them, just like you, it’s enjoy the whole process, from designing to the final touches. You get high quality for a fraction of the price of other kitchens.
I was going to order custom but they projected 12 weeks to get them and then I'd have to accept them within a 7 day window of their choosing. I like the idea of being able to get the cabinets very close to when my contractor is available (true: I'm not handy enough to do this myself :-) Thanks for all this encouraging info !!
I love the IKEA cabinets. We did my entire walk-in closet, and it came out beautiful! Yes, we did the order, paid for delivery, and they brought all these boxes into a corner in our living room. We installed it ourselves. We are now looking to remodel a kitchen with all IKEA cabinets. Your kitchen looks fantastic!! I love it!!
I refinished our 4 years ago during Covid. It took them awhile to reopen. In that time I redesigned the kitchen many times. I pretty much know where everything was going in it. My husband keeps his office there too. I took over some of the part he used to have. But he still has more space than he did before because he had overhead storage now. Also, when building an island you can use uppers to save space.
Okay, I've bee in my home for 12 years with cabinetry that I HATE. You've talked me into an IKEA kitchen. I'm a DIY'r so I can don't just myself. And I soooo want large drawers on my base cabinets and NO MORE DOORS. LOL. Thanks for the video! 💚
I'm happy to hear about your positive experience with IKEA kitchens. I watch a lot of tv makeover shows and am often shocked at the cost of the kitchen because they went the "custom" route. This makes no sense because often the kitchen is open to the main room and there are no walls to consider when laying out the kitchen.
Thank you for this. Just bought a home and have to redo the kitchen. I now am very confident with the choice of choosing Ikea. Again thank you. Just subscribed
Never again! We placed a $5,000 order at the Ikea in New Haven CT and they screwed it all up. As soon as we paid we were told half the cabinets and other parts were not available. A month later and we received 3 deliveries (which we had to pay each time). The last one came today and we were missing 15 items out of over 100. Driver would not take responsibility. Ikea customer service crated a list for us to go to another state (NJ) to pick them up. Got their (2.5 hours away) and they said they did not know what we were talking about. Tried calling the service number and they put us on hold several times, then hung up. NEVER AGAIN!
I just had quartz countertops installed over my 45 year old cabinets…no problems and look beautiful. When picking the quartz the salesperson asked if we had IKEA cabinets. Nope. Reason she asked was that their company requires IKEA cabinets reinforced to hold up the quartz countertops (not sturdy enough on their own).
I would never buy ikea kitchen cabinets…after having bought a coffee table with a shelf under that bowed within months from the weight of a few books! I have bought some of their cheap end tables when my kids took them to college apartments…. I consider them throw aways like paper plates!
@@jrbluat Absolutely. I too owned multiple IKEA products and speaking from experience. I'm not too rich to buy IKEA again. It's a complete waste of money.
i have quartz countertops on top of ikea cabinets and my kitchen is 10 yrs old. this is the first time i hear about them not being sturdy enough. everything is still looking like new btw ;)
For best quality (plywood, not the particleboard crap) and best price - DIY. You have to pay for the tools (track saw, clamps, edgebanding, paint sprayer) but the tool cost is amortized over *other* projects you will save money on (office desks/bedroom cabinets/livingroom console media). If you work diligently, by yourself, ~8 hrs in the afternoon after work, you can build all your kitchen cabinets in 14 days +/- 3 days to finish, +/- 3 days to install. With another person (your SO), you can probably knock it out in 70% of the time.
Hello Joey, Thank you very much for this informative video. Yes, in general I agree with you but I missed an important "disclaimer". To build your own kitchen needs time, the right and proper tools and, the most important, the joy and talent to do DIY. Here is is my experience: I have the skills and tools but not the time. In our case, the appartment of my daughter is about 450 km (ca. 280 m) away from my home in a different country. We have considered the DIY option but we decided to order the installtion service together with the kitchen. One draw back was, the installation team was very busy and that caused a delay of 6 weeks. Then within 2 days the kitchen was installed perfectly. Two (2) guys assembled the cabinets, drawers and doors etc. with the proper tools and experience. The water and the drain connection they skipped due to lack of experience - that was the only disappointment of the service. This shows it is possible to do DIY but the amount of time is to considered. So, each choice has its positive and negative side. If the installation team noticed a part is missing or damaged, it can happen, they have a special service within IKEA to get the missing parts or replacements quickly. As a DIY we have to find out the part no and travel to the next IKEA store etc.etc. My conclusion - if time and health is not an issue, I will do it next time on my own. Yes, the mounting rail - this is an excellent product and simplifies the installation and is time saver- Important is the proper installation because it carries your kitchen. There are some excellent youTube films for the proper installation and considerations. For assembling the IKEA kitchen there are some excellent youTube films available and recommended to see. Have a good time and stay save. Andreas
This was a very very great video ! :) I love how at ease you are with the camera, the pace is good, the video is organize with the clear points and titles, and of course the content is awesome. Thanks ! :)))
I'll NEVER understand people downing IKEA products for being particle board or pressed wood when that's literally what your houses are built out of....
That is so true. When i got the estimate from HD and Lowes, the cabinets alone were 14k, install was another 8k and it was made of the exact same materials.
Their quality has been going down over the years/reducing options, unfortunately. The first IKEA kitchen I did for myself they were giving you the option of having solid wood doors/fronts. I'm doing another one right now and you don't get those anymore, it's only particle board. I'm not saying their competition is any better, but back in the day when they were offering solid wood fronts, that was a very competitive price for the higher quality items.
Thanks. My building designer has an Ikea kitchen and recommended them, although I was skeptical because there are no Ikea stores in my state. He then told me how cheap it was to have it shipped across Bass Strait. Your video just sold me on the idea.
He and I are the same person on reason 10 - clean and organized! “My family don’t clean up after themselves “ 😂 you and me both brother! I’m also OCD and love to clean!❤
Thank you...wanted to redo my kitchen but was flabbergasted at the cost from HD and decided to wait but now with ikea it just might be doable on a budget!
Question: Do they offer upper cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling? One thing I hate is having that empty space there that could be used as storage instead. Especially when my house doesn’t have enough storage for all my kitchen appliances.
We purchased a home that has Ikea kitchen cabinets, and, quite honestly, I didn't like them. They were white with bead board look to them. And, I found them difficult to keep clean, even though they had foil-wrapped door fronts, over the years, they yellowed. If water sits on them, the foil lifts and separates. I had water run down and sit on the top edge of the door without knowing it, and when I went to wipe the water later, the foil lifted off. Not impressed. I have carpentry skills, I think when we renovate, I'll build my own wood cabinets. Appreciate your video on Ikea Kitchen Cabinets, they are just not for me, from my experience with them. I hope this gives your viewers another point of view.
If I may ask, how long was the water on the door? I really want to know because I’m thinking about an IKEA kitchen and, in my mind, this would happen to me.
Something my mama always says is “never put white cabinets in a kitchen”. Unless you clean (not wipe down, use a cleaner) your cabinets once a week, white cabinets will need replacing (or refinishing/repainting). The heat and oils sit on our cabinets and build up and destroy the paint. And white seems to be the most affected. My sister had white cabinets, loved the white when she bought her house and by the time she looking for a new house white was a deal breaker lol. And now her cabinets are black (and are IKEA cabinets) and she loves them.
my brother is a contractor. He has built his own homes and has always installed Ikea kitchens! He says they are very well built. I am having my kitchen done, and he is installing an Ikea kitchen in mine.
I have built all my Ikea cabinets I can't wait to finish the kitchen to install the cabinets. I'm very excited. I think Ikea any storage system are very well made.
Thank you for this video. I have been contemplating an IKEA kitchen and you have convinced me. Mostly for the cost, but also for the ease of installation, which was what was really causing me to over think everything.
I have done two custom kitchens and they were awesome. The tongue and grove wood cabinet builds are fabulous. My third kitchen I had an ikea kitchen and I decided to upgrade the cabinets instead of replacing them. The metal sliding drawers are very sturdy and the upgraded stuff to put in the drawers are nice. I am working on my forth kitchen now, but I don't know if particle board will be good in high humidity. I must say the ikea store has some great options.
Thank you for making this video. We are in the process of designing our new home and I am struggling with spending a small fortune on kitchen cabinets that do not have all the organization of Ikea cabinets. Wood snobs are going to turn their nose up at 'particle board' cabinets, but I love the standard design features you mentioned. It will be very difficult to convince my husband that we don't need to spend $50K to have a nice kitchen so I will show him your video. Wish me luck.
I’ve done a kitchen, 2 laundry rooms and used them on my covered outside patio - the cabinets are great! Get your countertops and faucet elsewhere for a better finishing touch.
Our old cabinets are particle board. They're ugly orange oak but the particle board has held up fine for 30 years. I wouldn't hesitate to use that material.
Think I'm leaning this way myself. I would prefer to have 3/4 plywood, but what gets me is the storage solutions, the full slide drawers, the lighting, etc. When I go to kitchen stores and look at wood cabinets, I don't even see these as available options.
Thank so much for this informative video. We have gone the ‘big box’ route when remodeling our current kitchen 14 years ago and it cost a fortune. We are planning to move in the next year or so to a fixer upper and will definitely consider an IKEA kitchen.
The particle board does not hold up over time. I have an IKEA kitchen going on Ten years old and it is definitely showing wear, however it is hard to argue the price
I got an Ikea kitchen when they were discontinuing the Akrum line. It was 30% off, which was great. I was told I'd be able to get replacement parts. My dog chewed a lower cabinet drawer front. I could not get a replacement, just a few months after. Eventually, I sanded the chewed area down and got a finish that matched. Other than that, I'm very happy with the kitchen. I did have a contractor install it because I needed to have the ceiling raised and a wall extended and the co-op board wants things like that done by licensed and insured contractors. I would do an Ikea kitchen again.
You're absolutely right! I am remodeling my kitchen and IKEA kitchen is the best move I have made. You just need to find time and patience. Kudos for their modular design They have thought everything for consumer need. I only watch your clip too late to make decisions and still I myself end up going for Ikea for the exact same reasons you mentioned. Kitchen planner is a must to preview what will be your future kitchen when it comes to life.
Fantastic presentation of very helpful detailed and practical info. I am shocked that you don’t have more subscribers. You are one of the best presenters I have seen on UA-cam and I watch tons of how to videos on a wide range of subjects. Thanks. I look forward to more videos.
Where I live, we have brick walls and it was be much harder to install. So IKEA has a partner that installs for a very reasonable fee. And hey, they warranty makes them the king of kitchen cabinets. So in my country, they position themselves differently.
I moved my sink over, to avoid having the middle bar of the window in the middle of my sight line. It turned out great, I look out one unobstructed side while doing dishes, and I look out the other side while prepping meals. I don’t even notice the middle bar anymore.
Thanks for the concise review. It was very informative and has confirmed what I have heard from others. The people I have known over the years that have bought fully custom kitchens and cabinets sounded more like they wanted the bragging rights to how much they had spent. And as we all know, more money spent on a kitchen means you are higher in social status.🙃
I've been going back and forth on IKEA kitchen for about a year now (my home still doesn't have a kitchen 😂). What I'm most worried of is the country I'm living in is so humid. Worried the cabinets might not withstand the humidity. Also worried about cockroaches ugh. You somehow convinced me to about 65%, now I just need the 35% to seal the deal 😂
I've had my Ikea kitchen for almost 10 years now. It is from the "pre-rail" era, i.e. my first-time-DIY-kitchen-installer hubby had to use a spirit level and a drill when hanging the top cabinets on to brick walls. I live in Ireland, that soggy island on the other side of the Atlantic ocean. I might as well be living on a wet sponge as far as humidity goes. So don't worry about humidity. MY WHITE IKEA KITCHEN IS STILL ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! 👌 I still love it. 👍 ♥ 😍💕♥️💓💖🌟 P. S. We don't have cockroaches here ... but I don't imagine they'd fancy eating man-made "wood" so you're good to go. 👍
We have the same style of kitchen except for the refrigerator. We are on going for installing our kitchen these days. It’s ikea too, and the good thing about ikea is you can exchange the materials if you already open the box or give it back to them and they will refund if the box is still intact. We have some changes so we give it back the rest of material and they will refund us. It’s 1 year return policy you can exchange as long as it’s not yet use. For the delivery we paid 119€
Me too. My kitchen is old and outdated, but it’s real wood. Made from plywood, but still real wood. I’m wrestling with whether to try and repair and paint the old cabinets or go with newer particle board cabinets.
Thanks Joey - really helpful video. Can I ask you - did you get your appliances from Ikea too? What are your thoughts on their appliaces? Currently I'm feeling like it makes a lot of sense to get their appliances too because they all have a 5 year warranty and better to have everything from one supplier. Would love to hear your thoughts.
My house is from 1957 and I don't think the kitchen has been touched since the house was built. The kitchen is in DIRE need of updating; gross pale yellow linoleum floor, pink laminate countertop, pink tile backsplash, ugly cabinets with the white MDF faces and wood trim handles running along the width of the bottom. I was always put off by the cost and labor involved, but you dropping this knowledge about the IKEA kitchens finally gives me a viable option.
Drop one of those doors on the floor and count the pieces. This is in no way "strong" furniture. I used to make particle board furniture at the Sauder Mfg plant. It all looks good until you use it. And drop particle board from about 5 feet, even if it lands mostly flat is breaks. This means it is the opposite of strong. If they ran real wood through their machines the price would be the same as real wood and it wouldn't have white paper glued to the surfaces as its "finish". I'm currently removing particle board cabinets (well, actually I'm done) it took about 1/2 hour to remove and took no tools. I could just pull it off the wall because it took only a slight effort to yank them down by hand.

Thank you for the info and this will help me immensely to afford my new kitchen.
they are also very cheap to replace, sub $100 for the cabinet frame
I re-did my kitchen from the rafters up and used IKEA cabinets, etc. it looks far better than I expected it would and everything has held up for 15 years. Still looks new.
I went with ikea Metod cabinets for my laundry makeover. No regrets, great price, simple system and the rail makes it easy to hang wall cabinets.
That is awesome!
We love our Ikea kitchen. We hired a contractor and redid the whole kitchen. They did a great job and it was done in a timely fashion. 🇨🇦
How much do you save?
Oh cool!
I agree because I worked for that company for 17 years, and they have the best affordable stuff 🥰
IKEA is very expensive considering the short lifespan of products and the cheap quality. Did they jab you in order to keep your job?
Oh my gosh when you said about the cabinet depths being 15" and that Lowes, Home Depot cabinet's being 12 - 13" I said YES!! My old kitchen cabinets - 1980 - are 12" deep. And my plates just fit - but not the platter, I had to find a new home for that. I guess that's from back in the day when dishes were smaller. I was quite happy to find out IKEA's cabinets are 15" deep. Looking forward to ordering and getting my IKEA kitchen!
Boy I wish they still had the same kitchen planner software. Its been a struggle, I can't even get the space drawn out : (
Unfortunately people think Ikea kitchen is made of bad material but it's actually made of the same material as standard home depot/ Lowes kitchen cabinets.
Really happy overall...9 out of 10.
are they water resistant too?
@@fredrezfield1629 As far as water issues with the counters, there hasn't been any problem. Hope that helps.
I'm just starting to build my kitchen today. So far it's been super easy building the cabinets
I wish you were living in Tx to help me out with my future kitchen
I'm happy to hear about your positive experience with IKEA kitchens. I watch a lot of tv makeover shows and am often shocked at the cost of the kitchen because they went the "custom" route. This makes no sense because often the kitchen is open to the main room and there are no walls to consider when laying out the kitchen.
Best IKEA review! I’m closing on a home in March and was hesitant to renovate my kitchen using IKEA products. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with IKEA.
I’m in a process of preparing for a Buttler room . Your feedback is very encouraging. Thanks
Thank you. I'm shocked at how clueless most people are. IKEA is rubbish.
Great review! I've been dreading all the comps, etc, but this moves Ikea to the top. I'm excited. Thank you!
I chose Ikea as well and your video confirms I made the right choice.
Hello Joey,
Thank you very much for this informative video.
Yes, in general I agree with you but I missed an important "disclaimer".
To build your own kitchen needs time, the right and proper tools and, the most important, the joy and talent to do DIY.
Here is is my experience:
I have the skills and tools but not the time.
Thanks ! :)))
Love it , Ikea it is for my new home kitchen cabinets add in’s , and correction your not cheap sir your just shopping and working smart , kudos to you
I'll NEVER understand people downing IKEA products for being particle board or pressed wood when that's literally what your houses are built out of....
That is so true. When i got the estimate from HD and Lowes, the cabinets alone were 14k, install was another 8k and it was made of the exact same materials.
@@DIYProjectGuys
Without the warranty
IKEA CABINETS are great and sturdy, plus the cabinets have a 25 yr Warranty. No other cabinets in the USA offers that. Enuf said!
Houses are not made from particle board. Jesus Christ.
Why didn’t you take the cabinets to the ceiling?
Exactly my thoughts.
Has anyone used Task Rabbit for their kitchen cabinet installation?
my brother is a contractor.
I love anything DIY so IKEA is a perfect match for me. Thanks so much for watching.
Thank you for this video. I have been contemplating an IKEA kitchen and you have convinced me. Mostly for the cost, but also for the ease of installation, which was what was really causing me to over think everything.
I went to ikea and I saw my dream kitchen!!! Im getting my gabinete from ikea.
I just built my Ikea kitchen. I love it!
Home Depot cabinets are solid wood. These are HPL - high pressure laminate. It’s not the “exact same thing”. The material is night and day.
Had an IKEA kitchen for 20 years - still going strong - thinking about replacing with…. another Ikea kitchen 😂
You were the reason I chose to go with IKEA. Thank you so much for this amazing review!
Love your kitchen. HATE my IKEA bed. Wish I turned it in the first year.
That kitchen planner looks awesome. I could have a lot of fun with that.
your video is the reason why I even considered an IKEA kitchen. I always had an impression that IKEA kitchens wouldn't last.
Wow! Great presentation! I am so inspired. I can do this! Thank you.
Thank you for this. In the process of planning the kitchen for our farmhouse. Going Ikea. 😊
You're absolutely right!
I am remodeling my kitchen and IKEA kitchen is the best move I have made.
You just need to find time and patience.
Kudos for their modular design
They have thought everything for consumer need.
I only watch your clip too late to make decisions and still I myself end up going for Ikea for the exact same reasons you mentioned.
Kitchen planner is a must to preview what will be your future kitchen when it comes to life.
love ur backsplash joey ty for the details on ordering from ikea
I am from India, will go with IKEA kitchen now.
Thank you for the video.
This was a great review! I love Ikea ❤️ We needed a tour of whole kitchen though.
Did you install the countertops yourself? Are they quartz or laminate?
I can't lie... I hate the idea. But I also can't argue any of your points. So I'll be looking into it.
thank you for all the great reasons to buy an IKEA kitchen, you listed so many that I'd never even thought of
Thanks so much for this thorough review! Your kitchen is beautiful 👏🏼
Great video about installing an IKEA kitchen! I’m thinking about doing the same.
I was just gonna ask abt install. I’m thinking abt these in my soon to be tiny house
Fantastic presentation of very helpful detailed and practical info. I am shocked that you don’t have more subscribers. You are one of the best presenters I have seen on UA-cam and I watch tons of how to videos on a wide range of subjects. Thanks. I look forward to more videos.
Thanks so much.
Where I live, we have brick walls and it was be much harder to install. So IKEA has a partner that installs for a very reasonable fee. And hey, they warranty makes them the king of kitchen cabinets. So in my country, they position themselves differently.
My last house was a brick house and I just used brick anchors. To me, that was much more secure than the wood behind the drywall.
Great video. Learned a lot here. Thank you for filming this :) btw, what’s the worktop made of? Is it quartz?
I moved my sink over, to avoid having the middle bar of the window in the middle of my sight line. It turned out great, I look out one unobstructed side while doing dishes, and I look out the other side while prepping meals. I don’t even notice the middle bar anymore.
Thanks for the concise review. It was very informative and has confirmed what I have heard from others.
The people I have known over the years that have bought fully custom kitchens and cabinets sounded more like they wanted the bragging rights to how much they had spent. And as we all know, more money spent on a kitchen means you are higher in social status.🙃
Great presentation! IKEA should be compensating you for convincing so many customers to purchase an IKEA kitchen! You can count me as one of them.
Very interesting and persuasive, but I'm still wary of particle board -- 25-year warranty or not.
What do you think the entry level cabinets at Lowes and Home Depot are made of? Particle board. Same shit! They were just double the price.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
very good. I have built kitchens, but not an Ikea. I am sure it is easy
Question - if starting from scratch, do you put the flooring in first and then the cabinets?
The flooring goes in last. If you were to take out your current cabinets, you will see that there is no finished flooring under them.
I will be checking IKEA out for my new kitchen I am moving to in May. Thanks, you made it simple. Thanks
My son is on his second kitchen and loves it. He did pay to have it built and installed.
Very informative and organized presentation.
I am sold.
You convinced me, I'm going to replace my kitchen with an Ikea kitchen!
